Hallelujah! This week ends the three-week Mercury retrograde cycle. What a Mercury retrograde this one has been!
I’ve heard various severe problems that others have encountered and for myself this Mercury retrograde has been a beaut. Our condo building was hit by lightning, knocked out our phone and Internet for several days and blew open the condo building’s electrical box, singeing the electrical cables in the box. And during this Mercury retrograde, I was ill to a degree I have not been ill for in many years and an illness I’m finding hard to shake.
Mercury ends this three-week Mercury retrograde cycle on Tuesday. Can I get a hallelujah?
This week starts with us looking for fun events. We may be watching the World Cup or Wimbledon, but we might be far more interested in pleasurable activities than focusing on our work matters.
With the thrust of Mercury turning direct, we may turn our attention to the details of our lives. If we have postponed certain matters to avoid the convoluted nature of the Mercury retrograde or we went ahead with certain situations only to find that we now have to rework them, the mid-part of this week allows us to pay attention to the particulars and attend to the details.
The latter part of the week and the weekend can have us involved with that significant person or those special people in our lives. In the US, it’s the July 4th weekend with Friday a Federal holiday and this weekend often the highlight of the summer with fireworks and various holiday celebrations rallying around the US Independence Day.
This week allows us to straighten up those matters that might have gone awry over the past three weeks. With the long holiday weekend this week, we may find that we need to get done most of our activities during the mid-week period after Mercury has turned direct on Tuesday.
Monday, June 30th – Hopscotch – Uranus, Saturn, Mars. Monday is the last full day of the Mercury retrograde. Tomorrow, Mercury turns direct. Whenever Mercury is stationary and about to turn directions, things can get a little convoluted. It seems as though the worst of a Mercury retrograde can occur at such times, and today is one of those days. The Leo Moon today trines Uranus, the Moon squares Saturn and the Moon sextiles Mars. We may be champing at the bit to show ourselves off in a new light. We could easily make a spectacle of ourselves, as we emphasize our individuality and uniqueness today. We might choose some fun activities, look to get off the track, and engage summertime enjoyments. In the US, this week is part of the long July 4th weekend, and some of us might go so far as to step off the track for the week, take some vacation time or just tune out to whatever needs to be done. With our focus on good times and encouraged by someone to engage pleasurable pursuits, we could easily spend more than would be appropriate. But why worry if we have charge card in hand? We can live for the day with the expenses to be considered at some later time. We might be impetuous today, let due diligence go by the wayside and concentrate on the moment and exploring new realms for our enjoyment.
Tuesday, July 1st – Wrong Way Corrigan – Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury direct. Tuesday begins with the Leo Moon sextile Mercury, just prior to Mercury turning direct. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eleven and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before entering Virgo later in the day. Tuesday could be a day of missteps, a time when we may want to be in motion and doing so despite some of the curveballs that come our way. We might feel as though we are running in place, with intentions to move forward only to find ourselves making very little headway. We could have thoughts of our future, consider our prospects and desire to advance ahead. Unfortunately, the transmission and reception of ideas, our forward movement and our plans could have us caroming between one head-banging incident and another. With the beginning of July today, we might be jazzed to fully embrace our summertime plans. It would be wise for us to slow things down, consider the true purpose of our intentions and recognize that it might be wiser to launch our projects once Mercury has found its footing in direct motion. Today is not that day but rather a day when we could easily misinterpret what we assume to be going on. We may feel that if we plough ahead, we shall be successful. Nice concept but not necessarily true reality as we find ourselves facing mixed signals and confused situations.
Wednesday, July 2nd – Playing Catch Up – Lunar T-Square, Neptune, Venus, Sun, Pluto. With Mercury having turned direct yesterday and doing so in its own Sign of Gemini and in the Aquarian decanate of Gemini, we might feel as though everything is smooth sailing. Not so fast! This Wednesday has the Moon in Virgo and today the Moon triggers a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Moon opposes Neptune and the Moon squares Venus. Whatever catches our fancy can also grab our attention. While we are ready and able to juggle any number of things today, it would be wise for us to focus on the most meaningful, prioritize and not get overly distracted by those shiny, sparkly things that divert our attention from being productive. The Moon sextiles the Sun and the Moon trines Pluto today. If we would take the time to draw up our ‘to do’ list, take things step by step, then we could accomplish a great deal in a short period of time. We can find the most expeditious ways to accomplish our projects and address the most important matters first. We do have to be careful not to get sidetracked by other people’s suggestions or their needs. We may be dealing from a high level of energy today, but let’s pay attention to what is going on and how we are going about some of our projects. If we get slipshod in our approach, we might cut corners, feel that we have taken care of various issues, only to discover later on that we have created an even greater mess for ourselves. Awareness and mindfulness are two of the keywords during these times, and it is essential that we engage them today to keep us focused and keep our eye on what needs to be done. This is a short week, bookended by elements of confusion to begin the week with Mercury turning direction and by stepping off the track at the end of the week to enjoy the long summer holiday weekend.
Thursday, July 3rd – One Foot In, One Foot Out – Saturn, Mercury. Thursday continues with the Virgo Moon, which today has the Moon sextile Saturn and the Moon square Mercury. The early part of the day can have us paying attention to our responsibilities, trying to get as much out of the way before the long holiday weekend in the US. We can streamline our operations, get rid of various pressing matters and deal with our daily routine in a fastidious and expeditious manner. As the day progresses, we could get a little more slipshod in our approach to our tasks at hand. The more we can accomplish earlier in the day, the better. Later in the day our minds can drift to holiday plans and scheduled social engagements. Some people may be leaving town early to grab as much gusto on this summer weekend as possible. Wednesday and Thursday could prove the most productive days of the week so let’s use them to our advantage and deal with what needs to get done.
Friday, July 4th – Happy Birthday, USA – Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Pluto. Friday is the beginning of a long holiday weekend in the US, as we celebrate Independence Day and the 4th of July. The Virgo Moon sextiles Jupiter before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for close to five and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before entering Libra. We may scurry around to do our fix-ups around home, especially if we are planning on entertaining people in our home over this holiday weekend. If we are traveling to get away, or made our great escape late yesterday, we could spend some of the morning getting settled for the weekend. We are interested in getting off the track today, whether we go anywhere physically or seek the escape valves in our mind. Our interest may lie in the camaraderie with other people. With the Sun opposed Pluto, we might feel a little uncomfortable in our own skins. We could sense that we have gone through some dramatic transformation, a major shapeshifting, but we might have difficulty expressing what has occurred within us especially if the external parameters of our lives still remain the same as before. This is a day when we could do a great deal of soul searching. Even if we don’t recognize the changes we have incorporated in our own lives, we are likely to be able to see far more clearly the drastic shifts in the conditions and circumstances of the world at large.
Saturday, July 5th – Party All the Time – Lunar Grand Cross, Pluto, Sun, Uranus, Mars, Venus. Saturday could have us in high gear. This is one of those high energy days with the Libra Moon triggering the Cardinal Grand Cross with the Moon square Pluto in Capricorn, the Moon square the Sun in Cancer, the Moon opposed Uranus in Aries, and the Moon conjunct Mars in Libra. The Moon trines Venus. We may try to fit in as many social get-togethers as possible today. We could be going from one fun event to another to yet another. And if we’re entertaining at home, we might have a revolving door of people coming and going. There is a great deal of activity today, some planned, some occurring spontaneously. We just have to pick up our pace and keep up with everything that is going on today. Today could have a kaleidoscope of activities, people, situations and events. Let’s not wear ourselves out, for we could feel as though we are bouncing from one thing to another to another with nary a moment to sit down and catch our breath. This day can be a blowout so it would be wise for us to consider Sunday as either a day of rest or slowing down the pace. There’s no slowing down on this Saturday, no stopping the speeding up carousel of carousing with good friends and enjoying good times today.
Sunday, July 6th – Running Down the Clock – Mercury, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course. The high activity level of yesterday could seep into the early morning hours of this Sunday. The Libra Moon trines Mercury and the Moon squares Jupiter before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for four hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before entering Scorpio later on this Sunday. We may still engage the festivities of the weekend as we begin the day, but our time of frivolities today might be short as we consider either cleaning up after the weekend or hitting the road to travel back home. While this weekend could prove one of the highlights of our Sumer 2014, today the fun whittles down. We may want to hit all the places and people that we might not have encountered earlier in the weekend, but as the day progresses we might retreat into a solitary seclusion. Our involvements with other people can wind down, as we give thought to what we need to do in the upcoming week and tie up loose ends from any social gatherings in which we have participated during this holiday weekend. This weekend may have been a lively reprieve from our daily existence, but the latter part of this Sunday can have us reflecting on what we have and what we need to be rid of.
