The astrology for this week of August 28th through September 3rd has us looking to spread our wings and enlist some last adventures of the dying embers of summer as we in the US come to the long Labor Day weekend, often considered the unofficial end to the summer season.
Last Monday, the 21st, we had The Great American Solar Eclipse, which even from an 80% coverage locale was spectacular. Apart from the spectacular celestial display, I also found it interesting how it played out for Mr. Trump. In my Summer posting, in my August posting and again in last week’s posting, I mentioned that the Solar Eclipse would fall on Mr. Trump’s ascendant and within orb of his Mars. Monday evening, Mr. Trump announced a ratcheting up of US involvement in Afghanistan. Talk about Mars and martial! And initiated during a Fire Grand Trine and under Mercury retrograde!
This week of August 28th through September 3rd begins with us feeling restrained by our tasks and obligations, all the while that we might want to break free for one last summer grand adventure.
We might have a lot going on during the mid-week period as we juggle what we have to do with what we want to do, both of which could seem diametrically opposed.
Towards the end of the week we seem more in gear with our responsibilities, looking to advance our greatest ambitions but still yearning to get off the track for one final summer fling. Retrograde Mercury exits its own Sign of Virgo to go back into Leo, creating a Stellium in the Fixed Fire Sign as Mercury joins Venus and Mars in Leo.
We are not done with our fun times in the summertime, and this fiery configuration kicks off what may prove to be a rousing Labor Day weekend in the US, a weekend that unofficially signals the end of summer and the advent of the autumn.
Over the long Labor Day weekend, we may be looking for a fun blowout with friends and in new environments. ‘Same old, same old’ just won’t cut it as we explore all possibilities with a tinge of extreme sporting, a strong dose of the unconventional and the unfamiliar and untried all thrown into the mix. While we might be looking to edge ever closer to the ledge, any liftoff from the ledge can be well considered and well thought out.
We may be at the end of the summer season unofficially, but we’re likely to wave it off with a bang and gusto rather than allowing it to whimper out.
Monday, August 28th – Unleashed but Tempered – Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Venus. Monday starts the week with the Scorpio Moon square Mars. We could have some matters to clear up before we can fully engage the day. Obstacles might prevent us from doing what we would prefer to do. It would be wise to get the impediments out of the way before trying to expand our activities on this Monday. The Moon goes Void-of-Course for ten hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius later in the day. Late in the day, the Sagittarius Moon squares Mercury and the Moon trines Venus. We could be moving so fast and trying to do too much that we trip over ourselves. We have to be careful not to precipitate accidents in the morning and watch what we say late in the day. We could make a mess for ourselves and of ourselves if we try to race ahead. Fortunately, late in the day we can connect with someone who can inspire us and help us lift our eyes from the frustrations of any blockages and help us see the limitless possibilities that lie ahead.
Tuesday, August 29th – Here, There, Everywhere – Lunar T-Square, Sun, Neptune. The Sagittarius Moon today triggers a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon square the Sun in Virgo and the Moon square Neptune in Pisces. This Tuesday calls for pre-planning before running amok. If we don’t manage our time and write down a schedule for our day with our activities planned out, we could find ourselves running around in circles trying to do a lot but not getting much done. While we are looking to cover a number of bases today, let’s slow things down and take things in a prioritized manner. Trying to do so many things could have us glossing over significant details all the while that we’re finding ourselves enraptured by mindless distractions. Our nerves can be shot with some people waiting for the other shoe to drop. Yes, these are anxious times, but our anxiety could be ratcheted up today by what we hear, which in truth might have little connection to true reality. We all need to get a grip, take responsibility for our judgment and our decisions and not rush in headlong. AND, most of all before we buy into anything being presented to us, as I often say: ‘let’s check the source and check their agenda’.
Wednesday, August 30th – Tied Down, Let Go – Saturn, Jupiter, Mars. Wednesday has the Sagittarius Moon conjunct Saturn, the Moon sextile Jupiter and the Moon trine Mars. Wednesday can start with us feeling stuck and tied down. We might feel as though a wet blanket has dampened our spirit and squelched some of our expansionary plans. While we might stumble out of the starting gate to begin this Wednesday, a friend could prove an important ally and advocate who encourages us to ‘dust ourselves off and pick ourselves up’. After a bumpy start to the day, this Wednesday improves significantly, first by the support of a good friend and later in the day by our regaining our passion. Timing is everything. We might be slow going to begin the day, but we become more animated and optimistic as the day proceeds. Let’s bear in mind that we never get more than we can handle and that there are times when we need to purge elements of the past and deal with outstanding matters before we can move confidently forward. Today is one of those days.
Thursday, August 31st – Finding Our Pace – Uranus, Mercury, Sun, Mercury Leo. Thursday begins the day with the Sagittarius Moon trine Uranus. The Moon then moves into Capricorn where today the Moon trines Mercury shortly before Mercury exits its own Sign of Virgo to go back into Leo thereby creating a Leo Stellium of three planets as Mercury joins Venus and Mars in the Fixed Fire Sign. Late in the day, the Moon trines the Sun. With the wind to our back, we could feel the push for us to consider alternative strategies and new ways of accomplishing our goals. We are not looking to be bound by our past or acceptable behavior. We are willing to consider our options and engage new interests and new activities that truly speak to us. Not that we are going blindly into the day. On the contrary, our desires to take new trajectories are likely to be well considered, well thought-out and well planned. This is a day when we would prefer to stand out rather than just fit in. We can determine what works and what doesn’t before we head off with direction in mind, itinerary in hand and commitment to our destination.
Friday, September 1st – Dealing With Essentials – Neptune, Pluto. Friday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today sextile Neptune and the Moon conjunct Pluto. As if guided by our inner voice, we can determine the right trajectory and the best practices approach to tie up loose ends, bring outstanding matters to closure and prioritize our activities. We might want to get as much done early in the day since this day also segues into the long Labor Day holiday weekend in the US, often considered the unofficial end of summer and the unofficial beginning of autumn. The more we can get out of the way concerning our obligations and tasks, the clearer our slate will be when we come back next week with a spring in our step and a determination to get back on track of our everyday life. The thing about this Friday, and a good lesson for us all to consider, is that we are given the lessons we need to learn and that by doing what needs to be done without critiquing it or whining about it we can accomplish the necessary tasks objectively without our wearing ourselves out emotionally. This is a day for us to embrace the Nike slogan of ‘do it’ and not to dither about whether we should or why we should do what needs to be done. Once our responsibilities are addressed, we can take an early Friday and start our holiday weekend.
Saturday, September 2nd – Desires Interruptus – Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars. We could be geared for get-togethers, grand adventures and good times on this Saturday and for this long holiday weekend. Before we fully embrace our holiday gambit, we might find that someone has some type of need and expects us to interrupt our plans to help them out. The day begins with the Moon finishing its transit of Capricorn triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Jupiter in Libra and the Moon squares Uranus in Aries. We might be the lucky one who is considered capable of dealing with situations that are not of our making but rather some other person’s issues that we become entangled with and expected to resolve. We could feel put upon, but this day also has Mars trine Uranus. Even if we are called upon to help someone out with a particular situation, we may engage the request out of a recognition that we can do so effectively and expeditiously and with an appreciation for the ego stroke. Yes, someone likes us and respects us. We are likely to be feeling our oats, confident of our abilities and wanting to take care of things in order to then move on to more exciting involvements. While the first part of the day could have us tied up dealing with various imposing matters, the latter part of the day accentuates fun times with good friends. The Capricorn Moon goes Void-of-Course for three and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius late in the day. The latter part of this Saturday could find us stretching our wings, pumping up our chest and relating our heroics to anyone interested in listening or those in earshot of our pronouncements.
Sunday, September 3rd – Fast As We Can – Venus, Mercury, Mars. Sunday has a great deal of Leo energy, even with the Moon transiting through Aquarius. The Moon opposes Venus in Leo and Mercury conjuncts Mars both transiting Leo. This is a day when we can blend brain with brawn. We might be highly energized today, wanting to give voice to our creative side or participate in recreational pursuits. While there can be a tendency for us to push the envelope on this Sunday, there is little liability in our doing so, as we are likely to think things through, plan things out, before launching forward with a sentiment of xtreme sport. Social gatherings can be fun events especially if we find active outlets to re-create. We are not interested in a quiet Sunday, not today. On the contrary, we are likely to be out and about, doing our thing and expressing our creative side. Creativity and re-creational activities can be a large part of this Sunday. While we could feel at the top of our game, we need to be wary that we are not just too much for someone or showing ourselves off as a ‘legend in our own mind’.
