This week is a week of endings and beginnings, with the imprint for the next fortnight from the Gemini New Moon towards the beginning of the week and the Summer Solstice on Sunday bringing the official start to Summer and closure to the Spring Season.
This is a relatively placid week, especially when compared to some of our recent times. We may be far more interested in socializing, getting together with family and friends and having a good time rather than dealing with our regular routines. If we could all jump off the track of our daily habits and engage the new and exciting, we surely would do so.
The Gemini New Moon on Tuesday with its Aquarian decanate speaks to possibilities, taking into account new prospects and considering our future rather than our past, or even our present. We may wish to do an immediate transformation of who we are, what we do and our obligations, but let’s be wary that we are not looking at throwing the baby out with the bath water. While things can often change in a nanosecond, true transformation evolves over time.
Although we could have our head in the clouds regarding future plans, we need to keep our feet firmly planted on the ground. Such a suggestion might prove a tall order, especially since we are more likely to assume that our desires will make it so and that our intentions will manifest in accord with our wishes. Having a plan and working towards it is always recommended, but it would be wise in planning our future that we do so in pencil with a large eraser.
These times speak to the magic and miracles of asequential reality, whereby things can occur in a random and most unexpected manner. Even with the best intentions, we have to avoid falling back into the old mindset of being in control of situations and being the master of our world. Increasingly, the universal unfolding is taking the driver’s seat with us being in the position of being co-creator with the universe in our life’s journey.
The weekend can be a fun time, a time to enjoy the camaraderie of good friends and a time to stretch our wings and do something unfamiliar to us in order to engage the excitement and wonder of the world.
The weekend ends on Sunday with the Summer Solstice, the beginning of Summer as the Sun moves into Cancer. It is also Father’s Day in the US, and many of us may have to pay homage to our ancestors. No matter what our relationship might be regarding our parental figures, let’s keep in mind that we picked them. Before we landed on the earth plane, we went to the Akashic records to view our soul’s developments through the ages and we chose the coordinates into which to come into this life journey, choices that included our original family members.
Let’s appreciate our ancestors without feeling constrained by them. The Sun shines brightest in the Northern latitudes on this Sunday, and so too can we shine the depth and character of our individual personality.
Monday, June 15th – Living for the Good Times – Venus, Neptune, Jupiter. Monday could be slightly on the manic side thanks to the Gemini Moon sextile both Venus and Jupiter in Leo and the Moon square Neptune. We could be heralding our accomplishments, talking up our talents and even exaggerating our abilities. There’s a great deal of talk on this Monday with people looking to take center stage. Although we can be feeling upbeat, enthusiastic, optimistic and confident, we could also be overly generous, spend too much and prove to be a little over-the-top. We are looking for fun adventures and whether we head out on the highway today or make plans to get out of Dodge, our focus may be more on what lies at a distance rather than that which is under our nose. While this can be one ‘feel good’ day, let’s try and keep aware of the conditions and circumstances around us. So taken might we be with our own script, we could lose sight of the parameters in which we are operating and we might wind up stepping in ‘it’.
Tuesday, June 16th – Flipping Into Overdrive – Uranus, Mars, Gemini New Moon, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course. This day begins with a major thrust of energy and a thrust that can impact the next two weeks. The day begins with the Gemini Moon sextile Uranus. The Moon then conjuncts Mars just prior to the Gemini New Moon with the Moon conjunct the Sun. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost nine hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini and before the Moon enters Cancer later in the day. With today’s New Moon we have an imprint for the next two weeks as the Moon waxes towards the Full Moon on July 1st. This day can have us turning up the volume, picking up the pace. We may be making our plans, considering our future prospects and reaching out to contact any number of people. Like a butterfly, we might go from one thing to another to another, pausing briefly at any one thing before heading off in some new direction. We may be far more interested in things that speak to who we are becoming rather than who we have been. All of us may be considering making significant changes that align more with how we feel ourselves to be in the moment rather than the conditioning of our past. While we can be juggling any number of things today, we might need to keep in mind that our involvement in each is perhaps cursory at best. Whatever we choose to do today and especially in regard to our plans for the future, it would be wise to write our intentions in pencil with a giant eraser for we may be making decisions without full information and without the unanticipated variables that could crop up in the interim between our plans and our implementation. The day begins with a great thrust of energy but dies down as we move further into the day. Things can be spiked to start the day and level out later in the day.
Wednesday, June 17th – Fantasy and Reality – Neptune, Pluto. Wednesday is a paradoxical day. The Cancer Moon trines Neptune early in the day, and the Moon opposes Pluto late in the day. We can start this day in a moody and idyllic frame of mind. We might envisage our own perfect world and even believe that such a world exists just beyond our reach. Our mantram might even include: ‘if we can believe it, we can see it.’ Although creative visualization, wish lists and intentions are all worthy of the power of our minds, we also have to avoid assuming our mastery over the world and sole creator of our personal world. Too often, humankind has allowed their own wants and supposed needs to carve out the world — the environment, resources, ways of acting and being — all with the idea that humankind is the epitome of creation and the height of evolution. Sounds grandiose, wouldn’t you say? One of the truths of these times is the old adage ‘you reap what you sow’. Our sowing has often been done with the belief that we held dominance over the earth dominion. This attitude has also engrained itself in our personal habits whereby we have believed and even been taught and conditioned to master our personal world. Then comes along the paradigm shift, moving us from sequential, linear reality into an asequential, non-linear reality whereby things occur not in sequence but often in a seemingly, to our mind, random manner. It is a humbling experience but also allows us to be open to the magic and mini-miracles of these times. The early part of this day allows us to fantasize about what can be while the latter part of the day can provide a pushback, a little humility, about what actually is. If we would blend the two energies of this day, then we could visualize what we want to accomplish, all the while using a best practices approach to develop the means to realize our goals, but always with an eraser to either change our trajectory or fine tune our way in accord with variables arising that shift the parameters.
Thursday, June 18th – Home Bound – Uranus. Thursday continues with the Cancer Moon with the Moon today square Uranus. Either we would prefer to stay home or we might find that our family matters are holding us back from doing what we want to do. There can be something of a tug-of-war between familiarity and the new. Like a metronome, we might feel as though we have to swing from one side to another, placating someone else’s need for us to be the same as we have been to the other side of engaging the new and different aspects of a burgeoning change in our sense of Self. This is a day when balance is called for. If we feel constrained and restricted, our reaction might be one of impulsiveness and impetuousness to do something that shakes up other people’s expectations of us. We may want to make major changes in our lives, but it would be wise for us to take things step by step, making minor adjustments and subtle shifts. Minimal adjustments can lead to major transformations and some of these adjustments can be as simple as changing things in our home environment, a different take on our appearance or just doing things in a way that we are unaccustomed to. Although we might prefer the sanctity of our home and our familiar, this is a day to stretch, even if only barely, into the unknown. We do not have to commit for the long-term but we might want to sample and try out things that are enticing and exciting.
Friday, June 19th – Ready for the Weekend – Saturn, Mercury. Friday begins with the Cancer Moon trine Saturn. The Moon then moves into Leo where today the Moon sextiles Mercury. We can start the day with finishing touches to outstanding loose ends, straightening up around our home base and bringing completion to our routine weekly obligations. Once we have attended to what needs to get done, we can make our plans for the weekend — what we are going to do and with whom we are going to do it. We may have a wide array of possibilities for this weekend, and we might assume that we can engage them all. No matter what our plans might be for this weekend, it would be wise for us to keep space available for events that might come about suddenly and unexpectedly. We may not want to be tied down by commitments but rather engage exciting opportunities as they arise. This is a weekend for fun activities, and we might look to begin the weekend early. After all, we are officially moving into Summer on Sunday, and we might choose to celebrate the longest day of the year in the Northern latitudes all weekend long. Have we returned to half day Fridays? Possibly so, at least in our mind’s eye if not in implementation. As the day progresses, we are stepping off the track of our daily routines, whether physically or mentally.
Saturday, June 20th – Abudanza – Venus, Jupiter, Uranus. Saturday continues with the Leo Moon, and today the Moon conjuncts both Venus and Jupiter, and the Moon trines Uranus. Even if we don’t have two nickels to rub together and our finances are severely strained, our expansive mood today may know no bounds. We have credit cards, and this day could see us charging up a storm trying to satiate our insatiable appetites. We may be feeling upbeat, justifying our actions by fulfilling our desires, and living for the day with little regard for the implications or the consequences of our actions. Saturday is a day for fun, enjoyment and good times with more being merrier. Everyone may be looking at being on center stage, and we might prefer the company of members of our mutual admiration society to anyone who might try to rain on our parade or inhibit our ‘feel good’ attitude. This is not a day for conflict or disappointments. On the contrary, we are looking to be generous to a fault, do more and ever more and with the mantram of carpe diem [‘seize the day’]. While this is a day for us to recharge our batteries, re-create our being and reinvigorate ourselves, let’s try to rein in irrational exuberance that could lead us down the garden path. Let’s enjoy ourselves but maintain a budget on our expenditures. Late in the day we could get some startling news that opens new doors for us to explore.
Sunday, June 21st – Here Comes Summer – Mars, Saturn, Sun, Summer Solstice, Sun Cancer. Sunday closes out the Spring Season and officially starts the Summer Season with the Summer Solstice and the Sun moving into the Cardinal Water Sign of Cancer. The Leo Moon today sextiles Mars and the Moon squares Saturn. We then have the Summer Solstice and the Moon moving into Virgo to sextile the Sun. This is also Father’s Day in the US, and we might find ourselves spending time with our father whether physically, on the phone, or in memory of our Dad. We may find ourselves taking a walk down Memory Lane, reflecting on our past but in true emotional kaleidoscope fashion remembering the good, the bad and the ugly. While some of the day might trigger the obligatory obeisance to our male archetype, our father, we may then turn to pleasant summertime activities as the day progresses. Whether we have done so or not, we could engage the typical summer events of getting out-of-doors, having a barbecue, going for a dip in the pool or other water body, and feeling the warmth of summer. A long, hard winter may be a distant memory as we enjoy the season that often brings out the light and the sunshine in each one of us.
