This week is the first full week of May and a buoyant week at that. Whether it is ‘Spring fever’ or a strong dose of optimism, we can be operating on all cylinders and ready to take on the world with various forms of seed plantings.
This first week of May has the transiting Sun triggering the Earth Grand Trine. Our personal commitment can be to focusing on the truly meaningful projects for our goals, all the while that we are addressing the details and being certain that all the pieces fit neatly into the large puzzle of our long-term goals. We are likely to feel inspired, confident of our abilities and ready to stretch beyond our usual routine to push forward our ambitions. Nothing is likely to be stopping us now.
We begin the week feeling divinely guided as if we have our own Manifest Destiny to expand our interests, broaden our activities and widen our reach. Even if our responsibilities get in the way or we feel constrained by some situation or another, we are not looking to be limited this week. It’s springtime, a time that promises renewal, rebirth and renaissance. And we are ready, able and champing at the bit to go for the gold with extreme gusto.
We might be a little headstrong in pursuing our interests mid-week, liable to cut corners and pushing the envelope. Even if we overextend ourselves, we are largely interested in expansion and seeding new plans and developing new projects.
It would be wise for us to use the earlier part of the week in preparation, strategizing, readying ourselves for a strong launch out of the gate.
Waning Moons are often better for bringing completion to matters and tying up loose ends rather than initiation. The waxing Moon, from the New Moon to the Full Moon, is a far better time for initiation and launches. Friday provides us with the Taurus New moon, a signature that influences the following two weeks up to the Full Moon. This New Moon reinforces the Earth Grand Trine and opens the door to productive and effective seed plantings and start-ups.
Not only can we build upon solid foundations with every detail taken into account. We can also present a pretty package where appearance and substance are evenly blended with nothing extraneous in the mix.
Although this is a week for us to tie up our running shoes or gardening boots, we do need to keep in mind that we are operating under Mercury retrograde. It would be wise for us to employ the rule of thumb in the construction and fabrication industries: ‘measure twice, cut once.’
Monday, May 2nd – Wild Ride – Neptune, Sun, Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto. Monday begins this rather spectacular week in high style. We may awaken and assume that everything is going to come out right and nothing can go wrong. The Moon in Pisces conjuncts Neptune and the Moon sextiles the Sun. We might have our plans in mind, draw upon our intuitive sense and ‘know’ that things will be breaking our way. Confidence is a wonderful trait, over-confidence a potential liability. And therein lies the rub. For as the day continues, the Moon triggers the Mutable Sign T-square with the Moon opposed Jupiter, followed by the Moon square Saturn. We might look to do too much, take on too much, all with the belief that whatever we take on we can easily handle. Reality could step in and have us realize that we are on overload. Responsibilities and our normal tasks could also impinge upon our expansionary intentions. We may find ourselves juggling all sorts of things and feeling put upon by what we have put upon ourselves. Later in the day, the Moon sextiles Pluto. Instead of overwhelm, we could start to prioritize our activities by focusing on the most important matters to attend to and putting other projects on the back burner.
Tuesday, May 3rd – On Top of the World – Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Jupiter. Tuesday begins with the Pisces Moon sextile Mercury. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for twelve hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries today. The Sun trines Jupiter beginning the Sun’s trigger of the Earth Grand Trine with the Taurus Sun trine Jupiter in Virgo today and the Sun trine Pluto in Capricorn on Saturday. There may not be a great deal of practical energy to accomplish much. Diligent planning and serious consideration of the means to accomplish our goals would be a good use of today’s energy. We are preparing the seedbed in which to plant our seeds. Let’s keep in mind that initiations are often strongest under the influence of the New Moon, and especially this Saturday’s New Moon. Today, we could feel more pumped up. We might feel more confident of our talents and our abilities. We could be optimistic and enthusiastic about our intended involvements. This is a day when we can get a renewed sense of ourselves and be more appreciative of the opportunities that come our way, often in this new paradigm in the most unexpected ways. We might be more privy as to how things strangely come together.
Wednesday, May 4th – Outer Limits – Mars, Saturn, Pluto. The Aries Moon today trines Mars and Saturn both in Sagittarius. Later in the day, the Moon squares Pluto. We may be on a tear to expand our interests and further our ambitions. We have the drive and passion to move our projects forward in a structured manner. While we are focused more on doing our own thing, we have to be aware that collaboration might streamline our efforts and help us realize our goals faster than going it alone. People may have blinders on today, rushing around, concentrating on their own particular involvements and having a blind spot regarding what is going on with other people and to the conditions and circumstances prevalent. What we have to watch out for today is running at breakneck speed, losing sight of the parameters in which we are operating and winding up running into a wall. All our efforts could come to naught if we get caught up in our frenzy and frantic tendencies and in the process lose sight of our surroundings.
Thursday, May 5th – Taking it down a Notch or Two – Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course. With all the energy we expended yesterday, the evening hours of yesterday could have been a let down with a severe case of exhaustion. Thursday has the Aries Moon conjunct Uranus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for thirteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before the Moon moves into Taurus. Whether we had to recalibrate yesterday afternoon or faced some delaying tactics to our forward movement, this Thursday may have us taking things down a notch or two. Our passion, drive and intensity may be lessened but also allows us to take things step by step in unison with the natural unfolding. No rushing the river today. On the contrary, we might understand that things take as long as they take and no matter how hurried or harried we might be we cannot force the issue[s]. Thursday is also the dark side of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s New Moon. This day is better served preparing for whatever seed plantings we intend to do during the next two-week period with the initiations starting from tomorrow’s New Moon. Thursday allows us to get our house in order, tie up loose ends and bring matters to completion before we start a new two-week cycle of launching our new beginnings.
Friday, May 6th – Better Than What? – Venus, Neptune, Lunar Grand Trine, Jupiter, Taurus New Moon, Sun, Pluto, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course. Friday has the Taurus New Moon and reinforces the Earth Grand Trine. The Moon conjuncts Venus, Mercury and the Sun. The Moon sextiles Neptune, and the Moon trines Jupiter in Virgo and the Moon trines Pluto in Capricorn. Late in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over fourteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Taurus and before the Moon enters Gemini on Saturday. This New Moon imprints the next two weeks, and what an imprint this is. Just as we may see nature blossoming and in bloom, this is a time when we can be highly productive, be expeditious in how we are doing things and we could get a lot done. This is a time for us to look at finances, create a financial plan and consider how best to budget ourselves — our monies, our time, our involvements. We may be far less impetuous than we have been over the past six weeks. We might be more willing to take things step by step. But like a steamroller we can push slowly, forcefully and effectively ahead. We do need to keep in mind that Mercury is retrograde. We needn’t bar the door and shutter the windows, but we do need to check, evaluate and recheck as we go along in order to be certain that all the specifics are taken care of and all the particulars addressed. This day and this next fortnight can be highly productive and a time when we might be able to move mountains, figuratively if not literally.
Saturday, May 7th – All Hail Caesar – Moon Void-of-Course, Mars, Sun, Pluto. Saturday has the Taurus Moon Void-of-Course for the first half of this day. The Moon finishing its transit of Taurus makes no connections to the planets. Later in the day, the Moon enters Gemini where tonight the Moon opposes Mars. Although there is not a great deal of energy to begin this day, the day then swings into a manic late day and Sunday. The main energy on this Saturday is the completion of the Sun’s transit and triggering of the Earth Grand Trine. Tuesday, the Taurus Sun trined Jupiter in Virgo. Today, the Sun completes the Earth Grand Trine with the Sun trine Pluto in Capricorn. We might feel pumped up, a sense that we are invincible, omnificent, akin to and even better than any superhero. If we would harness our energy, rein in our ego and focus on those things that have true purpose in our lives, then we could be highly effective and productive today. We could lay down the foundation stones of our future goals. With the Moon going into Gemini, we have to avoid assuming that we can do it all, everything and even more. If we go there, our attitude may become like kryptonite whereby instead of drawing upon our strength and focus we become weakened by our distractions and diversions. This is a week when we can accomplish a great deal if we maintain our humility and hew to the true purpose in our journey.
Sunday, May 8th – One of the Stooges – Lunar Grand Cross, Neptune, Jupiter, Saturn. Sunday is Mother’s Day, but we might find ourselves all over the place today. The Gemini Moon triggers the Mutable Sign T-Square with a Grand Cross as the Moon squares Neptune in Pisces, the Moon squares Jupiter in Virgo and the Moon opposes Saturn in Sagittarius. We may feel like we’re walking on eggshells today or more likely a minefield. This is a day when we need to keep our wits about us, be aware and mindful, for otherwise we could trip off all sorts of problems for ourselves. With Mercury retrograde, and remember that Mercury rules Gemini, the liability to miscommunications and misunderstandings can be strong today. Someone could have an edge on today, looking to snap at anyone or everyone at the slightest provocation. Our nerves could be a little shot and we have to avoid impulsive reactions. Let’s slow things down, count to ten before we react, and think before we speak — all of which may be a tall order on a day like this. Much of this week could have been like skating easily and quickly along with few bumps in our way. Sunday could more than make up for the pleasant times of this week replaced instead with increased irritation. We might not be expecting it but we do have to be wary of lateral lobotomies or whacks on the side of our head.
