October 9th – 15th, 2017

The astrology for this week of October 9th through the 15th of 2017 could have us reeling as we carom between some pretty intense energy configurations.

The week starts on a highly excitable note. Extreme words and actions are liable to shake us to the core and could wreak havoc with our relationships. We might begin the week lashing out and perhaps even without provocation. And our lashing out might be a knee-jerk reaction without considering the vehemence or even the target of our vented frustrations.

The bloom may be off the rose as we start the week. Unfortunately, we could be spinning our wheels without clarity, only frenzy.

There is a major shift in energy early in the week, as Jupiter ends its yearlong transit of Libra to enter Scorpio for the next thirteen months. The expansive energy of Jupiter combined with the piercing scrutiny of Scorpio could exacerbate anxiety and concern and raise questions whether ‘official’ versions of ‘reality’ are true or only illusions to either mollify or disquiet the general populace.

Much of the harangue that is likely to be sounding in this early week period can prove exhausting, and we may feel as though our energy is being depleted and sucked dry by the panorama of events unfolding before our very eyes. It will be important for us to tread lightly and carefully during the mid-week period since we are unlikely to be operating at full optimum and might be accident-prone.

The latter part of the week can provide a respite but only if we would detach from the crazy-making antics around us and map out a strategy as to how best to navigate the choppy waters of conditions, conditions that could be both expected and unanticipated. This is a week for us to keep our eyes and ears wide open and not to become too immersed in the circumstances around us.

The weekend calls for some down time and finding pleasurable activities and creative outlets that we can engage.

The weekend ends with startling news and surprising developments that could have us focused on getting things in order and straightening up any messes that might have affected us.

This could be one intense week so let’s look for solace, even momentary, wherever we can find it.

Monday, October 9th – Up Against It – Neptune, Mercury, Pluto, Sun. Monday is the official Columbus Day holiday in the US and Thanksgiving in Canada. This day may unleash some strong actions and reactions to conditions. Any sense of stability and security can either be pulled out from under us or could seem shaky at best. The Gemini Moon squares Neptune, but the major players of this day are both Mercury and the Sun square Pluto. With revisionism so much in play in the US, where a number of people are embracing unconsciously the concept that ‘those who don’t learn from their history are doomed to repeat it’, there can be various protests to the figurehead of this day. While protesters in the US have gone up against the confederate memorials and even against the founding fathers without accounting for the mindset and ways of those times, protests are likely on this Monday against Columbus and the perpetrators of massacres against the first nations peoples. Even those without much information about history may give voice to protest on this Monday. Tearing anything and everything of the past might be en vogue with the idea of it being preferable to work from a blank slate, but such actions cannot erase the subconscious conditioning or lineage that impacts the present and can influence the future. This Monday is a day of confusion, but also a time when people might push the envelope to the extreme. Discussions can turn heated and people might embrace the sentiment of ‘my way or the highway’. We have to be careful with our words and actions today, for many people can be like volcanoes, whereby the seething internally and the rage within is unleashed with incredible force. The release may be verbal, but it could also move into extreme actions. This is a day for us to rein in our energy and not get swept up by the intensity of these energy configurations.

Tuesday, October 10th – Everything But the Kitchen Sink – Sun, Mercury, Uranus, Lunar T-Square, Mars, Saturn, Venus, Jupiter, Jupiter Scorpio. Tuesday can be one high energy day. Even if we felt like yesterday was explosive and released a great deal of energy, this day could be the consequences and residues of yesterday’s intense energy. This Tuesday has the Gemini Moon trine both the Sun and Mercury and then the Moon triggering a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon square both Mars and Venus in Virgo and the Moon opposed Saturn in Sagittarius. The Moon then sextiles Uranus before exiting Gemini to enter Cancer where late today the Moon trines Jupiter, which has ended its year long transit of Libra today to enter Scorpio. This day starts off nicely enough. If we read or were read the riot act yesterday, we can make amends today. Our interactions with other people are far more gracious than the liable bellicose attitude we might have assumed yesterday. After the initial pleasantries of this day, we might move into a more manic phase where we are trying to do it all and then some. We could easily gloss over details in our rush to get things done, and we might even trip ourselves up by trying to take care of too many things at once, some of which might take longer than we like or might frustrate us in our dealing with them. The later hours of this day can have some fascinating twists and turns that put a smile back on our face. The day is bookended by enjoyable and good feelings. It’s just the in between that could get a little nutso.

Wednesday, October 11th – Worn Out Before We’ve Started – Neptune, Mars, Saturn. We might have spent ourselves running around yesterday only to discover the truth to the concept that things often work out in the end, either with our assistance or in spite of ourselves. Wednesday continues with the Cancer Moon with the Moon today trine Neptune. Mars squares Saturn. If we did a sloppy job with that which we were trying to accomplish yesterday, we could find ourselves back in the thick of it, repairing, reworking, tweaking or dealing with outstanding matters. We may feel exhausted or the weight of the world on our shoulders. Let’s do what needs to be done with the resources we have available. We might prefer the sanctity of our home. If we can spend the time at home today or at least in the evening hours, we can feel comforted and nurtured by our safe, happy place. This is not a day to push ourselves, for there is the possibility of our being burnt out and consequently the liability to being accident prone. We need to be cautious when working with heavy machinery today. We just don’t have our normal energy. Even if we feel we need to push through and accomplish certain things today, let’s not go beyond our limits today. This Wednesday is better served putting off until tomorrow any demanding affairs that require strength and perseverance.

Thursday, October 12th – Back in the Mix – Lunar Grand Cross, Pluto, Sun, Mercury, Uranus, Mars, Venus, Saturn. Tuesday could have had us racing around, going from pillar to post, and we might have paid the price yesterday when our energy might have been flagging. Thursday can have us back at it. Whether we got a second wind or just feel impelled by the energy operating, Thursday is another high active day. While we may have a great deal on our plate today, this is one of those days when it would be wise for us to look and strategize before we leap and forge ahead. Mercury sextiles Saturn today, and we could consider our plans and how best to achieve them. Someone may be a wise and trusted sounding board in order for us to determine a best practices approach to our various pursuits. Such an attitude and implementation would be wise, for otherwise we could be starting any number of things with little follow through. The Cancer Moon today triggers a Cardinal Grand Cross with the Moon opposed Pluto, the Moon square the Sun and Mercury both in Libra, and the Moon square Uranus in Aries. The Moon also sextiles Mars and Venus both in Virgo. Right planning could lead to right action.

Friday, October 13th – Don’t Fear the Reaper – Jupiter. This Friday is Friday the thirteenth, often considered an unlucky day. The interesting thing is that symbolically the thirteenth represents transformation with the thirteenth being the realized individual. In legend, analogy and in the Zodiac, we have twelve significant phases — the 12 tribes of Israel, the 12 apostles of Jesus the Christ, the 12 labors of Hercules, the 12 knights of Arthur’s Round Table, and the 12 Signs of the Zodiac. The thirteenth represent the integration of all twelve phases, that individual who has risen above the earth bonds and transcended into the realized individual [e.g. Jesus, Hercules, Arthur, eventually You and Me]. This Friday the thirteenth has the Moon moving into Leo where today the Moon squares Jupiter. We may be considering a fun weekend with various pleasurable activities to engage. We might start the weekend early, whether we get out of town or prepare ourselves for enjoyable events. We could feel better about ourselves and willing to fully embrace our creative side. We do have to watch our expenses today, for we might have the tendency to go whole hog and be extravagant or overly generous with our finances. This is a day for us to take center stage no matter how large or small our audience or just an audience of one, our self.

Saturday, October 14th – Spectacular Autumn Day – Sun, Saturn, Venus Libra. This Saturday can be a special day, a day when we fully enjoy the bounty of our life. The Leo Moon today sextiles the Sun, and the Moon trines Saturn. Venus exits Virgo to enter its own Sign of Libra, triggering a Stellium in the Cardinal Air Sign as Venus joins the Sun and Mercury in Libra. We may be feeling upbeat and confident today, and our attitude might seem contagious. This is a day when we could spend quality time with someone. We might feel complete and fulfilled within ourselves and can enjoy the company of another without judgment, criticism or comparison, just taking the person as they are and appreciating their qualities of character. Social occasions can be great fun, for everyone seems in an upbeat mood with mutual admiration for one another. If we can stretch beyond our familiar surroundings, we could discover an exciting world beyond our normal parameters. Often our lives are like metronomes with us swinging between extremes and often emotions between elation and despair. Today, we can find the balance point, that happy medium where we are at peace and find the serenity in life. Yes, this Saturday can be a spectacular autumn day.

Sunday, October 15th – Bumps in the Road – Mercury, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Jupiter. Late Saturday, early Sunday can be exhilarating times for us. Sunday begins with the Leo Moon finishing its transit of Leo with the Leo Moon sextile Mercury and the Moon trine Uranus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost six hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Leo and before the Moon moves into Virgo where today the Moon sextiles Jupiter. The good times of Friday and Saturday can continue on into the early morning hours of this Sunday. Exciting surprises could fascinate and entice us. While we might have been willing to spend whatever it took on Friday to satiate our appetites, this Sunday has us more watchful over our resources with a tendency to look after our finances and seek out a bargain in any shopping that we might do. If we only had the Moon aspects today, this would be the icing on the cake to what could be a great fun-filled autumn weekend. There is a glitch in our weekend today, however, and that is the Mercury opposition Uranus configuration. Although we could be privy to startling revelations and extraordinary insights, this energy configuration often triggers issues with travel, and especially air travel, problems with high technology and computer issues, and traffic delays or accidents due to hasty maneuvers. Adverse aspects of Mercury Uranus are my least favorite configurations for air travel, and I try to avoid flying whenever these configurations occur. We needn’t be curtailed in our activities due to this particular aspect, but it would be wise for us to keep our eyes and ears wide open and with a recognition of the law of unintended consequences. Things can occur in a rather unexpected manner, and it would be wise for us to have contingency plans to our schedule today.
