Despite external world attempts to puncture the spirit of this season, holiday gatherings and celebrations are well under way this week.
The week starts with us likely giving thought to friends far and near. This time of year encourages us to touch base with loved ones and get together with family, friends, colleagues and neighbors.
While we have all been conditioned into the shopping experience and melee at this time of year, we may find ourselves emphasizing less as being more this year. Whether out of the anxiety of being in crowded places or just a dawning appreciation that true gifting is offering some meaningful aspect of ourselves, this week allows us to be far more present and real in our interactions with other people.
Time spent in discussions of future plans and awakening talents within ourselves can spread holiday cheer and enthuse us with the possibilities of the forthcoming new year.
The mid-week period can have us focusing on our goals, our ambitions, and our resolutions for the future.
We do have to be wary of impetuous actions, for as we move towards the latter part of the week, accidents and mishaps can occur as a result of leaping forward without looking at the conditions in which we are operating. Let’s look before we leap, for otherwise we could jump into a wall or fall deep into a chasm.
Anything could trigger an untoward response.
The Sagittarius New Moon on Friday offers us a philosophical perspective on doing our lives. We may want to spread our wings, expand our goals and embrace situations that are foreign to our experience. We might also realize the spiritual depth in someone even to the point of sensing a soulmate connection. While people often look at the accoutrements and outer expression of people, our focus can shift to look into the depth of a person’s being, touching their soul and engaging their spirit.
Even though chaos and craziness seem to be running amok in the world, we might feel ourselves going ever deeper in regard to contemplating our earth life journey and our quest for self-realization.
The weekend can be a time when we address social obligations, participate in those events that demand our involvement. We do have to avoid over scheduling or burning the candle at both ends.
While this time of year can be hectic with many social engagements, the beauty of this time of the year is often discovered in the quiet and the reflection of spirit.
This week can be a fast-paced week. Let’s just not let it be frantic or have us running around only to wind up with us going in circles.
Monday, December 7th – In Celebration of Light – Venus, Neptune. The Scorpio Moon today conjuncts Venus and the Moon trines Neptune. We may find ourselves turning inward, giving serious thought to our lives and the ways in which we are living. This is a time of year punctuated by the Winter Solstice when we can appreciate that the light is born in the darkness. We live in a dualistic world of polarities. While there have been grievous tragedies in recent news headlines, these incidents only reflect humanity’s inhumanity to humanity, and in truth a self-loathing. This is a day when we can reflect upon how we have expressed our light of being, shared that light and provided glimmers of light on what often appears to be a global blanket of darkness. I am always reminded of the ripple effects of a pebble dropped into a pond. And so it is with each of us. What good we do in the world, the good we do to another and the good we seek to express in our daily lives is like a pebble in a pond. It has ripple effects. We can come to a deeper understanding that in truth less is often more. Today, we could have heartfelt discussions with that special someone in our life. We need to avoid being self-protective, secretive or jealous. Transparency is called for and a willingness to share the deepest part of our selves. No matter what our religious or philosophical beliefs might be, this is a day to light a candle, whether that candle be literal or the figurative lighting of the spark of the divine expressed through each one of us. We may strip away the irrelevant and focus on the truly essential.
Tuesday, December 8th – Alternate Trajectories – Pluto, Sun, Uranus. Tuesday continues with the Scorpio Moon with the Moon today sextile Pluto. The Sun trines Uranus. We can prioritize and concentrate our energies on the most significant aspects of our lives. We may be looking to bring conclusion to outstanding matters and tie up loose ends. We are not interested in the superficial or the extraneous today. We want to get to the heart of any matter, dissect it and realize what lies at its core, in its very essence. From the fundamentals we can build anew, but our focus may emphasize new aspects of ourselves that we are only now becoming aware of. We may want to take a different route, try something foreign to our experience and spread our wings. Autonomy is called for and the freedom to explore. Let’s keep in mind that these times allow for the magic and mini-miracles of alternate trajectories. We do not have to do it all or try and control situations. We do need to be open to the unexpected and possibilities we might never have considered before.
Wednesday, December 9th – Sharing is Caring – Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury Capricorn. Some of the illuminations we might have realized about ourselves yesterday can be expressed today. We may come to the recognition that we need less rather than more. We could be willing to share our resources today, unburdening ourselves of too much and streamlining our lives, all the while that we are benefitting someone else. The spirit of giving can help us unload excesses that clog our lives. The Scorpio Moon sextiles Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for close to sixteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius later in the day. Mercury exits Sagittarius to enter Capricorn. Our thoughts can narrow from an overly broad, even diffuse, perspective to a viewpoint that looks at the basics, the format and the foundation stones. Like an accordion, we can expand our involvements and other times narrow our engagements. This day may begin with us being expansive in gifting others or sharing our expertise. As the day progresses, we might be far more astute as to what and how we give away.
Thursday, December 10th – Things That Go Bump in the Night – Neptune, Saturn, Mars, Uranus. We may feel out of sorts as we start the day. We might feel encumbered by our responsibilities, other people’s expectations, or our own self-critique. The Sagittarius Moon squares Neptune and the Moon conjuncts Saturn. We could be in a world of confusion as we start this Thursday with us wondering what we should do, all the while feeling that our obligations are thwarting us. As the day progresses, we have to be wary of impulsive actions. Mars opposes Uranus. Our tendency to act or to be triggered by someone else can put us at risk of mishaps or accidents. Our actions or responses can be over-the-top with us pushing too hard or feeling as if we are being pushed too hard. The evening hours call for us to rein in our impetuousness, think before we act, and act in moderation rather than extreme movements.
Friday, December 11th – Better Than This – Uranus, Mars, Sagittarius New Moon, Sun, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Neptune. Friday has the Sagittarius Moon trine Uranus, the Moon sextile Mars, the Sagittarius New Moon with the Moon conjunct the Sun, and the Moon square Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over fourteen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn early Saturday morning. Venus trines Neptune. This is a day for us to have our antennae up and to work with peripheral vision. Things may not go as planned but even better. Today can be a day of surprises and good feelings spread all around. Our relationships can take on an idyllic quality as we appreciate the soulful connection we have with someone. This Friday opens the door to a magical world, a world where we find ourselves being in the right place at the right time. Yes, serendipity is in play today, and we just have to be open to receive. Much of the energy occurs in the morning hours, and we do have to appreciate what comes our way without being too greedy and just wanting more, more, more. When it’s good, it’s very good, and this Friday could be a day when we question whether it can possibly ever get better than this. The beauty of today is the fact that this New Moon influences the next two weeks. We may be looking at travel plans and romantic interludes with the one we love. We might choose the role of explorer and investigate new worlds that are unfamiliar to us. A lovely quality that overhangs our world can be ours for the next two weeks.
Saturday, December 12th – All the Fixings – Mercury, Neptune, Venus. Saturday has the Moon in Capricorn with the Moon conjunct Mercury, and the Moon sextile Neptune in Pisces and the Moon sextile Venus in Scorpio. We may find ourselves running around today, decorating our homes and giving ourselves a personal makeover. We can attend to any number of errands today and especially those that seek to polish, hone and embellish our appearance. This is a good day to plan out our intentions for the forthcoming holidays. We may want to add a little sugar and spice to our day. This is a day for us to embrace faith that all things work out for the best. Someone can prove to be our best advocate, and we may be laying down the foundation stones by which we could realize our greatest ambitions. We can be astute as to how to put things together, but let’s add a little belief in magic. The combination can have us putting our best foot forward while we are being guided by our inner knowing, the natural unfolding of our journey ahead.
Sunday, December 13th – Banging and Crashing About – Pluto, Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Mars, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course. Over the past week, we have had the Uranus Pluto square energized by Mars. Sunday brings a crescendo by means of intensity and the liability to extreme releases of tensions stored up. Sunday has the Capricorn Moon conjunct Pluto and the Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Uranus in Aries and the Moon squares Mars in Libra. This is a day to maintain diplomacy and engage our charm, both of which may be in short supply today. The liability to explosive releases cannot be discounted. Let’s avoid knee jerk reactions, for we could create quite a storm as a result of jealousy, feeling hemmed in or having the sense of someone controlling our actions. No matter what dustups occur during the first part of this Sunday, we can straighten things out and make things right later in the day as the Moon trines Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost fourteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius tomorrow.
