January 26th – February 1st, 2015

This week provides moments of our being ‘in the zone’, our daily routine interjected by interludes of being in the right place at the right time, marvelous insights and being more effective with less expenditure of energy.

We could say ‘What a wonderful world!’ and there is a great deal of truth to that sentiment. But often we have to dig through the muck and the mire to find the nugget of gold concealed within our daily experiences.

This is the first full week of the Mercury retrograde. How’s that working for you? Already, I have heard about the usual Mercury retrograde screw-ups — traffic accidents, travel difficulties, miscommunications and those mysterious phone calls where people leave their name but forget to leave their call back number. Oh, well, we have all gone through many Mercury retrogrades with their myriad of taxing experiences. By now, we should have gotten our Mercury retrograde sea legs. Let’s just keep in mind the importance of checking and rechecking, confirming and reconfirming, and making sure that everyone is on the same page before moving ahead.

The beginning of the week can have us out and about early in the day with scheduled plans in hand. While we start the week with a thrust of energy, we might slow down as we move forward. Our initial burst of full speed ahead could taper off to a steady but slow movement of putting one foot in front of the other.

As the week progresses, Venus exits Aquarius to enter Pisces. Our compassion and our spiritual side becomes more enhanced and more readily expressed. Our feelings are heightened and our interactions with other people far more emotional. We might wonder what life and living are all about and seek to put our spirit into action.

The mid-part of the week can provide us with some interesting surprises — ah-has of remarkable insights and some strange but intriguing encounters. Once again, we could be made aware of the paradigm shift with the new paradigm replete with mini-miracles and examples of magical interweaving.

We have to be wary that the latter part of the week doesn’t have us engaging people with problems, but problems they are unwilling to let go of and more likely would prefer us to fix for them. There can be no fixing and no resolution when people are attached to their issues and afraid to let them go. The test of our compassion and our willingness to go out of our way might be tested. It would be wise to keep in mind the biblical admonition: ‘cast ye not pearls before swine.’

I always suggest that in considering whom we can help and how we can help that we always ask ourselves to ‘check the source. And check their agenda.’

This is not a time, nor ever healthy, for us to be enablers to other people’s challenges or distress. Another wise saying states that ‘you can help someone lift their burden, but you cannot carry it for them.’

If we consciously choose where to place our energy, we could virtually move mountains, getting more done in a shorter period of time than usual and with less expenditure of energy.

The weekend is a time when we may be looking to gather with family and close friends around the home fires burning, or around the huge flat screen television sets as the US revels in the Super Bowl game and antics. Although it is an occasion to party and sometimes proves a prelude to winter depression, we have to avoid partying too much, indulging too much and getting caught up in the mass adrenaline rush. Welcome to February.

Monday, January 26th – New Directions, Step by Step – Venus, Neptune, Sun. Monday may have us fast out of bed as we consider how best to make our plans a reality. We are likely to be feeling good about our prospects and encouraged by someone who thinks that we are close to perfection. It’s great to have an admirer who supports and advocates for us and for our intentions. While we might have a rush to get going on this Monday morning, things can slow down as we take the time to strategize and contemplate a best practices approach. Our intuitive sense can be strong as we figure how to get from here to there in a step-by-step process. We do have to be wary that we don’t look at what we have presently and wonder whether we have the resources to pull off our grandest goals. Let’s keep in mind the wise old saying that ‘where there’s a will, there’s a way’.

Tuesday, January 27th – A Little Humility, Please – Mars, Pluto, Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus Pisces. Tuesday allows us to be productive and effective, virtually move mountains, so long as we do not overdo or overexpand. Tuesday has the Taurus Moon sextile Mars, the Moon trine Pluto and the Moon triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon square Mercury in Aquarius and the Moon square Jupiter in Leo. Late in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over twenty hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Taurus and before entering Gemini late on Wednesday. On this Tuesday Venus exits Aquarius to enter Pisces. If we will utilize our due diligence, draw both upon our sense of things and a focused intent, we can accomplish a great deal. In order to do so, we cannot fall into a belief of omnipotence whereby whatever we want we can do with little blockage, frustrations or delays. If we get up on our high horse and assume that everything is going our way, we could head for a nasty spill. This is a day when it would be important to prioritize our actions, concentrate on the most meaningful and not get swayed by distractions with the assumption that we can do it all. We are also moving into a time when our sensitivity is likely to be heightened and we may have great compassion for our fellow beings. We just have to be discerning to whom and how we assist. We do not want to get involved with people’s problems when they are unwilling to resolve them or let them go. A liability to arrogance might have us ensnared in no-win situations, but only if we get too high and mighty as to how we can solve all the problems in the world. Besides, problems are the universe’s way of our developing our strength of character and evolvement.

Wednesday, January 28 – Fascinating Insights – Moon Void-of-Course, Lunar T-Square, Venus, Saturn, Mercury, Uranus. The Void-of-Course Moon that began yesterday continues through much of this Wednesday. The Moon is making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Taurus and before entering Gemini later today where the Moon today triggers a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon square Venus and the Moon opposed Saturn. Although much of the day is relatively quiet energy-wise, Mercury sextiles Uranus. Often when we are not distracted by our daily lives or the bombardment of stimuli that each of us deals with, we have the opportunity of stepping beyond our present dimension into a time of remarkable ah-has and fascinating insights. Such a situation could occur for us today. The mini-miracles and magic of this new paradigm may be evident as unexpected situations arise that give us a new spin on what is going on. We may find ourselves being in the right place at the right time for some interesting news or encounters. Let’s keep our ears and eyes wide open, work with peripheral vision and be open to the opportunities that this day might present. Later in the day, we could be all over the place, rushing from one thing to another, playing catch-up with things we might have postponed and trying to take advantage of new developments. If we don’t slow things down, our rushing around could lead us into trying to do too many things at once and engaging in activities that would only lead to dead ends or our banging our head against the walls. Magical interludes are wonder-full, but let’s not get seduced into believing that once we step into a magical realm that we are there indefinitely. Often, they are brief interludes to introduce us to possibilities that we have not considered or been made aware of.

Thursday, January 29th – Talking it Through – Neptune, Sun, Mercury, Uranus, Mars. Whatever ah-ha we might have gotten yesterday or Tuesday, no matter how slight, we could act upon on this Thursday. Today, we could be all over the place especially in regard to our ideas and our discussions. The Gemni Moon squares Neptune, the Moon trines Sun, the Moon trines Mercury, the Moon sextiles Uranus and the Moon squares Mars. There is a lot going on today and much of it can be in our heads, our thoughts and in our considering our prospects for the future. Brainstorming can be a productive way of monitoring and filtering some of the things that we are considering and using other people as a sounding board can provide us with input and honing that might otherwise escape us. Some of our ideas might seem hare-brained upon later reflection but the more we have on the table, the more we can sort through and determine what really appeals to us. We do have to watch that we aren’t carried away by ideas that appeal to our emotions without our reasoning out their practicality. Let’s consider our options and our alternatives, all with the realization that we don’t have to figure all the details of how to accomplish our plans. Once we take the first step, the ways of achieving our goals may become more apparent.

Friday, January 30th – Tying Up Loose Ends – Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Saturn, Mars, Pluto, Sun, Mercury. Friday begins with the Gemini Moon sextile Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost twenty-three hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini and before entering Cancer tomorrow. Although the Moon is Void-of-Course, often indicating a lack of energy where things can stall out, there is certainly quite a bit of energy from other planetary configurations today. Venus squares Saturn, Mars sextiles Pluto and the Sun conjuncts Mercury. This can be a day when we attend to outstanding matters, deal with past issues we once thought resolved, and tidy things up in order for us to enjoy the weekend — in the US, Super Bowl Weekend. We may find that someone is just a little too demanding on our time or our assistance. Someone could be playing on their IOU, expecting us to drop everything and attend to their needs. We have to avoid getting entangled in someone else’s problems or being overly sensitive to their concerns. If we would prioritize and focus on the most meaningful tasks at hand, we could accomplish a great deal, even to the point of moving mountains. Once we deal with what needs to get done, we can have time to chat people up and consider some of our plans for the forthcoming weekend and beyond.

Saturday, January 31st – The Comforts of Home – Venus, Neptune. Saturday has the Cancer Moon trine Venus and trine Neptune, both transiting Pisces. This can be a day when we just want to luxuriate, enjoy the comforts of home and indulge our appetites. We are not interested in exerting too much energy today, for perhaps we are saving it up for tomorrow’s extravaganza. This day is a great day to turn off our minds, contemplate and thank the higher forces for all the blessings in our lives. An attitude of gratitude goes a long way in both our happiness and opening the door to ever greater wonders. There are times when we need to step off the fast track of our daily lives to appreciate all that we have. Today is a day for us to do just that.

Sunday, February 1st – Stupendous, Super and All the Rest of It – Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Pluto, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Neptune. Well, here it is. In the US, this day is the much anticipated Super Bowl, the day when the football season comes to a climax. Sunday has the Cancer Moon triggering the Uranus Pluto square with the Cancer Moon creating a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Uranus and the Moon opposes Pluto. The Moon then trines Mars before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over twenty-eight hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer and before entering Leo tomorrow. Venus conjuncts Neptune. This Sunday can have various twists and turns, unexpected situations arising and some delays involved in getting going. We may have to deal with situations that we had not anticipated, but we can effectively smooth over any issues that might come up. Relationships can be intoxicating today. Whether we gather with a group or a special someone, our interactions with other people can be pleasant and good fun. This is a day for us to enjoy ourselves, step out of our normal persona and be in the moment of whatever we are doing.
