This week allows us to straighten any screw-ups that might have gone on during the past three weeks.
YES! This week has Mercury ending its three-week retrograde cycle and turning direct late on Monday. Much of this week allows us to get our house in order, interact with various people and then look at a good clear out and clean up.
This is the last week of January, and the week begins with us getting our sea legs after what may have been a bumpy three weeks. Let’s keep in mind that when Mercury is turning direction, whether from direct to retrograde or retrograde to direct, the screw-ups seem to intensify. Consequently, we have to be wary during the early part of the week. We also need to recognize that we shall be in the ‘shadow’ of the Mercury retrograde until the 14th of February. Getting our sea legs doesn’t necessarily mean clear sailing ahead. There can be swells and stormy waters as we navigate the currents.
The early part of this week can have us sorting out things, taking care of details and reworking matters that we might have either glossed over or that may need some retuning. If we would focus our attention on the details, then we could find that the pieces are fitting neatly together. This week we might prove truth to the old saying: “If you take care of the little things, the big things will take care of themselves.”
The latter part of the week can have us heavily involved with other people, reaching out to make contact but we are also likely to be dealing with someone else’s problems. The question of balance is one that frequently challenges us. How much we give, what we get in return are often issues where we need to find the balance point and refrain from a tipping point.
Let’s keep in mind the Mutable T-Square by Sign of Jupiter in Virgo, Saturn in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces. This is an energy configuration that began last September and continues into this year’s September. This configuration talks to extremes with being up one moment, down the next with whipsaws between the extremes of irrational exuberance and disheartened despair.
Establishing balance during these volatile times can be challenging and calls certainly for mental tai chi moves whereby we are aware of the energy, mindful of the liable whipsaws and work in accord with the energy rather than trying to control the energies.
The weekend is a good time for a winter cleanout. Whatever debris is in our environment — physical, mental and emotional — the weekend would be a good time for us to seriously consider the most significant aspects of our lives, prioritize and rid the dross or extraneous that often weighs us down.
Monday, January 25th – Turn Around – Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury. Monday begins the week with the Leo Moon Void-of-Course that began yesterday and continues through most of this Monday with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo late on this Monday night. There is not a great deal of energy to begin this week, and what energy there is can be rather convoluted. Mercury ends its three-week retrograde cycle and turns direct today, and this shift in direction can ratchet up elements of confusion, delays and downright frustrations. Things may take longer than we might like and we might feel as though we are only spinning our wheels. This Monday could prove manic but possibly without us accomplishing too much. It would be better for us to line our ducks up in a row than initiating new projects. Let’s be certain to take everything today with a grain of salt. What we hear or see may not be what we get.
Tuesday, January 26th – Getting Down to Business – Venus, Neptune, Mars. This Tuesday has the Virgo Moon trine Venus, the Moon opposed Neptune and the Moon sextile Mars. We may still be feeling the shift in energy that has occurred with Mercury turning direct. We can accomplish a great deal today so long as we plan and structure our day. It is important that we look before we leap, although our inclination might be to get on with it and rush fast and straight out of this Tuesday’s starting blocks. This is a day for us to strategize and consider what we want to focus on and what we want to be rid of. We all may have a tendency to carry extra weight in terms of activities and involvements. If we feel we can do it all today, then we might find ourselves going around in circles throwing out things that could prove important and concentrating on the superfluous. Proper planning today would go a long way to expediting our process. We can have the vision and foresight today to consider what really works for us and also see what might seem good on the outside but too much trouble once committed and on the inside. Our emotions could get the better of our serious evaluations. Let’s not force issues but rather give serious though to all the factors necessary for a healthy decision or commitment.
Wednesday, January 27th – Doing What Needs To Get Done – Saturn, Mercury, Pluto, Jupiter. Wednesday continues with the Virgo Moon with the Moon today square Saturn, the Moon trine both Mercury and Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon conjunct Jupiter. This is a day when we can have our nose to the grindstone. We might not be enamored by our duties and responsibilities but if we would avoid griping and whining and do what needs to get done, we can accomplish a great deal today. With our focus narrowed to the essential and most significant, we can tie up loose ends, address the most pressing demands and expedite much of our routine business. We might question whether we have the resources to effectively execute our tasks, but we could also discover that once engaged we can do more with less. We can be especially resourceful today, all the while that we are neatly fitting the various pieces into the puzzle.
Thursday, January 28th – A Little Bit of This, a Little Bit of That – Venus. Thursday has the Moon moving into Libra where today the Moon squares the Libra-ruling planet of Venus. We may not be especially interested in doing more than necessary today. If we could take the time to engage someone in a leisurely lunch or an afternoon conversation that might certainly be our preference. The sense of ‘what have you done for me lately’ could be part of our social interactions. We might seek out those people who can assist us in some way. We may not do it consciously but there can be an attraction to someone who can benefit us in some way. Let’s appreciate our connections with other people, appreciate their qualities and characteristics without considering what we might get from them. Friendships are too valuable to be used as bargaining chips. Keep in mind that there are times when we might do too much for someone, other times when people expect too much. It’s all part of the give and take in relationship and in the final analysis true friendships balance out.
Friday, January 29th – All Over the Place – Sun, Saturn, Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Pluto, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course. Friday can be one active day. We may be thinking of our responsibilities and what we need to do prior to the weekend, but we can also have future plans and new projects in mind. Friday has the Libra Moon trine the Sun, the Moon sextile Saturn and the Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Moon square both Mercury and Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon opposed Uranus. Late in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over twenty-six hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio late on Saturday night. This Friday can have us all over the place. A juggling act with any number of things would be all well and good if we can keep all the balls in the air with all our involvements well taken care of. Not only do we have our own stuff going on — past, present and future. We are also likely to have other people wanting us to participate in something that they either have to do or are looking to launch with a little help from their friends. During the evening hours, things may not go as planned. It would be wise for us to be open to unexpected situations that demand us being spontaneous and willing to act or react on the spur-of-the-moment. By the end of this day, we could have exhausted ourselves. Let’s not make any major plans, or else postpone any commitments that we have agreed to, for Saturday morning. We might need a little extra sleep or rest to recharge our batteries.
Saturday, January 30th – Iron Fist in the Velvet Glove – Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Pluto, Venus, Neptune. The Libra Moon Void-of-Course that began yesterday continues through much of this day with the Libra Moon making no connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio late on this Saturday. There are no Moon aspects today. Mercury conjuncts Pluto and Venus sextiles Neptune today. Our mind can be sharp and incisive, while our presentation can be enticing. People may have an edge on today but they mask it well. This is a day when we can devise a best practices approach to realize our goals. We have the ability of cutting to the core and get to the heart of any matter. Our conversations can be to the point but people might be a little overbearing in what they say and how they say it. This is a day for us not to take anything at face value. It would also be suggested that we check the source and check their agenda. People might have their agenda in the forefront of their mind but present it in the most enticing manner. We have to watch for seductions today, for cases presented may seem watertight. This is a day for us to trust our intuitive sense. If it doesn’t feel right, it might just not be right. Someone might try to get us to do something by appealing to our good nature. Our compassion can be played to, for we are likely to be willing to assist another person. If we resist, then they are likely to bowl us over with their ironclad argument.
Sunday, January 31st – Feelings, Some Very Intense Feelings – Neptune, Venus, Sun, Mercury, Uranus. The Scorpio Moon on this Sunday trines Neptune, the Moon sextiles Venus and the Moon squares the Sun. Mercury squares Uranus. Our emotions can be heightened today. We might feel as though we are walking through a dream state, an otherworldly dimension. While reveries and quiet meanderings in natural surroundings can be pleasant and invigorating today, we also need to keep aware and mindful of whatever is going on around us. Unexpected news could upset us and make us alter our plans. Travel plans could be disrupted and communications can be off. If we are traveling today, let’s take some extra time to get from here to there. Contingency plans would also be advised in case of delays or alterations. While our head may be in the clouds today, it will be important that we keep our feet on the ground. This is a day when we might want to clean up and clear out the extraneous that often weighs us down. We need to avoid throwing baby out with the bath water since our response to situations could be immediate and even without thinking.
