The astrology for this week of January 30th through February 5th could prove a bumpy ride. We are under the influence of this past Friday’s New Moon and the beginning of the Chinese New Year of the Red Fire Rooster.
The week begins pleasantly enough with us likely to be in dreamland. Our intuitive sense can be heightened and our emotions reinforced. If we do not fall into maudlin reveries, we can use the beginning of the week to plan, devise and strategize. Our foresight could prove helpful in developing our plans both in regard to the means to achieve our goals and our being able to envision the realization of our goals.
We might assume that we are divinely guided, privy to amazing revelations and spot-on prognostications, but the channels of communication late on Tuesday, early Wednesday could be staticky. Due diligence is called for, possibly neglected to the rush of incoming information, some of which could be awfully wrong. We could have communication issues, traffic problems and various misunderstandings.
The mid-part of the week gives us a second wind. We may want to be fast out of the starting gate to initiate and launch new projects that truly speak to us. Let’s keep in mind that the time of the waxing Moon from New Moon to Full Moon is a good time to get things going, develop our plans and engage growth in our life’s journey. Under the influence of this past Friday’s Aquarius New Moon, we can begin our journey into new trajectories that are more in keeping with what we want to do and how we want to do it. Autonomy and freedom are key elements to our future progression.
Although we’re ready to go for the gold, we also have to be wary that we don’t get too cocky, overoptimistic and assume that by our wanting it will be so. Nice concept, and certainly one born of recent generations, but such an attitude doesn’t always work in the real world.
Friday has Venus exiting Pisces to enter Aries and thereby creating a Stellium of three planets in the Cardinal Fire Sign as Venus joins Uranus and Mars in the Mars-ruled Sign of Aries. Spring may still be six weeks away, but we could easily be champing at the bit to engage the promise of renewal and rebirth that the Spring season offers.
The weekend allows us to get our house in order, add some fine touches to our environment and even the possibility of a personal makeover. We are more interested in our possibilities than our past experiences. We can engage searching out the clues of our scavenger hunt, but it would be wise for us to see the clues as but hieroglyphic indications rather than explicit demarcations.
Monday, January 30th – Reflection Then Implementation. Neptune, Mercury, Pluto. Monday starts the week with the Pisces Moon conjunct Neptune and the Moon sextile Mercury and Pluto both in Capricorn. We might be rather moody as we start the day. We could decide to play martyr or savior but why waste the energy on such maudlin games? Instead, we can use the beginning of this Monday to conceive what we wish to achieve, visualize what we want to realize and then take plans in hand and implement what our foresight has offered us. This can be a highly productive day so long as we maintain a certain detachment. We could easily fall prey to a victim mentality whereby we feel that we, or others, are victims to the game of life. Such a disposition is at the very least self-defeating and a huge waste of our energy. If we would draw upon our intuitive sense, our inner knowing and in the quiet of our own space develop the means to accomplish our goals, we could virtually move mountains today. The key to the effectiveness of this day is the spiritual discipline of detachment — not getting attached to our own misery or to the miseries of other people. This is a day when we can be a spiritual warrior, focus on the truly meaningful in our lives and develop the best practices approach to realize our goals.
Tuesday, January 31st – Off Like a Shot – Saturn Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars, Mercury, Uranus. Tuesday continues with the Pisces Moon with the Moon today square Saturn and the Moon conjunct Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over four hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries where today the Moon conjuncts Mars. Mercury squares Uranus. We may feel held back by our responsibilities or our obligations and our desire to make things better for someone. Let’s keep in mind the wise and true saying that ‘you can help lift a burden for someone but you cannot carry their burden for them.’ We might be called upon to assist someone today, and our compassion way well be engaged. The question of how we assist is paramount and not whether we are going to assist. As the day progresses, we could be far more interested in beginning some project of our own, an involvement that has our own personal imprint upon it and also fully engages our passion. We do have to be wary that we have full information before proceeding in any new direction. We could get some miscues and consequently participate in an activity that can be frustrating and leads us nowhere. The Mercury square Uranus is my least favorite energy configuration for air travel and also warns of miscommunications, misunderstandings and computer problems. Whatever we hear we need to take with a grain of salt and evaluate what we hear before we accept it as gospel truth. We also have to avoid shooting from the lip akin to the saying ‘loose lips sink ships’.
Wednesday, February 1st – Step by Step – Sun. February begins on this Wednesday with the Aries Moon sextile the Sun. We may want to get on with the new — new projects, new friends, new interests. As though putting into practice our resolutions and our intentions for this new year and this first year of a nine year cycle, we might use today’s energy to move forward our plans and our goals. We seem more together today, less contentious within ourselves and with other people. Our attitude today could exemplify the ‘live and let live’ sentiment. We are interested in doing our own thing and we are happy if other people are engaging their own passions as well. We might reach out to various people today, friends and strangers, anyone who can assist us in moving our goals forward. We can feel pretty good about things, but it would be wise for us not to get carried away by our enthusiasm without covering the necessary bases. Let’s keep in mind rhythm and pace and the law of cycles. There are good times, there are difficult times, but the more we can maintain the buddhic balance the less likely we are to be carried away by the extremes of irrational exuberance or downright despair.
Thursday, February 2nd – Biting Off More Than We Can Chew – Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Uranus, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course. Things may have gone swimmingly yesterday, even if we only lolled about. We could have felt recharged, reinvigorated with a sense of all being right in the world, at least in our personal world. Where a problem with such a disposition might arise is a tendency to believe that when it’s good it’s got to continue to be good. Thursday could show us otherwise. Not that Thursday is necessarily a bad day. The liability for this Thursday is that we expend all our energy in one fell swoop early in the day, run around like a chicken with their head cut off, and wind up exhausted having tried to do too much and not accomplishing as much as we anticipated. Thursday has the Aries Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Moon conjuncts Uranus, the Moon squares both Mercury and Pluto in Capricorn, and the Moon opposes Jupiter. The Moon does trine Saturn before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for nine hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before the Moon enters Taurus late in the day. A Cardinal Sign T-Square is also completed today with Mercury transiting Capricorn having squared Uranus on Tuesday [aargh with confusion in communications, travel and computer issues] and with Mercury squaring Jupiter today. With so much pent-up energy released today, we could be all over the place today, assuming we can do it all and ever more. No matter how many things we start today, this is a day when we can get a lot going but without much follow through. Fortunately, before things go quiet, we do have the ability of straightening things up, tidying up and bringing closure to some situations. The other situations may be left dangling to be completed another day.
Friday, February 3rd – Perfect Me – Neptune, Sun, Venus Aries. Friday has the Taurus Moon sextile Neptune and the Moon square the Sun. Venus exits Pisces to enter Aries, creating a Stellium of three planets in the Cardinal Fire Sign as Venus joins Uranus and Mars in the Mars-ruled Sign of Aries. We may be up for a personal makeover today or, at the very least, wrapped up in our own personal world. Our sense of compassion for people suffering in the world can diminish as we shift the focus more to all about ME. Even relationships can get a little dicey due to people being more concerned about their personal selves than whatever is going on with someone else or other people. At the same time, we might feel more energized, impelled to do our own thing and may look to strike out on our own. This shift in attitude may be disconcerting for some people, so the more diplomatic we can be in our relationships the less likely people will feel that we’re tromping on their toes. Let’s beware of a liability towards narcissism with everybody more attentive to looking in the mirror at their reflection than in being receptive or considerate of someone else’s needs.
Saturday, February 4th – All the Right Ingredients – Pluto, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course. Saturday begins with the Taurus Moon trine Pluto and Mercury both in Capricorn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eighteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Taurus and before the Moon enters Gemini late in the day. This Saturday is a day when we can put everything together — whether it’s a personal makeover, shopping for our Spring wardrobe or dealing with sprucing up our home environment. Everything seems to fall into place neatly with nothing out of place and nothing more than the truly necessary. This can be a highly productive day, for we are likely to be very grounded. The energy on this Saturday is quite different from the ups and downs, swings around, that we might have experienced during the week. Whatever we set into motion, even if we did so in a hasty and haphazard manner during the week, this Saturday allows us to get the specifics right, the details in order and with a concentration on the truly significant. We may take things step by step but it’s unlikely that there would be a misstep today. If we can wrap up outstanding matters today, then we could use tomorrow to further enjoy the scavenger hunt of checking out this, checking out that. But today calls for us to do what needs to be done to straighten, tidy and declutter.
Sunday, February 5th – Nothing to Be Missed – Venus, Mars, Neptune. Hopefully, we used yesterday to clean up our act and tie things up, for this Sunday could be a whirlwind of exploration. The Gemini Moon today sextiles Venus and Mars in Aries and later in the day the Moon squares Neptune. This is a day to engage the kaleidoscope of possibilities, the myriad of personal interests. We don’t have to commit to any one thing, and it would probably be best if we didn’t. This day is far better for sampling than for fully engaging. We might not be clear about what our explorations might mean and they might not mean anything. Trying to figure things out could only lead to confusion. It is important for us to enjoy and participate, try things out, test the waters but no diving into the deep end. The clues in our scavenger hunt may be mysterious and we might not understand what they truly mean for us until days, months or years down the road. Why bother to try and decipher the hieroglyphics when we might not fully understand the language?
