July 17th – 23rd, 2017

After what may seem a manic and wacky start to this week, the astrology for this week of July 17th through the 23rd can provide good times with good friends. We may all be living on the sun.

Let’s be careful as we begin the week. We could be fast out of the starting gate, stumble our way forward and question in which direction we are moving. Things may not be the way they seem, but we are still likely to race headlong to where, who knows? No matter how much fun in the summertime we wish to engage, leaping before looking could land us in a world of hurt.

Once we get beyond the beginning of the week, things may settle down and we are less likely to be impetuous and impulsive in our actions. Whether we stubbed our toes or scraped our knees, we can pick ourselves up and take a different tack.

Not that we don’t still want to go for the gold. Enjoyment, pleasure and gluttony can certainly be the theme for us this week. If ‘some is good, more is better’ might be our attitude and disposition during this week.

Social interactions and party times could be great fun, but we also have to be wary as to with whom we choose to dance. People may not be the way they seem, and we have to be on the lookout for tricksters.

The mid-week through the weekend experiences a major energy shift as both Mars and the Sun exit Cancer to enter Leo and the Leo New Moon on Sunday.

As if getting a transfusion, our own energies can shift from moody and highly emotional to vitalized and strongly creative. This second wind gives us the impetus to put our mark on our activities, to create and re-create, to fully enjoy the pleasures of summertime.

The weekend closes out with the Leo New Moon, an imprint for the next two weeks with high energy even to the point of extreme sports. We are into the height of the summer and looking for all avenues to have a good time and fully enjoy ourselves — hot times in the summertime.

Monday, July 17th – Watch Out, Look Out – Venus, Neptune, Mars, Uranus. Monday starts the week with a liability to the frenetic and the frenzy. The saving grace on this Monday is the Moon moving into Taurus where we might have some braking action on our impulses and rash behavior. Braking action there could be, and we can only hope so. For this Monday begins the week with Venus square Neptune and Mars square Uranus. This is a day for us to have eyes in the back of our head, to take everything with a grain of salt with recognition that what we see might not be the reality of the situation. Not only could we be snookered by someone who is charming, appealing and effuses their interest in our well-being, all of which may only be pretense to get from us what they want and possibly to our disadvantage. Fast and furious may be our tempo on this Monday. We could be in such haste that we don’t do our due diligence, don’t check things out and don’t evaluate the situation before rushing forward. And in our rushing forward, we could be so impetuous and impulsive that we also tend to be accident-prone. This is a day for us to slow things down, although such a suggestion may fall upon deaf ears. We can be so enamored with doing something, anything, that we race headlong into the day without direction or itinerary. Even if we make a mess for ourselves on this Monday, we can straighten things out during the week. But why make a mess when patience and deliberation can avoid the pain of self-inflicted hurt?

Tuesday, July 18th – Loving Me, Loving You – Neptune, Pluto, Mercury, Sun, Venus, Jupiter. If we did a number on ourselves yesterday, or had a number done to us, this Tuesday allows us to straighten things out and get back on a right track. The Taurus Moon today sextiles Neptune, the Moon trines Pluto, the Moon squares Mercury and the Moon sextiles the Sun. Venus trines Jupiter. Let’s be thankful for the Taurus Moon, which yesterday might have provided some very necessary braking action, and today allows us to put our house in order. Drawing upon foresight and our intuitive sense, we can prioritize our activities, embrace a level of humility that might have been lost in yesterday’s flurry of self-involvement, and be effective without expending too much energy. We do have to watch our tongue for any attempt at self-aggrandizement, since we are already likely to be in a Mutual Admiration Society, enjoying the company of someone else just as they are enjoying our company. This can be a productive day and also a day when someone compliments us, provides us with some worthy suggestions, and we feel good about our connections and significant relationships. Hopefully, yesterday may seem like a trace memory in retrospect, and we can use this Tuesday to kick off a much better tenor to the week.

Wednesday, July 19th – All the Right Pieces – Mars, Mercury, Saturn. The day begins with the Moon finishing its transit of Taurus with the Moon sextile to Mars. The Moon then moves into Gemini. Mercury trines Saturn. We can build upon yesterday’s productivity to take care of any number of things on this Wednesday. We have a thrust of energy to begin the day, but we are more likely to spread ourselves out rather than a singular focus. This is a day when we can be highly proficient playing the xylophone rather than playing a one-note Samba. Our mind is focused on how we can best proceed in a practical and expansionary manner. We want to shine, and our conversations show that we can cover any number of topics, think outside the box but still be very grounded and practical in our thoughts and considerations. If we have something to communicate, a case to be made, this Wednesday is a day when we can present our argument with passion, style and depth. While we might prefer to be out and about, that shouldn’t limit us from taking care of necessary matters and tying up loose ends, all the while that we are considering how best to broaden our activities. We are increasingly feeling a creative thrust and a desire to put our imprint on our various involvements.

Thursday, July 20th – Second Wind with the Need for Focus – Lunar T-Square, Neptune, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury, Sun, Uranus, Mars Leo. This mid-week period of Tuesday through Thursday can be highly successful and productive. We may get something of a second wind, feel invincible as if the world is our oyster, and with a pumped up sense of our creative abilities. We are feeling the increasing influence of the Leo energy and especially towards the end of this week. We do need to avoid any sentiment of becoming a legend in our own mind. Thursday continues with the Gemini Moon with the Moon today trine Jupiter and the Moon sextile Mercury. The Gemini Moon triggers the Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon conjunct Venus, the Moon square Neptune in Pisces and the Moon opposed Saturn in Sagittarius. The Sun squares Uranus and Mars exits Cancer to enter Leo. This is a day when we could be all over the place, hustling here, hurrying there. It might be wise to draw upon someone’s suggestions regarding how best to approach our schedule and our plans for the day. We could be so entranced by all the possibilities and have our adrenaline rushing that we could feel that we can do it all and then some more. Let’s put first things first today. Although we might be resistant to taking care of our obligations and tasks, dealing with them gets them out of the way and then allows us to do what we want without feeling like we’ve dropped the ball or are not realizing someone else’s expectations. Although we would like to do whatever captures our fancy today, responsibilities could feel like our wings are being clipped. The more we accomplish today, the more likely we can clear the decks to enjoy our weekend and even start it early on Friday.

Friday, July 21st – Down Time, Please – Uranus. After what could have been a fairly hectic week, we slide into Friday with a desire for a ‘time out’. The day begins with the Gemini Moon sextile Uranus before the Moon exits Gemini to enter Cancer. If we accomplished a great deal over the past three days, and we certainly could have done so if we engaged the energies that were available, then this Friday may be a day when we take our foot off the accelerator and either coast or keep our engine running in neutral. There is not a great deal of energy operating for us on this Friday. Puttering around home, dealing with family matters might be all that we can handle on this Friday. We might be looking at a fun-filled weekend, but Friday speaks more to a leisurely lunch and taking things slow. We can use this day to recharge our batteries after a wild and wooly week and to prepare for the weekend. This may be one of those days when we’re truly feeling like we’re living for the weekend.

Saturday, July 22nd – Push, Pulls or Reveries – Neptune, Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Pluto, Sun Leo. Saturday continues with the Cancer Moon with the Moon today trine Neptune and the Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Cancer Moon squares Jupiter in Libra and the Moon opposes Pluto in Capricorn. The Sun exits Cancer to enter Leo creating a Stellium of three planets in the Fixed Fire Sign as the Sun joins Mars and Mercury in Leo. Saturday has us on the dark side of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s New Moon in Leo. We might want to enjoy the comforts of home, lay out on the beach or just take it easy on this summertime Saturday. While such behavior would be nice in concept, we may have various commitments to fulfill and certain people to engage. On the one hand, if we could steal away and just have some re-creational time, we are likely to prefer it. On the other hand, it’s summer, the season of the year for outdoor activities and fun involvements. We might have to fulfill plans already made, but it would be wise for us to take some relaxation time even in the midst of the flurry of activities.

Sunday, July 23rd – Get Your Motor Running – Uranus, Leo New Moon, Sun, Mars. In the very early morning hours, the Cancer Moon squares Uranus. The Moon then exits Cancer to enter Leo and the Moon conjuncts the Sun at the time of the Leo New Moon and then the Moon conjuncts Mars. This Leo New Moon imprints the next two weeks up to the Aquarius Full Moon on August 7th, a Lunar Eclipse. This Sunday and the next two weeks could have us hell-bent for glory, or at the very least, hell-bent to have fun in the summer sun. With school supplies sales hawking their wares and reminding us of the impending school year and autumn approaching, we are at the height of the summer and want to fully engage summer fun before we find summer slip sliding away into autumn. With so much Leo energy coursing through our veins, we might ramp up our energies and go for the gold to the point of extreme fun and x-sports. If we can work with the energies, this Sunday and the New Moon can trigger a highly creative period, a time when we’re feeling as though we could rule the world and present ourselves in a well put together style. Everyone may want to be on center stage, whether their audience is just themselves or a larger crowd. People may be grandstanding but all in good humor. We’re at the height of the summer and wanting to shine with all sorts of summertime activities. Let’s shine but also be careful out there. Some people may be bumping and crashing around, so we need to keep our wits about us even as we get our motor running and head out into summer fun.
