February 1st – 7th, 2016

This week seems spiced with energy at times and other times of virtually no energy. We might feel as though we are in a start and stop fashion this week.

The week begins with us focused and stripping down to the key elements. We may be in a ‘throwing out’ mode in order to concentrate on the truly meaningful.

After a fast out of the starting gate to begin the week, we might shift our attention to planning for the weekend parties [in the US we have Super Bowl Sunday] or future intentions to get out of Dodge, travel and get a respite from the mundane.

Our expansive plans could be formalized mid-week. We are looking to put things in order and then execute our goals expeditiously. It may not be a lot of fun mid-week, but we are primarily interested in laying down the foundation stones of our future.

The latter part of the week might have us establishing meaningful contacts with people who could further our ambitions. We can be gracious, have our act together and present ourselves in an accomplished and stylish manner. We aren’t interested in playing games but want people to be up front and straight with us. We are more willing to do the dance with someone if they can keep up the pace, prove themselves trustworthy, and have something worthwhile to offer.

We begin the weekend with a flurry of activity. We might put the finishing touches on projects and complete certain plans. We do have to watch for someone hurling a monkey wrench into the spokes of our wheels, forcing us to alter some intended event.

The weekend closes out with us likely kicking back with good friends and in search of good times. Whether we involve ourselves with Super Bowl Sunday or not, we might be looking to party or, at least, let off some steam.

Monday, February 1st – Only the Substance – Mars, Pluto, Mercury, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course. Monday has the Scorpio Moon conjunct Mars, the Moon sextile both Mercury and Pluto in Capricorn, and the Moon sextile Jupiter in Virgo. Late in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over fifteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius on Tuesday. Monday can be a highly productive day. We may feel driven to put things together, both in regard to the big picture and to the details necessary to make the larger scope solid and well thought out. We aren’t interested in diversions and distractions. As if we had blinders on, we are concentrating our efforts and determined to do what needs to be done. While we are looking at our goals, we are not missing one iota of specificity. The blinders will be beneficial in accomplishing our long-range plans in detail, but we might also be holding our cards very close to our chest. If our plans involve other people, we have to be certain that we communicate what we are doing and how we are doing it. Otherwise, someone who is part of the process might feel left in the dust wondering what is going on and what their role might be. Despite the tendency to solitary concentration today, it’s important to review and relate to other people what we are doing in order to avoid the resentment of the person left out of the huddle.

Tuesday, February 2nd – Waiting for Godot – Moon Void-of-Course. This week is an interesting week, times of intense energies, other times when things seem to be still or even stall out. After an incredible thrust of energy yesterday, a day when we could have virtually moved mountains and doing so by winches and modern technology rather than brute force, Tuesday seems eerily quiet, as though waiting for some clue or missing piece or even having us waiting for Godot. The day begins with the Scorpio Moon Void-of-Course that began late on Monday and continues on into early Tuesday with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio. Even as the Moon moves into Sagittarius on this Tuesday morning, the Moon makes no aspects to the planets. Yesterday may have been a day of heightened effectiveness and productivity. Tuesday may feel as though the wind has been knocked out of our sails. While we could have been intently focused yesterday, this Tuesday has our thoughts and concerns all over the place. We might prefer thinking about and reflecting on how best to expand our interests and broaden our involvements. The mental musings can be satisfying, especially since they give us a sense of uplift with the abstract of limitless possibilities. Conceptualizations are often fun, but they can also prove to be unrealistic. Yesterday had us with nose to grindstone, our feet firmly placed on the ground, and getting more done than we could hardly imagine possible. Tuesday has far less energy, takes on a philosophical overtone with an emphasis on the ‘what could be’ rather than solid accomplishment. This Tuesday is far better to look at the big picture without being overly concerned about the details or how to manifest the goal. We can be feeling upbeat and optimistic but may have little real basis for doing so. A confident attitude is not a bad thing, for it can replenish our energy after yesterday’s day of intense exertion.

Wednesday, February 3rd – Back on the Track – Neptune, Saturn, Sun, Uranus, Mars, Pluto. This week has these whipsaws of intense energy and virtually no energy. Put another way, this week can have us in sprint fashion achieving a great deal, other times where we put our energy towards review, contemplation and musings. Monday had us full bore on, doing the sprint in getting a lot done. Tuesday may have had us reflecting on our Monday’s accomplishments, devising fine tunings we might implement, and considering where we were going with our plans. Wednesday has us back on the track, once again in sprint mode. Today, the Sagittarius Moon squares Neptune, the Moon conjuncts Saturn, the Moon sextiles the Sun and the Moon trines Uranus. Mars sextiles Pluto and the Sun sextiles Saturn. We might start the day with mixed feelings in regard to what we are doing, how we are doing it and why we are doing it. There can be a sense of confusion and the weightiness of responsibility. The sense of fun in our activities might be missing as we see our schedule more in line with obligations and tasks rather than fulfilling accomplishments. It will be important that we be clear from the outset on this Wednesday. Even if we are not thrilled by what we need to do today, this is a day for us to put our emotions aside, get into harness and do what needs to get done. Like Monday, this Wednesday can be a highly productive day. We can get a great deal done, so long as we don’t get moody or emotional about any of our activities or our sense of dealing with the grunt work. Most of us would prefer devising the big picture and strategizing the means to accomplish the big picture scenario. Some of the twists and turns in the implementation and execution can be less than fun. The latter quality can make up this Wednesday. But if we concentrate on the fine tuning, reworking and the minutiae today, by the end of the day we might feel fully satisfied by how much we have gotten done and may even see a different way for us to operate in the future.

Thursday, February 4th – Battle of Wills – Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course. Thursday begins with the Sagittarius Moon square Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over fourteen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn late in the day. The day begins with someone not being on the same page as us. Perhaps it’s an ego thing, whereby one party feels the need to assert their authority or holds fast to their beliefs as to how things should go. With the wind to our back yesterday, which might have allowed us to get a great deal done, we could have glossed over certain particulars or specific details. Everyone needs a little humility today and a willingness to accept the need to fine tune or rework. Otherwise, people can dig in their heels, assume they are right or just want to have it their way. Even if there is a dustup with someone in the early morning hours or the need to go back over something that was left unsaid or left undone, much of this day may prove to be a ‘mental health’ day, a day when we look for some fun activity, replenish ourselves and find the enjoyment in life. This week is a week of real whipsaws, times when we can get obsessed with what we are doing, can virtually move mountains but also engage a workaholic type of quality. Fortunately, the days this week are interspersed with times when the energy stalls or goes still, which then allow us interludes of recharging our batteries, stepping back from our micro-focus to look at the bigger picture, and times when we can see our lives not merely from what we do but rather nurture who we are. Once any battle of wills is dispensed with today, we can use this Thursday to express our creative talents, take time to enjoy ourselves and see the gestalt of our living beyond just our identity of what we do. As the proverb of the nursery rhyme reminds us: “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”

Friday, February 5th – Significant Connections – Neptune, Venus, Pluto. The earlier four days of this week could have been real whipsaws between intense energies and little energy. This Friday is slightly different for it allows us to find the balance and a more measured rhythm to our day. The Capricorn Moon sextiles Neptune and Venus conjuncts Pluto. We can draw upon our intuitive sense and foresight to devise a best practices approach to achieving our goals. We are less likely to be a ‘bull in a china’ shop today, which might have been some of our energies on Monday and Wednesday when we were in high gear and turbo thrust to accomplish as much as possible. This Friday allows us to be more effective with less expenditure of energy. We could glide through this day with a little help from those significant people that can truly assist us in realizing our goals. Recognizing that we are not islands unto ourselves, we may draw upon someone who can give us sound advice, open doors for us and make us aware of the best form of presentation to achieve our dreams. We may have a certain aura around us, a certain mystique that reveals both an appealing and competent quality to our being. This is a day when we might feel empowered and could secure golden opportunities. We can do so not by forcefulness but rather by our appeal and by someone’s recognition and valuing of our abilities and our personal character.

Saturday, February 6th – Back At It – Pluto, Venus, Uranus, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun. Despite interludes this week when we could have reflected on what was really going on and how we might fit into the bigger picture, much of this week may have been high intensity with us running the sprint with brief moments to recharge our batteries, reflect on what was going, before being back at it going a mile a minute. With such whipsaws of energy, we might have found the week to be exhausting and confusing. In the process, we could have been so involved in what we were doing, looking at both the big picture and the slightest details, that we lost sight of other facets of our lives. Saturday begins with us clearing up and cleaning out any of the routine tasks that we didn’t get to in the week. We may have various errands to attend to, preparations for ‘game day’ tomorrow or just the usual Saturday routine. Much of the energy occurs early in the day, and we may look to accomplishing our ‘to do’ list early in the day so that we have the rest of the day to enjoy ourselves and engage camaraderie with other people. The Capricorn Moon today conjuncts the three transiting Capricorn planets of Pluto, Venus and Mercury. The Moon squares Uranus, the Moon sextiles Mars and the Moon trines Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for fourteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius early on Sunday. Saturday also has the Sun sextile Uranus, Mercury trine Jupiter and Venus square Uranus. Once we do what we need to get done, we might enjoy the spontaneity of being in the moment, doing whatever catches our fancy, and just feeling good about things. While someone might rain on our parade by changing their plans, we can do what we want to do without remorse or the feeling that we have to bend our activities to someone else’s program.

Sunday, February 7th – Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, Super Sunday – Sun, Mars, Venus. The Moon moves into Aquarius today but makes no aspects. We do have martial energies with Mars squared by the Sun and Mars sextiled by Venus today. There can be a lot of passion and intensity today. In the US, today is Super Bowl Sunday, the final blowout of the football season with the championship game. Many US men will be in costume of their favorite team, whether it’s the Denver Broncos or the Carolina Panthers. Whether people participate in the festivities or not, this can be a day when we get together with friends to enjoy ourselves and engage in partying. I have often found that once the Super Bowl championship game is over, the crescendo dies down and the winter doldrums come on strong. Need we go there? Not necessarily so, for tomorrow, Monday the 8th, gives us the Aquarius New Moon and the Chinese New Year of the Red Fire Monkey. This Sunday may be the dark side of the Moon but there is a great deal of energy and intensity. Let’s not use it up all in one day, since tomorrow offers us new beginnings.
