November 27th – December 3rd, 2017

The astrology for this week of November 27th through December 3rd of 2017 can have us believing that all things are possible.

We may have a sense of being in an otherworldly dimension, one where magic and mystery reign and in a time-space reality that we might fully embrace if only we could remove the shackles from our mundane, daily existence.

An upbeat feeling that everything is working according to plan, in accord with a master plan of divine design, may be intoxicating and could fill us with hope and the promise of good days ahead. We are moving evermore into the holiday season, a time when our cynical, critical attitude can drop away and we accept the belief we might have had as children that all things are possible, even the seemingly implausible.

With one foot in a scenario of hope, change and good times and the other foot immersed in our normal responsibilities and daily obligations, our moods this week can be something of a whipsaw between elation and despair. The question, a question constantly at the forefront of our life journey, is whether we can find and maintain balance, a level of objectivity and detachment that allows us to navigate our daily course without succumbing to the heightened emotions of polarity between rigid empiricism and magical realism.

We begin this week with our spiritual nature enhanced. We are more likely to embrace the new paradigm of serendipity and synchronicity where things occur without our making things happen but rather unfold in a non-sequential manner. While we verge on acceptance of the long-heralded Christmas folklore expressed in the 1897 editorial in the New York newspaper The Sun of ‘Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus’; our own skepticism or that of someone else can pop our balloon and install blinders on us that force us only to see what is right in front of us in black and white, all color bleached from daily life.

The mid-part of this week could have us reigniting our passion and determination to do things our own particular, personal way. We might be willing to go against the grain of conventional wisdom and social correctness and strike out on our own with initiations of new involvements and different activities that speak to the autonomy and freedom of our movement.

The latter part of the week into the weekend may have us ensnarled in the holiday shopping frenzy. Deals too good to be true could entice even the most hardened shopping warrior into a buy, buy, buy disposition. Let’s be judicious in our spending and careful in navigating the aisles of the heavily stocked stores.

We enter December on Friday with a burst of energy and a liability to accidents due to impulsiveness and forging ahead without considering the direction or the obstacles in our way. We may feel highly expansive and assume that whatever we want and the way we want it will occur with little resistance to our way. Nice concept but such an attitude also negates unexpected situations that could trip us up or worse.

The weekend can have a flurry of activity. We might wish to take in the holiday decorations, enjoy community events and participate in social gatherings.

Where a problem arises, like a monkey wrench thrown into the spokes of our wheels, is the Gemini Full Moon on Sunday with strong influence from Neptune and Mercury turning retrograde. Sunday may prove to be a squirrely day, a day when we are all over the place but without much clarity, just a great deal of energy expended to the point of spinning our wheels.

Monday, November 27th – In the Misty Morning – Neptune, Pluto. Many of us in the US may be coming off a very long holiday weekend, thanks to Thanksgiving this past Thursday. It might be hard to get on track as we start this week. The week begins on this Monday with the Moon in Pisces and the Moon conjunct Neptune and later the Moon sextile Pluto. If we have relaxed over the past few days, or even if we have been at the forefront of the shopping ‘bargains’, we may be slow going as we start the week. Our emotions can be heightened, and we might be in a more reactive than proactive mood. It would be wise for us to take some time to plan our day and plan our week before starting out on this Monday. If we would take the time to consider our schedule and contemplate all that we want to accomplish this week, then we could prove to be highly expeditious in getting things done. At its optimum, this day allows us to effectively strategize and then easily expedite our intentions. Let’s keep in mind that Sunday starts us on a three-week Mercury retrograde cycle, a retrograde that lasts through the 22nd of December. We might want to consider all the items we wish to complete before year’s end with an appreciation that the Mercury retrograde could prove daunting with delays, misunderstandings and misinformation.

Tuesday, November 28th – Ball and Chain – Venus, Saturn, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course. We could be pulled up short on this Tuesday. The day begins with the Pisces Moon trine Venus before the Moon squares both Saturn and Mercury both in Sagittarius. Mercury conjuncts Saturn today. Although we would like everything to work perfectly and with everyone happy with one another, our hopes may prove only illusionary or at the least could bang up against reality. This is a day when we might feel the weight of the world on our shoulders. Old issues or old patterns of behavior can prevent us from moving forward and could even trigger a spiral downward. We have to be wary of having blinders on today, only seeing things in a certain way and possibly with a negative tinge associated with our perspective. Let’s avoid depressive thoughts and try to maintain a detached viewpoint. There can be delays and frustrations and this is one of those days when we might just need to ‘grin and bear it’. After a grumpy beginning to the morning, we could shake off our dampened spirit. The Moon goes Void-of-Course for about four and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries. The Aries Moon may help us shake off any eeyore attitude. We may get a second wind but might not focus where to put our energy. Perhaps we can do so tomorrow.

Wednesday, November 29th – Beyond the Limits – Sun, Pluto. Wednesday has the Aries Moon with the Moon early in the day trine the Sun and late in the day the Moon square Pluto. As if throwing open wide the barn door, we can gallop out as we start this Wednesday. We may feel like a pioneer ready to explore the distant realms or expand our activities to the outer limits. We could feel as if we have gotten a second wind with a sense that no one or any thing can stop us. This energetic thrust might be refreshing and welcome after a day when we may have been grousing about anything and every thing. Tuesday and Wednesday might be two extremes — Tuesday having us held back or holding ourselves back, and Wednesday having us fling wide and go for all the gusto. Where a problem might arise later in the day could be a tendency for us to have done things according to our own parameters but with a liability of stepping out of bounds of what is acceptable. We have to be wary that we don’t step over the line today and show little regard for conventions, standards or legalities. If we have pushed our interests forward without consideration of ‘right action’, we might have a significant pushback later in the day. ‘Moderation in all things’ is called for on this Wednesday. Even if we metronome between the eeyore of yesterday and the superbeing of today, eventually we’ll be brought back to the median.

Thursday, November 30th – Going my Way – Mars, Uranus, Saturn, Mercury. Tuesday could have found us blocked by someone or by circumstance, but we might have felt that we were facing an impenetrable force. Tuesday had the Moon square both Mercury and Saturn at the same time that Mercury was conjuncting Saturn. Thursday shifts the energy significantly. Thursday has the Moon in Aries and the Moon today trines Saturn and Mercury both in Sagittarius. The Moon opposes Mars and the Moon conjuncts Uranus. One of the main attributes of astrology is the question of timing — deciphering times when the force is with us, other times when we might be just banging up against things. Although we might confront a naysayer to our intentions today, the force is likely with us. Today is a day for us to accentuate our individuality and our autonomy and move our interests forward. If our plans were delayed or blocked on Tuesday, Thursday allows for smoother sailing and the ability to reignite whatever we found frustrating two days ago. As the day progresses the Moon exits Aries to enter Taurus. Whatever we may have started recently, we have the ability to implement and bring into manifestation. Our impetuousness could drop away as we take a determined approach and accept the willingness to take things step by step.

Friday, December 1st – No Rushing the River, Please – Jupiter, Neptune, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars, Uranus, Venus Sagittarius. Friday continues with the Taurus Moon with the Moon today opposed Jupiter, the Moon sextile Neptune and the Moon trine Pluto. Late in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for nineteen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Taurus and before the Moon enters Gemini late on Saturday. Mars opposes Uranus and Venus exits Scorpio to enter Sagittarius adding more energy to the Sagittarius Stellium as Venus joins the Sun, Mercury and Saturn in the Mutable Fire Sign. Friday is a day when proper planning and budget in hand can prevent us from bone-headed decisions and ill-considered movements. The liability to accidents as a result of impulsiveness and rushing forward without considering the conditions is strong on this Friday. Toning things down today is highly suggested since people could go off half-cocked. This is a day for us to rein in our enthusiasm, avoid stepping on someone’s toes and maintaining a watchful eye on our expenditures. While there is a liability toward being accident-prone on this Friday, being resourceful and taking things in an orderly progression can channel our energy in a constructive manner allowing us to get a great deal done expeditiously.

Saturday, December 2nd – The Sky’s the Limit – Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Jupiter, Neptune. The Taurus Moon continues Void-of-Course for much of this day with the Moon making no connections to the planets until the Moon enters Gemini later in the day where today the Gemini Moon opposes Venus in Sagittarius. Jupiter trines Neptune. Saturday might be one of those holiday shopping days, whether we are getting presents for people, buying something to bring to a social gathering or lavishing ourselves with treats. We could be out and about in the evening hours, feeling good about things and being generous to the point of extravagance. And that would be the caveat for this Saturday. It would be wise for us to make a list, check it twice regarding what we intend to buy or shop for, and have a very tight budget regarding our expenditures. The holiday spirit, or spirits, could lead us to indulgences that might wind up with us having a nasty hangover either tomorrow or when the credit card bills come in. Let’s avoid buyer’s remorse by proper planning.

Sunday, December 3rd – High Anxieties in a World of Confusion – Gemini Full Moon, Lunar T-Square, Sun, Neptune, Mercury retrograde. Fasten your seat belts, sports fans, for this Sunday could prove to be one whacky day. We have the Gemini Full Moon with the Moon triggering a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed the Sun and the Moon square Neptune. The Sun squares Neptune, and Mercury turns retrograde for its three-week retrograde cycle. This day could be a day of playing the game Clue, with absolutely no one having… a clue. Confusion can be rampant today and with it a high level of anxiety. Let’s all breathe, breathe deeply, and not accept anything at face value. With Mercury turning retrograde today, Murphy’s Law is enforced whereby ‘whatever can go wrong could go wrong’. There is a high likelihood of miscommunications, misunderstandings, misdirections, and all the other misses with few hits in between. People may be racing around but much of the racing around could only be spinning wheels. If we get caught up in the energy today, we are likely to not only exhaust ourselves but also create for ourselves a high wall of worry. Let’s not build that wall, but rather make sure we take time to relax, recharge and reinvigorate ourselves. Stepping away from the frenzy, we could watch people act like gerbils running on the wheel. A spiritual retreat might be the right tonic for this day — walking down by a water body, meditating and just slowing things down and embracing our spiritual nature.
