This week is the first week of Spring and a highly active week with some extreme whipsaws.
The week begins with a high anxiety as we wonder what’s up and what’s down. Confusion could be a prime ingredient as we begin this week so it would be wise for us to walk softly and tread lightly. We have already become aware of the intensity of these times. Spring may have sprung, and we may have gained a second wind. While the Aries energy emphasizes our sense of self, it could also heighten our self-interest into a liability of narcissism.
The early part of the week can have us wondering whether someone is for us or against us. We need to be cautious with our personal relationships, not be too sensitive to what seems to be going on, and take the time to respond to other people’s statements or actions. Due deliberation is called for, but the tendency is more likely towards immediate reaction.
If we are feeling frustrated, overwhelmed or exhausted by our life’s circumstance, we could become hypercritical, looking at the flaws rather than the positive attributes.
The Full Moon on Wednesday is a Lunar Eclipse and highlights the issue of relationship. Let’s make sure that we don’t become so self-involved that we are unwilling to cut people enough slack when we would want the same consideration from them.
The latter part of the week can allow for clarification of issues. Despite the high frenetic energy as a backdrop, things can slow down, take longer than we might like but in the process allow the delays to sort things out. Our greatest problem might be jumping the gun, moving too fast, too far, without clarity in direction, or itinerary or plan of action.
Let’s slow it all down!
While the week itself can be highly excitable, the weekend could be largely pleasant. We may find ourselves connecting with those people who understand us and who love us no matter our disposition, behavior or attitude at the time. The weekend is also Easter weekend, the Christian celebration of the resurrection and ascension of Jesus the Christ. The theological celebration is related to the Vernal Equinox that occurred last Sunday with the beginning of Spring, the astrological New Year as the Sun moved into Aries and the opportunity for our own personal renaissance and rebirth.
Monday, March 21st – Cutting From the Daze Through the Haze – Lunar T-Square, Neptune, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury Aries. Monday begins the week with us possibly feeling like the old saying of our not being able to ‘punch our way out of a paper bag’. We might feel weak or exhausted as we start the week and with a confusion of not knowing what to do first or what needs to be done. We may have a lot on our plate, or many things scheduled for this day, but we could start off dazed and in a haze even to the point of running in place. Monday has the Moon in Virgo and a Lunar T-Square as the Moon opposes both Venus and Neptune and the Moon squares Saturn. We might feel put upon by someone else’s needs, a sense of responsibility that leads us to be co-dependent and an enabler. Someone’s emotional dramas can be incredibly draining, especially if we try to assist them, only to finally realize that they are too attached to the drama to seek real resolution. While most of this day could have us going in circles, things straighten out later in the day when we free ourselves from the T-Square and the Moon conjuncts Jupiter and the Moon trines Pluto. However crazy-making the early part of the day might be with periods of feeling blocked even depressed, we can lighten up, straighten up and fly right as we come into the evening hours. We get something of a second wind, cut through the daze and the haze and can be incredibly productive later in the day. At the end of the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for twenty-five and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon moves into Libra early on Wednesday. Mercury exits Pisces to enter Aries. Mercury has not been comfortable in Pisces where its in Detriment and we might have felt that our heart was ruling our head with our thought processes more controlled by our emotions than by reason. With Mercury moving into Aries, we now have a Stellium of three planets in the Cardinal Fire Sign as Mercury joins the Sun and Uranus in Aries. We are far more interested now in focusing on number 1 — our self.
Tuesday, March 22nd – Going Over – Moon Void-of-Course. The Virgo Moon went Void-of-Course late last night and continues Void-of-Course through this Tuesday and until early Wednesday morning as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo without making any further connections to the planets and before the Moon enters Libra tomorrow. There is not a great deal of energy today. We can deal with some of the details of our lives, straighten things up, but we also have to be wary that we are not stewing in our own juices. If we have felt slighted or misunderstood, we could easily dwell on the incidents in our mind, playing them back, going over them almost incessantly. The best use of the energies today is to deal with what needs to get done without overly critiquing or analyzing past events. Since we have come into Spring, this day might also be useful in doing an inventory taking of our closets, our activities and our involvements. Let’s not make a rush to judgment, however, for there could be the liability of instinctively lightening our load and throwing out things just for the sake of getting rid of them. These times are intense, with whipsaws of ups and downs and often not knowing which is which. These times also call for no snap judgments but rather taking our time to consider and deliberate before taking action.
Wednesday, March 23rd – You or Me – Mercury, Libra Full Moon, Lunar Eclipse, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn. Wednesday has the Libra Full Moon, a Lunar Eclipse, with the Moon opposed both the Sun and Mercury and the Moon sextile Mars. Jupiter squares Saturn. This day can be an either or with various pulls between opposing forces. Relationships this week can be dicey and this Wednesday could be a crest to the wave. This is a day that demands diplomacy, consideration and an appreciation that no one is an island unto them self, to borrow an idea from poet John Donne. Although we might all be feeling like emphasizing the ‘me’ aspect to our relationships, we could create some long-term issues for ourselves if we become overly self-centered. The accordion nature of the Jupiter Saturn square could have us wanting to expand yet feeling restrained or constricted. We might want to fly the coop only to find ourselves fenced in by our routine matters. We may feel impeded but it would be wise not to vent our frustrations on those near and dear to us. While some people feel that every day is a Full Moon day with expressed emotions often off the charts, maintaining balance and composure is required today, no matter how difficult such an attitude might be. If we don’t hold ourselves in check, we could wreak havoc that could be prolonged over the next few days, if not weeks. We may need to go to our safe, happy place in our mind in order to establish a calm and reasoned approach to our interactions with other people today.
Thursday, March 24th – Pleading Our Case – Saturn, Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Mars. Thursday has the Libra Moon sextile Saturn. The Moon then triggers a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Pluto and the Moon opposes Uranus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over twenty-one hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio on Friday. Mercury trines Mars. This Thursday is a day when we can make reparations. If we had created a kerfuffle with someone, we could straighten it out today. It would be important not to allow any upsets with someone to linger or fester. Not only do we have the ability to clearly state our case, but we also have a dynamic presence whereby our rationale can both make sense to the other person and also appeal to their best nature. This is a day when we can proceed efficiently and effectively. We do have to watch for various curve balls that could upset our schedule or get in our way. The more we can dodge any incoming, the better able we shall be to advance our interests and gain advocates to our side. We might reach out to someone who can assist us and could prove a wise sounding board for some of our ideas.
Friday, March 25th – Too Many Involvements – Moon Void-of-Course, Venus T-Square, Jupiter, Saturn retrograde. Friday continues with the Libra Moon Void-of-Course with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before the Moon moves into Scorpio around mid-day. The Scorpio Moon makes no aspects today. While there is no real Moon energy today, we do have two major energy configurations. Saturn turns retrograde until mid-August, and transiting Venus through Pisces triggers a Mutable Sign T-Square as Venus opposes Jupiter and Venus squares Saturn. This is a day when things can take longer than we like. We might feel as though we’re moving as slow as molasses. There might be frustrating delays. Meanwhile, we could find ourselves bumping into people and wanting to spend time with those people we encounter unexpectedly. We could also have plans to get together with other people, so today could be one of those days when there are just too many involvements. While we can juggle various social interactions, the question of how we do so is key. Someone might want us to go the extra mile for them. With this being a significant religious period, we might feel compelled to engage our compassion and go out of our way for someone. Although service to others is a wonderful thing, service is one thing, self-sacrifice a totally different story. This is a day when we might need to keep in mind the biblical concept of not casting our pearls before swine.
Saturday, March 26th – Marvelous Day for a Moondance – Neptune, Jupiter, Sun, Mars, Venus, Pluto. With apologies and respect to Van Morrison, Saturday could be the best day of this week. The Scorpio Moon trines Neptune, and the Moon sextiles Jupiter. The Sun trines Mars, and Venus sextiles Pluto. If we can trip away on the light fantastic with that special someone in our lives, this is the day to do so. We can feel energized, desiring to get out of Dodge, and spread our wings and fly into an idyllic realm. Whether we go literally or figuratively, this can be one beautiful day in a paradise realm. We are likely to feel energized, passionate and wanting to be with that special someone, that person who feels like a soulmate connection, the person we can be without our needing to put on airs but just able to be our self. This is one of those Spring days when we could be in love with life. Whether we are with someone or just by our self, we are fully enjoying the company we keep. Saturday could be a day of re-creation, reinvigoration and renewal. En joy!
Sunday, March 27th – Lazy Days – Pluto, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course. In the early morning hours, the Scorpio Moon sextiles Pluto and the Moon trines Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over twenty-three hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius tomorrow. This Sunday is a day to gather with family and friends, enjoy the comforts of home and not feel compelled to do much other than enjoy a festive meal, delight in chocolate and deserts and just take time to relax and luxuriate. In Christian theology, this is the sacred day of Easter. No matter our religious affiliation or none, we still might engage the secular festivities of a good meal and good times with good friends. There may not be a great deal of energy on this Sunday but it can in deed be a day of rest, even if ‘rest’ in today’s parlance incorporates a great deal of movement and social interaction.
