May 4th – 10th, 2015

More than once this week we might ask ourselves: “which end is up?”

While some of the past weeks may have seemed slow starting, not this week. Maybe we are still feeling the intense emotional impact of last night’s, early this morning’s, Scorpio Full Moon. We might have felt as though an exorcism had been performed, whether we were the exorcist or the exorcisee. Releases, ventings, even ragings could have occurred under the influence of last evening’s Full Moon.

This week can begin with us fast out of the starting gate but with the liability to extremes. Nothing may be done in half measure as we start the week. It might seem as though all the chips are being placed on the table with the sentiment of ‘all or nothing at all’. What we need to bear in mind is the reality that ‘the house always wins’. Let’s not bet the ranch or everything we have on our desires or hopes for wish fulfillment.

While moderation is called for at the start of the week, it is likely to go unheeded.

During the mid-week period, we can start to get a grip, be more reasonable in our expectations and our intentions and cut back on the excesses we may have engaged to begin the week. If we haven’t created a royal mess for ourselves, we can clamber out and start to set things right.

The middle of the week could prove productive, pleasant and expansionary in an unexpected and exciting manner. We may have tried to win our ways through our own force to begin the week, but the universe is likely to step in mid-week and provide us with a taste of magic and an occasional mini-miracle.

A more serious tone takes hold towards the end of the week. Whether we have discovered a new trajectory for ourselves or are just more focused and realistic in our pursuits, we can accomplish a great deal towards the end of the week.

The weekend could prove confusing with us tempted to do this, that and any other thing that captures our fancy. We end the week with Mother’s Day on Sunday. Whether with Mom herself or with friends or a special someone, we are likely to be back into the consideration of our expansive mode, thinking about all the wonderful things that we can do and how we can do them. Come home, Walter Mitty.

Monday, May 4th – All This And More – Pluto, Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Mars, Sun. Unless we can keep a hold on our emotions and our great expectations, this Monday can be a whirlwind day of excess, extremes and a determination to roll the boulder up the mountain, and not any mountain but more likely a mountain akin to Kilimanjaro. The Scorpio Moon today sextiles Pluto and the Moon triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon square Jupiter and the Moon opposed Mars. The Sun squares Jupiter. We could accomplish a great deal today if we would only rein in our sense of being able to do it all and then some. The liability to overdoing with the assumption that we can virtually move mountains today could be strong, and we might easily accept the temptation. Our generosity may know no bounds, and everyone could be somewhat pompous, grandiose and narcissistic. Even if we attempt to take on more than we can humanly handle, we might find various delays operating, the expenses greater than we imagined and our over the Moon self-confidence stunted. This is a day to avoid our optimism and enthusiasm entangling us in any and all sorts of messes. Due diligence and deliberation are called for before we head off on a quixotic journey today.

Tuesday, May 5th – A Fine Fix – Saturn, Mercury. If we overdid it yesterday, got caught up in irrational exuberance to the extent of extending ourselves on a wing and a prayer, we could find ourselves in a fine fix on this Tuesday. As the saying goes: “if you dance to the music, you have to pay to the piper.” Tuesday could be payback time. Certainly, we may be dealing with old issues and past matters today. The Moon moves into Sagittarius where today the Moon conjuncts Saturn and the Moon opposes Mercury. We might feel as though the wind has been knocked out of our sails and that we are merely spinning around in Sargasso-like Seas. This is a day when it would be wise for us to focus on our responsibilities and tasks at hand before launching off into unexplored territory. The latter part of the day could have us entertaining all sorts of possibilities, some of which are likely to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. It would be easy for us to try and put blinders on and not deal with what needs to be done. Even if we do attend to outstanding matters, we could still find ourselves tripped up by past situations and dazed by the world of possibilities we can easily entertain. Let’s not play the blame game whereby we assert that someone else has gotten us into a fine fix, when in truth the fine fix we might be in is of our own making.

Wednesday, May 6th – New Track, New Trajectories – Neptune, Lunar Grand Trine, Jupiter, Uranus, Sun, Pluto. If we can shake off some of the energies of the past two days, not feel dazed or confused by what has gone on, this Wednesday could prove a wonder-filled, magical day and could prove the best day of this week. No longer a ‘hump’ day, we might be able to turn this into a takeoff day, if we work with the energies. Today, the Sagittarius Moon squares Neptune, and then the Moon triggers a Fire Grand Trine with the Moon trine Jupiter in Leo and the Moon trine Uranus in Aries. The Sun trines Pluto. It is important to recognize in the new paradigm that things no longer occur solely in a sequential, linear progression. And this Wednesday could give indication of the new paradigm of asequential, non-linear unfolding. Things can open up some wondrous opportunities in a most unexpected manner. We just have to keep our eyes and ears open, work with peripheral vision and be open to the mini-miracles that could come our way. New doors or glimmers of new situations can come forward if we are open to receive.

Thursday, May 7th – Distant Connections and Back to Home – Venus, Venus Cancer. The Sagittarius Moon today opposes Venus before the Moon exits Sagittarius to enter Capricorn and before Venus exits Gemini to enter Cancer. We may be reaching out to connect with people far from where we are. Many of us might prefer to be traveling, stepping off the track of our regular routine and engaging distant, mysterious environs. Whether we physically travel, plan a trip or idle our thoughts of far-off destinations in the comfort of our home or workplace, we might be more interested in foreign situations than our own familiar terrain. Snap back! As the day progresses, the Moon exits Sagittarius and moves into Capricorn while Venus exits Gemini to enter Cancer. Suddenly, the familiar and the routine may be far more appealing than the exotic and esoteric. We can focus on what needs to be accomplished, all the while that we have the home fires burning or cooling, depending upon where the volatile temperatures outside are trending. Thursday may be a paradoxical day, a day when we start off with our head in the clouds only to finish up with our feet on the ground.

Friday, May 8th – Moving Mountains – Neptune, Pluto, Sun, Uranus. Monday and Tuesday, we might have had the intention of moving mountains and doing so conceptually but with little practical effect. Our ambitions may not be so grand on this Friday, but we can achieve a great deal. The Capricorn Moon today sextiles Neptune, the Moon conjuncts Pluto, the Moon trines the Sun and the Moon squares Uranus. This is a day when we can draw upon our intuitive sense, consider a best practices approach and then get more done than we might first have imagined. We might feel that our independence and freedom of movement are being clipped today and that instead we are in harness, but this Friday could prove a highly productive day when in fact we might figure out the easiest way to move mountains. The end of the day could have us considering doing things on the spur of the moment, reenergizing our sense of whimsy and engaging the impulse of spontaneity. We just have to be careful regarding what we choose to do. If we are looking to blow off steam, let’s be sure that we aren’t in the way of any blowback.

Saturday, May 9th – Getting Our Bearings – Mars, Saturn, Mercury, Neptune. Saturday begins with the Capricorn Moon, which today has the Moon trine Mars. The Moon then qoes into Aquarius where tonight, early tomorrow, the Moon sextiles Saturn. Mercury squares Neptune. This could be a day when we can deal with many of our errands, taking care of various details. The key aspect to this day is for us not to overload ourselves with what we feel we need to get done. We could easily find ourselves in a whirlwind of activity but without focus or attention to what we are doing. Communications can be off and misunderstandings rampant. It is essential that we get our bearings, clarify our discussions and our plans and have an itinerary to this day. While we might have a lot of activity today, let’s be certain that we are not lost in a maze but rather walking a labyrinth to get to the center and then out. The evening can be a fun catch up with a special someone but may go longer than we anticipated.

Sunday, May 10th – Momma on a Pedestal – Mercury, Jupiter. Sunday is Mother’s Day, the day when we are certain to touch base with our Mom, give her words of appreciation and flower her with gratitude, or at the very least a bouquet of flowers. Today, the Aquarius Moon trines Mercury and the Moon opposes Jupiter. While this day is often a day to walk down Memory Lane, share in the experiences of years ago and speak about the family connections with the concept that ‘blood is thicker than water’, this Sunday might be more focused on future plans and goals rather than looking over the past memorabilia. This can be a highly pleasant day, a day when we can communicate our thoughts and our feelings. As we come to the end of the day, we have to be wary that we don’t overdo. Dinners out could prove pricey and may try to prove the point of our love for someone. Saying it with words may have far greater meaning than a good meal or a bunch of flowers. Let’s speak from the heart for the appreciation we have for our Mom and those special people who have nurtured and comforted us.
