November 21st – 27th, 2016

The good news of the astrology for this week of November 21st through the 27th of 2016 is that we are leaving the Scorpio energy behind and entering a Stellium of three planets in Sagittarius.

Maybe, just maybe, we could start walking on the sunny side of the street. It would be nice if we would engage some semblance of peace and harmony, and we might even start the week off that way.

The beginning of the week seems pleasant. We might feel upbeat, inspired, even optimistic about our future. We might be more interested in looking at the far horizon than the mundane affairs. This is Thanksgiving week in the US, and we could even take some ‘time out’ to appreciate the blessings in our lives and give thanks for all the wonderful people that make our lives sparkle. We can even recognize that we really don’t have it so bad in comparison to so many people in the world.

The early part of this week can have us in a good mood and confident that no matter what is thrown our way we always have the capability of turning lemons into lemonade.

The mid-part of the week and the latter part of the week could see the energies shift from light and lilting back down to hand wringing and drawing lines in the sand.

If we plan to travel mid-week, it would be wise to add on extra time, for there can be delays and traffic issues and protests to contend with that might frustrate our scheduled travel arrangements.

Get-togethers over Thanksgiving could be like walking on eggshells, and it would be suggested that we concentrate our discussions on friendly topics about what each of us has been doing, our prospects for the future and other non-contentious topics. It is a nice idea to keep gatherings enjoyable, but matters regarding recent current events might try to seep into the conversations. Don’t go there!

This latter part of the week could be indulgent, whether our indulgences are in food ingestion, imbibing spirits, shopping sprees or expressing our personal opinions. Let’s avoid the caveat offered in the classic Buffalo Springfield song:

“There’s battle lines being drawn
Nobody’s right if everybody’s wrong…”

If we step across the line, we could find discussions turn into arguments with people digging in their heels regarding their respective opinions and winding up in the extreme with friendships and relations being broken and unsalvageable.

The weekend allows for insightful information, an awakening, or a revelation of sorts. If we are willing to be open to receive new input, we could be surprised by our ability to look to the far horizon and future prospects.

With the Sun entering Sagittarius we now have a Stellium of three planets in the Mutable Fire Sign with the Sun joining Mercury and Saturn in Sagittarius. Even if we are still smarting, elated, fearful, or hopeful from the US presidential elections, we have the opportunity of turning our focus to our personal worlds with a desire to expand our interests and broaden our perspective.

The strong Sagittarius influence over the next couple of weeks can have us preparing for the holidays and looking forward to shifting our attention to social gatherings and hopefully good cheer. As the Taoist story I noted recently advises us, the bottom line is that ‘We’ll see’.

Monday, November 21st – Picking Up the Pieces – Sun, Neptune, Sun Sagittarius. The week begins with the Moon finishing its transit of Leo and moving into Virgo. We might draw our attention to the specifics of our lives with a desire to wrap up loose ends before we fully launch into the holidays. This is Thanksgiving week in the US and the start of a six-week holiday period. We start the day with the Leo Moon square the Sun in Scorpio. After the Leo Moon squares the Scorpio Sun, the Sun moves into Sagittarius followed by the Moon entering Virgo where in the late day hours the Moon opposes Neptune. We may feel a burst of confidence and enthusiasm about our own personal interests today, but we could also find ourselves slightly confused about what to prioritize and how best to proceed. If we don’t rush to judgment, we could use the energy to draw upon our foresight and imagination to devise a best practices approach to the realizing of our dreams. This is a day for us to take things step by step and not get diverted by emotional reactions to the world around us.

Tuesday, November 22nd – Master Builder – Venus, Mercury, Pluto, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Jupiter. Tuesday is a day to concentrate on what lies right in front of us. We might be amping over getting ready for the upcoming US Thanksgiving holiday long weekend and the start of the holiday-frenzied retail sales. If we are planning on traveling, our attention might be on the preparations for our travel. If we are staying put but hosting family and friends, then our preparations may be geared to the holiday meal and tidying our home space. Tuesday has the Virgo Moon trine both Venus and Pluto in Capricorn. The Moon also squares both Mercury and Saturn in Sagittarius. Mercury sextiles Jupiter. Whatever our scheduled activities might be, it would be suggested that we focus and concentrate on what needs to get done rather than letting our minds wander to faraway places and trivial distractions. If we have too much going on and don’t plan out our day, we could find ourselves scattered and running around in circles. We can feel buoyed by planned get-togethers with family and friends. Much of the activity seems centered around the early part of the day. Pulled in different directions, it would be wise to do as much as we can early in the day. Some of us might choose to skip out as the day progresses. The energy dies down as the Moon goes Void-of-Course for twenty-six hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra on Wednesday.

Wednesday, November 23rd – Poking Along – Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Mercury, Saturn. Wednesday begins with the long Void-of-Course Moon that began yesterday with the Moon finishing its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra later on this Wednesday. Late in the day, the Libra Moon sextiles the Sun. Mercury conjuncts Saturn. In the US this is often referred to as the one of the busiest, if not the busiest, travel days of the year with it being the day before Thanksgiving. With the energies operating today, we have to be wary of being frustrated or delayed. Things may take longer than we might like today. Let’s add on extra time and a hefty dose of patience to deal with today’s energies. We might have last minute details to address before we log out for the day. We also have to be cautious since anxieties and concerns could be ratcheted up. As long as we are aware of our surroundings and mindful of what we are doing and how we are doing it, we can deal with whatever the conditions might be. If we are getting together with friends and family for the Thanksgiving holiday tomorrow, we may have second thoughts about the gathering. We might want to affirm repeatedly to ourselves that we shall avoid or steer the conversation from any discussions about the US election.

Thursday, November 24th – Attitude of Gratitude – Mars, Venus, Pluto, Jupiter. Thursday is Thanksgiving in the US, the day when we gather with family and friends and give thanks for all the blessings in our lives. Let’s keep it that way. The Libra Moon today trines Mars, the Moon squares both Venus and Pluto, and the Moon conjuncts Jupiter. Jupiter squares Pluto. We may have the best of intentions to be upbeat and pleasant in our interactions with other people on this Thanksgiving Day. There is a saying, often proven quite true, that ‘the pathway to hell is paved with good intentions’. While this can be a highly sociable day, it could also be a time when people become stuck in their opinions, attached to their perspective and choose to pontificate their thoughts and ideas. The US election has been a sore point for many people. Some people are scared or terrified and then flip into being angry and belligerent. Unless we keep the conversations light and avoid election topics, this day could have some bumps in the road as a result of divergent opinions. I’m reminded of the sage story of the blind men with each one touching a different part of an elephant and each one perceiving that part of the elephant as something totally different from the others. This story dispels the concept of absolute truth and reaffirms our perception of reality as being based upon our limited perspective. It would be wise for us to keep this story in mind on this day and cut everyone a little slack regarding their personal observations of what is going on in the world at large.

Friday, November 25th – Shop ‘Til You Drop – Saturn, Mercury, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Pluto, Jupiter. The Libra Moon today sextiles both Saturn and Venus, and the Moon opposes Uranus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over eighteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio early Saturday morning. In the US this Friday is Black Friday, the day when retailers fling open their doors with eager anticipation of ringing up a multitude of sales. For retailers in the US this day rivals China’s Singles Day, the 11th of November which this year saw the Alibaba Group process sales of a record US$17.8 Billion. There is a saying that ‘when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping’, and we could certainly see evidence of that on this Black Friday. Apart from the Libra Moon supporting our interest in other people and consequently holiday shopping both for ourselves and for other people, this Friday also has Venus conjunct Pluto and Venus square Jupiter. People may be looking for bargains and bargains there may be on this Black Friday to entice people to come out and shop. As we learn from a television program like American Pickers, once an initial purchase is decided upon it often opens the floodgates and gives our credit cards free rein for further purchases. With everything that has gone on over the past few weeks, many of us may seek an escape in that favorite American pastime of shopping. It would be wise to budget our monies and to be practical in our determinations.

Saturday, November 26th – Serendipity and Revelation – Neptune, Mercury, Uranus. Saturday could prove to be the best day of this week. The Moon enters Scorpio where today the Moon trines Neptune. Mercury trines Uranus. After the highs and lows of the week, we might choose to use this day in a rather spontaneous manner. Having some alone time to be with our thoughts and our feelings could allow us to be more aware and astute as to how we wish to proceed. We might also hear some startling news, experience interesting encounters and be privy to the magic and mini-miracles of these times. If we could avoid heavily scheduling this day, we would be able to engage unexpected situations that might arise. This can be a fun-filled day of serendipity and revelation. By the end of the day we might affirm that ‘all is right in our world’. Let’s keep in mind that we are crossing the threshold of a paradigm shift, moving from the linear, sequential reality where we assumed that we had to make things happen. We are crossing into a phase where we are co-creators with the universe unfolding, entering an asequential reality where things occur often without reason or rationale but rather in a most unexpected manner as if by happenstance. What a load off our shoulders!

Sunday, November 27th – Are you Experienced? – Mars, Pluto, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course. The Scorpio Moon today squares Mars and the Moon sextiles both Pluto and Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for twenty-three hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius on Monday afternoon. We might have all sorts of plans or opportunities to do things on this Sunday. We might prefer to pick and choose, to rid ourselves of the extraneous and focus instead on the truly meaningful and situations that would advance our ambitions. This is a day when we could remove ourselves from the hury-burly and concentrate on specific tasks and projects we wish to engage. It’s the end of the Thanksgiving long weekend, and we might spend some of our Sunday preparing to get back on track with our regular routine.
