July 20th – 26th, 2015

This week can have us emphasizing summertime fun activities and expressing our best talents.

Last week might not have been the end of the world, but there were certainly some interesting hiccups along the way. With the energies having been quite intense during the mid-week period of this past week and their influence coloring the week and influencing the two-week period up until the Full Moon on the 31st, it is interesting to note some of last week’s goings-on, situations that might unfold further in the autumn period. Despite a vociferous and overwhelming ‘no’ to austerity vote in the Greek referendum, the Greek government accepted an even greater austerity program than first proposed from its other member states in the European Union. The week also concluded the interminable Iran nuclear negotiations with some commentators criticizing the deal as akin to Chamberlain’s Munich Agreement in 1938, often referred to as attempted appeasement of Adolf Hitler. And the week had the beginnings of the military operations exercises known as Jade Helm 15 in the southwest US.

That was then, this is now and the now of this week seems far more pleasant, at least until we come to the weekend.

We may begin the week with attention to detail, addressing issues and straightening things out. If we have stepped on toes, been slipshod in our methods, then this early part of the week affords us the opportunities to clean up our act and clear up any situations where we might have exhibited less than our best.

As we move towards the latter part of the week, we might give greater attention to summertime activities. With back-to-school sales implying a return to our autumn routine, we could have the sense that the summer is slip sliding away. Before we lose the summer to our autumn routine, we may choose to go for the gusto and find some fun activities to engage or pick ‘get out of Dodge’ cards to play.

With the Sun and Mercury exiting Cancer to enter Leo, we have a Stellium of three or more planets in the Fixed Fire Sign. No matter what we choose to do, we are interested in exploring our fun side, our creative side, and giving voice to our talents.

While the weekdays of this week can provide some exhilarating experiences, the end of the week and the weekend is a different matter altogether.

The weekend could prove intense, and we need to keep our wits about us, maintain constant vigilance and slow our actions down. The liability of hasty maneuvers can trigger accidents, and people may play the blame game, excusing their own behavior as a result of someone else’s conduct. The weekend may be dicey with a flurry of confused movements. Fortunately, the end of the weekend and end of this week provides solace. No matter the depth of intensity earlier in the weekend, the weekend closes out on a high note of good feelings and pleasurable involvements.

Monday, July 20th – Dealing With Specifics – Pluto, Mars, Mercury. Monday begins the week with the Moon continuing its passage through Virgo with the Moon today trine Pluto and the Moon sextile both Mars and Mercury. This is a day when we can cut to the core, prioritize our involvements and focus on the truly meaningful. Things may fall neatly into place today and we might expedite our projects by taking things step by step with a focus on the goal. If we stumbled about last week, today allows us to sort things out and straighten things up. We may find ourselves tidying up, tying up loose ends, clarifying situations and concentrating on the important aspects of our lives. We could be surprised by how easily things can develop when we are not distracted by the extraneous or distracting. We might set the week on a right course by attending to our scheduling for the week and the weeks ahead, all with in mind that our preparations and intentions are subject to change, always subject to change during these volatile times.

Tuesday, July 21st – Finishing Touches – Sun, Saturn. Tuesday begins with the Moon finishing its transit of Virgo and in so doing the Moon sextiles the Sun in Cancer and the Moon sextiles Saturn in Scorpio. The Moon then moves into Libra. The Sun trines Saturn today, followed by Mercury trine Saturn tomorrow. This is a day when we can conclude certain outstanding matters and deal with past issues that might have resurfaced from last year. If there have been family matters left unattended, this Tuesday is a day when we can address any unresolved issues and clear the air. We might find ourselves dealing with the structure of our lives — home projects, financial affairs and old incidents. Let’s keep in mind the wise suggestion to ‘build upon rock, not upon sand’. Whatever we accomplished yesterday in our straightening and tidying, we can complete early on this Tuesday. The energy then shifts, and we become more aware of other people’s needs and wants. From a concentrated focus on dealing with our own issues and any pressing demands, we look up from our workbench and become more interested in what is occurring in other people’s lives.

Wednesday, July 22nd – Second Wind – Pluto, Mercury, Saturn, Sun Leo. Wednesday has the Moon in Libra square Pluto. Mercury trines Saturn, following yesterday’s Sun trine Saturn. The Sun exits Cancer to enter its own Sign of Leo. Someone could have high expectations for us today, as though we have an I.O.U. with them and they are calling in our obligation and asking for our help. While we might be sidetracked today, our assistance can come in the form of brain rather than brawn. We can be highly effective in devising a best practices approach to someone else’s issue, explain it to them clearly and then encourage them to take care of their matters. This day brings closure to the Cancer Stellium of three planets in the Cardinal Water Sign. With the Sun entering Leo today, followed by Mercury tomorrow, we are shifting from a Cancer powerpack to a Leo powerpack. Our compassion and willingness to take care of, albeit sometimes enabling, other people may diminish as we consider what we want to do, opportunities for us to express ourselves and a desire for summer funtime activities. We may feel as though we have gained a second wind. Our emotions and moodiness that may have been strong for much of the early summer might shift, and we could feel like we are looking at the world through a different lens — a far more optimistic and enjoyable viewpoint. We can turn our focus away from looking over our shoulder and reviewing our past to concentrating on expressing our voice, our talents and our personal interests. We could feel as though our passion has been reengaged and we are considering the avenues and formats by which to express ourselves. Even if we have felt tired and dragging over recent weeks, we are likely to get a burst of energy now and over the next few weeks.

Thursday, July 23rd – Twist and Shout – Lunar T-Square, Mars, Uranus, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Sun, Mercury, Mercury Leo. The early part of Thursday has the Libra Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Mars and the Moon opposes Uranus. The Moon later sextiles Jupiter before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost eight hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio where late today the Moon sextiles Venus. Mercury exits Cancer to enter Leo creating a Stellium of three planets in the Fixed Fire Sign and the Sun conjuncts Mercury. Our sleep state Wednesday night, early Thursday morning might be less than restful with liabilities to tossing and turning. And the early morning hours could have us twisting to this situation, that situation and situations that arise without warning yet with such vexations making us ready to shout out loud. Whatever we have scheduled for early Thursday could go awry or we could find ourselves adding more to our ‘to do’ list by reason of unexpected situations cropping up that demand our immediate attention. Let’s avoid glossing over situations no matter how much we might be juggling. We could draw upon someone else’s expertise to take care of some of the matters with which we have to deal. And in taking care of what we intended and the unintended, we may feel a greater confidence in our abilities and gain the admiration of someone impressed by our capabilities. We may be aware that we are coming close to the end of July, even a sense of Summer passing by, and in our awareness commit to planning some trips or recreational activities. The latter part of the day can have us feeling confident, optimistic and upbeat. We are considering how best we can present ourselves in a perfect light and might recognize that our attitude presents our first impression.

Friday, July 24th – Too Much Fun – Sun, Mercury, Neptune. You know the drill: “If you dance to the music, you’ve got to pay to the piper.” Friday could bring that concept to mind. This Friday begins with the Scorpio Moon square both the Sun and Mercury in Leo. Whether we have enjoyed ourselves too much or are planning our summertime recreational activities, the question of cost and expense could put a damper on this Friday. It would be wise for us to look at our financial situation and consider how we can balance out our creative interests and our monetary position. Later in the day, the Moon trines Neptune. Even if we cannot go first class in our intended pursuits, we may find that we could enjoy ourselves, express ourselves and stretch our cost-saving measures in ways that don’t leave us financially strapped. We don’t have to mute our voice, still our talents or curtail our involvements. Creative planning and due diligence can find us ways by which we can do what we want without breaking the bank.

Saturday, July 25th – Taking It Down a Notch – Pluto, Mars, Uranus, Venus retrograde. Saturday continues with the Scorpio Moon with the Moon today sextile Pluto and the Moon trine Mars. This Saturday can be a highly productive day, a day when we focus on what needs to get done and we do it expeditiously and with grit and determination. This is a day for us to cut to the core and determine our priorities. We can accomplish a great deal, but it would be wise for us to put on the brakes now and again to avoid us going too fast in order to get too far. There are a couple of monkey wrenches to this day. The more significant one is Mars square Uranus. Our determination and grit to virtually move mountains today could lead us to pushing too hard and being impetuous in our actions. We have to be careful of accidents today, accidents triggered by our hastiness and liability to engage brawn before brain. We need to slow things down and not get carried away by our enthusiasm or get tripped up by unexpected situations that might arise. The other monkey wrench to the day is Venus turning retrograde in Virgo. Diplomacy may go out the window, as people become more critical and see the flaws rather than the sterling qualities in other people. Relationships could become problematic but largely due to everyone being so focused on what they want to do and the ways in which they want to do it.

Sunday, July 26th – Darkness Before Dawn – Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Sun, Mercury, Uranus retrograde. The early morning hours of Sunday could be a little difficult. We might feel burnt out by yesterday’s activities. Perhaps we over exerted ourselves or we found ourselves banging up against so much resistance from behind. The day begins with the Scorpio Moon square Jupiter and the Moon conjunct Saturn. We may begin the day in a bit of a funk. The Moon then moves into Sagittarius where today the Moon squares Venus and later the Moon trines both the Sun and Mercury. Uranus turns retrograde until the latter part of December. Even if we start this Sunday somewhat irritable and feeling lethargic, the day brightens as the day goes along. We can shake off any lingering emotional fatigue and annoyance and begin to look on the sunny side of things. We might participate in fun activities and stretch our wings to explore new interests, new realms. Let’s keep in mind that there are times when the energy shifts dramatically, and this could prove one of those days. If we get the day going on the wrong foot, then let’s shift our stance and enjoy the latter part of the day. Just as the energies are volatile now, so too are our emotions. We don’t have to stay in a funk but can pull ourselves out by embracing a fresh perspective and broadening our reach. We end the weekend and the week on a high note, a welcome way to recharge ourselves before the week ahead.
