July 6th – 12th, 2015

The emphasis on summer’s good times continues through this week, although the week is bookended by the nefarious Pluto Uranus square.

We are coming into the week just off the long US holiday weekend, and we might be more interested in keeping our holiday spirit[s] going than dealing with our ordinary obligations. We could be living in our make-believe world only to have some sort of anvil thrown at our head. Any sense of the rug being pulled out from under us may serve as a wakeup call, beckoning us back to a check in with reality and asking us to maintain vigilance and be aware and mindful of what is happening in the world around us.

No matter what upsets may be occurring in the world at large, we are far more interested in our own personal realm and initiating our own projected plans and focusing on our own personal intentions. We can easily buy into the belief that what we want we can get through the power of mind over matter and creative visualization.

While there can be instances when we seem to be divinely guided and things fall neatly into place, we do have to watch for bumps along the pathway, bumps that could also translate into whacks on the side of our head.

The mid-week period could have us concentrating ever more on our home and family matters. Although we are convincing ourselves that we are firming up the foundation stones of our base camp in prelude to our expanding our interests and broadening our involvements, subconsciously we might be circling the wagons with a concern that despite our ‘feel good’ attitude all is not right in the world, the larger world of macro events.

The latter part of the week can have us fixing things up, tidying up, sorting through matters and feathering our nest.

As we come into the weekend, we might become cognizant of the expenses that we have run up in enjoying our good times and fun events. Like Greece, Puerto Rico and virtually every nation-state, we could realize the truth to the statement that ‘if you dance to the music, you have to pay to the piper’.

The weekend would be a good time for us to take an account of our financial situation, resolve to be resourceful and embrace the sentiment that sometimes ‘the best things in life are free’.

Monday, July 6th – One Foot In, One Foot Out – Neptune, Sun, Pluto. Monday begins the week with us seeking to continue our lolling about in our summertime holiday mood, all the while that we are feeling the press of our responsibilities like a monkey on our back. The Moon in Pisces conjuncts Neptune, the Moon trines the Sun and the Moon sextiles Pluto. The Sun opposes Pluto, followed at the end of the coming weekend with the Sun square Uranus. Our feelings can be heightened with a reverie-like quality. We may not want to expend too much energy on this Monday. If we could lie on the beach or on our back deck and soak in the warmth of the summer, that would be our preference to doing anything arduous today. We can easily justify a ‘time out’ from our responsibilities as a necessary planning and preparation day. Tending to home and family matters may call to us, but some of this day is also related to the idea of stripping away the superfluous and non-essential. Whether we do so literally or only figuratively, this Monday is a day for us to let go of extraneous matter and cut to the core. In our reflections today, we might realize how much of a transformation we have gone through. We may see ourselves in a different light with a recognition that we are becoming more concentrated, more focused and acting more from our soul than from our expectations.

Tuesday, July 7th – World of Confusion – Mercury, Saturn. Tuesday begins with the Pisces Moon square Mercury and the Moon trine Saturn. The Moon then moves into Aries. We may have a flood of ideas as we start this day, and such a cascade of thoughts flowing through our mind that we could find ourselves dazed and confused. Seeing all the possibilities and all the permutations is not a bad thing, despite the fact that we might wind up in a confused state. I often say that ‘confusion is the starting point of wisdom’, for confusion dispels the reliance on old truths, old beliefs and forces us to deal from a blank slate where we can invite ideas and considerations we might not have taken into account beforehand. Even if we are running around on this Tuesday, whether literally in going from one thing to another to another or figuratively with us pondering a myriad of possibilities, our mental filtration process is likely to sort through things and come up with a focus that we can engage. This sorting through allows us to concentrate on the truly important. As the day progresses, we may gain a second wind and are prepared to put spirit into action.

Wednesday, July 8th – Out of Our Own Way – Lunar T-Square, Mars, Pluto, Sun, Uranus, Neptune, Mercury Cancer. Wednesday ratchets up the energy. We may feel called upon to do something, virtually anything, to impress our personal imprint upon various matters. Let’s be certain that we are not operating from our ego, whereby we feel the need to perform and perform even if only to stay busy. Wednesday has the Aries Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Aries Moon squares both Mars and the Sun in Cancer and the Moon squares Pluto in Capricorn. Late in the day, the Moon conjuncts Uranus. This Wednesday also has Mars trine Neptune and Mercury exiting its own Sign of Gemini to enter Cancer. Although we might have the prodding to push forward today, it could prove far wiser for us to trust our intuitive sense, the sense that we are being guided, that we are co-creators with the universe unfolding and not the sole masters of our destiny. The primary issue of these times — the old paradigm of mastering conditions according to our personal whims versus the new paradigm of accepting our working as co-creators with the universal energies unfolding — is engaged today. If we assume that our brawn and brain can virtually move mountains, we might experience a nasty blowback. If instead we adopt the tai chi moves of understanding and adapting to the universal energies unfolding, we may find ourselves following the right path and a path that has interesting and unexpected trajectories as we go along. Wednesday is a day to be certain that we don’t get in the way of our own inner knowing but instead follow our hunches and intuitive sense.

Thursday, July 9th – Nothing Could Be Finer – Jupiter, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury. Early Thursday can have us up with a thrust of optimism, exuberance and enthusiasm. As we start the day, we may be murmuring: “life is good”. The day begins with the Aries Moon trine both Jupiter and Venus in Leo. We feel good about ourselves, good about our lives and looking forward to get the day going and going it does on an upbeat attitude. Let’s keep in mind that attitude is in deed a strong determiner of how situations develop and turn out. Having a ‘right’ attitude, an appreciation for the lives we live and mindful of the opportunities our lives present us, goes a long way towards making our journey an enjoyable and exciting one. Our confidence and cheerful disposition could prove contagious with everyone we encounter greeting us warmly and impressed by our countenance. As the day progresses, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for six hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before the Moon enters Taurus where today the Moon sextiles Mercury. Building upon our exhilaration, we may use the latter part of the day to feather our nest, purchase those accessories that add panache to our home environment. We might even go on something of a shopping spree as we look to give ourselves, our environment and our lives a personal makeover and one that reflects our new sense of effervescence.

Friday, July 10th – Fine Tuning – Neptune, Mars, Pluto. Friday continues with the Moon in Taurus with the Moon today sextile Neptune, the Moon sextile Mars and the Moon trine Pluto. This is a day when we can hone our image and present ourselves in a solid and impressive manner. Not only are we interested in what is going on with other people. We can also impress people with our passion and determination. We are not interested in the shallow or superficial today. On the contrary, this is a day when we are likely to be highly focused and ready to virtually move mountains but doing so with a winch and the most streamlined methods rather than any arduous exertion. We may be thanking ourselves and everyone around us that this is Friday, for this Friday allows us to be highly productive with the least expenditure of energy. Thursday and Friday can be days when things seem to glide easily along. The more we can accomplish over these two days, the better it would be, especially in light of the fact that the energies next week could prove quite intense and extremely volatile. Let’s use this day to concentrate on dealing with things step by step, all with the intended purpose of prioritizing our immediate goals.

Saturday, July 11th – Another Brick in the Wall – Sun, Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn. Saturday has the Taurus Moon sextile the Sun and the Moon triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Jupiter and Venus both in Leo and the Moon opposes Saturn in Scorpio. Although we are looking at fixing up our home environment, providing comfort to our family and enjoying ourselves with good times and fun stuff, we might also become cognizant of the expenses we have accrued along the way. We live in a consumer society where in the US the gross domestic product [GDP] is 70% consumer spending. We have been conditioned, encouraged and seduced into buying ‘stuff’ whether we have the money in our pockets or not. The plastic money of credit cards has allowed us to buy and spend with small regard to the debt load we are carrying. Living on debt has become a ‘new normal’, seen no more vividly than in the costs of colleges and the financial aid offered students who take on a student debt load that dogs many of them into their middle-aged years. This Saturday we might be more aware of our financial picture, and it would be a good day for us to consider creating a budget whereby we look at what our necessary expenses are, what we can put away in savings and what we can contribute to paying down our various financial debts. Unlike nation-states that can just print more money, none of us as individuals have such a luxury. Nation-states may be able to kick the can down the road perhaps in perpetuity [BUT perhaps not], but not so for us. Today would be a day for us to consider getting our financial house in order. Two good sources for financial advice are Suze Orman and Dave Ramsey. If we take the time now to be fully aware of our financial situation and get our financial house in order, we can enjoy ourselves without fearing our financial situation being only a house of cards. Late in the day, the Moon moves into Gemini. We are likely to put aside whatever we have been working on during the day and enjoy a whirlwind of fun involvements in the evening.

Sunday, July 12th – Sally Go ‘Round the Roses – Neptune, Sun, Uranus. Sunday could be a confusing day. The Gemini Moon squares Neptune. The Sun opposed Pluto to begin the week, reverberating the Uranus Pluto square that we have dealt with over the past three years, has the Sun square Uranus today. We may not know where we are going or what we are doing today. We might even feel as if we are going around in circles. This day is not a time to try and figure things out. We may have to be alert and adept at changing circumstances, some of which might seem to have no rhyme or reason. This is a day for us to go with the flow, be flexible and open to unanticipated variables. We may be looking at making changes to our lives, but let’s keep in mind that the universal energies are co-directing our journey with us, so it is important that we keep mindful as to the signs along the way. It is important that we not exhaust ourselves nor be too fixed about the way we think things should go. Although liable to be a confusing day, we can enjoy the kaleidoscope of sights and sounds and sensations without judgment or evaluation.
