This is the last full week of the Winter season, and this week has quite a crescendo of energy. There is nothing dull about this week as the intensity ratchets up.
The week begins as many of our past weeks have begun — slow starting. We might be hard pressed to get going at the beginning of this week, but the energy shifts dramatically, and suddenly we are in turbothrust.
The mid-week period can have us in high gear, pushing the envelope, even to the point of people becoming obstreperous and belligerent. Be wary of what you hear or read in the news, for there could be some fairly intense decisions and actions taken this week. Yes, this mid-week period is a time for us to be careful in our dealings with other people and out in the world.
The Uranus Pluto square that has daunted us since the Summer of 2012 is getting closer to its final exactitude which occurs early next week. This week, the Uranus Pluto square is triggered by Mars in the mid-week. We need to be self-disciplined, slow things down and not be impetuous. The liability is towards acting without thinking and the possible consequences include accidents, ragings and explosive outbursts. Arguments could prove heated and easily segue into physical altercations.
Spring may be around the corner, but this week we might be venting the winter of our discontent. After the mid-week rumble, things ease off as we coast to the end of the week and over the weekend.
Apart from the mid-week Mars triggering, Mercury exits Aquarius to enter Pisces, a Sign of its Detriment where Mercury is not at all comfortable. Our thinking shifts from foresight and vision to emotional, moody and often confused.
Another major energy shift occurs on the weekend, as Saturn turns from direct to retrograde motion. Even if we want to be in high gear, things may slow down and accomplishing matters may be fraught with frustration, delays and taking longer than we would like.
The weekend ends with the Uranus Pluto square ramped up with the next couple of days dramatic and / or traumatic.
The week builds up to the mid-week period when we might feel that we are riding a fifteen-foot wave. Let’s not wipe out but rather maintain our cool and ride the rest of the week with an upbeat attitude and a breather readying for the intensity at the end of the weekend and the early part of next week.
Monday, March 9th – Considerations. Monday starts the week with the Moon moving into Scorpio. The Moon makes no aspects today, so this day may be slow-starting. We may go inside, focus more on our internal workings, as we consider what we want to concentrate on and what we want to be rid of. People may be holding their cards close to their chest today, secretive and unwilling to fully communicate what’s going on with them. This is a day when more goes on than meets the eye, although no one is likely to be telling. Our emotions can be stretched out, and everyone might be feeling a tinge, or a strong dose, of resentment. Be wary of the wailers, for those who do communicate may be those people who see what is wrong in the world, nothing right. This Monday is a day for us to consider our plans, catch some rest, especially in light of the fact that the next few days could have us on Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. We may want to fasten our seat belts for the next two days, for we could be in for a swift and bumpy ride.
Tuesday, March 10th – On a Wing And a Prayer – Neptune, Jupiter, Pluto, Mars. Tuesday ramps up the energy significantly. The Scorpio Moon trines Neptune, the Moon squares Jupiter and the Moon sextiles Pluto. Mars trines Jupiter as a prelude to tomorrow’s Mars Uranus conjunction and Mars Pluto square. We may have the sentiment that ‘if it feels right, it must be right.’ Whatever catches our fancy today and appeals to our emotions can have us going full sprint in that direction. We might feel as though we could conquer the world. In so doing, we might try to do too much, take on more than we can possibly handle, and assume that we are both invincible and omnipotent. Unfortunately, such an attitude could lay a trap of ensnaring us in some nasty pushbacks tomorrow. Although we are unlikely to heed cautionary advice and suggestions of engaging due diligence, this is a day when we could be highly assertive to the point of being downright aggressive. Not only do the energies today and tomorrow warn of personal infractions due to excessive behavior, but we could also see extremes and excesses occurring on the world stage with some intense reactions tomorrow. We may feel energized today, but it would be wise for us to harness our energy and concentrate it on meaningful projects and matters that serve a true purpose for us.
Wednesday, March 11th – Boom, Bang, Boom – Sun, Mercury, Mars, Uranus, Pluto. The Scorpio Moon today trines the Sun and the Moon squares Mercury. The major player today, and major major it is, is Mars triggering the Uranus Pluto square with Mars conjunct Uranus and Mars square Pluto. This is a day when we need to keep our wits about us, and engage the keywords of these times: awareness and mindfulness. We need to avoid hasty decisions or impetuous actions for we might not have full information, may not account for unanticipated variables, and as a result could find situations initiated boomeranging and hitting us in the face. This is one explosive energy today. People may be acting out, accidents are likely to occur, and there could be various attacks. Aggressive behavior could be the flavor of the day, but likely to be slapped down. While headline news could prove upsetting, let’s keep account of how matters are impacting us directly and personally. Everyone might have a very short fuse today, and it would be wise to count to ten and avoid knee-jerk reactions. Responses to assaults may be more detrimental than beneficial. If we find ourselves in heated discussions or worse, let’s try to defuse the situation, for the consequences could make matters even worse. Late in the day, the Moon moves into Sagittarius and could lower the temperature. We just need to get through the firestorm.
Thursday, March 12th – Flickers of Light in the Tunnel – Saturn, Neptune, Lunar Grand Trine, Jupiter, Uranus, Mercury Pisces. We might start this day feeling disheartened and behind the eight ball. The Sagittarius Moon starts the day with the Moon conjunct Saturn and the Moon square Neptune. Whatever might have occurred yesterday of a negative theme could impact how we feel as we begin this Thursday. We may feel like a pawn in a game of mad chess, being played by the powers-that-be, prey to the vagaries of these times. While we might have to address outstanding matters or past issues today, we could find ourselves resentful in having to do so. While the early part of the day could prove heavy and joyless, the energy shifts dramatically towards the end of the day. Like a heavy clouding lifted from hanging over us, we could get a second wind, feel more optimistic and joyful as the day progresses. The Moon creates a Fire Grand Trine with the Moon trine Jupiter in Leo and the Moon trine Uranus in Aries. No matter what is going on in the world-at-large, we could find windows of opportunities available to us by which we can slide through, expand our interests and find new trajectories for us to pursue. Like the mythological phoenix rising from its ashes to soar ever higher, we could take our disappointments or distress and turn them into wondrous prospects and possibilities, once thought to be impossibilities. Late in the day, early Friday, Mercury exits Aquarius to enter Pisces. From cold deliberations and visionary foresight, our thoughts and mind can get mushy and highly emotional. This day may show us how our moods can change drastically from feeling disheartened and victimized to wildly buoyant and self-confident. We just have to discipline ourselves and keep a rein on our emotional mind.
Friday, March 13th – Forget the Fear – Mars, Sun, Venus. Some of the second wind we might have gotten late yesterday can carry through on this Friday. The Sagittarius Moon trines both Mars and Venus, and the Moon squares the Sun. If we don’t spend time thinking about liable pitfalls or things that could go wrong, we could use this day to move forward in new directions. We just have to have faith in the goodness of the universe and believe that everything works out in the end. Let’s keep in mind that our attitude is a major determiner of what befalls us. If we buy into anxiety and fear, we are like a magnet drawing negative situations to us. Years ago when I was involved with a spiritual group in New York City, one of the children in the community became quite ill and I went rushing out of the building on Central Park West, crossed the street to go into the park and inform the parents. I was anxious, fearful and as I reached the other side of Central Park West, a dog lunged at me, what I considered to be the reaction to my fear. Despite the vagaries of these times and the crazy-making antics of so many people and the powers-that-be, it is essential that we engage the old British affirmation: ‘Keep Calm and Carry On.’ This can be an uplifting, exciting day if we don’t hold ourselves back.
Saturday, March 14th – Putting on the Brakes – Mercury, Neptune, Saturn retrograde. Saturday has the Moon in Capricorn with the Moon sextile both Mercury and Neptune in Pisces. Drawing upon our intuitive sense and our gut hunches, we can blueprint how best to achieve our goals. We may feel divinely guided, or guided by our inner voice, to get various matters accomplished. We do need to keep in mind that Saturn is turning retrograde for the next four and a half months. With the influence of a Saturn retrograde cycle, we may find that things are taking longer than we like, that we are having to go back over situations to recalibrate or rework, and that delays and frustrations can be part of the mix. We may feel that life is putting on the brakes to some of our decisions and actions, but it would be better to consider it as honing and tempering rather than impenetrable obstacles.
Sunday, March 15th – The Ides of March – Uranus, Pluto, Mars, Sun. We may not suffer the same fate as Julius Caesar on this Sunday of the Ides of March, but we might have various curveballs to handle today. The Capricorn Moon triggers the Uranus Pluto square with the Moon conjunct Pluto and the Moon square both Uranus and Mars in Aries. The Moon sextiles the Sun. Whatever might have happened mid-week, or given indications at that time, this Sunday can have us dealing with some major, major situations, both on a personal level and in the world-at-large. Let’s keep in mind that tomorrow is the last time that the Uranus Pluto square will be exact. Today could lead up to quite a crescendo of energy, as old matters rise up to fall away. This is a time for us to reflect back on what has gone on since the Summer of 2012 when we first encountered the Uranus Pluto square. There have been dramatic and significant changes, whether those changes were subtle in nature or catastrophic, since that time. Our world has changed. Either we have chosen or the universe has chosen for us to rid ourselves of the extraneous, outmoded and irrelevant in our lives. This is a day for us to reflect on where we have been, where we have come and where we intend to go. We may find ourselves doing a final winter clean up and clear out as we ready ourselves for the renaissance that comes with Spring.
