The astrology this week can be enlivening as we officially move from summer into autumn and also bring closure to the three-week Mercury retrograde cycle.
The week begins with a tendency to chatting up people. We might contact various people, some of whom we haven’t had connection with for a while. Catching up on news and learning of people’s summer events can be great fun. We might hear of different creative involvements that could be the light under our own fire for self-expression.
Not only are we being personable and chatty. We are also likely to be incredibly astute, able to pierce the veils of images and appearances to root out what is really going on with the ability of cutting to the core and getting to the essence of any situation.
The mid-week period can have us all over the place, juggling any number of things. We might have an inner sense of one season ending, another beginning and also realize that the dysfunctional energy we might have experienced over the past three weeks is coming to an end [or so we can only hope!].
Thursday can be a significant day. Mercury turns direct and the Sun exits Virgo to enter Libra at the time of the Autumn Equinox to herald the beginning of the autumn season. Thursday is also the 22nd of the month, the number in numerology that is an indication of the ‘Master Builder’. We may feel that we are truly at the beginning of something grand and may wish to use peripheral vision to consider a broad palette of options and alternatives.
While we can be focused and could concentrate on the truly meaningful, someone might suggest ideas that prove to be only diversions and distractions from our forward progress.
Let’s also keep in mind that whenever Mercury changes direction, whether from direct to retrograde or in our present week case from retrograde to direct motion, things can get squirrely. It takes us a bit of time to adjust to the shift in energy, so it would be wise to keep in mind the liability of traffic delays, computer glitches and miscommunications.
The end of the week has Venus exiting its own Sign of Libra to enter Scorpio, a Sign of its Detriment where Venus is not at all comfortable. We have to be wary that pleasantries don’t devolve into jealousies, that graciousness isn’t supplanted by cattiness.
The weekend can start with us doing fall cleanup projects and errands, and the weekend may close with some fun events and pleasant get-togethers.
Monday, September 19th – Sprucing Up – Neptune, Venus, Mars. The week starts off with the Moon in Taurus sextile Neptune and Venus sextile Mars. We might have it all together today. Not only are we looking good, we may add a little mystique to our appearance. Interactions with other people can be upbeat and scintillating. This is a day for us to extend ourselves, to reach out and engage people even those who are far away. We have a polish to ourselves, and our ‘feel good’ disposition can be contagious. This is a good day for us to buy items for our wardrobe or accents for our environment. Our intuitive sense can be strong and we can fit all the pieces neatly into the puzzle. This is not a day to withdraw but rather a day to engage. Just as we give to others, we are likely to receive a bounty of admiration. Good things can happen to us if we are open to receive and see the world with a little awe and wonder.
Tuesday, September 20th – Right Positioning – Lunar Grand Trine, Pluto, Mercury, Sun. Yesterday might have had us preparing for today. We might have readied our appearance and the necessary fundamentals to use this Tuesday to put everything in place. This Tuesday can be a highly productive day. Our mind is focused and laser-like. The Taurus Moon triggers an Earth Grand Trine with the Taurus Moon trine Mercury in Virgo and the Moon trine Pluto in Capricorn. Mercury trines Pluto, and the Moon trines the Sun. Although we need to keep in mind that we are dealing with Mercury retrograde and the recognition that things can get increasingly squirrely as Mercury is stationing and about to shift directions on Thursday with Mercury ending its retrograde cycle to turn direct, we can use this day to develop a best practices approach to accomplish our goals. Although we need to evaluate and re-check our intentions, we can devise the most expeditious means to accomplish our goals and present our projects in a most appealing package. Everything seems to fit neatly together today, and it would be wise for us to take care of our daily responsibilities while maintaining an eye on our long-term goals. This is a day when we could virtually move mountains and, if that’s our plan, let’s use a winch rather than breaking our back.
Wednesday, September 21st – Too Good to Be True – Jupiter, Lunar T-Square, Neptune, Saturn. The Moon moves into Gemini on this Wednesday with the Moon today trine Jupiter and the Moon then triggering a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Gemini Moon squares Neptune and the Moon opposes Saturn. We may start the day in an upbeat mood, feeling like we have the world on a string and everything under control. Someone might add to our self-admiration and compliment us on how we are looking and what we have been doing. Arrogance and narcissism can create a sense of being a legend in our own mind and therein lies the rub, the pitfall and the liable downfall for us. We could buy into a sense that we are god’s gift to the world, that we are omnipotent and invincible, and we might then decide to take on more and more. Wednesday could wind up with us juggling ever more, taking on things that are solely distractions and have little reason for our involvement, and dealing with old matters. Not only could we exhaust ourselves. We could also confuse ourselves whereby we end the day running around in circles like a dog chasing its tail.
Thursday, September 22nd – Autumn Leaves as it Begins – Uranus, Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Mars, Autumn Equinox, Sun Libra, Mercury direct. Thursday is a major, major change day. We continue with the Gemini Moon with the Moon today sextile Uranus and the Moon triggering a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Mercury and the Moon opposes Mars. Mercury turns direct ending its three-week cycle and the Sun exits Virgo to enter Libra at the time of the Autumn Equinox. This is a day when we could be all over the place but with a liability to running in different directions and considering various trajectories. With Mercury turning direct, we may still be a little wobbly in regard to our communications and in regard to taking care of the details of our lives, a possibility increased by the sense of trying to do too much and ever more. Wednesday and Thursday can be fairly frenetic. We just have to try and slow things down, not get caught up in the frenzy of activities and pick and choose what we wish to engage. Let’s keep in mind that the symbol of Libra is the scales but like the scales there can be the tendency of going between extremes before finding the middle path or equilibrium. Let’s try and avoid too many wild swings today and keep in mind the art of balance.
Friday, September 23rd – Avoiding the Limitations of the Past – Lunar Grand Trine, Venus, Sun, Jupiter, Neptune, Mercury, Pluto, Venus Scorpio. The Moon enters Cancer where today the Moon squares both the Sun and Jupiter in Libra, and the Moon triggers a Water Grand Trine with the Moon trine Venus in Scorpio and the Moon trine Neptune in Pisces. Mercury trines Pluto, and Venus exits its own Sign of Libra to enter Scorpio, a Sign of Venus in Detriment where Venus is not at all comfortable. Our sensitivity can be turned up today, and we might choose to spend time with friends and family. We do have to watch that we don’t overly accommodate someone else’s desires. We could be very nurturing today and wanting to make things pleasant for other people. Let’s evaluate and check what is going on before we to accede to someone’s request. We need to be ruled by our critical thinking skills today and not pulled by our heart. Compassion is one thing, enabling something else. If someone pulls on our heartstrings today or draws out what seems to be an I.O.U. and says that we owe them, let them make their case and validate their request of our help. We might also consider an autumn cleanup around our home and workspace. If we get rid of the clutter, whether stuff or past unhealthy habit patterns, we can clear our space and be far more expeditious and effective in what we can do.
Saturday, September 24th – High Gear – Mercury, Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course. Saturday can have us operating in high gear dealing with some of our planned schedule for the day and addressing unexpected incidents that might arise. The Cancer Moon today sextiles Mercury and the Moon triggers a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Cancer Moon opposes Pluto and the Moon squares Uranus. If we didn’t rein in our empathy and compassion yesterday, we might have committed ourselves to someone else’s projects for today. Although we would prefer on this Saturday to do our own thing, we could find part of our day involved with situations that are not of our making but rather a consequence of our being too nice and accepting someone’s request for help. If we need to deal with other people’s issues, then let’s grin and bear it, do it without complaining and then have time for our own thing. We might be flat out today, going from one thing to another, but it would be wise to plan our day with the recognition that unexpected matters could crop up that need our attention. Let’s schedule our day with some blank space to deal with any unanticipated incidents that might come up. This is also a good day for autumn projects of cleaning up and clearing out, getting rid of stuff that we don’t use. With all the activity on this Saturday we might be exhausted by the end of the day and ready to recharge by getting a good night’s sleep. Late on this Saturday, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for twelve hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer and before the Moon enters Leo tomorrow.
Sunday, September 25th – Enjoying Our Companions – Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Sun, Jupiter. We start this day with the Moon Void-of-Course, and we might choose to sleep in or lounge about as we start this Sunday. No spring out of bed on this Sunday, but once we get going we can be looking for some good times with good friends. The Moon moves into Leo today with the Moon square Venus and the Moon sextile the Sun and Jupiter both in Libra. We could easily justify expenses for our good time, but we might want to keep in mind that having a good time does not always equate to spending a great deal of our monies. Let’s budget our time and our expenses today, for our enjoyment may be more in association with whom we are spending time rather than how we are spending our time. Let’s keep in mind that ‘living simply is not simply living’. We might want to embrace the saying: ‘the best things in life are free.’ This can be a fun day whether we observe other people’s creative expressions or participate in our own creative self-expressions. We end the week on an up note and can appreciate all the blessings in our life.
