The astrology for this week of November 13th – 19th of 2017 can be quite sublime or downright ridiculous — our choice, always our choice.
We start the week on something of a high note as the two ‘good guys’ of the planetary realm, Venus and Jupiter, join together. The start of the week can have us feeling like we’re in seventh heaven, although we have to be wary that we don’t enter into a fool’s paradise.
Our tendency of embracing the good things in life with a liability to indulgence and excess could be intoxicating. We might see only the good and desire more, more, more. Without using due diligence, our ‘feel good’ attitude can end us up in a heap full of trouble. Let’s try and maintain some semblance of critical analysis to avoid pitfalls, especially where our finances are concerned.
Although Alibaba’s Single’s Day in China this past Saturday ratcheted up over US$25 Billion in sales, we don’t have to match anything close to those numbers on our own shopping sprees. Keeping a tight hold on the purse strings and budgeting our monies the early part of the week may keep us from financial headaches when the credit card statements for the month start to come in.
Much of this week can be highly pleasant. We might be more interested in socializing and engaging the French joie de vivre [joy of living] than doing a great deal of work. And that might be okay for this week, which has us at the end of the waning Moon. If we can bring ourselves to do so, we could eliminate some of the debris in our lives if only to make room for the more exciting and new purchases we make.
The weekend has the Scorpio New Moon with its influence on the next two weeks. We also have Mars square Pluto on the weekend and the liability towards extreme physical action with people getting enraged if they don’t get their way cannot be neglected. This energy configuration coming as it does at the time of the New Moon can feel its influence over the next two weeks. It is essential that we make no knee-jerk reactions to situations but rather that we take our time to respond to whatever is going on. Everyone has a short fuse now, and we need to be careful out there.
Monday, November 13th – Better Than This – Sun, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Neptune. Monday begins the week with the Virgo Moon sextile the Sun, and the Moon square Saturn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over seven and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra later in the day. The two ‘good guys’ of the planetary realm, Venus and Jupiter, are conjunct and late in the day Mercury squares Neptune. We can start this Monday and the week in a ‘gung ho’ fashion. We may have certain things we need to do, but we would far prefer engaging the good things in life. Whether a momentary respite or a prolonged indulgence, we are likely to take some time on this Monday to enjoy ourselves. To what extent of enjoyment could become cause for concern since we are likely to go to excess in satiating our appetite. Although we might feel as though life is good, which it is, we might not be seeing clearly. This is a day for us to be conservative with our expenses and to engage our due diligence before making any significant decisions.
Tuesday, November 14th – Revving the Engines – Mercury, Mars. Tuesday may start slowly. The Moon is in Libra but the Moon makes no connections to the planets until late in the day when the Moon sextiles Mercury and then the Moon conjuncts Mars. We could have easily overdone it on Monday and need much of this Tuesday to get back to a modicum of balance. Yesterday might have had us in gourmand mode, and today could have us regrouping after much excess. If we ate too much or made some bone-headed decisions yesterday, this Tuesday allows us to straighten things out. We can regroup and make amends for any extreme situations we might have engaged. Someone could provide some interesting insights and help us back on the right track. We may still be in an expansionary mood but today provides us with both wise counsel from someone we trust and the ability to move things forward step by step instead of leaps of blind faith. After we straighten things out and figure where we went wrong and what we need to do to rectify the situation, we can be revving the engines today in preparation of moving things forward tomorrow.
Wednesday, November 15th – Champing at the Bit – Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Uranus, Saturn. Wednesday continues with the Libra Moon with the Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Pluto and the Moon opposes Uranus. The Moon later sextiles Saturn. With the wind to our back, we might be impelled to get things done. We could have received encouragement and sound advice from someone yesterday, and on this Wednesday we might put our plans into implementation. We do have to watch for any Quixote-like efforts, which could wind up with us tilting at windmills. We may have to address issues we had let slide over the past few days, but let’s not race forward glossing over details just to get things done. We might have to collaborate with someone and find accommodations to their interests and their needs. Even if we have to compromise on certain matters, it would be wise for us to try and do things effectively and without raising someone’s hackles. Even if we speed through this day, the latter part of the day allows us to get things in their right place.
Thursday, November 16th – Enchanted – Jupiter, Venus, Neptune. The Moon moves into Scorpio on this Thursday and the Moon conjuncts Jupiter. Venus trines Neptune. This Thursday can be a delightful day. There is a great deal of depth to everything we do, and we are quietly confident about what we are doing. We may be expressing our soul attributes to those people who appreciate who we are and who recognize a deep connection with us. There can be an idyllic quality to our relationships today, and we might find ourselves engaging soulmate connections. Even without saying a word, we can find ourselves comfortable and in total harmony with someone. There is magic afoot in our contacts today. We are not interested in the superficial or shallow. Rather, we are looking for the essence in everyone and of everything. There can be an otherworldly quality to this Thursday, a sense that no matter how chaotic the mundane world might seem that everything in truth is working in accord with a universal understanding and natural unfolding. There is a softness but within that softness an unyielding strength to this day. We don’t have to prove ourselves to anyone but instead can rest easily in the quiet strength of our being. This would be a day for us to take some ‘time outs’, spend some time alone in order to reflect and contemplate how perfect our lives truly are and how blessed we are with the significant relationships in our lives.
Friday, November 17th – Beauty Lies on the Dark Side of the Moon – Neptune, Venus, Pluto, Mercury, Mars. Friday has us on the dark side of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s New Moon. The Scorpio Moon today trines Neptune, the Moon conjuncts Venus and the Moon sextiles Pluto. Mercury sextiles Mars. Friday is a good day for us to tie up loose ends, rid ourselves of the extraneous and do so both with intelligence and determination. Our intuitive sense can be heightened on this Friday, and we could see exactly where some of the bumps in our road lie. If we would draw upon our sense of things and do a surgical extraction of those matters that only get in our way and add little to our life’s fullness, then we can clear the decks and streamline our lives prior to tomorrow’s New Moon when we begin a new monthly cycle. Let’s keep in mind that the waning Moon [from Full Moon to New Moon] is better for downsizing and bringing closure to matters, while a waxing Moon [from New Moon to Full Moon] provides support for new beginnings, growth and further development. We might find the true beauty in our lives on this Friday as we contemplate, complete and prepare for the thrust of tomorrow’s New Moon. If we take the time to reflect on our life today, we could see that ‘everything is beautiful in its own way’ [to borrow from the 1970 Ray Stevens’ song].
Saturday, November 18th – Homeward Bound – Scorpio New Moon, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course. Saturday begins with the Scorpio New Moon as the Moon conjuncts the Sun in the third decanate [Cancer decanate] of Scorpio. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for seven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius today. In the US, we are about to enter Thanksgiving week and what seems to be the kickoff of the holiday season. Whether we are traveling or planning upcoming travels, many of our thoughts can revolve around home, family and our journey through this life experience up to this point. Memories may flood over us during this two-week cycle, and we might find on this Saturday that we are doing an inventory taking of our lives, going through our stuff, whether our stuff are the physical accumulations we have gathered or the stuff are our thoughts of our past experiences. As if opening a Pandora’s box, we could take a walk down Memory Lane. The more objective we can be in our contemplations, the less likely we are to fall into a trap of anger or resentment or participate in a pity party. Every step along our way has served some purpose, whether we recognize or appreciate it or not. This Saturday allows us to be homeward bound, to go back in time, back into our memory bank, see things more clearly and then once observed allows us to close the box and move into a far more expansionary time. Some of us could start a week or period of travel, whether ‘over the river, and through the wood, to grandfather’s house we go’ [as recited in the 1844 Thanksgiving poem by Lydia Maria Child], or we are off to our parents’ home or we just decide to get out of Dodge.
Sunday, November 19th – Banging and Crashing – Neptune, Mars, Pluto. Sunday has the Sagittarius Moon square Neptune, and Mars square Pluto. We may want to be anywhere and everywhere on this Sunday, but we have to avoid running around in circles. Clarity can be somewhat lacking but our passionate determination is likely ratcheted up severalfold. We need to be careful on this Sunday, for our actions can be bold and brash but not necessarily well considered. The Mars Pluto square, exact today, has an impact as a result of its signature influence on yesterday’s New Moon. Today and for the next two weeks, we have to be wary of people acting out. Actions taken can be extreme and liable to be knee-jerk reactions. While we might have great spurts of energy at times over this next two-week period, the release of that energy can be explosive, belligerent and more likely to be over the top than self-contained. This is a day and two-week period for us to look, evaluate and check things out thoroughly before we leap into action. People can be highly aggressive during this timeframe and drawing more upon their brawn than upon brain. Due diligence of situations and considering the ramifications of intended actions, all with an appreciation of unintended consequences, could prevent us from some nasty situations and physical injury. This two-week period can see explosions, bomb blasts, violent storm systems, earthquake and volcanic activity, and any other forms of intense physical releases. Let’s be careful out there.
