This week can have us seeking serenity, sanctuary and sanity. It may seem a tall order with all the screaming meanies making the headlines.
The week begins in a rather placid tone, although our energy may be rather flaccid. We are not looking to set the world on fire, would far prefer the comfort of home and the nurture of those people who would advocate for us.
Past issues and unexpected events might knock us for a loop. We need to keep in mind that there are times when we need to step back in order to move forward. While old issues may prove daunting, once we deal with the twists and turns of unanticipated variables, we can focus on what we need to do, what we need to be rid of and what we want to do. The clarity of our intent may be a little muddled and consequently we could spend some time juggling the old and the new and not being totally clear about which is which.
The latter part of the week allows us to clean the slate. We may find ourselves doing a physical or mental elimination of projects, people and involvements that no longer work for us.
In clearing away the debris of our past, we can concentrate on the most meaningful aspects of our lives and prepare for the holidays. For next week is Thanksgiving week in the US. Already the exploitive-hype of holiday shopping has preceded Thanksgiving in an attempt to ratchet up the US consumer’s debt load. Let’s keep in mind that in the US the economy is consumer-driven with 70% of the US GDP being consumer spending.
The weekend shifts the energy dramatically. The Sun exits Scorpio to enter Sagittarius. There is a Sagittarius New Moon and the Sagittarius influence triggers a Fire Grand Trine. We may get something of a major uplift over the weekend, feel that all is right in our world and buy into the catnip of holiday sales to go out and spend, spend, spend. After the financial stress of the past few years, who would have thought that the old habit patterns of excess and indulgence would re-emerge?
Monday, November 17th – Making Our List, Checking it Twice – Sun, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus. We begin the week with the Virgo Moon sextile the Sun and Saturn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over eight hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before entering Libra, where today the Libra Moon sextiles Venus. We start off the day and the week with a clear intent as to what we need to get done. We may want to bring outstanding matters to closure, focus on the details of our various projects and see how we can be more effective with less expenditure of energy. We could do an inventory taking of our various activities and decide that we need to pare down and cull certain items from our lives. We are moving towards the holidays and recognize that much of our attention will be diverted to the necessities of the holidays with time taken away from our normal projects in order to engage the flurry of holiday events. This Monday is a good day to tie up loose ends and consider what are the most important actions we need to take. While we might start the day off with intensity and focus, as the day progresses our energy shifts. As if lifting our eyes from the singular focus of what we personally want to do, we become more interested in what is going on with someone else, with other people. The latter part of the day could have us making contact with friends and loved ones, even planning on holiday get-togethers with those people we don’t often see on a regular basis but rather use the holidays to renew contact.
Tuesday, November 18th – Whacks on the Side of the Head – Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Uranus, Sun, Saturn. Tuesday has the Libra Moon triggering the Uranus Pluto square as the Moon creates the Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Libra Moon square Pluto and the Moon opposed Uranus. The Sun conjuncts Saturn. While our interests lie more in the comfort and sustenance of friends and loved ones and while we would prefer to engage serenity and pleasures, this Tuesday could throw us some curveballs whereby we are knocked off center and have to deal with blockages and unexpected situations arising. These times of paradigm shift speak to things changing in a most unexpected manner and often in a nanosecond of time, the asequential reality of these times. Even if we have started the week with everything in order and with a sense of being on top of things and dealing with things in a successive manner, we might find that today throws us for a loop as incidents arise that we did not, might not could have, expected or planned for. Whatever curveballs are thrown at us today, let’s be certain not to take them as whacks to the side of our head. We might find ourselves facing old and past matters that we thought we had resolved, somewhat akin to the arcade game of whack-a-mole whereby we knock the mole back into the ground only for it to arise somewhere else on the board. This day could prove exhausting and demanding our attention to any number of situations. Let’s not feel defeated by extraneous matters that could arise. Instead, let’s play the cards that are dealt us in a focused and reasonable manner.
Wednesday, November 19th – The Appreciation of One – Mars, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course. Wednesday is ‘hump’ day coming as it does in the middle of the work week, but this Wednesday seems less of a hump and more of a slight bump in the road. The day begins with the Libra Moon square Mars, and the Moon sextile Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for fifteen hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before entering Scorpio late tonight, early Thursday. We might feel obligated to take on someone else’s responsibilities today. We could play the ‘good guy’ and win heaps of appreciation for what we have done. Let’s be careful not to be swayed by ingratiating comments that please but also aim to entangle us in someone’s messes. There is not a great deal of energy on this Wednesday. We could be easily distracted, our attention diverted as a result of someone who wants, needs and asks us to do something for them. If we don’t have a great deal on our plate schedule-wise, then let’s see what we can do for the other person. If we do have a great amount planned for our day, we might just not get to it and could find ourselves frittering the day away. Any way we slice it, this is not a day when we might accomplish a great deal and certainly not of our personal interests. But we all need to be needed at some point, and today could be one of those days.
Thursday, November 20th – Dancing with the Trickster – Neptune, Pluto, Venus. Thursday has the Scorpio Moon trine Neptune, and the Moon sextile Pluto. Venus squares Neptune. A case of infatuation could keep us from seeing things clearly. We might be willing to give someone the benefit of the doubt. I always suggest: ‘check the source and check their agenda.’ We could be played by someone who ingratiates themselves with compliments and platitudes but someone who is looking at what they can get from their connection with us. If we pull back the wizard of oz screen to see the little guy pulling the strings, then at least we shall go into situations without rose-colored glasses but with a greater understanding of what is really going on. We can tie up loose ends, bring closure to outstanding matters and clear the decks of some of our old issues, so long as we are not distracted or diverted by someone’s pleadings. We could accomplish a great deal today, but we do have to be wary of the people with whom we are playing the game. Someone might be far more interested in riding our coattails than contributing to our efforts.
Friday, November 21st – Shot Through the Heart – Mars, Mercury, Jupiter. Friday is the dark side of the Moon, prior to tomorrow’s New Moon. Today the Moon in Scorpio sextiles Mars, the Moon conjuncts Mercury and the Moon squares Jupiter. Mercury sextiles Mars. Our perception is heightened today, and we can present things in a lucid, albeit intense, manner. This is a day when we can cut to the core, focus on those things that truly appeal to us and get rid of the extraneous. No messing around for us in the early part of the day. We are focused and determined, able to do what needs to be done expeditiously. Our thoughts are concise, our communication succinct. Everything we do today we do with determination and in a concentrated manner with absolutely no excess. The later hours of this Friday may have us engaging in fun activities and having a good time. We can take care of what needs to be done early in the day and use the evening hours to kick back and enjoy ourselves.
Saturday, November 22nd – Second Wind – Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Sagittarius New Moon, Sun, Neptune, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Sun Sagittarius. We may have enjoyed ourselves on Friday night and possibly enjoyed ourselves too much. The early morning hours of Saturday could have us nursing a case of having done too much and reaping the aftereffects of excess. The Moon conjuncts Saturn before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over six hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before entering Sagittarius. The Sun moves into Sagittarius and as the Moon enters Sagittarius, there is the Sagittarius New Moon with the Moon conjunct the Sun. The Moon also squares Neptune and the Moon conjuncts Venus today. Mercury squares Jupiter. With the Sun joining Venus in the Mutable Fire Sign we have greater thrust of the Fire Grand Trine with the Sun and Venus in Sagittarius, Jupiter in Leo and Uranus in Aries. We may feel as if we have gained a second wind. We might be feeling more upbeat, inspired and confident that no matter what happens in the world-at-large that we shall be more than okay. With the New Moon putting its imprint on the next two weeks, up to the Full Moon, we can be in an upbeat mood, filled with good cheer and looking to broaden our interests and expand our activities. Our confidence may know no bounds but it would be wise for us to draw upon due diligence before we jump headlong into any new involvements. Things may look good on the outside, far more complicated once we get engaged.
Sunday, November 23rd – Up, Up and Away – Lunar Grand Trine, Uranus, Jupiter. The Fire Grand Trine is reinforced today as the Sagittarius Moon trines Uranus in Aries and the Moon trines Jupiter in Leo. We may be looking at spreading our wings today, participating in new grand adventures and wanting to do something new and unique and unfamiliar to our experience. This is a day of exploration and going beyond the far horizon. Whether we are traveling today or just journeying in our mind, we are more interested in things distant to us than the normal everyday occurrences. We are looking to instill greater thrills and excitement in our lives and optimistic about the outcomes of our initiations. This Sunday is a good time to launch new activities, to streamline our operations and be open to the magic of these times. We could be surprised by some of the wondrous opportunities that arise on this Sunday. We just need to work with peripheral vision, keep our eyes and ears open, and be willing to receive the mini-miracles of this day.
