February 2nd – 8th, 2015

This week can have us searching for entertainment and diversions. With the ‘big game’ behind us, we might feel deflated with a sense that the final game in the autumnal ritual of football reinforces the depths of winter.

No matter how much we enjoy winter sports and the initial festivities of winter, some of us are likely to feel enough already. We may hope that the groundhog does not see its shadow thereby forecasting spring coming earlier. A sunny day and the groundhog will see its shadow and scurry back into its burrow for an elongated winter. Or so the tail goes.

Whether we get away or not during this week, we are certainly envisioning times away from our daily routine and lounging in warm climates.

The week begins with us focused more on our future intentions, our plans and possibilities rather than our responsibilities. If we could streamline our operations, we would certainly do so.

The Full Moon on Tuesday can be bright with righteous indignation. Social outrage and social action can capture the headlines and our interests. Je suis _____ [fill in the blank].

Even if our life does not give evidence of it, we have shifted, we have changed and we are not looking to go back to the way we were and the way things were.

The first half of the week can have us exploring and expressing our creative instincts, no matter what format that creative aspect might entail.

We are looking to the far horizon and willing to develop the best strategy to get us from where we are across to our promised land.

The latter part of the week can have us dealing with our tasks at hand, looking to bring completion to outstanding matters in order to have some clear space in which to develop new pursuits.

The weekend can be a pleasant time of social interactions and quality moments with that special someone in our lives. We may choose to step away from the craziness of the world, seek out our own sanctuary and enjoy the serenity of sharing deep thoughts and deep feelings with a close intimate friend. The weekend ends with the stirrings and rumblings of the world outside our door, giving indications that our plans might be interrupted by unexpected events or pressing unanticipated demands.

Monday, February 2nd – Hung Over or Hanging Out – Moon Void-of-Course, Saturn, Sun, Uranus. Monday in the US is the day after. Yesterday was Super Bowl Sunday with all the hype, glitz and crescendo of the professional football season. Worldwide, it may not have matched the World Cup, but in the US the Super Bowl surpasses the World Cup, Wimbledon, the World Series and any other sporting amusement. And this Monday can be spent with the proverbial Monday morning quarterbacks sizing up the game, pontificating how if they were coaching what they would do and offering their two cents on right plays and wrong plays. Even those who have absolutely no interest in the game are likely to discuss at length the halftime show and the million dollar commercials shown during the presentation. In other words, a lot of productive work just might not get done on this Monday. The day begins with the Moon already Void-of-Course making no connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer and before entering Leo where late today the Moon trines Saturn. The Sun sextiles Uranus today. No matter our responsibilities, we are likely to be accentuating our freedom of spirit, doing what we want in our own good time. Late in the day, we can start to attend to matters demanding our attention. But generally speaking this day is a wash and may as well be considered a ‘mental health’ day without a great deal of expectation of accomplishing much.

Tuesday, February 3rd – Je Suis Moi – Mercury, Uranus, Leo Full Moon, Sun. Tuesday has the Leo Full Moon with the Moon trine Uranus and the Moon opposed both Mercury and the Sun. Everyone may wish to be on center stage today. Whether there’s an audience or not, this is a day for us to express our creative talents. Each of us may want to do our own thing, and finding people on the same page could prove difficult. We might not be interested in compromise, more willing to accentuate our individuality with a large dose of quirkiness thrown in. Okay, let’s call it character but today the world can be full of characters. In the full light of day and Full Moon night, we may be confident, enthusiastic and willing to take on ever more with a belief that nothing can go wrong, everything going our way. Certainly optimism carries us along, but we do have to be wary of taking on too much, glossing over the details and allowing over confidence to set us up for a nasty fall later on. We might consider our resources to be infinite, whether our resources are time, money, talents and capabilities. Unfortunately, we may be so headstrong today that we refuse to hear anything from anyone except our ‘yes’ people who will advocate for even our most harebrained schemes. We might even be willing to accept a quixotic journey with or without a Sancho Panza by our side. This Tuesday is a day when we have to be ourselves and may cry out loudly to the world: ‘I have to be me.’

Wednesday, February 4th – Peel Me a Grape – Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course. Over the past few days, we might have been riding a wave of exhilaration and good cheer. The Leo Moon has been aggravating our self-importance and self-adulation to the point of narcissism. We may have been having a fun time of expanding our interests and broadening our involvements, all with the belief that we are being divinely guided. To some extent, we could even have been traipsing about in a fool’s paradise. This feel good attitude continues on this Wednesday as the Leo Moon conjuncts Jupiter before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for twenty-four hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before entering Virgo tomorrow. Although Wednesday is often considered ‘hump’ day coming as it does in the middle of the work week, today’s hump might seem more like a crescendo, heightening our confidence and impelling us to focus on our greatest pleasures, those activities that we truly enjoy and situations that allow us both a high level of autonomy and speak to our creative talents. This upbeat attitude can allow us to luxuriate in a feeling of good-naturedness and confidence. Our presentations can be bright and scintillating, and our expressions can be upbeat and enticing. Let’s not allow our sense of optimism to go wasted, for we could win various people to our side and gain support for our deep felt projects. Either we can be looking for someone to peel us a grape or we can engage other people to offer us a whole bunch.

Thursday, February 5th – Let’s Get Serious – Lunar T-Square, Saturn, Neptune, Mercury. After the first half of this week having been all about us, our enjoyments, our creative expressions and optimism to the max; Thursday shifts the energy dramatically. We might have been on cloud nine over the past few days, but this day gives us a strong dose of reality. We could realize that we have much to do in our catch up with our usual responsibilities and our routine obligations. The Moon enters Virgo and triggers a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon square Saturn and the Moon opposed Neptune. Mercury sextiles Saturn. Feeling under the gun with a huge amount of catch up to do, we could easily be all over the place on this Thursday. The key to this day is to plan and strategize before we enmesh ourselves in all that we need to get done. Planning can reduce our time spinning our wheels. We do not have to go from soup to nuts with a focus on a singular item. We can juggle various things, work with the nervous energy of this day, and concentrate on process more so than on completion. By dealing with various projects, we can go from one thing to another, work with time in a subject, qualitative manner and accomplish more than if we try to focus on one particular situation. Let’s figure out what our productive time cycle today is and work with time to our benefit rather than feeling overwhelmed by all that needs to get done. We don’t have to do it all today, but we can spend time on various outstanding matters and move them along without feeling the compunction of completion today.

Friday, February 6th – All Over the Place – Venus, Pluto, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Jupiter. Friday continues with us dealing with any number of issues and matters needing to be resolved. If we used yesterday wisely, whereby we addressed various issues even if we did not bring them to conclusion, this Friday allows us to continue with the process, even to the point of bringing some unresolved matters to conclusion. Today, the Virgo Moon opposes both Venus and Mars, and the Moon trines Pluto. The Sun opposes Jupiter. Friday is a day for us to prioritize and focus on the most important issues to conclude. We can be all over the place today, dealing with this, addressing that, but we may feel pressured to get certain things done and wrapped up before the weekend. We might assume that we can do it all and have a number of items on our ‘to do’ list, but it would be wiser for us to concentrate on the most pressing needs today. Later in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for twenty and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before entering Libra tomorrow. This Friday is a day to wrap up as much as possible without skimming over the specifics. We may want to put things aside as we move into the evening hours, a time when we might want to catch our breath after a two-day marathon sprint and just enjoy the company of that special someone, whether other people or just our self.

Saturday, February 7th – Good Friends – Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Saturn. Saturday could be slow-starting. We might have burnt ourselves out over the past two days as we hurried to get as much done as possible. And we could be paying the price on this early Saturday. We may not want to be hurried or hassled as we start the day. On the contrary, a little indulgence might be called for, whether it be an additional croissant or a second cappuccino or whatever soothes our palate. As Saturday progresses, we might choose to spend time getting together with a friend and enjoying the repartee of good company. Even if we have errands to run, we are likely to do so earlier in the day, rather than later in the day. This day begins with the Moon Void-of-Course with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before entering Libra where today the Libra Moon trines Mercury and the Moon sextiles Saturn. Although slow-starting and with attention paid to errands earlier in the day, the latter part of this Saturday could find us quite chatty with a special someone or a group of close intimate friends. Someone could prove an important sounding board, allowing us to bounce some of our plans and intended projects off them. We can hone our prospects and focus on those activities that would provide us the greatest joy and self-fulfillment. We do have to avoid being over confident, a bit of contagion operating during this week and over these recent times.

Sunday, February 8th – The Essence of Being – Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Pluto, Venus. Sunday gives us the energy to have a deep, reflective discussion with someone special in our lives. We are not looking for superficial encounters today but rather heat-felt connections. We might discover a true advocate of our being, our essence, our soul. This is a day when we strip away the veneer and get to the heart of our relationships. Saturday and Sunday allow us time to catch our breath, engage in a Mutual Admiration Society with someone, and more fully appreciate who we are and be grateful for the significant person / people in our lives. Venus sextiles Pluto today. The Libra Moon is all pleasantries until the latter part of the day when the Moon triggers the Uranus Pluto square with the Moon creating a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Uranus and the Moon square Pluto. After a relatively relaxing and pleasurable weekend, the weekend closes with our sense of the world banging at our door. We may recall all the things that we have to address in the forthcoming week and might be made aware of some of the curveballs heading our way or impacting the world at large.
