June 12th – 18th, 2017

This week of June 12th through the 18th is the last week of the Spring season, and the astrology for this week can have us peering over our shoulder, our vision looking back in the rear view mirror and much of our attention focusing on past matters and bringing closure to outstanding situations.

The week begins with us likely feeling constrained by our usual tasks. We might far prefer to leap ahead, get off our routine track and engage new prospects and alternate involvements. Nice concept, but our desire to move into new directions can be encouraged by someone who has the best of intentions but could also create a sense of confusion for us with our liability to be enthralled by illusions, delusions and a trip through fantasyland.

Even if we seek to escape our mundane reality this week, we are likely to find old issues and past situations tripping us up. Should we find ourselves reflecting on our past or reconnecting with people from our past, let’s avoid a sense of remorse. We could fall prey to the ‘woulda, coulda, shoulda’ syndrome that dispels the blessings and the lessons learned from the journey we have taken. Our journey is our own personal journey, and each and every one of us goes through the hills and valleys of life experience. The beauty of our life is our own individual pathway, the trajectories we have chosen and the process of growth and development that life provides us.

The first half of this week can have us thinking about possibilities, while the latter part of the week and the weekend could have us more reflective regarding where we have been. We end the week on the weekend with Father’s Day, a day when we feel our obligations to our father, and often a time when we take a walk down Memory Lane. Let’s not flavor our recapitulations with what could have been but rather to see what we have gained and can be grateful for from our upbringing and our connection with the male archetype of our father.

Monday, June 12th – Jump Back, Jack – Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course. Monday begins the week with the Moon finishing its transit of Capricorn with the Moon square Uranus today. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for five hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius late in the day. This Monday might have us concentrating on the details and specifics of our lives. We may resent the fact that we are being tied down by our responsibilities, and we could feel as though our wings are being clipped. Let’s do what needs to be done on this Monday without a great deal of grousing. If we don’t deal with pressing matters today, then they are more than likely to come up for us to address later in the week. The evening hours can be a fun time of making plans and considering future options. The evening kicks off the next two days when we might be more future-oriented rather than present focused. This is a paradoxical day when we could be tied down by our obligations, only to throw open the gates wide in the evening hours for us to loosen the ties that bind.

Tuesday, June 13th – Fool’s Paradise – Venus, Lunar Grand Trine, Jupiter, Mercury, Neptune. Tuesday continues with the Aquarius Moon with the Moon today square Venus, and the Moon triggering an Air Grand Trine with the Moon trine Jupiter in Libra and the Moon trine Mercury in Gemini. Mercury trines Jupiter and Mercury squares Neptune. We can enjoy the camaraderie of someone today, and we might want to participate in everything and more. Let’s avoid engaging so much that we take on a dazed and confused perspective. Fun is fun, but enough is also enough. We are likely to feel upbeat, optimistic and confident about our plans. Where a problem might arise is a liability of taking things for granted and assuming that everything will work out just the way we want it to. If we forego due diligence, we do so at our own risk and possible cost. Not everything is likely to be the way that it seems. We could easily be sold a bill of goods today, for we are more impressed by the hope of our prospects rather than paying strict attention to the situation and the details. A cautionary note would be the old saying: ‘Fools rush in where angels fear to tread.’

Wednesday, June 14th – Flying High – Sun, Saturn. Wednesday has the Aquarius Moon trine the Sun and the Moon sextile Saturn. We may be feeling upbeat, confident and inspired. This is a day when we can channel our enthusiasm into creating a solid template upon which to develop our plans. We may have our head in the clouds but our feet firmly planted on the ground. We can expand our interests and activities in a methodical manner, drawing upon our experience and expertise, all the while that we are moving into new directions. We might choose to reach out to people from our past for advice and guidance. While our thoughts may center on prospects and possibilities, we are considering a best practices approach by which to expand our activities and develop new trajectories for ourselves. If we have dealt with pressing matters and resolved outstanding issues, then we can move forward in new directions today.

Thursday, June 15th – Taken a Toll – Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars, Sun, Saturn. Thursday begins with the Aquarius Moon sextile Uranus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for four and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes it transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces early in the day. The Moon later trines Mars today. The Sun opposes Saturn. There are times when we are gung-ho about new interests and change our focus from what we have to do to a focus on what we want to do. This Thursday could be one of those days. We might be far more enamored by our plans and our intentions than interested in dealing with our responsibilities. Unfortunately, there are times when we just can’t avoid taking care of business, and this Thursday is one of those days. We might feel hampered, even restricted, by our past or outstanding matters. We could have a sense of the wind being knocked out of our sails. While we might not have the same amount of energy that we normally have, let’s avoid falling into depression. If we need time to rest, relax and regroup, let’s do so. There’s no point pushing ourselves past the point of exhaustion. We might start the day without a great deal of energy, but we can gain a second wind later in the day. It’s always good to keep in mind that life has various cycles, times when we have a lot of energy, other times when we don’t have any energy. This Thursday can have us starting off on the wrong foot with little energy and tasks at hand. As the day progresses, we pick up our energy.

Friday, June 16th – Moody Swings – Venus, Neptune, Pluto, Mercury, Neptune retrograde. The Moon continues through Neptune-ruled Pisces today with the Moon sextile Venus, the Moon conjunct Neptune, the Moon sextile Pluto and the Moon square Mercury. Neptune turns retrograde. This Friday can be one moody day, and a day when we might prefer to find the escape hatch of anywhere other than where we are rather than deal with mundane reality. We can see things through rose-colored glasses, everything as perfect, but we could also be susceptible to illusions and delusions. This is a day when our emotions might rule, and it would be wise for us to avoid making definitive decisions or long-term commitments since we might not be fully aware of situations, their implications and the unintended consequences. If we could take this Friday to step off the track and go off into reveries, it might be far better for us to do so. Should we be able to keep our emotions in check, we might be able to visualize how best to realize our goals and achieve our ambitions. We may be better at seeing the big picture instead of the specific details, but intention is certainly the first step in any project before implementation or execution. The dream gives impetus to the reality.

Saturday, June 17th – Out of Sorts – Lunar T-Square, Saturn, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course. The day begins with the Pisces Moon triggering a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon square Saturn in Sagittarius and the Moon square the Sun in Gemini. We could be dealing from a high level of nervous energy as we start this Saturday. Any romps of escapism yesterday could leave us with a hangover as we start this Saturday. After triggering the T-Square, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for close to six and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries today. We might have certain errands to run, commitments to honor, and loose ends to tie up. We are at the end of the zodiac cycle as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and at the beginning of a new zodiac cycle as the Moon enters Aries. With the Moon in Aries on this Saturday we might choose to do whatever catches our fancy, especially if we have taken care of our necessary errands early in the day. After an emotionally wet two days, we gain greater fire as Saturday goes along.

Sunday, June 18th – Out of a Paper Bag – Lunar Grand Cross, Mars, Jupiter, Pluto, Sun, Uranus, Mercury, Saturn. This Sunday is Father’s Day, a day when we honor Dad, the male archetype for most of us. This Sunday is an action-packed day with the Aries Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign Grand Cross with the Moon square Mars in Cancer, the Moon opposed Jupiter in Libra and the Moon square Pluto in Capricorn. The Sun sextiles Uranus, and Mercury opposes Saturn. We could be all over the place on this Sunday. While our preference would be to do something on a spontaneous level without being inhibited or restricted by our commitments, this day does demand that we touch base with our Dad. We could be impetuous on this Sunday, trying to do too much or looking to assert our individuality. Diplomacy and awareness are called for, since this is one of those days when people are going to hear what they want to hear and are liable to be looking for possible slights. Let’s not overly personalize any thing today. As I often suggest, check the source and check their agenda. If we are traveling today, we might need to add on extra time to account for traffic problems or travel delays. This day can be a whirlwind, so it would be wise to slow things down, take things step by step and maintain a calm demeanor.
