October 31st – November 6th, 2016

The astrology this week of October 31st through November 6th might prove more of a treat than a trick. There are some pleasant energies this week so long as we take the path less traveled and develop our own interests and projects.

The week begins with Halloween and the last day of October. Similar to nature at this time of year, we might be looking to pare down, concentrate on the truly meaningful and not get overly distracted by the crazies running rampant in the world-at-large.

Let’s reaffirm the power of mind over matter. We might allow ourselves times of reverie when we consider a world of possibilities. Our imagination may be flush with all sorts of prospects. We need to stay aware that time is a human concept drawn upon certain quantifiable measures, but time is also an illusion for all there is truly is the NOW.

Whatever we conceive has a reality of it’s own. The more we fan the flames of possibilities in our mental imaging and seeing our possibilities as real, the more likely we are to manifest and make our dreams come true with the recognition and full appreciation that we are co-creators with the universal unfolding. The universe and our destiny might have far greater plans for us than those we dream up.

We may be in a highly expansive mood at the beginning of the week with a tendency to expand our options and cast our eyes to far horizons.

The latter part of the week and over the weekend gives us the impetus to put spirit into action and methodically design the practical ways to make our goals realities.

Surprising interactions with someone over the weekend could open other doors for us, provide alternatives and choices we have not been aware of.

We have one foot in the practical reality of advancing our interest, the other foot inching towards fascinating distractions and diversions.

The week closes out on Sunday with us exploring new terrain. The fall back into standard time in most of the US could impel us to more than one extra hour of sleep. It may be a laid back Sunday but with halftimes of errands and chatting up friends.

Monday, October 31st – Too Astute to be Tricked – Pluto, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course. The week begins with the Scorpio Moon sextile both Pluto and Mars in Capricorn. Late in the day during the overnight hours, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for twelve hours as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio without further connections to the planets and before the Moon enters Sagittarius on Tuesday morning. We can be highly focused on this Monday, sifting through various aspects of our lives in an expeditious manner. We may be silent and deadly today, concentrating on our goals and what we want to get done. We can cut to the core and eliminate the dross all the while focusing on the truly important. We could be like a steamroller today and be methodical and a force to be reckoned with. This is a day for us to take the bull by the horns, exercise decisive actions and accept our role as the primary conductor of our lives. There is no fooling us today. We might be intense and not highly communicative, but our insight and our ability to get to the heart of any matter can be spot on.

Tuesday, November 1st – Contemplations and Compassions – Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Neptune. Tuesday begins with the Scorpio Moon Void-of-Course that began last night and continues into the morning hours of this Tuesday with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius today. The Sagittarius Moon today makes no connections to the planets. While there can be a subtle shift in our moods with a tendency to shift our focus from the minutiae and the specific to the broad and expansive, the key player on this first day of November is the Sun trine Neptune. Our emotions are heightened. We see ourselves from a spiritual viewpoint with a likelihood of appreciating what we have given, even sacrificed, from a vantage point of compassion and sensitivity. We could spend some of this day contemplating our journey through this life experience, the various paths we have taken and the different trajectories we have engaged. If we do reflect on where we have been, where we are and where we seem to be heading it would be wise to both appreciate our individual process and take an attitude of bemusement. As the saying goes: ‘life’s too mysterious to take it serious’. Even when we have a definitive goal in mind, the unfolding has a will of its own and provides various twists and turns along the way with the end result often being not where we intended to go. Our sensitivity can be increased, but it is our moods, emotions and sensitivities that make us human.

Wednesday, November 2nd – Would You Like to Swing – Neptune, Jupiter, Saturn. Wednesday continues with the Sagittarius Moon with the Moon today square Neptune, the Moon sextile Jupiter and the Moon conjunct Saturn. Our increased sensitivity yesterday can trigger extreme mood swings today. Although our focus may be on expanding our activities and maintaining a positive attitude, we might find our commitment slightly wobbly. If we awaken slightly confused as to what to do and what to do next and whether we have the resources to get things done, we could start the day off key. It would be wise to plan out this day. Various opportunities can be presented to us. We might feel as if we could take on the world. We might want to deal with our usual tasks before we engage new options. Other people may encourage us, tell us that things are easier than they might appear, but often things are far easier in concept than in execution. This is a day to put the horse before the cart, attend to what needs to get done and then embrace new possibilities. If we do not take the time to schedule our day, we could find ourselves in a whipsaw of emotions, ending the day depleted and feeling defeated. Addressing pressing needs first then allows us to take advantage of other opportunities that could open up for us during the day.

Thursday, November 3rd – Devising, Planning, Strategizing – Venus, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Pluto. Thursday continues with the Sagittarius Moon with the Moon conjunct Venus and the Moon trine Uranus in the early morning hours. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for seventeen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn late in the day. Mercury sextiles Pluto. We can start the day with a thrust of energy and interested in developing new activities, taking new trajectories. We are likely to be in an upbeat mood looking to expand our activities and broaden our reach. This is a day when we can have our head in the clouds and our feet firmly planted on the ground. Not only are we interested in options and alternatives to our regular involvements. Our mind is focused, laser-like and able to see the truth to any matter. We can cut away much of the extraneous and get to the core of a situation. We could quickly evaluate various possibilities and see which hold merit and those that are merely pipedreams with little chance of being realized. This is a primo day where we are feeling our oats and also incisive in our thinking. Things may tantalize us but we’re not likely to fall prey to the shallow or the absurd.

Friday, November 4th – Neatly Fitting Without Being Distracted – Neptune, Jupiter. Friday has the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today sextile Neptune and the Moon square Jupiter. We can put spirit into action today. While our focus may be on our responsibilities and our goals, we can also see the larger picture, the purpose behind what we are doing. Our intuitive sense could be strong and our feelings about things right on. While we might feel guided in our accomplishments today, we do have to be wary not to take on other people’s issues. We could feel so effective with a strong sense of compassion that we might embroil ourselves in other people’s dramas. It would be wise not to go there since the outcome could be a lose-lose situation. If we help them out, they might not be appreciative but resentful of our capabilities. If we don’t assist, then we could become victim to the blame game whereby their expectation of our assistance and of our solving their issue creates a wedge in the connection. This is a day to do what we wish to do to advance our interests but to maintain detachment and objectivity regarding someone else’s matters.

Saturday, November 5th – These Magic Moments – Sun, Pluto, Mercury, Uranus, Venus. Saturday can be one of those special days when our mundane reality is interspersed with sparkling surprises. The Capricorn Moon sextiles the Sun, the Moon conjuncts Pluto, the Moon sextiles Mercury and the Moon squares Uranus. Venus trines Uranus. This is a day when we can attend to errands, focus on clearing away some of the clutter in our lives and be very practical in regard to what works and what doesn’t. But as the old proverb suggests: ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.’ While we might be focused on what we have scheduled for this day and may have our eyes concentrating on what lies straight ahead of us, it would be wise for us to look up and look around occasionally in order to be aware of unexpected situations and serendipitous connections that might occur. This is a day when magical interludes can enter into our lives. Any such mini-miracles might give us a boost, make us aware of options and could reinforce the sense that things can occur without our making them happen. We do need to avoid being so taken by distraction that we totally step away from what we need to get done. We can enjoy the momentary thrills of the unanticipated but fully engaging them may have to wait for another day. We could get an inkling of prospects but it might be premature to totally embrace them.

Sunday November 6th – Kicking Back – Mars. The Capricorn Moon conjuncts Mars before the Moon enters Aquarius. The Moon in Aquarius makes no connections to the planets today. In much of the US, this is the day when we fall back by changing our clocks from summer time to standard time and in the process gain an extra hour of sleep. We might enjoy the extra hour, whether we use it to sleep in or we bounce out of bed with all good intentions to get things done. No matter what our intentions for this day could be, we may prefer to just kick back and let the day unfold as it might. Getting together with friends or going out of town would seem preferable to any commitments made for today in times past. Spontaneity could be the hallmark of this Sunday but without a great deal of energy exerted. Although it might sound strange, the changing of the clocks can throw off our own individual time cycle clock. Consequently, it could take a day or two to get our changing times sea legs. Let’s take it easy today and not force any thing. This is a day not to try and make things happen but rather to enjoy the natural unfolding and what it can offer up to us.
