February 13th – 19th, 2017

The astrology for this week of February 13th through the 19th puts the focus on relationships with Valentine’s Day on Tuesday and then a more incisive approach towards the end of the week.

We begin the week giving thought to those significant relationships both past and present that have added warmth, sparkle and lightheartedness to our lives. We may choose to not only reach out and express our appreciation for those people in our lives. We could also gift them with lovely indications of our gratitude to what they have contributed to us.

The early part of the week could tend towards the flamboyant and extravagant, and the latter part of the week can have us cutting away the dross and excessive. There may be quite a seesaw to this week with various swings between being completely open and incredibly reserved.

We begin the week with delays due to outstanding matters getting in our way or obligations to be accomplished. The more we can tie up loose ends, the better able to enjoy special moments with that special someone, or those special people, in our life.

Mid-week can have us trying to do too much, possibly elongating Valentine’s Day into Valentine’s Week. Interactions with other people may be front and center and force to the back of the line some of our personal interests and responsibilities. This mid-week can have us all over the place, even to the point of stumbling over ourselves.

The latter part of the week provides the energy for us to pare down our involvements, concentrate on the truly meaningful and dispense with the irrelevant and inconsequential.

We might have partied and enjoyed rapport with various people early in the week, but the latter part of the week can have us holding our cards close to our chest, more reserved and introspective.

From extrovert to introvert in one short week, but this seesaw continues as the weekend looks to be a more expansive time. We may have cut away some of our activities towards the end of the week, but the weekend may have us looking to spread our wings and engage more experiences foreign to our usual nature.

Over the weekend, the Sun exits Aquarius to enter Pisces, the last Sign of the Zodiac wheel and the Sign that brings completion to the astrological year prior to the Vernal Equinox in March that celebrates the beginning of the astrological year as the Sun enters Aries and we enter Spring. We have four more weeks of winter, but Spring can be felt knocking on our door.

Monday, February 13th – Have To, Want To – Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course. Monday begins the week with the Virgo Moon square Saturn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eight hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra later in the day. We may have much on our plate as we start the week. Responsibilities, past obligations and preparations for tomorrow’s Valentine’s Day can have us hopping. We might be a little grouchy as we start the week, feeling put upon, but let’s keep in mind that energies shift and change and so too with the energies on this Monday. If we would merely grin and bear what needs to be done and do it, we can get some irritants out of the way. Let’s put first things first on this Monday, for if we try to rush the river some of our intentions for tomorrow and this week could have an aura of peevishness. Tying up loose ends, bringing matters to completion provide a clean and open space for fun get-togethers with other people over the next two days. This is a day when addressing those things that we have to do then allows us the time and space to do the things we want to do.

Tuesday, February 14th – No Massacre Today, Please – Venus, Mercury, Mars, Sun, Saturn. Tuesday is Valentine’s Day, and with the Moon in Libra the energy is ripe for the gratitude for and appreciation of that special person and those special people in our life. The Libra Moon trines Mercury and the Moon opposes both Venus and Mars. The Sun sextiles Saturn. We can be highly pleasant and engaging today. We may want to chat people up and reach out to people with whom we have had little contact recently. We could go through our entire list of friends, past and present, and touch base with them, send greetings and remind them of the good times we have had with them. What we have to be wary of on this Tuesday is high expectations, one of which might buy into the attitude of ‘what have you done for me lately?’ If we go narcissistic on people, we could have a nasty pushback. Why go there when we can be charming and diplomatic and appreciative of the blessings in our life? We might have to put our personal interests on the back burner today, but that’s only understandable when today is all about gifting and concentrating on other people than on our self.

Wednesday, February 15th – Too Much of a Good Thing – Saturn, Sun, Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter. Wednesday continues with the Libra Moon with the Moon today triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Moon conjuncts Jupiter, the Moon squares Pluto, and the Moon opposes Uranus. Later in the day, the Moon sextiles Saturn and the Moon trines the Sun. Wednesday begins with us trying to do too many things. Our juggling can be associated with all the things that we have to do, responsibilities placed upon us, our own desires to do something of our own interest, and more engagements proposed by someone else. We might have a full plate today and then some. We could start the day in overdrive with plans to attend everything we feel we need to along with various curveballs of additional involvements. While we might be fast out of the gate this Wednesday, it would be wise for us to try and slow things down and plan out our day. In making our plans for the day, it would be suggested we do so in pencil with a big eraser, for today can provide us unexpected situations that we might either want to or have to take into account. Although we could stir ourselves up into quite a frenzy in the morning hours, the latter part of the day slows things down and allows us to be more strategic in what we have to do. Someone might show their appreciation for who we are and what we do with their high praise. We might feel as though we have been running around for much of the day, but things straighten out as we progress through the day.

Thursday, February 16th – A Winning Case – Mercury, Mars. Thursday sees a dramatic shift in energy, as the Moon moves out of Libra and enters Scorpio. Mercury sextiles Mars. We might be more self-possessed today, less reactive and less responsive to someone else’s concerns or perspective. This is a day when we can make a strong and persuasive argument for our intended plans. Not only do we have a certain mystique about us today, but our communications can be on point with a passion and determination that our future goals might presently be in the abstract but we have what it takes to successfully achieve our intentions. We may appear less open than we have over the past few days and that could prove a winning asset. We can project a sense of depth that is fathomless and even indiscernible but also seems intensely strong and committed. We might not want to reveal everything that is going on, but teases we offer can be intriguing and enticing. This is a day when we can make our points, keeping things succinct and concise, and offer the listener[s] the understanding that they gain something worthy from our intended efforts.

Friday, February 17th – Too Much Information – Neptune, Mercury, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course. Much of the energy on this Friday occurs in the morning hours. The Scorpio Moon today trines Neptune, the Moon squares Mercury and the Moon sextiles Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for twenty-three and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius on Saturday. This is a day when it would be wise for us to draw upon our intuitive sense to consider what we need to release and the areas we wish to prioritize. Other people’s input could prove confusing at best. We do need to watch our tongue, for we might be a little vehement in our discussions to the point of seeming belligerent and offending someone. This is a day when we do not need to prove our point but rather deal with our own interests even behind the scenes. Too much information could give away the concepts we have in mind before they have been given birth. This day is better focused on tying up loose ends, prioritizing and not getting caught up in our future goals. Let’s keep our feet on the ground and take care of practical realities instead of giving much thought to future endeavors. As the day progresses, the energy dies down and we might prefer some quiet time at home without any pressure on us or high expectations, our own or someone else’s.

Saturday, February 18th – Moody – Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Sun Pisces. Saturday continues with the Scorpio Moon Void-of-Course for the first half of this Saturday. We might choose to do our errands early in the day, get rid of the extraneous in our lives and concentrate on our home surroundings. The second half of the day has the Moon exiting Scorpio to enter Sagittarius, and we might want to spread our wings and explore new terrain. Saturday also has the Sun exiting Aquarius to enter Pisces, the last Sign of the Zodiac. The Sagittarius Moon squares the Pisces Sun. We have to watch our mood swings today, for we could go from highs to lows and back again. We might feel constrained or restricted by everything around us, and we have to be wary of a liability towards seeing the half glass of water as half empty rather than half full. This is a day when we could be protesting against the ways of the world, current events or some of the frustrations in our personal life. Let’s try and avoid whining, since no one is truly interested in the emotional drama if it is a day-in, day-out ordeal. Getting down by the water, listening to uplifting music and seeing the beauty in all things are a better prescription than feeling victim to the vagaries of this paradigm shift where things can occur in a most inexplicable manner. Welcome to the asequential reality of these times, where empirical evidence gives way to random happenings.

Sunday, February 19th – Stretching Beyond – Venus, Neptune. The Moon continues through Sagittarius on this Sunday, and today the Moon trines Venus and the Moon squares Neptune. This is a ‘ME’ day, a day to do what we want without anyone or anything holding us back. We are in exploration mode, wanting to stretch beyond our usual parameters. While we might feel impetuous to get going on this Sunday, it would be wise for us to have a direction and itinerary in mind. Without preparation, we could find ourselves going from one place to another, from one thing to another, but with a liability of going around in circles. Getting out of Dodge is often recommended as a way to shake the cobwebs from our mind, to step into our unfrequented pathways and to have a fresh perspective regarding what is going on in our lives. This Sunday allows us to consider what we project to do, how we intend to do it, and consider whether it reflects our true nature or just a caricature of who we are.
