October 24th – 30th, 2016

The astrology this last week of October, from the 24th to the 30th, can be a mixed bag of extremes. We might be celebrating Halloween early with various tricks and sundry treats. Yup, we’re again likely to feel back on the roller coaster of ups and downs.

The week begins with us looking to put a creative spark on our projects or to take a sideways trajectory from our regular routine. We may be feeling good as we start the week, taking into account the prospects for our future.

As the week progresses, we could become increasingly critical, finding flaws and accentuating faults rather than embracing the perfection of imperfection. Everyone may seem to have been on edge recently, and certainly the US elections impose increased anxiety to our daily lives.

In our relationships we might wonder whether we are doing the dance with Jekyll or with Hyde. If we could traipse through illusions and accept that everything being wonderful, we are less likely to feel the emotional swings of giddiness down to depression.

This is a week that calls for balance but balance may be hard to find. The more we can focus on the truly meaningful, maintain a healthy skepticism regarding what seems to be going on and appreciate the blessings in our lives, the less impacted we shall be by the negativity and hostility stirring about.

The latter part of the week allows for pleasant get-togethers whether we are celebrating our good fortune or appreciating the fact that we are all in this together.

The weekend can be dicey and calls for extreme caution. The liability of accidents is strong but triggered largely by acting without thinking. Let’s draw upon our brain before engaging our brawn. Pulled muscles, back spasms might result if we overexert ourselves.

The weekend ends with us cavorting in Fantasy Land. With the Scorpio New Moon impacting the next two weeks, we might find ourselves following engaging promises, lofty possibilities but also prey to illusions and things too good to be true. Let’s keep our wits about us, take everything with a grain of salt, and perform our due diligence.

Monday, October 24th – Pleasant Diversions – Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury Scorpio. Monday begins the week with the Leo Moon trine Uranus. We might be upbeat and wishing to continue this past weekend into the early part of the week. We are far more interested in unexpected situations that might come our way than our regular routine. We are looking to add a little spice to our lives on this Monday. After the Moon trines Uranus early in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost fifteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo late in the day. If we can put off to tomorrow what we should be doing today, we are likely to do so. We don’t want to be tied down, don’t want to answer to someone else and would far prefer engaging the spontaneous and spur-of-the-moment today. Mercury exits Libra to enter Scorpio today. While we might have been relatively [and I do emphasize relatively] diplomatic and accommodating to the interests of other people recently, much of that is going out the window as we sharpen our tongue with a liability of being caustic, sarcastic or just keeping our cards close to our chest. Not everything is likely to be revealed.

Tuesday, October 25th – Prey to the Trickster – Mercury, Sun, Venus, Neptune. Tuesday starts off with our focus on doing what needs to be done and checking off those items that we are truly done with. If we can pare down some of our responsibilities and involvements, we are likely to do so. Tuesday begins with the Virgo Moon sextile both Mercury and the Sun in Scorpio. We can go through outstanding matters and expeditiously resolve them, whether we complete them or discard them as inconsequential. While we have a head of steam early in the day to attend to our responsibilities and obligations, the latter part of the day gets more convoluted and confusing. The Virgo Moon triggers a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon square Venus and the Moon opposed Neptune. Venus squares Neptune. Someone or some thing may send us mixed signals. Although we might still be in something of a hyperactive, and effective, mode, we have to be wary that we don’t buy into first impressions. What seems to be happening might not be the reality of the situation. While we could be focused on the minutiae and the details, we could lose sight of the bigger picture. It would be wise for us to slow things down, allow some of the dust to settle before we arrive at any conclusions. Substance and appearance might not match. Let’s keep in mind the concept of the coyote, often referred to as the trickster. The coyote has a haunting song that often allures its prey into its grasp.

Wednesday, October 26th – Back on Track – Saturn, Pluto, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Jupiter. Wednesday begins with the Virgo Moon square Saturn. If we fell for some seduction late yesterday, we might be emotionally reeling as we start this Wednesday. We might have committed to doing something, only to add on extra weight to our intended schedule. Even if we awaken in a funk, let’s get over it, buck up and take care of the demands in front of us. If we would refuse to engage the pity party of one, this day could prove highly productive, a day when we could virtually move mountains. The Virgo Moon trines both Mars and Pluto. By getting into harness and prioritizing our activities, we can be expeditious and effective in getting things done and advancing our interests. Late in the afternoon, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost nineteen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra on Thursday. Wednesday also has Venus sextile Jupiter. Even if we got suckered yesterday and wound up not knowing which end was up, Wednesday puts our relationships back on an even keel, and we might even connect with someone at a distance who can put a smile on our face and celebrate our positive attributes. The Mutual Admiration Society is always a welcome greeting.

Thursday, October 27th – Wondering, Questioning, Reflecting – Sun, Mercury. The day begins with the Void-of-Course Moon in Virgo, but early in the day the Moon moves into Libra. The Moon makes no connections to the planets today. There’s not a great deal of energy on this Thursday. The Scorpio Sun conjuncts Mercury. After two days where we might have been whipsawed by confusion and disappointment, only to see the sun finally come out and shine brightly on us, we could be left with questioning, wondering and reflecting on what is truly going on in our lives. Wednesday can be something of an internalized day, a day when we are not revealing everything that we are considering. We might be holding our cards close to our chest. We can be thinking about things but not liable to share what we are thinking. This is a day when we can be ruminating about our lives, considering where we want to pare down and what we want to concentrate on in the days ahead. If we do discuss with other people, we might be concise and succinct in our conversations, leaving people to decipher what is really going on with us. We do have to be careful not to come across as caustic and critical.

Friday, October 28th – Reach Out of the Dark Now – Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Pluto. Friday has the Libra Moon conjunct Jupiter, and the Moon sextile both Venus and Saturn in Sagittarius. Late in the day, the Moon squares Pluto. We might far prefer to hang out with someone, make the day a leisurely day and even contact people far afield. While much of the day can revolve around our connections with other people, we might not accomplish our routine tasks or take care of our obligations. We might leave certain things on the table, which might create an overhang during the weekend as we realize that we have certain tasks we should have performed before the weekend but just didn’t. With the ups and downs of this week, this Friday might be a day of penance, a time when we make up with certain people or touch base with them to be certain that we haven’t offended them over recent days. The day can be pleasant, but let’s avoid any rash actions or impulsive decisions. Today and tomorrow we are likely to run ahead without taking into account the parameters, circumstances or conditions. Let’s slow down and enjoy a leisurely Friday. Later in the day and tomorrow the energy ratchets up considerably. As Saturday indicates, we need to be careful out there.

Saturday, October 29th – Be Careful Out There – Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Saturn. Late Friday and all of Saturday could prove quite intense, largely thanks to Mars square Uranus. Saturday has the Mars Uranus square reinforced by the Libra Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Moon opposes Uranus and the Moon squares Mars. The Moon goes Void-of-Course for close to sixteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio late Saturday. We are also on the dark side of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s Scorpio New Moon. Saturday also has Venus conjunct Saturn. Friday night and Saturday are prone to accidents, acting impetuously, acting out and other unexpected incidents. Have you noticed that everywhere in the world seems to be heating up with anxious concerns, violent actions and a sense of craziness gone wild? We could hear about various incidents happening late on Friday or on Saturday, and we might all be on edge. This is a time to be careful, be a defensive driver and be mindful and highly aware as to what is going on around us. We might have certain social commitments that could seem more obligatory than fun. Let’s avoid feeling pressed to do anything that we don’t want to do. We may want some good times, but this Saturday could be better spent at home, but keeping away from machinery or any other accident inducing equipment.

Sunday, October 30th – If Only – Scorpio New Moon, Sun, Neptune, Mercury. Sunday gives us the Scorpio New Moon and the imprint for the next two weeks. The Scorpio Moon today conjuncts the Sun, the Moon trines Neptune and the Moon conjuncts Mercury. Mercury trines Neptune. We may be blissed out in our happy, safe place and susceptible to all sorts of images, presentations and seductions. What we see may not be what we get. We could easily buy into the Wizard of Oz screen without bothering to pull back the curtain to see the little guy pulling the strings. And why should we? If we can enjoy pleasant reveries, we are likely to do so. Life is often hard enough not to engage an escape hatch. And escape we are likely to do, whether into our apps, video games, social media, sports events or other forms of entertainment. For those who choose to forge ahead no matter the circumstances, this day and two-week period can be a time of making plans, drawing upon our intuition and accepting fully the affirmation: ‘where there’s a will, there’s a way’. This could be a most productive time when we focus on doing more with less, draw upon the sound advice of an objective colleague, all the while that we are sifting through and separating, as best we can, fact from fiction.
