This week escorts out the old year of 2014 and ushers in the new year of 2015. In the coming and going, we are likely to be raising our glasses high in celebration and stomping the week with a bang or two.
Irrational exuberance may be the name of the game as we come out of 2014 and into 2015. With Jupiter triggered throughout the week, we may be rallying around the centuries old call of carpe diem [‘seize the day’] or a rallying cry for 2015 of carpe annum [‘seize the year’].
The week begins with us feeling like a law unto ourselves. No matter what the signs and indications might otherwise be, we are looking at moving forward full steam ahead. Whatever we want, we intend to get, no matter who or what might stand in our way.
With a sense of confidence and optimism, we could use this week purchasing our much-needed items, or so we can justify our wants and desires.
We are also preparing for the New Year’s celebrations. And, damn it, this year we are resolved to have the best year of our lives. In prelude to the best of our times, we might choose to go all out and spare no expense.
Our New Year’s Eve celebrations may leave us hanging in bed a little later on the 1st of January. Although we may be slow starting, once we make it up we are out fast and furious. Whether we are taking a long holiday weekend or not, we might find ourselves chatting up any number of people. We may be playing catch up with people we have yet to connect with over the holidays or joining in various social gatherings.
We are confident and optimistic about the year we have entered but just not too anxious to get down to the work and effort that our new year resolutions could demand. We are interested in new friends and new interests. It’s the new year, and we are more interested in the new rather than the old.
The weekend can bring some closures to life as we have known it. A significant figure could leave the world stage. And we might be clearing the decks and ready to get back on the fast track as we come to the close of the weekend.
While we could be slightly anxious about stepping across the transom and stepping into our future, either we choose to take the necessary steps or the universe is likely to rid us of those things that are more from our past than for our future and is also likely to impel us to move forward no matter our doubts or second guesses.
Monday, December 29th – Resistance to Our Intentions – Pluto, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus. Monday starts the week with the Moon still transiting Aries. On the one hand, we want to push forward with some of our projects, develop our new interests and expand our involvements. The Moon sextiles Mars and the Moon trines Jupiter. On the other hand, we may find ourselves banging up against our responsibilities, our routine and other people’s expectations for us. The Aries Moon squares the Capricorn-transiting planets of Pluto, Mercury and Venus. This is a day when we may have to go it alone and in the process confront various naysayers and the ways of the world. We have to be wary that we don’t find our enthusiasm taking us to the edge with a willingness to leap with unbounded optimism yet without seriously looking and considering the conditions and circumstances with which we are dealing. Maintaining balance between our desires and our real needs, all the while engaging due diligence, can afford us a more tempered approach to our intentions and may prevent us from jumping into situations blindly that would be hard to disengage. Impulsive actions could lead to a nasty crash and burn.
Tuesday, December 30th – Trusting Our Instincts – Neptune, Sun. Tuesday has the Moon in Taurus and today the Moon sextiles Neptune and the Moon trines the Sun. We may be far more rational, less impetuous, than we might have been yesterday. We are less likely to jump the gun, more likely to consider our moves before taking action. This is a day when we can draw upon our intuitive sense, our feeling nature of what the right moves for us would be. We may have greater foresight today, willing to see the big picture and consider the long-term consequences of our actions. If we haven’t landed in a hole from yesterday’s impulsive moves, then today we can focus our eagerness to get on with things and do so in a systematic, step-by-step approach. This is a day when we can prepare the foundation stones of our future and plan the best practices approach by which to realize our goals. A productive day, this would be a good time for us to tie up loose ends of the passing year that we do not want to bring into the new year of 2015.
Wednesday, December 31st – Auld Lang Syne – Pluto, Lunar T-Square, Mars, Jupiter. Well, here we are at the last day of 2014. Despite the euphoria of equity markets, many of us may be happy to ring out the old year of 2014 and ring in the new year. And to celebrate ‘out with the old and in with the new’, we are likely to go all out. Wednesday continues with the Taurus Moon with the Moon today trine Pluto and the Moon triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon square Mars and the Moon square Jupiter. If we dealt with outstanding issues yesterday to bring them to completion or worked towards their completion, we could continue in a similar vein early on this Wednesday. We can conclude certain matters that need to be resolved before the new year and this could also take the form of financial affairs and putting our house in order for 2014 and making financial preparations for 2015. As the day progresses, we are likely to be getting into celebration gear. The liability towards having too good a time cannot be discounted, and we have to be wary that people aren’t using the New Year celebrations to one up each other. Excess and extravagance could be strong with these New Year celebrations. It may not be the roaring 20’s, although similarities abound, but we are all ready to celebrate that ‘happy days are here again.’
Thursday, January 1st – All Together Now – Mercury, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Lunar T-Square, Saturn, Neptune, Mars, Jupiter. The early morning hours can have us celebrating in grand style this new year of 2015. The Taurus Moon trines both Mercury and Venus in Capricorn. We are looking good, feeling good and enjoying our connections with those people who might be of benefit to our ambitions in future days. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost five hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Taurus and before entering Gemini where today the Moon triggers a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Saturn and the Moon square Neptune. Mars opposes Jupiter. Although we may stay up late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning, once we go to sleep we might find that we sleep in on Thursday. But once awake, we could be everywhere and anywhere. The energy ratchets up significantly and we may be trying to cover many bases. Unfortunately, we could have a tendency to spread ourselves too thin, touching base here, there and everywhere but without any real connection to whatever we are engaging. Our mood swings could prove extreme as we see things with all the facets of the good, the bad and the ugly. We are ready to conquer the world and willing to turn a blind eye to the many problems that presently confront humankind. Problems, made worse by egotism, narcissism and entitlement, can be covered over but may not go away. In our unbridled optimism, we could be somewhat anxious waiting for the other shoe to drop. Due diligence and forethought will go a long way towards being aware and mindful of the conditions and circumstances in which we find ourselves.
Friday, January 2nd – The Beauty of Alternatives – Uranus. One of the beauties of these times of the paradigm shift from linear, sequential reality into the magical, asequential format is that we do not have to do it all. The universe is working in our favor and pushing and pulling us towards a new future, a brand new day. Technological advances are making our work easier and streamlining our operations. The technology unfolding is providing each one of us the tools by which we can express our creative selves. This Friday has the Gemini Moon sextile Uranus in Aries. Today can be a day of exploration, investigating new avenues, and trying out interests that we might not have tried before. This can be an exciting day and a good day to start the new year off on the right foot. Whatever resolutions we have made for ourselves for 2015, the paramount theme may be creating more time for ourselves with us discovering those venues that allow us greater self-fulfillment and self-actualization. We may have been all over the place yesterday, wanting to bound ahead, held back by our fears and concerns. Today, we may not be in quite the same impetuous rush as we might have been yesterday. We want to savor our tasting of different interests and the exploration of new arenas in which to participate.
Saturday, January 3rd – Cleaning Out the Stables – Jupiter, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Uranus, Pluto, Venus Aquarius. The wild thing about us is that once we get impassioned by an idea or a project we often tend to get enthusiastic to the point of becoming obsessive. We then pour ourselves into whatever we are doing, putting blinders on and focusing solely on making things happen… all without considering the ‘weather’ conditions or the circumstances surrounding us. Thanks to life’s journey, we all should be cottoning on to the fact that life is like waves — times of riding the waves, times of being in the trough, times of avoiding body slams from the crash of the waves, times of staying out of the water. And we have the ebb and flow where things can move quickly at one point in time and may seem almost totally stagnant at another point in time. The year started on Thursday with a rush of energy, followed by a more effective although slower sequence yesterday. We may be feeling energized as we start this Saturday thanks to the Gemini Moon sextile Jupiter and the Moon trine Mars. We might have the sense that we can launch into new projects with full throttle and full speed ahead. While our intentions may be somewhat grandiose, it would be wise that we check the ‘weather’. For after this flush of energy in the early morning hours, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over thirteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini and before entering Cancer late in the day. We might also find that we have various matters to deal with prior to our moving forward with our new projects. The Sun today triggers the Uranus Pluto square with the Sun conjunct Pluto and the Sun square Uranus. Venus exits Capricorn to enter Aquarius. Before we can move into new directions, we may discover that we have old issues and responsibilities to deal with. We might want to engage a new sense of ourselves, participate in interesting new ventures, but before we do so, we might have to clean out the stables of our past. This day and this weekend could be productively used to get rid of old matters and eliminate old items that are more associated with our past than where we are today. We may want to get on with the new year, but let’s keep in mind that we might need to create space for the new to develop. Even if we feel attached to our old ‘stuff’ and fear the void that getting rid of it might entail, it would be wise to keep in mind that the universe abhors a vacuum. As we make space and room for the new, the universe will step in to fill that space.
Sunday, January 4th – Wrapping It Up – Neptune, Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Pluto, Cancer Full Moon, Sun, Venus, Saturn, Mercury Aquarius. The caroming we might have felt yesterday can continue on this Sunday. For many people, the long holidays are about to end with many people getting back to work or back to school tomorrow. Sunday has the Cancer Moon trine Neptune and the Cancer Full Moon with the Moon triggering the Uranus Pluto square as the Moon squares Uranus and the Moon opposes both Pluto and the Sun. Venus sextiles Saturn, and Mercury exits Capricorn to enter Aquarius. We are leaving much of the past behind, but much of the past may prove unwilling to go gently into that good night. There can be a good deal of banging and crashing that can go on this weekend, on Saturday and Sunday. We may be taking down the holiday decorations, ready to get back on track. But even if we get back on track over the next few days, we are likely to be committed to finding a way out of the humdrum of our mundane reality. All of us have gone through changes over these recent times, and we are no longer satisfied with same old, same old. We are looking for adventure, even if that means rocking the boat. Saturday and Sunday are good days to do an inventory taking and clear out the debris of our past. We may not be clear about where we wish to head and we might be subject to unexpected situations developing. We just know that we are on the threshold of a brand new day, a brand new year and a brand new sense of self. Our interests are to the future and not the remembrances of our past, and we might choose a trusted sounding board to bounce off ideas of new activities we might wish to engage.
