The astrology for this week of November 20th – 26th, 2017, can have us in good spirits, stretching our wings and engaging in social gatherings.
This week in the US is Thanksgiving week, and we may have plans to travel, visit family and friends, and give thanks for the blessings and bounties in our lives. Certainly, travel is a large part of Thanksgiving week as it is one of the busiest travel times of the year. The giving of thanks is another story and often lost to the gluttony that Thanksgiving seems to instill in many of us.
This week may have us seeking to kick off the holiday season, first with Thanksgiving on Thursday, Black Friday with its holiday sales [yup, on Friday], and the ratcheting up of Christmas and holiday songs.
The mid-week can have us making our holiday preparations, and the end of the week through the weekend could find us participating in various social gatherings.
We may be feeling upbeat but pressured by all that we have to do. We are entering that time of year when there is a natural inclination to step away from mundane realities and embrace the mystique and magic of this end of the year.
There don’t seem to be any major unpleasantries this week, only a few bumps in the road as we go helter-skelter entering the holiday season.
Monday, November 20th – Forward and Backward – Mars, Mercury, Uranus, Saturn. The week begins with a continuation of the Moon’s transit through Sagittarius. Today, the Moon sextiles Mars, the Moon conjuncts Mercury, the Moon trines Uranus, and the Moon conjuncts Saturn. We could be off and running as we start the week. We may have a burst of energy, feel highly confident with a desire to expand our interests and broaden our activities. Feeling optimistic, we might choose to take a tack from our usual routine, try something new and different and explore aspects of ourselves with which we are unfamiliar. While we could journey down the yellow brick road toward the Emerald Kingdom, we should keep our eyes and ears open for unexpected new and sudden opportunities. We might be privy to some serendipitous incidents. Even if we are able to step out of our usual routine, the latter part of the day can have us back on track, regrouping and dealing with usual responsibilities. The wonder of this day lies in another indication of the paradigm shift from sequential, linear progressions into the asequential reality of so-called ‘random’ happenings.
Tuesday, November 21st – True Purpose, Real Meaning – Jupiter, Venus, Pluto, Sun Sagittarius. The Moon moves into Capricorn where today the Moon sextiles Jupiter. Venus sextiles Pluto. The Sun exits Scorpio to enter Sagittarius, and in so doing the Sun ends the Stellium of three planets in Scorpio and triggers a Stellium in Sagittarius as the Sun joins Mercury and Saturn in the Mutable Fire Sign. Tuesday can be a time when we can be highly resourceful and effective in putting things together and advancing our primary interests. We are unlikely to be distracted by shallow or extraneous matters. This is a day when we want to get to the essence, go to the very foundations of situations. We can accomplish a great deal on this Tuesday. Prioritizing our time and being more effective with less expenditure of energy, we could virtually move mountains. We may have a stronger philosophical outlook about life and how we are doing our living. Some of the intensity of recent days might seem to drop away. We may be more proactive and less reactive to whatever is going on around us. There could be a lightening of our load with a greater concentration on those aspects of our lives that serve purpose and have real meaning.
Wednesday, November 22nd – No Burnout – Neptune, Pluto, Venus, Mars, Neptune direct. Wednesday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today sextile Neptune, the Moon conjunct Pluto, the Moon sextile Venus and the Moon square Mars. Neptune turns direct. If we are celebrating the US Thanksgiving, then today is the last day of shopping, preparing and getting ready for tomorrow’s festivities. We might feel today to be crunch time. Whether we are going away, hosting friends or not even involved with Thanksgiving celebrations, this Wednesday is a wrap-up day. Tomorrow begins what could be a long holiday weekend and the unofficial kickoff of holiday celebrations that will run all the way into the early part of the New Year. This is a day when we need to keep our wits about us, prioritize our activities and have a check list of what we want / need to get done. If we get wrapped up into the preparations for tomorrow’s main event, then we could be going nonstop on this Wednesday. We do have to watch that we don’t burn ourselves out by the end of the day. If we are traveling on this Wednesday, it would be wise to give ourselves extra time, for the highways and byways, the air travel and train travel can be jammed with people being frenetic, and even frantic. This Wednesday is one of the busiest travel days of the year in the US. If you are offshore, there may not be the same pandemonium, but the day can still be high caliber with the ability to get a great deal done.
Thursday, November 23rd – Giving Thanks – Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun. There could have been a great deal of hoo-ha yesterday, but this Thursday is Thanksgiving Day in the US, a day geared to turkeys, high spirits and football. The day begins with the Capricorn Moon square Uranus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over nine and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius later in the day where today the Aquarius Moon sextiles the Sun. We might start this day with something not quite right. We might have forgotten some significant ingredient to our day’s plans, or we might prefer doing something other than what is planned. Whether the glitch is real or our own ill feeling, we can start this Thursday less in giving thanks and more in scratching our head and being slightly annoyed. Obligations and commitments might vex us, but even if we go kicking and screaming into this Thanksgiving Day, the latter part of the day is far more exciting. Late day interactions with other people can be fun, enlivening and might even make us aware of matters with which we are not familiar but stir our interest and engage our curiosity. Let’s remember to give thanks for all the blessings in our life, blessings we often take for granted and sometimes even assume bounties to which we are entitled.
Friday, November 24th – Let the Games Begin – Jupiter. In the US this Friday is considered Black Friday, a day when retailers fling wide open their doors with sales and the beginning of the holidays sales rush. This day is referred to as Black Friday, for this period through Christmas is the time of year when many retailers make as much as 25% of their annual sales and helps that retailer to be in the black [profitable] rather than in the red [loss]. The Moon continues its transit of Aquarius with the Moon today square Jupiter. Forecasts of increased sales year over year can be validated today as many people are likely to have the tendency of spending without giving much thought to how much they’re spending or what they’re racking up on their credit card. One line that stood out in the 1967 classic movie The Graduate was: ‘plastics. There’s a great future in plastics.’ And it’s been proven to be true as many of us make use on a daily basis of our plastic credit card. We can be feeling good on this Black Friday, looking to the future and willing to indulge ourselves in the shopping sales, getting our holiday gifts and purchasing treats for ourselves. The liability to excess may be strong, but we’re looking to enjoy ourselves in good times with good friends.
Saturday, November 25th – Do You Hear What I Hear – Mars, Venus, Uranus, Mercury, Saturn. Saturday can be a high energy day, and we might be in full swing of holiday frolics. The Aquarius Moon today trines Mars, the Moon sextiles Uranus in Aries, and the Moon sextiles Mercury and Saturn both in Sagittarius. Mercury trines Uranus. There can be some surprising developments to this Saturday. Unexpected news could delight us, and we may engage in serendipitous encounters. This is a day for us to have our antennae up and work with peripheral vision, since fascinating situations might arise out of the blue. Our insights are likely to be strong, and we could easily connect the dots to even the most difficult of life’s puzzles. If we don’t hamper ourselves by previously arranged commitments, we can take advantage of opportunities and act spontaneously. Our mind is sharp and we may be privy to interesting insights. This is not a day to rely solely on the empirical but rather to be open to the magic and mystery of the paradigm shift into asequential reality where unanticipated events and random happenings are the new ‘normal’. Welcome to an exciting new world of our being co-creators with the natural unfolding. Miracles, whether mini or maxi, are in play today.
Sunday, November 26th – Trust in Spirit – Sun, Jupiter. Sunday has the Moon moving into Pisces where today the Moon squares the Sun and the Moon trines Jupiter. We are all being asked not to get in our own way. Having been conditioned to trying to be in control and having mastery over our life’s journey, we have a tendency of assuming that we have to make things happen, although often this mistaken belief may have proven more of a liability. Such an attitude of total control over our life’s procession might seem to have worked in times past, but in truth not really. If we would look back over our life’s journey up to this point, we might realize that there have been times when we took a different route and embarked on a different course than what we had planned for our journey. This Sunday could provide an interesting mirror to us of the dichotomy within ourselves — between the mundane, material aspects of ourselves and the essential, spiritual characteristics of our being. Even if we try to make things happen today, we could discover that things flow ever more smoothly by our willingness to embrace the concept of ‘let go, let god’. We might begin this Sunday pushing the envelope, asserting our will but find ourselves banging up against some form of resistance. The more we release our attempt at control, the more likely we are to see things unfolding easily and naturally. This Sunday could provide us with a good ‘heads up’ to the reality that life works especially well when we don’t get in our own way but let the natural unfolding occur in the way that it will.
