Summer is in full force this week. Whether we are out of town or planning our travels, our thoughts and our focus are largely far from our daily routines.
The week begins with us concentrating on our tasks at hand, taking care of what needs to get done. We may feel the need to clear the decks in order to have some free time to do whatever we might choose to do — getting out of Dodge or just giving ourselves some ‘down’ time.
The sirens of distant possibilities are beckoning this week, calling us to step away and broaden our perspective and engage prospects that seem beyond our reach. The future may seem tantalizing and a nice relief from present circumstance. We can engage the mirage of misty tomorrows and give thought to the means to cross the chasm from the present into the unknown potential.
Meanwhile, the circus is in town, this week in Cleveland with the Republican National Convention, next week in Philadelphia with the Democratic National Convention.
The mid-week period could be a time of reaching out to friends, making plans and seeking pleasurable outdoor activities. We can easily justify taking a ‘time out’ with the appreciation that we often need to step away from our daily rituals in order to get a fresh spin on things, figure things out and see our conditions more objectively than when we are fully enmeshed in them.
There is a great deal of Leo with Mercury and Venus joined on Friday by the Sun creating a Stellium of three planets in the Fixed Fire Sign of Leo. With the Sun exiting Cancer, we lose the Grand Trine in the Water Element. The Grand Trine in Fire is heightened and further ignited by Uranus in Aries, the three planets of the Sun, Mercury and Venus in Leo, and Saturn in Sagittarius. There can be much drama, a great deal of pontificating and substantial hot air. Hot times in the summertime.
The latter part of the week and the weekend may have us looking for escapes. We might choose to get out of town, go to the beach or lounge by the pool. We could participate in various sports, go to a movie or decide to hide out in the sanctity of our own space.
The end of the weekend might give us a rush of energy and the desire to find a creative outlet to express ourselves.
Monday, July 18th – Due Diligence – Neptune, Pluto. Monday begins the week with the Capricorn Moon sextile Neptune and the Moon conjunct Pluto. This is a day when we could accomplish a great deal. We can draw upon our intuitive sense and focus on our priorities. We may feel impelled to tie up loose ends and get things done. There may be a serious overtone to the day as we consider what we are doing and whether what we are doing is the means to reach our potential and operate at our optimum. We can fantasize about possibilities and even develop an expeditious trajectory by which to get from where we are to where we might want to go, at least from our present vantage point. This is a day when we can virtually move mountains, not so much by our pure will as by utilizing a winch and easily drawing things to us. We are on the threshold of our new tomorrows, but it would be wise for us to always keep in mind the admonition that sometimes the grass seems greener somewhere other than where we are but in reality could turn out to be only Astroturf with the appearance enticing, the reality not so much.
Tuesday, July 19th – Dodge Ball – Jupiter, Mars, Capricorn Full Moon, Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Sun, Mercury, Saturn. Tuesday has the Capricorn Full Moon with the Moon today trine Jupiter, the Moon sextile Mars and the Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Moon square Uranus and the Moon opposed the Sun. Mercury trines Saturn. This Tuesday can be a highly active day with us looking to accomplish a lot, deal with our routine responsibilities and address home and family matters, all the while that we might be dodging incoming unexpected situations that force us to juggle ever more. Our mind may be focused and we could come up with a best practices approach for all that we intend to do on this Tuesday with some additional time allowed for those unanticipated pop-ups during the day. We might be a little officious assuming that we know how to do anything and everything and willing to engage other people’s matters when we believe those people to be incapable of effectively handling their own issues. We have to watch that we don’t communicate our ideas as if pronouncing them from on high with us being divinely inspired. We could be, and other people could be, a little much on this Tuesday. If we start something today, let’s be certain that we have the time and inclination to follow through. This is a day when we could be looking at initiating, become distracted and then jump to something else before completing what we had already begun. By planning our day and our itinerary, we can avoid being drawn away by distractions.
Wednesday, July 20th – Touching Base – Saturn, Venus, Mercury. Wednesday has the Moon in Aquarius with the Moon today sextile Saturn and the Moon opposed both Venus and Mercury. Venus trines Saturn. We might choose to reach out to people with whom we haven’t been in contact with for a while. Whatever plans we make today, let’s try to be receptive listeners. We could be a little gung-ho regarding what we want to do and how we want to do it that someone might feel as though we are steamrolling them. Let’s avoid having a tug-of-war with anyone. We may be more interested in doing something other than our usual activities today. Having a good time with good friends could be foremost in our mind, but let’s be collaborative regarding what we might do with other people. Nobody likes grandstanders but various people may be elbowing each other in order to be on center stage. This is also a day when we have to be wary of being promised the next best thing to sliced bread. Prospects and possibilities might seem enticing but they demand due diligence to see what lies beyond the image, presentation and the hot air.
Thursday, July 21st – New Directions Within Bounds – Uranus, Mars. Thursday continues with the Aquarius Moon with the Moon today sextile Uranus and the Moon square Mars. We are not interested in convincing anyone of anything. We enjoy the quirkiness of the characters in our life. This is a day for us to consider options and alternatives. Discussions can open our eyes to new concepts we might not have taken into account. We do have to be wary of not jumping at anything that excites us, for our interest may be more associated with engaging something different from our routine and we might go whole hog in our engagement. Let’s consider new possibilities but let’s also be aware of what new projects might cost in terms of time, energy and expense. If we are carried away by the potential of an idea without doing our due diligence, we could find ourselves throwing money into a bottomless pit. This is a day for us to consider new trajectories but within the realm of what is reasonable and possible. Otherwise, we could head off into the nether regions on only a wing and a prayer.
Friday, July 22nd – Master of Our Domain – Saturn, Sun Leo. The Moon moves into Pisces and the Moon squares Saturn today. The Sun exits Cancer to enter Leo. In so doing, the Sun ends the Grand Trine in the Water Element, creates a Stellium of three planets in Leo as the Sun joins Venus and Mercury in the Fixed Fire Sign, and gives greater force to the Fire Grand Trine with the three planets in Leo, Uranus in Aries and Saturn in Sagittarius. This is a time when our creative juices may be flowing, a time when we want to put our personal imprint on our projects and on our life, and a time of year when we recharge our batteries and gain a greater sense of our own abilities. The main issue today is belief, a belief in our own abilities, a belief in our unique talents and a belief in our individual journey. We could feel as though we have gained a second wind. Certainly some people will seem pumped up, crying their worth from the highest steeple. We do not have to be belligerent in believing in ourselves or even try to convince other people of our worth. But we do have to believe that we can meet any challenge and take advantage of every opportunity that presents itself. We have to avoid falling prey to fear, whether that fear is our own self-doubt or a fear that the circumstances we face are daunting and too much for us to overcome. Let’s keep in mind that fear is often based upon the unknown parameters of a situation, not knowing all the facts and even what we might be privy to, fear could actually turn out to be only the acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real. We do not have to go out and tilt against windmills Quixote-like, but let’s not allow any doubts to prevent us from embracing our passion and silencing our voice. Late in the day we could get moody, even sullen. Let’s not fall into a pit of bad feelings. If we do, let’s recognize that we might be overtired or just not in the right head space to evaluate matters.
Saturday, July 23rd – All This and More – Neptune, Pluto, Jupiter. Saturday continues with the Pisces Moon with the Moon today conjunct Neptune, the Moon sextile Pluto and the Moon opposed Jupiter. If we ended Friday out-of-sorts, we could start this Saturday in an anxious, emotional state. We could call up all sorts of demons in our mind. Our imagination may be vivid, but as we start the day it would be important for us to rein in our mental meanderings and focus on what we want to get done on this Saturday. It would be wise to prioritize our interests for this Saturday, whether those interests entail errands and responsibilities or engage a day in the country, at the beach or in soul reflections. A ‘time out’ at some point during this day will help us center and give us a healthy respite to re-align ourselves back into a balanced and well-being state. Late in the day, we might put more on our plate, decide that our best elixir is high activity and participate in any number of goings-on. By taking some time to escape from the mundane today, we can garner a second wind and be back in the fast lane during the late afternoon and evening hours.
Sunday, July 24th – Here Comes the Sun – Mars, Sun. Whatever we did on Saturday to enjoy ourselves and to give ourselves a transfusion of uplift could prove to have a beneficial effect on this Sunday. The day begins with the Pisces Moon trine Mars before the Moon moves into Aries where today the Moon trines the Sun. We can feel restored, renewed and reinvigorated on this Sunday. We may have more energy, a greater passion about our personal pathways and a feeling that all is right in the world, well, not the world at large but at least in our own personal world. We might jump out of bed, decide to go for a brisk walk or a run, but no matter what we choose to do we have gained a great deal of energy and are looking to expend some of it. As the day progresses, we might want to do something that we truly enjoy. It can be as simple as breaking our diet and having an ice cream, or it could entail taking a spin out of our local environs and seeing different parts of our world. This Sunday we can feel like we’re soaking up the sun and basking in the radiance of our own inner light.
