September 15th – 21st, 2014

Every now and then we get a week when we can catch our breath, a time when we have a brief reprieve from the hurly-burly of the reality of these times. This week could be one of those weeks, at least until we come to the weekend.

Even if we start the week on overdrive, things can slow down to a reasonable pace as we proceed further into the week.

The beginning of the week could have us juggling any number of things. Nothing is too much and virtually everything could capture our fancy. Where a problem might arise is a tendency for us to take in as much as possible, see all the options and alternatives, but with a liability to glossing over details and only seeing the exciting aspects of situations.

Things slow down mid-week, and we might also discover that some of our earlier fascinations no longer hold much glamour or that our present responsibilities are keeping us from engaging new interests. If we take a pragmatic approach, we can tie up various matters but we might also resent being reined in from galloping ahead into new directions by our obligations.

The latter part of the week can have our creative juices flowing. We might seek outlets in sports activities, entertainment venues or planning trips out of town. We may feel energized and ready to step off the track, which we might choose to do so on Friday or Saturday.

While we can enjoy some pleasurable activities Friday and Saturday, Sunday could bring us up short with a flashback into reality. Sunday is the International Day of Peace but no matter the hype around it, the day and these times seem far from peaceful.

Storms systems could be quite intense on Sunday, and there could be nautical misadventures that grab our attention. Sunday is fraught with intense confusion and misdirection and not a great way to end the summer. The presage to autumn could prove explosive with various miscues. Are we ready for more madcap antics of the Keystone Kops by the powers-that-be?

Monday, September 15th – Another Manic Monday – Venus, Jupiter, Uranus, Mercury, Sun. We may start the week on this Monday with a head of steam and thrusting our transmission into full speed ahead. The Gemini Moon today sextiles Jupiter in Leo, the Moon sextiles Uranus in Aries, the Moon trines Mercury in Libra and the Moon squares both the Sun and Venus in Virgo. This can be one highly active, high energy day. We may talk up a storm with whomever we can contact or anyone we run into. We are feeling confident, optimistic, and able to virtually charm the birds from the trees. Our curiosity could have us investigating all sorts of possibilities, but wearing rose-colored glasses can provide us only the sparkling and scintillating and none of the underbelly of various scenarios. This is a kaleidoscope kind of day, a day when we are far more interested in quick hits than due diligence. If we have major decisions or significant commitments to make today, it would be wise for us to get a detached observer, even a devil’s advocate, to look over the issues involved. We could grab at virtually anything whereas an objective sounding board could make us aware of any liabilities we had not taken into account.

Tuesday, September 16th – Reveries in Our Happy Place – Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune. Late Monday into early Tuesday the Moon goes Void-of-Course for close to thirteen and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini and before entering Cancer, where today the Moon trines Neptune. After the carnival-like atmosphere that we might have experienced on Monday, Tuesday can be slow starting with us lost in our reveries. Even if someone popped our balloons by reason of making us see some of the downsides of scenarios we had entertained, we start the day lost in our thoughts and a world of possibilities. We may be more focused on our idyllic, perfect world rather than the world in which we find ourselves. We want a life that we can visualize and imagine for ourselves, and not the scary, threatening world that we see outside our bedroom window. This Tuesday is a day when we can seek refuge in the sanctuary of our mind or our home. If we would keep in mind that intention is the first step towards realization, then our willingness to step away from mundane reality and engage our mental roving can offer us both comfort amidst the stormy weather of these times and also seeding our consciousness with the prospects of our future. Some people may consider our mental roving to be but wild ravings, but these times of paradigm shift are also times when things can change suddenly and dramatically. Despite the appearance of the world being a runaway train, our lives increasingly can be a world of magic and miracles. We just have to believe in the serendipity and synchronicity of the paradigm shift and recognize the crash and burn to be the ridding of the old and outmoded.

Wednesday, September 17th – The World At Our Door – Venus, Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Uranus. Wednesday may allow us the opportunity to add a little flair, a little comfort to our home or to our wardrobe. We are looking to put our best foot forward, even if our audience is only the audience of one, the reflection of ourselves in the mirror. The Cancer Moon today sextiles Venus and the Moon also triggers the Uranus Pluto square with the Cancer Moon opposed Pluto and the Moon square Uranus. This day might seem similar to the childhood story of the wolf and the three pigs, for today the world could seem to be knocking at our door, trying to intrude upon our sanctuary and our serenity. While the world may seem to be spinning out of control, with various crazies in control, we can also become increasingly aware of what impacts us directly and what affects us indirectly. Despite news headlines geared to ramp up our anxieties, it would be wise for us to step back into our own comfort zone and see the events in the world-at-large as only indicative of a radical shift and change going on amongst the players-at-large. We could be impacted indirectly but we do not have to climb on board the runway train. By engaging the two keywords of these times — awareness and mindfulness — we can take the necessary steps and preparations to avoid our becoming collateral damage to the transformation going on in society at large. Crazy-making antics of the world-at-large may be knocking at our door, but we do not have to answer the door and certainly not invite the crazies into our personal world.

Thursday, September 18th – Allegiances and Misunderstandings – Saturn, Mercury, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course. Thursday has the Cancer Moon trine Saturn, the Moon square Mercury and the Moon sextile the Sun. One of the significant indicators of the paradigm shift we are all experiencing is the focus on individual vocal self-expression. These transitional times are a necessary conflict between individual rights and collective rights. On one hand, we have greater consolidation by the powers-that-be, but on the other hand we have increased individual self-determination. We are seeing this push-pull going on in any number of areas. Regional alliances, the United Nations and federal governments are going up against the local interests, individual interests and the empowering demands of those groups feeling disempowered. One such situation is going on today with the secessionist vote in Scotland to become independent from the United Kingdom. But there are many areas where groups feel disenfranchised by a federal or regional government. We see it in Spain with the pro-independence movement in Catalonia. We see it in our own United States where various rural counties are looking to create their own states more attuned to their particular issues, issues largely negated by the particular state’s dominant big city interests. This is a day when in our own personal worlds we set things straight. We can determine what is truly important and what may be but a waste of our time. We might also find that our personal interests are counter to someone else’s interests. If such becomes the case, then it would be important for us to see whether their position holds weight or if we need to check the source and check their agenda. There can be misunderstandings today based upon each person’s individual perspective. What we have to avoid is any sense of victimization at someone else’s hands. We may accommodate someone but we need not capitulate to someone else’s needs or demands. As the day progresses, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost nine hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer and before entering Leo late tonight, early Friday.

Friday, September 19th – Let the Good Times Roll – Mars. Friday has the Leo Moon trine Mars. We may look to start the weekend early, for our interest today is more geared to good times and fun events than dealing with arduous tasks or our normal responsibilities. We might spread our wings and fly away on this Friday and certainly we are looking to broaden our reach, widen our involvements. We are feeling energized and ready to make our personal statement. With enthusiasm and confidence, everyone may be looking to take center stage. Our presentations today can be dramatic, appealing and liable to be overbearing. Our passion and determination may know no bounds. Once we get engaged, there is no telling how much we can do. Whatever we involve ourselves with today, we are likely to do so wholeheartedly. Friday can be a marvelous day, a day when the world seems like a blank canvass upon which we can draw, paint and express our greatest talents. Our creative juices are flowing today and we may find some fascinating outlets for our personal expressions.

Saturday, September 20th – Beyond the Blue Horizon – Jupiter, Uranus, Saturn. Saturday continues with the upbeat, vibrant attitude that we might have had yesterday. The Moon continues its transit through Leo, and today the Moon conjuncts Jupiter, the Moon trines Uranus and the Moon squares Saturn. This Saturday is a day that follows up with yesterday’s enthusiasm and creative self-expressions with increased optimism and a desire to explore the unique and innovative. We are not concerned with same old, same old. Like adventurers, we may take a machete in hand and confidently cut our path through unfamiliar terrain. Some of us may choose a weekend away, getting out of town for sports activities, social get-togethers or romantic jaunts. This is a day when we might choose to push the envelope, stretch beyond our normal parameters and see what there is to see in different surroundings. While this can be a day of investigation and discovery, a day of exciting surprises, we do have to be wary of the expenses involved. We might get so caught up in the fascinations of the moment that we neglect the costs we are ratcheting up. Friday and Saturday can be great fun, but it would be advised that we keep track of our expenses. We may be so caught up in having some good times that we lose count of the expenses involved and might add to our debt load. Friday and Saturday are focused on enjoying ourselves, getting a reprieve from our daily routine and days to recharge our batteries. We do not have to spend a fortune to do so. We can have some exciting experiences just by getting out of our usual routine and doing something different from our normal engagements.

Sunday, September 21st – Best Intentions, Pathway to Miscues – Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Lunar T-Square, Mars, Neptune, Venus, Saturn. There is an old saying that the pathway to hell is paved with good intentions, and this Sunday could prove the accuracy of such a sentiment. The day begins pleasantly enough. Late Saturday, early Sunday the Leo Moon sextiles Mercury before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for close to eleven and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before entering Virgo. Venus sextiles Saturn. We may still be in a festive mood as we begin the day, coming off two days that may have given us fun times and upbeat feelings. Our attitude could have become far more inspired and confident and seeing everything with a sparkle and a shine. Such a disposition might have lulled us into a false sense of self-confidence and an expectation that all the difficulties in our lives had passed away. And early Sunday can feed that belief, as we hear from or contact good friends and engage in brunch or lunch with people we care about. This is the International Day of Peace, and we might start the day in a most peaceful manner, enjoying the dying embers of the summer season. The evening and early hours of Monday are quite different. After a few days of fun and excitement, our sense of awe and wonder could turn into anxiety and concern. Late on Sunday, early Monday the Moon in Virgo triggers a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon square Mars and the Moon opposed Neptune. Mars also squares Neptune. Ill-considered moves could trigger some nasty situations. Suddenly, the idyllic few days could radically shift into a hellish nightmare. Either we ourselves could be prone to accidents due to miscues and misinterpretations or something could occur in the world-at-large that reinforces our sense of the world-at-large being something of a scary environment with the powers-that-be taking actions that are impetuous rather than well-conceived. Storms systems could be quite intense with severe lightning strikes and flash floods. Nautical activity could prove deadly, as the energy is ratcheted up exponentially. As though something occurs out of the blue and when our guard has been let down, we could feel that we have been living in a fool’s paradise with a sudden jolt back into the reality of these transitional times. It may just be the realization of the official ending of Summer upon us, but the energies late on Sunday and early Monday certainly shift the energy one hundred and eighty degrees.
