November 6th – 12th, 2017

The astrology for this week of November 6th through the 12th of 2017 seems relatively placid. We might all just be tuning out and turning inward.

The week begins with us mulling things over and with a lot of stuff to mull over. We might be calling this person, contacting that person, all with the idea of getting as much input as possible. Not only are we likely to want to bounce ideas off of other people, we may also be in a highly chatty mood.

It may seem as if our future is crystal clear to us. It’s just a matter of figuring out how to get there.

The mid-week can be highly emotional. Our compassionate nature could be on view. With Venus exiting its own Sign of Libra to enter Scorpio, a Sign of its Detriment where Venus is not comfortable, we might be less interested in caretaking and co-dependency and more interested in engaging the sentiment in the quote attributed to Maimonides: ‘give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime’.

The mid-week period can have us taking on a nurturing tone but unlikely to have us ‘casting our pearls before swine’. We are ready to help but help those people who are willing to help themselves.

We could be doing a great deal of soul-searching this week, considering where we want to put our energy and prioritizing our activities. We may have a sense of our inner resilience, and the latter part of the week might see us involved in creative outlets, whether our own projects or enjoying the talented expressions of other people.

The weekend can be a high energy time. We are looking at connecting both the old and the new, drawing upon our experience while looking for exciting options and alternatives for our future. We can put things neatly together if we use our skill set and be receptive to innovative approaches. We do need to maintain focus, since distractions could take our attention away and lead to disruptions and confusions. Why go there when the weekend might show us highly adept and adaptable?

Monday, November 6th – Reach Out in All Directions – Saturn, Uranus. We start the week on this Monday with us liable to be killing time, procrastinating but with a semblance of doing something and everything, all at the same time. We would far prefer to idle our day away in conversations and discussions. We might find ourselves absorbed in texting, or emails or phone calls, anything to keep us from what we have to do. The Moon continues its transit of Gemini today, but for much of the day the Moon makes no connections to the planets. In the latter part of this Monday, the Gemini Moon opposes Saturn and the Moon sextiles Uranus. Diverted from our routine and responsibilities by our preference to while away the day, we might find that our responsibilities become pressing demands at the end of the day. Whether we address tasks at hand or put them off for another day, we are highly aware of both what needs to be done and some interesting adventures we are planning to engage. This Monday is not a day of carpe diem [‘seize the day’] and instead could have us spinning our wheels.

Tuesday, November 7th – A Little Help, Please – Venus, Jupiter, Mars, Venus Scorpio. The early morning hours have the Gemini Moon trine Venus, just before the Moon exits Gemini to enter Cancer and right before Venus exits Libra to enter Scorpio. The Cancer Moon trines Jupiter and the Moon squares Mars. Monday could have had us embracing the sentiment ‘why do today what you can put off until tomorrow’. We wake up on this Tuesday morning with a prod from someone encouraging us to get going, doing what needs to be done in order for us to then engage the more exciting and adventurous prospects for our future. While we may be encouraged by someone in the early morning, the shift by Venus from the Sign it rules, Libra, into a Sign of its Detriment, Scorpio, where Venus is not comfortable, augurs the liability to jealousy and backstabbing from even our closest connections. We may be skeptical of people’s intentions, but let’s avoid going into paranoia. We might want to suspend judgment regarding where people are coming from and accept an admonition I often suggest to people to ‘check the source and check their agenda’. With an inclination for us to take care of ourselves and provide a safe sanctuary for ourselves, we could find ourselves buying things to feather our nest and provide us with a comfort zone. We do have to watch that any element of playing catch up or trying to do too much doesn’t exhaust us by the end of the day. While the beginning of the day finds someone supportive of our efforts, the end of the day may have us raising the question ‘what have you done for me lately?’

Wednesday, November 8th – Those Magic Moments – Lunar Grand Trine, Neptune, Sun, Pluto. Wednesday can be one of those days when we awaken feeling as though we are sauntering along on cloud nine. The day begins with the Cancer Moon triggering a Water Grand Trine as the Moon trines Neptune in Pisces and the Moon trines the Sun in Scorpio. Our sensitivity and feeling nature can be heightened as we start the day. We might feel as though we have everything neatly put together and that nothing can go wrong, for we could be divinely guided with higher forces [aka god] directing our movement and with us along for the ride. And what a ride it could be, at least until we hit a bump in the road with the Moon opposed Pluto. Even if we felt like we were floating along on a high altitude balloon, mundane reality can come along and like a sharp pin prick our good feeling and otherworldly euphoria. Suddenly, we might be forced to deal with routine matters and address our responsibilities. Let’s not lose the magic moments, even if they recede in our consciousness as we deal with our daily demands. Those magic moments can instill in us a sense that there are times when we find ourselves in the ‘zone’, a zen-like quality where we recognize and realize that our life unfoldment is all in accord with plan — at times, streamlined, other times when there are bumps in the road. We may gain a greater appreciation of the Buddhist ‘middle path’, finding the balance between extremes and not becoming attached to either the sublime or the ridiculous but rather detached in the face of the ALL.

Thursday, November 9th – Winch or Roll Up the Mountain – Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Sun, Pluto. Yesterday could have felt quite sublime, at least in the early part of the day. The latter part of yesterday could have had us feeling that like Icarus we had like flown too close to the sun, that things were just too good for us, and then found ourselves hurtling down to the ground and back into our mundane reality. Early Thursday continues with the Cancer Moon with the Moon square Uranus. We might feel that we don’t have the wherewithal to make the changes to our lives that we wish would occur or that we could initiate. We can sense the wind being knocked out of our sails. Change is inevitable and so it is on this Thursday. The Cancer Moon goes Void-of-Course for seven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer and before the Moon enters Leo early in the day where today the Leo Moon squares both Venus and Jupiter both in Scorpio and the Moon trines Mercury in Sagittarius. Thursday also has the Scorpio Sun sextile Pluto in Capricorn. If we choose to, we could feel as though we don’t have the resources — time, money, energy, talent — to pull off some of our grand ambitions. Yet, we do not have to go there, but instead recognize that as the saying affirms ‘where there’s a will, there’s a way’. We can draw upon our passion and commitment, our resourcefulness and our skill set to devise a best practices approach to initiate our dreams. Let’s always keep in mind that any journey begins with a first step. We do not have to know all the steps in our itinerary or along our direction. In truth, such an assumption would be false in reality and would play to the old mindset, and a false belief at that, of our always having to be in control of circumstance. We are moving into a new paradigm and the more we concentrate on our soul level, the more likely we are to being attuned to our ‘right’ life path. There can be assistance along the way of our true journey, but we need to take the first step.

Friday, November 10th – No Rainmakers – Mars, Sun. Friday continues with the Leo Moon with the Moon sextile Mars early in the day and the Moon square the Sun later in the day. We might start this day with a huge thrust of energy and impressive to all with whom we come into contact. Our presentations can be dynamic and persuasive. We seem to have it going on, and people are likely to admire what we have to say and how we say it. We shine during the morning hours, so it would be wise for us to take center stage, engage our creativity and dazzle our audience, whether our audience is an audience of one, a group or the multitudes. Like any good performer, it’s also important for us to know when to leave the stage. As the day progresses, our enthusiasm might wane, we could start to question ourselves and the bloom starts to come off the rose. The more we can do in the morning hours, the better it would be. And if we could make this an early getaway to start the weekend in the afternoon, we could leave our audience wanting more — always better leaving at the peak with the audience wanting more.

Saturday, November 11th – Old and New Together – Lunar Grand Trine, Saturn, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus. Late Friday, early Saturday can find us basking in the light of our talents, abilities and accomplishments. The Leo Moon triggers a Fire Grand Trine with the Moon trine Saturn in Sagittarius and the Moon trine Uranus in Aries. Saturn trines Uranus, the last of the trine between the two in the Fire Element. The Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost eight hours as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo without making any further connections to the planets and before the Moon enters Virgo where late in the day the Moon sextiles Venus. This Saturday is a day when we can draw upon our expertise developed from our experiences with unique and innovative new directions. This is a day when old and new come together. We may seem to reach for the stars, all the while that we are fully grounded, reasonable and inventive. We could hear about technological breakthroughs now — work developed over time that have created radical advances and major breakthroughs. We could experience that within ourselves, whereby we have a sense that our past has prepared us for a major launch into new activities, projects and trajectories. We may feel that we have built a suspension bridge from where we have been and who we have been into a brand new world. It may take some time to make the complete crossing but we can have a strong inkling of the possibilities for our future. Later this year, when Saturn moves into Capricorn, and during next year, when Uranus enters Taurus, we may have greater opportunities to implement our future. At the moment, it may still reside in the unknown but with subtle indications of what lies ahead for us. With a new thrust of energy, we can deal with the particulars of our daily life on this Saturday, taking care of sprucing up our environment and cleaning out the clutter.

Sunday, November 12th – Grabbing a Wave – Jupiter, Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Neptune, Pluto. Much of yesterday’s ‘can do’ attitude rubs off on this Sunday, at least to begin with. The Virgo Moon sextiles Jupiter and the Moon triggers a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon square Mercury and the Moon opposed Neptune, before the Moon trines Pluto to end the day. Things may have flowed easily yesterday thanks both to our own efforts and some serendipitous incidents brought to us by the universal unfolding. We could easily assume that such an easy process would continue into this Sunday. Nice concept but in truth astrology is like weather forecasting. Astrology makes us aware of times when things flow easily, other times when we’re bumping up against things and scraping our knees. With a sense of optimism and confidence as we start this Sunday, we may decide that we can accomplish a great deal and ever more. Not so fast. This is a day when we could put a great deal on our plate or schedule of activities with the consequent effect of us running around in circles. We might easily gloss over details, and we may not be thinking quite right. Fortunately, the end of the day can allow us to make order out of chaos and to prioritize our involvements. This is a day when we need to avoid biting off more than we can chew.
