The astrology for this week of July 24th through the 30th highlights the summertime activities of fun in the sun. We might have one foot in the re-creation and relaxation of summer, the other foot in the sense of the approaching autumn with the likely return to our daily routine.
The week begins with the recent Stellium of three planets in Leo prodding us to spread our wings and do something other than our ordinary experiences. Whether we fly away into distant terrain or we open our mind to options we have never before considered, we are in a creative and expansionary mood as we begin this week. We do have to watch that someone isn’t impeding us or that our responsibilities aren’t clipping our wings.
The Leo Stellium is sort-lived as Mercury exits Leo to enter its own Sign of Virgo on Tuesday. With Mercury entering Virgo, we now have a Grand Cross in the Mutable Signs with Mercury in Virgo, Venus in Gemini, Saturn in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces.
The mid-week period could see us accelerating our pace. School supplies sales may be harkening back to school, back to our routine, back into the autumn; all the while that we are deep into our summertime activities and our pleasurable pursuits of relaxation and stepping off the track of our normality.
Our pace may pick up as we try to do it all and then some.
Let’s just avoid stumbling over ourselves as we race from one thing to another to…
The latter part of the week may have us engaging some pleasant activities with a special someone. Social interactions could be great fun into the weekend, and we might end the weekend with a strange, but fascinating, serendipitous encounter. We may be enraptured by the mysteries of living life even as we carom between re-creation and responsibility.
Monday, July 24th – From the Hour Glass A World of Possibilities – Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Mercury, Uranus. Monday begins the week feeling the full-force of yesterday’s Leo New Moon. The Moon continues in Leo with the Leo Moon today sextile Jupiter, the Moon trine Saturn, and the Moon sextile Venus. Venus opposes Saturn, and Mercury trines Uranus. This can be a highly creative day, just as long as we are not stymied. And what could put monkey wrenches in the spokes of our wheels to stymie us? To name a few impediments to the grand adventure this day could be: responsibilities, past experience, naysayers, and / or a person’s critique of our ideas. Monday allows us to be privy to insights, startling revelations and those serendipitous opportunities that arise virtually out of nowhere. As Richard Bach wrote in his spiritual classic Illusions: the Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah: ‘Don’t Limit the IS’. This Monday offers us the ability to step out of our normal existence and open ourselves to the extraordinary. Whether we take machete in hand and carve our own path along today’s journey, or we stay seated in familiar surroundings but free our mind to let our thoughts wander through the realm of possibilities and even what might seem impossibilities becoming possibilities; today has a taste of magic to it. We might experience or hear about certain mini-miracles, those situations that have no rhyme or reason to their happening, those random events that occur without pre-conditions. If we have tasks we have to address today, let’s do so and get them out of the way. This Monday is a day when we want to have our antennae up, work with peripheral vision and take advantage of any unexpected surprises that could have lasting impact.
Tuesday, July 25th – Hand on the Wheel – Uranus, Mercury, Mercury Virgo. Tuesday finishes the Moon’s transit of Leo and before exiting Leo to enter Virgo in the early morning hours, the Moon trines Uranus and the Moon conjuncts Mercury. The ‘ah-ha’ moments and flashes of genius that we might have encountered yesterday can continue into the early morning hours of this Tuesday. We are not solely engaging inspiring thoughts. Today we have the opportunity of putting our spirit into action, of taking some insightful concepts and giving them practical action. As Mercury enters Virgo, we lose the Leo Stellium. What we lose from our passion, determination and creativity, we gain with the practical application, the ability to put things in detail and focus on the specific pieces to the larger puzzle. Tuesday gives us the impetus to get things done without allowing anything to fall between the cracks. Tuesday is a day when we can have it going on. We’re still feeling highly creative. Keep in mind that triggered by Sunday’s Leo New Moon up to the Full Moon on the 7th of August, we are in a highly creative period, a time when we can express our talents and abilities. This Tuesday allows us to draw upon our passion and to do so with attention to the minutiae. We have our hand on the wheel and able to navigate the process of developing our interests into practical realities.
Wednesday, July 26th – Slowing Down – Lunar T-Square, Neptune, Saturn, Pluto, Sun, Mars. Monday and Tuesday could have been highly effective days, days when great ideas may have popped into mind and we were able to develop interesting new ideas in a pragmatic manner. Wednesday asks us to slow things down, all the while that our energy may be ramping up. The Sun conjuncts Leo, and everybody might be grandstanding and showcasing their stuff. Some people today might be legends in their own mind, and the hype can be stronger than the reality. And that would certainly tie in with today’s Lunar T-Square with the Virgo Moon opposed Neptune and the Moon square Saturn. If we get carried away with ourselves, we might assume that multi-tasking is a natural, instinctual ability of ours, and we would then try to do ever more. If we put some braking action to the A.D.D. qualities of the Mutable Sign T-Square, then we could work with the Virgo Moon trine Pluto aspect, an aspect that would allow us to prioritize, focus on the truly essential and get a great deal done by concentrating on the specifics that effectively make up the big picture. This Wednesday asks us to slow things down and not get caught up in a whirlwind of activity. By reining in our enthusiasm and self-absorption, we could be effective, productive and highly successful today.
Thursday, July 27th – Right Association – Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars, Sun. Thursday begins with the Virgo Moon square Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for nine hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra where today the Moon sextiles both Mars and the Sun both in Leo. Late on Wednesday, early Thursday, our relationships can be a little dicey. Either we are being highly critical of someone or someone is being hypercritical about us or it may be a draw with both parties having little good to say about the other. While Thursday could begin with us slightly irritated at someone’s inconvenience, the key to this day is the choice as to with whom we choose to dance. We are not interested in naysayers or anyone dedicated to raining on our parade. On the contrary, we are looking for someone to show us appreciation and admiration for who we are and for our talented self. Yes, if we don’t get what we want from one person, we’ll look to someone else for what we want. The early part of the day may have us out of sorts but as the day progresses we might attend the Mutual Admiration Society and get the praise and approval that we seek and feel we so richly deserve.
Friday, July 28th – No Going Down the Rabbit Hole – Jupiter, Pluto. Friday continues with the Libra Moon with the Moon late in the day conjunct Jupiter and the Moon square Pluto. Being a summer Friday, we might find ourselves skipping out of work, putting aside our responsibilities and hanging out instead the ‘gone fishing’ sign. Summer Fridays are made for extended weekends, and we are likely to take one on this Friday. There is not a great deal of energy during the day, much of the energy ramps up later in the day when we might choose to get together with that special someone or with good friends for a hot summer night. Since our thoughts can be geared to fun activities, we might neglect certain tasks and forget matters that we should have taken care of. No matter, tomorrow is another day, Monday the start of another week. We might feel that our summer activities are limited now that we are at the end of July, and we’re likely to want to go for all the gusto that we can. We may easily justify not attending to certain issues with the acceptance that we’ll get to them at some point, just not now.
Saturday, July 29th – Pay to the Piper – Saturn, Venus, Uranus. Saturday has the Libra Moon sextile Saturn, the Moon trine Venus and the Moon opposed Uranus. Late in the day, the Moon exits Libra to enter Scorpio. We may have certain commitments to fulfill on this Saturday. This is a day when our connections can make us aware of opportunities we might not have known about. Such people could offer us a perspective different from our own viewpoint providing us with insights and understandings that might have escaped us. Today is a day to meet with old friends and to encounter serendipitous exchanges. We can stretch beyond our usual parameters but with the safety net of trusted confidantes and supportive friends. We don’t have to go out on a limb, but neither do we have to be stuck on square one. This is a day to dance to the music, all the while recognizing that we shall need to pay the piper. Late in the day, we might choose to dance to our own tune, go our own way, but we don’t have to engage a tug-of-war with someone. We can engage our camaraderie but also have time for our own special space.
Sunday, July 30th – Strange and Inquisitive – Mercury, Mars, Sun, Neptune, Venus, Uranus. The Scorpio Moon on this Sunday sextiles Mercury, the Moon trines Neptune and the Moon squares both Mars and the Sun both in Leo. Venus sextiles Uranus. This Sunday may be one of those days when things seem curious and curioser. Our mind and our intuitive sense can be heightened, and it would be wise for us not to get in our own way by prejudging situations. We have to be wary that we don’t presume a know-it-all attitude, for we could be in for a comeuppance if we get too full of ourselves. Even if things seem a little eerie today, the gifts of this day may lie in unexpected encounters and a feeling about things that could fly in the face of our accepted beliefs or even empirical proof. Could there be a call to magic on this Sunday? Certainly, we might have a sense of extra-ordinary things occurring. No matter what we have planned for this Sunday, we might prefer to be open to the spontaneous and unexpected. People may surprise us, and much of what we have accepted as fact could seem more like fiction today. Even if the world, or even our personal world, seems to be turned upside down, this is a day to keep our antennae up, work with peripheral vision and pull back the curtain on the Wizard of Oz screen. What appears to be happening may be an interesting charade. Let’s keep our curiosity peaked and allow the day to unfold as it will.
