May 30th – June 5th, 2016

This week is the unofficial start to Summer, and we might look to extend the long US Memorial Day weekend past Monday further into the week.

We may be more interested in initiations and starting things up than in maintenance or follow through. Even if the official season hasn’t started, we’re likely to be in summer gear. Ah, yes, those lazy, hazy days of summer.

The early part of the week can have us considering all sorts of possibilities and the likelihood of having various irons in the fire. We might not want to tend the fire but we like to see the sparks and flames. They seem to invigorate us and make us feel that we’re in charge of our lives. Is it the primal assertiveness of fire?

The mid-week period may find us hitting some bumps. Responsibilities could get in our way just as we are exploring new interests and considering new activities.

There is nothing like an impulse purchase to get us out of our funk, and whether we are feeling funky or just champing at the bit, we could have the tendency, or the liability, to buy something under whatever excuse or justification we can rationalize.

Towards the end of the week and over the weekend, it would be wise for us to watch our expenses. Even if we know that we should curb our expenses, we might feel entitled and go on a bender with impulse purchases and various indulgences.

The Mutable Sign Grand Cross is ratcheted up this week. We could be all over the place, feeling an itch under our skin and trying to alleviate the itch by scratching here, there and everywhere. Let’s watch the whipsaws for the ups and downs and spun all around could prove to be extreme.

Monday, May 30th – You Must Remember This – Mars, Mercury, Pluto. Monday in the US is Memorial Day, the last day of the long holiday weekend that launches the unofficial start to the summer season. Whether we have put on the grill recently or not, we are likely to be lighting the grill and sharing good times with friends and relatives in celebration of… good times. The Pisces Moon trines Mars. Indulgences of food and drink can be part of this Monday. Whether we are off on holiday or have our regular routine engaged, the liability to excess and extreme measures cannot be discounted. Our emotions can be heightened and our moods can take us soaring with the eagles or crashing down in despair. It would be wise for us to keep a handle on our feelings today, since we might be doing nothing in half measure but rather everything over-the-top. Late in the day, the Moon exits Pisces and enters Aries and Mercury trines Pluto. Whether we have stepped off the track today or not, a brief reprieve from our usual habit patterns might have given us a second wind and prepared us for focusing our intentions on our long-term goals and prioritizing our planned activities. We may revel in our festivities during the day, but the evening hours have us ready to burst out of the starting gate with itinerary in hand and destination in mind.

Tuesday, May 31st – This And More – Venus, Sun, Saturn. Tuesday has the Aries Moon sextile Venus and the Sun, both in Gemini, and late in the day the Moon trine Saturn. Encouraged by someone or something we hear, this Tuesday could have us considering all sorts of involvements. Not that we want to hunker down with nose to grindstone and concentrate on just one thing. No one note Samba for us. We would far prefer playing the xylophone today, hitting one note, then another, participating in one thing, then another, but without spending too much time on any one thing today. This is a day for us to rifle through the world of possibilities, taking into account all prospects without discarding any nor evaluating any one in full detail. We can slide through this day as though walking through a fun house whereby we are entranced by the constant stimuli without lingering at any one. We may be like a kid in a candy shop, our eyes wide in the vast assortment of goodies but unable to choose just one. We might be giddy during the day egged on by our own desire to do things differently and on our own terms. Late in the day, we could get a little more serious, take a more strategic approach and winnow down to those things that would draw upon our experience and our expertise and might be practical use of our time.

Wednesday, June 1st – Not So Fast, Bucko – Pluto, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Neptune. The grass always seems greener from the other side, or so they say. Our excitement of yesterday’s wide range of prospects may have been seductive, but much of the enticement might have been as a result of things being beyond where we are. Wednesday gives us a good heads-up, or possibly a whack on the side of the head, that just because we would like to be somewhere other than where we are we cannot escape our present surroundings and our responsibilities. Wednesday is ‘hump’ day in the work week, but this Wednesday has the liability of a slam down day. The Aries Moon squares Pluto and the Moon conjuncts Uranus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eleven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before the Moon enters Taurus late in the day. In the evening, the Sun squares Neptune. Wednesday could prove to be one mixed-up day. We might want to do whatever we want to do, but our tasks and obligations could be like the sword of Damocles hanging over us. It would be wise for us to attend to our responsibilities rather than negating them or postponing them. Once we do what we need to get done, then and only then can we explore our options and take a different trajectory into new realms of interest. We might feel a little out of sorts today, somewhat spacey and making our moves in a tentative fashion. Let’s keep in mind that checking out possibilities does not necessitate commitment but rather a mere sampling of situations.

Thursday, June 2nd – Clear Signals – Neptune, Jupiter. Thursday has the Taurus Moon sextile Neptune and the Moon trine Jupiter. This can be a highly effective day. Our intuition can be heightened, and we might know exactly how to present our case and successfully appeal to other people. Our appearance is well put together without a hair out of place. We have it going on today, both in regard to our image but also with our ability to address every specific, every detail. This is a day when the signals are clear as to how to proceed. We may add a little mystery that draws people in. If people assume that we are offering only hype, we would dispel that notion by our having our facts lined up and a solid presentation. This is a day when image and substance can mesh nicely and effectively. If we have things to be done, cases to be made, this is a day for us to do so. The next two days could be a little squirrely with things spinning out of control. This Thursday has the energy for us to have it all together. It would be wise for us to be productive on this Thursday since Friday and Saturday could be over-the-top with all sorts of craziness going on.

Friday, June 3rd – No Dark of the Moon For Us – Pluto, Mercury, Mars, Sun, Saturn, Venus, Neptune. Friday is in the dark of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s Gemini New Moon. While we often consider the dark of the Moon to be a time for us to lay low, gather our forces in preparation of the new beginnings signaled by a New Moon, this Friday is unlikely to see us laying low and marshalling our resources. On the contrary, we might feel as though the gates have opened. Let’s just hope that they’re not the gates of hell. Friday has the Taurus Moon trine Pluto, the Moon conjunct Mercury and the Moon opposed Mars. The Sun opposes Saturn, and Venus triggers the Mutable Grand Cross by creating a Mutable Sign T-Square today with Venus square Neptune and Venus opposed Saturn. Tomorrow is a replay with the energies ratcheted up even more. Friday could have us focusing on what we need to attend to with various curveballs in the ways of distractions and diversions repeatedly thrown at us. Our nerves might be shot and we could feel exhausted but impelled to do this, that and the other. We could have a tendency to try and take on too much, spend too much, engage too much. Yes, the too muches may be in vogue today, tomorrow, and actually over the next couple of weeks. It would be wise to make our shopping list before going out and to be aware of ‘fun’ money or ‘crazy’ money with the amount determined before we go shopping as to how much we are willing to spend on impulse purchases. We could be stepping out on a whirlwind of activity today and for the next while. We need to be careful what we buy and buy into — returns and agreeing to things on a tentative basis make far more sense than ironclad agreements.

Saturday, June 4th – That Crazy June Moon – Lunar Grand Cross, Neptune, Saturn, Jupiter, Gemini New Moon, Sun, Venus. In All About Eve, Bette Davis suggests: “Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy night”. Such sentiment could also relate to today and the Gemini New Moon with its influence over the next two weeks. The Gemini Moon triggers the Mutable Sign Grand Cross with the Moon square Neptune in Pisces, the Moon opposed Saturn in Sagittarius and the Moon square Jupiter in Virgo. The Moon conjuncts both Venus and the Sun. Both the Sun and Venus square Jupiter. Extremes, excess and a general craziness could be running rampant. We could be all over the place today and liable to be over the next two weeks. As though living in a smorgasbord, we could indulge our senses with immediate gratification with us trying this and trying that, all the while that we’re ratcheting up our expenses and our credit card balances. This is a day when we could easily succumb to the hucksters. Whatever makes us feel good we are liable to indulge, no expense spared and with no concern for the expense. Braking action is called for, but like the world at large we might be on a runaway train heading for what we don’t know and possibly not even care. Living for the moment with a strong dose of entitlement could allow us to go full-on into immediate gratification. We may carpe diem but the ramifications and consequences could eventually prove unpleasant.

Sunday, June 5th – Turning the Page – Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course. The past two days might had us operating at warp speed exploring strange new worlds where no one has gone before, seeking a new life or second life or some resemblance of civilizations. Sunday might feel as though the wind has been knocked out of our sails. Not that we are likely to be stagnant on this Sunday. We just might not have the gale force winds that have buffeted us over the past two days. Today, the Gemini Moon sextiles Uranus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eleven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini and before the Moon enters Cancer late in the evening hours. We might chose to explore alternatives and options today, do something radically different from our planned activities, but without the same frenetic energy we might have been caught up in over the past two days. This is a day to shuffle the deck and come up with something different from our normal Sunday routine. Whether we choose to air out by taking a drive into the country, go to the park and loll about, or engage in conversations with people who might provide clues in the scavenger hunt of our new way of living, we are up for doing things on our terms, in our own way. We want to be free and autonomous and this Sunday could have us spontaneously participating in engaging interests.
