April 18th – 24th, 2016

This week continues with some of the shake, rattle and roll that we might have experienced during this past week, but things settle down as we come towards the end of the week.

While we might be in a throw up and throw out disposition to begin the week, we do have to be wary of extreme actions. People can be acting out in frustration of delays and impediments. Old stuff can get in our way and outstanding matters might trip up our forward advance.

Let’s not worry ourselves about the old and outmoded, but make sure that we are not being restrained by issues that have no relevance to our present, much less our future.

After an explosive ending of last week and beginning of this week, a time for us to be resourceful and judicious in the use of our energy and being more effective with less expenditure of energy; we move into our seed planting of new ideas to bring into play and new projects to engage and bring to manifestation.

We could make the reference to the saying that ‘the cup has to be emptied before it can be filled’, for the removal of certain involvements can open the door to more exciting situations for ourselves.

No matter the weather outside, this time of year is early Spring with its promise of rebirth, renewal, renaissance. We are far more interested in launching and initiating rather than maintenance and fixing up. We need to be wise in our choices, avoid taking on too much or keeping up with things that are better left behind.

The end of the week is highlighted by the Scorpio Full Moon and gives greater insistence to a good Spring cleaning, all the while that we see glimmers of new connections and new pursuits we might wish to develop.

We might need a ‘mental health’ day this week to reflect and consider any breakdowns in our lives and the bread and circus antics in the world-at-large. Once we get a grip, we could clear away the clutter, tune out the crazy-making static, and determine the right course of action for ourselves.

Monday, April 18th – Sorting Through – Saturn, Lunar Grand Trine, Pluto, Mercury, Venus, Pluto retrograde. Yesterday had Mars turning retrograde, today has Pluto turning retrograde. This twosome can be explosive with bomb blasts, geophysical activity, intense storm systems and people acting out to the max. Throw in possible terrorist incidents, and yesterday and today could have us running for cover both from natural phenomena and bizarre human actions. Once the dust settles on this Monday, we can get a far better grip on things. The Virgo Moon today squares Saturn and then the Moon triggers an Earth Grand Trine with the Moon trine Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon trine Mercury in Taurus. Venus trines Saturn, and Pluto turns retrograde. We can sort through the mess that we or some other person or natural circumstances might have created over the past two days. We can start to rebuild or build on new foundation stones. We might draw upon a trusted confidante to give us a clear heads-up about what is truly going on, an objective, detached observer who might be better able to decipher our situation. Let’s keep in mind that we are under the influence of an Earth Grand Trine, which impels us to physical manifestation and the ability to put things together. The Moon goes Void-of-Course early in the day for twenty-three hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon moves into Libra tomorrow. This is a day for us to take some time to consider what might have exploded or imploded recently, sort through our various activities and then focus our attention on the most meaningful.

Tuesday, April 19th – Goodbye Yellow Brick Road – Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Pluto, Sun Taurus. Tuesday begins with the Moon Void-of-Course as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo without making any further connections to the planets and before the Moon enters Libra in the early part of this Tuesday. The Libra Moon makes no aspects to the planets today. The Libra ruler, Venus transiting through Aries, its Sign of Detriment, squares Pluto. The Sun exits Aries to enter Taurus brining an end to the Aries power pack or Stellium and increasing the influence of the Earth Grand Trine. Our focus may turn to our relationships and the people in our lives. We might be a little too self-involved today and in the process hold other people to a very high standard with a liability of cutting some people off at the knees. Relationships could be dicey with a call for cutting people some slack rather than the knee cut. Some of our impetuousness can die down. We can slow things down and see what seeds we might choose to plant in our lives and in the days ahead. This is a day when it would be wise for us ‘not to rush the river’ but appreciate that we are no longer in control of our life’s circumstance [as if we ever truly were] and allow the river to flow according to its own twists and turns and its own rhythm. If we would get out of our own way, we might see how magical and exciting the natural unfolding happens to be.

Wednesday, April 20th – Push Back Jack – Mars, Saturn, Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Venus. The Libra Moon today sextiles Mars and Saturn, both in Sagittarius. The Moon then triggers a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Pluto and the Moon opposes Venus. We might be giving thought to getting out of Dodge, and that may not be such a bad idea. For today and yesterday our relationships could be a little dicey. If we stepped on other people’s toes, whether intentionally or unintentionally, today can prove a level of pushback. Instead of dealing with slights or any issues in our interpersonal connections, we might prefer to talk about things at a distance, plans for travel, or reach out to people who lie far beyond our toe stomping reach. Taking on a philosophical overtone would be far better than getting on a rant about what is going on in the world. Let’s keep in mind that often there are theatrics displayed primarily for entertainment purposes. My wife would say that there are two guys in Scarsdale determining all the power plays like two puppeteers pulling the strings and having the characters do their song and dance. I wouldn’t disagree, but that’s why maintaining detachment, engaging grace and charm and appreciating that we are doing our life journey with a backdrop of kaleidoscopic craziness are all keys to keeping our sanity. Flexibility and adaptability are keys to dealing with the world and conditions that come our way. As the saying goes: ‘Life’s too mysterious. Don’t take it serious.’

Thursday, April 21st – Making it Work – Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course. Thursday begins with the Libra Moon opposed Uranus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eighteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio later in the day. Thursday is a day when there can be a great deal of talk going on. We might find ourselves having to find the balance between our own personal interests and the interests of someone else. Today does not have to be a tug-of-war with someone but rather a day when we take care of our needs and take care of some else’s interests. Unexpected situations could start the day and force us to deviate from our intended schedule. If we have had any dustups with someone over the past two days, this Thursday is a day when we might take the time to consider things from their perspective. To avoid falling into a self-imposed narcissistic tendency where we see incidents only from our viewpoint, today is a good day for us to change our attitude and try to walk in their moccasins to understand their vantage point. Late in the day, we may want some alone time and tune out the rest of the world.

Friday, April 22nd – Clearing a Path – Scorpio Full Moon, Sun, Neptune, Jupiter, Venus, Uranus. Friday begins with the Scorpio Full Moon as the Moon opposes the Sun. Late in the day, the Moon trines Neptune and the Moon sextiles Jupiter. Venus conjuncts Uranus. There are times when we need to tear down before we can build up. This Friday might be one of those days. Situations that have been simmering and percolating could rise to the fore with an intense release of energy. We have to avoid doing things in the extreme when half measures would more effectively address the issue. We may give thought to weeding our garden of the extraneous and irrelevant in order to create room for the new and exciting. This is a day of serendipitous encounters. We could bump into interesting new people, become aware of options for ourselves that we had never given thought to and find situations developing in a most unique and fascinating manner. By making space in our lives, we may discover how the universe abhors a vacuum by filling our empty space with some wondrous and magical events. Friday allows us to do what we need to do in bringing completion and closure to certain activities and providing a clear path for the new and the different to enter our lives. The latter part of the day can be a reaffirmation that the universe works. We might not always know what ‘the plan’ is but by being open and receptive we could experience some glorious occurrences. Friday night also begins in the Jewish religion the beginning of Pesach, Passover, and the celebration of liberation from slavery.

Saturday, April 23rd – Free at Last – Pluto, Mercury. The Scorpio Moon today sextiles Pluto and the Moon opposes Mercury. Saturday is a good day for us to do a Spring cleaning. We can cut away the dross in order to focus on the truly meaningful. This is a day when we could draw upon the substance and the essence and not be fooled by the image or the appearance. No one is likely to put one over on us when we are using a laser-like quality to get to the heart of any matter. We might decide to pare things down and cull various matters from our lives. We could increase our breathing space today and prepare ourselves for new seed planting in the days ahead. By ridding ourselves of overload and the too much that often clogs up our lives, we can streamline our lives and free ourselves from burdens that do not aid us but only obstruct us from moving forward without impediments. Although eliminations are important parts of our process, there are times when the letting go is difficult. We often prefer to accumulate and have stuff, as though the stuff is not so much an albatross but rather an indication of our worth. This attitude is reinforced in our consumer society where more is often taken as a measure of value. In truth, more can sometimes lead to obesity, too much and overload. Let’s consider a good Spring cleaning today as a way to weed our garden in order for the truly beautiful flowers to blossom and bloom in our lives.

Sunday, April 24th – Out of Dodge. The Moon moves into Sagittarius on this Sunday but the Moon makes no aspects to the planets today. While there is not a great deal of energy on this Sunday, we could use this day to hang in the window the sign ‘gone fishing’. Whether we physically travel out of town or allow our mind to take us on a trip to our happy place, this Sunday is a good day for us to recharge our batteries and reinvigorate ourselves. Sunday can be a ‘mental health’ day. We don’t have to make plans for this Sunday but instead allow ourselves to engage whatever activities, projects or trips — anything that will put a smile on our face and give us the full embrace of enjoying our lives. These times are volatile times, times when our mood swings can be extreme, and times that reinforce the sense that we are not fully in control of our lives but are co-creators with the universal unfolding and the circumstances and conditions that arise. If we can use this Sunday to engage a philosophical attitude that everything works out for the best, we could give ourselves a second wind, enjoy the smallest gifts that life offers, and provide ourselves with a sense of bemusement at the twists and turns of life’s journeying.
