February 15th – 21st, 2016

This week may seem rather manic until we get our footing. There can be some wild swings that might have us holding on tight to maintain a semblance of balance.

If we lined our ducks up in a row on this past Sunday, then we can be prepared to do what needs to be done this week. Planning, prioritizing and scheduling are key elements to keep us on track.

The week begins with Monday in the US as a federal holiday. Yes, we are coming off another long holiday weekend and for some children this week is a school mid-winter break.

No matter what we have scheduled to begin the week, be assured that we could be going non-stop from one thing to another to yet another. We might have a great deal on our plate early in the week, and we just have to avoid burn out and exhausting ourselves, and in the process trying to do too much without doing it well. Our pace may be fast and our interest might be diverted to spontaneous situations arising, but let’s try to keep our footing as we run swiftly ahead.

The mid-week period can be slower with a preference towards focusing on family and home matters. We could be looking at regrouping and recharging our batteries, but we do need to keep aware of beckoning responsibilities and demands placed upon our time.

The latter part of the week has the Sun exiting Aquarius and entering Pisces. We can feel that we are in the dead of winter but with a sense that Spring is inevitable and will soon be approaching. The Sun is entering the last Sign of the Zodiac wheel and with it the last gasp of the astrological year.

The weekend is ripe for fun events, recreational pursuits and putting our best foot forward. After a hectic beginning to the week, the weekend is prime for good times.

Monday, February 15th – Tooting Our Horn – Sun, Venus, Mercury. Monday begins with the Taurus Moon square the Sun, and the Moon trine Venus. The Moon then moves into Gemini where today the Moon trines Mercury. In the US, this Monday is Presidents Day and for some a holiday. We can start this day putting the finishing touches on our appearance and presentation. Not only are we looking good and feeling good about ourselves. We could also be tooting our own horn. Everyone may be very chatty today, even to the point of pontificating about every topic under the sun. This is a day when our honed image and our conversational skills can be at a peak. We’re likely to have it going on today. It would be hard for anyone to shoot holes in our arguments or our discussions. We seem solid with an ability to cover a wide range of subject matter. If we are astute as to what we promise today, then we needn’t slip up when we are liable to come across some banana peels tomorrow.

Tuesday, February 16th – The Mad Hatter Had Nothing On Us – Uranus, Lunar Grand Cross, Neptune, Saturn, Jupiter, Venus Aquarius. Yesterday might had us operating at our optimum. Today is a different matter. We can be all over the place on this Tuesday. The Gemini Moon today sextiles Uranus and triggers a Mutable Sign Grand Cross with the Gemini Moon square Neptune in Pisces, the Moon opposed Saturn in Sagittarius and the Moon square Jupiter in Virgo. Venus exits Capricorn to enter Aquarius. Although we might prefer to do our own thing today, possibly step off the track and engage a ‘mental health’ day, this Tuesday could have us pushed and pulled in all sorts of directions. Old issues and past matters may demand our attention. We might feel that we can take on more than humanly possible. In this tornado-like quality of the day, we may also find ourselves direction less. This Tuesday we could wind up spinning our wheels, or else covering a great deal of ground without any real accomplishment, or what we can achieve might be done in a rather sloppy manner, glossing over important details and quite possibly connecting things that have absolutely no relationship. This Tuesday calls for us to slow things down, have a focused intent and a strong schedule as to what to do and when to do it. Such a suggestion is given and a nice concept, but the day itself could be like our grabbing a tiger by its tail and having us swung from one thing to another to another. Yes, this Tuesday we could experience as if Alice’s Mad Hatter had nothing on us as we whirl around feeling ever pressured and trying to do oh so many, and too many, things. Towards the end of the day, Venus exits Capricorn to enter Aquarius. Frustrated by our own whipsaws, we might look to new friends, new connections that can reflect a sense of where we want to go and how we want to be.

Wednesday, February 17th – Realm of Possibilities – Sun. After what might have been a wild and wooly Tuesday, we can slow things down on this Wednesday. The day begins with the Gemini Moon trine the Sun. The Moon then goes into Cancer but makes no further aspects this day. This is a day when we might give thought to our future plans. Discussions with good friends might make us aware of alternatives we had not considered and can encourage us regarding our intentions. This Wednesday could be a mutual admiration day where we give and receive verbal support for our goals and intentions. Our strengths might lie more in our thoughts and considerations today rather than our implementation or execution. Let’s make plans, take into account our options but also take some time for ourselves. The home fires burning can be very warming and welcoming and we might choose to catch a breath, take a rest and recharge our batteries in the comfort of our home and family.

Thursday, February 18th – Lolling About Until Snapped Back – Neptune, Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Uranus. Thursday has the Moon in Cancer trine Neptune. Much of this Thursday can be pleasant with us lost in reveries, enjoying our good life and not looking to move mountains or ford wide streams. No, this day is far better for us to be in our happy place, even if our happy place is an imaginary place where we would prefer to be. We might prefer to pull the covers up, take a long winter’s nap and not deal with the hassles of the world outside with its assorted crazies. We might find ourselves a sanctuary for some of the day, but as Martha Reeves and the Vandellas once reminded us in song: “Got nowhere to run to, baby, nowhere to hide.” From the relatively idyllic and spacey day of this Thursday, the energy shifts late in the day as the Cancer Moon triggers a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Pluto and the Moon square Uranus. Even though a fading memory, the Uranus Pluto square that dogged us between 2012 and 2015 is engaged. Our attempts at tranquility and serenity now! [to borrow from Seinfeld’s Frank Costanza] could come to an abrupt end as unexpected matters arise that may demand our attention. It might feel as though an unwelcome intruder has entered our peaceful surroundings, and it may well do so. Let’s use the early part of the day to enjoy peaceful moments and uplifting feelings and then be ready for some curveballs late in the day.

Friday, February 19th – Settling Things Down – Jupiter, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun Pisces. While Thursday evening could have been a raucous crescendo to an otherwise pleasant day, Friday begins with us intent on straightening things up, sorting things out and making our home space clean and tidy. The Cancer Moon sextiles Jupiter and the Moon trines Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost twelve hours as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer without making any further connections to the planets and before the Moon enters Leo in the evening. The Sun exits Aquarius to enter Pisces. We might feel pressed to get a fair amount done in the early morning hours. Any disturbance late yesterday may have put us into motion to tie up loose ends and deal with outstanding matters before we come into the weekend. We don’t want any pressing matters to disrupt our intention of enjoying ourselves on the weekend, for we are likely to have the weekend earmarked for fun. With the Sun moving into the last Sign of the Zodiac, Pisces, we are also moving into the last phase of the astrological year before the new astrological year begins with the Vernal Equinox next month. We may be feeling the winter blues but are unlikely to succumb to the doldrums since we are convinced that we are getting ever closer to Spring. Already, we may be aware of the lengthening of the daylight during the days.

Saturday, February 20th – Good Times, Good Friends – Venus, Mercury. The Leo Moon today opposes both Venus and Mercury. We may be feeling highly creative today and wanting to enjoy various fun events. Whether we participate or we observe, we may want to be out and about and enjoying the company of friends. This is a day when we might consider doing something a little different from our usual Saturday plans. We might choose to stretch a little, try something we have never tried before and engage activities that are compelling and enlivening. We could feel as though we have gained a second wind. While sharing our intentions with friends can be lively and engaging, let’s keep in mind that often people like to consider change as a concept rather than a commitment. Since we all tend to see people according to our definition of them based upon our past experience with them, it can be slightly unnerving when people chose trajectories that seem out of character for them or a sharp departure from their past patterns. But much of the past few years have transformed us and readied us to make significant transitions. Now is a time for exploration and testing the waters of new interests, but not everyone will be cheerleading us on. There are times when it is best to keep our cards close to the chest and not suggest radical changes.

Sunday, February 21st – Flying High – Lunar Grand Trine, Saturn, Uranus, Mars. Sunday can have us feeling like we’re sitting on top of the world. We have passion, panache and precision operating for us today. The Leo Moon creates a Fire Grand Trine as the Moon trines Saturn in Sagittarius and the Moon trines Uranus in Aries to begin the day. We may be feeling like we are firing on all cylinders. Not only can we bridge the past with the future, but our resumé and experience provide a solid forum through which we can innovate and bring forward new ideas and concepts that people will take under serious consideration. This is a day when we can stand out, express ourselves with sincerity and deep commitment and have our voice heard and our thoughts understood and appreciated. No matter how revolutionary some of our ideas may seem they are non-threatening coming from a source that people trust. This is a day when we can virtually move mountains, win advocates to our cause and be seen as a pragmatic and visionary leader. Sunday is a day for us to shine and be on center stage. Our creative juices are flowing and our manner of presentation is appealing. The energy is strongest in the beginning of the day. As the day progresses, the Moon squares Mars. With everything going our way early in the day, let’s take advantage of it but not push it to the outer limits at the end of the day. We need to keep in mind when enough is enough and just right.
