This week could have us feeling it, the proverbial ‘Merry month of May’. Just like nature opening up to us, we might feel as if we have come out from under a damp blanket and are ready to spread our wings and soar with the eagles.
This week can be one ‘feel good’ week. We might have plans of celebrations and fun events to look forward to. Life has taken on a far rosier hue. Our creative juices are flowing, and we are willing to spread the word of our upbeat attitude to anyone and everyone. Mutual joy could prove contagious, but it would be wise for us not to be blinded by the light.
Although we may be on a high this week and looking to participate in whatever fun activities we can find for ourselves, we do have to be wary of the liability towards irrational exuberance. The metronome swings nowadays can be wild, with us swinging from desolate despair at times over the past few months to an outburst of optimism, confidence and enthusiasm during the early part of this week.
We might be more engaged in seeking out good times at the beginning of the week, and why not? After all, the week begins with what has become a national partying day — Cinco de Mayo, a day for beer, tequila, nachos, other Mexican delicacies and good times with good friends. We may continue our pleasurable pursuits through the midweek period and enjoy the springtime activities of getting out and about, a well-deserved reward after a hard winter and a welcome respite from the anxieties of these times.
Even if we put our responsibilities aside early in the week, it might give us the opportunity to recharge our batteries, reinvigorate ourselves and allow us to be highly effective and far more productive at the end of the week. We might discover the truth to the fact that time is not merely a quantitative measure but also a qualitative concept, for at the end of the week we could get far more done in far less time than it might normally take.
The weekend may have us engaging with social obligations committed to weeks or months ago. Even if we are called upon to step away from our own personal interests and deal with communal expectations, let’s try to do so without resentment. The weekend could have us dredging up elements of our past. If we do, let’s not get stuck in them but rather see them as trace memories and so much water over the dam.
Since the weekend could be fraught with our ‘shoulds’, ‘oughts’ and a sense of imposed responsibilities, let’s enjoy ourselves during the early part of the week, take care of what needs to be done in the latter part of the week and grin and bear it over the weekend.
Monday, May 5th – Cinco de Mayo, Celebrate – Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus. Even if we have work to do on this Monday, the day may be slow starting with our thoughts somewhere other than the tasks at hand. The day begins with the Cancer Moon sextile Mercury. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over nine hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer and before entering Leo where the Moon today trines Venus. We may have some great intentions for what we want to do today, but much of our focus may revolve around either getting together with someone later in the day or finding avenues of entertainment later in the day. Any way we slice it, we might find that we have great intentions for what we want to get done, but our focus is more on pleasurable pursuits. Over the last twenty years, this day has become a day of celebration. Although most people might not appreciate the roots of this day being the celebration of the Mexicans’ unlikely victory of halting the forward movement of French troops in the town of Puebla in 1862, this day for many people is another day when license is given to partying, getting together with friends and enjoying social gatherings. We may not accomplish a great deal today, but it could serve as a ‘mental health’ day that puts a smile on our face and a spring in our step.
Tuesday, May 6th – Reach Out of the Darkness – Mars, Uranus, Sun, Jupiter. Tuesday can be one upbeat day. We can think outside the box, consider new directions for ourselves and engage in cheerful banter with someone to whom we might be attracted. Relationships may have proven a little dicey over the past few weeks and months. We might have found that some people had a chip on their shoulder and virtually begging us to engage them in adversarial interaction. Today could be a virtual one-eighty in that regard. Instead of people whining and moaning, we might find that people have gotten a ‘feel good’ transfusion. And even if other people haven’t, we are likely to have that ‘feel good’ attitude today. This is a day when we might feel confident, optimistic and enthusiastic about what we are doing and where we are going. We may be looking good and feeling good. Today, the Leo Moon sextiles Mars, the Moon trines Uranus and the Moon squares the Sun. The Sun sextiles Jupiter. Even though we may have the sense that everything is going our way, that the dark clouds have lifted and the sun is shining brightly, let’s bear in mind the metronome quality of life with its swings between feeling good and feeling down. We just need to keep the swings from going to extremes. Our presentations and our exuberance today can be contagious and can win us important allies in developing our projects, attaining our goals. Let’s just not overdo it.
Wednesday, May 7th – Ooops, We’ve Done it Again – Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury Gemini. If we didn’t heed the suggestion that we not overdo it yesterday, then today could have us feeling as if we were in a vise-like grip between a rock and a hard place. Any excesses from our confident state of mind yesterday could have to be dealt with today. This Wednesday has the Leo Moon square Saturn before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for nineteen and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before entering Virgo tomorrow. We might find that we went far out on a limb yesterday, overly committed ourselves and possibly spent more than would be appropriate. Like the saying goes: ‘if you dance to the music, you’ve got to pay to the piper’. We might find ourselves being squeezed financially today. Our expenses may be more than we anticipated, and we could find our options limited as a result of our debt load. Are we overly concerned about our situation? Possibly not, for Mercury exits Taurus to enter Gemini. Instead of a focused concentration on a best practices approach, we might be far more glib now, accepting a hope that things will somehow work themselves out, even if we don’t know how they might do so. Our mind can be racing with possibilities, but we do need to avoid ratcheting up our credit card balances with a sentiment to live for today with the belief that tomorrow will take care of itself. In deed, it will. It’s just a question of the conditions and circumstances tomorrow. Let’s try to deal with old issues, past matters today that could otherwise trip us up tomorrow or in the near future.
Thursday, May 8th – Talk About This, Talk About That – Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Neptune. With Mercury now in its own Sign of Gemini, our mind can be racing with all sorts of ideas. We are more than willing to share some of the thoughts that pop into mind. While our mind can be a huge kaleidoscope of various ideas, not all of them will be realistic or grounded. And on this Thursday with the Virgo Moon triggering a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon square Mercury and the Moon opposed Neptune we may not be using due diligence in regard to the many thoughts that come into mind. This is a day when we could speak without thinking, when we might ‘shoot from the lip’. With our nervous energy increased and our desire to cover all bases and more, we may have the tendency to consider anything and everything as possible. Let’s try and slow things down, consider the ins and outs of situations and be aware of what we are saying before we speak. We could easily fall prey to illusions and delusions today, embrace wishful thinking without considering the means, the intentions or the consequences of what we might say or what we might do.
Friday, May 9th – Doesn’t Get Better Than This – Lunar Grand Trine, Pluto, Sun, Jupiter, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course. This Friday is a primo day, a day when everything seems to fall neatly into place. We have to put some effort out today, but we are likely to find that things can be accomplished as if moving ahead on greased wheels. The Virgo Moon triggers an Earth Grand Trine with the Moon trine Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon trine the Sun in Taurus. The Moon also sextiles Jupiter in Cancer and the Moon sextiles Saturn in Scorpio. We can easily and effectively thread the needle today. Not only can we cut to the core and achieve some of our heartfelt wishes. But we can do so in a best practices approach by being resourceful yet still expanding our interests. Any presentations we make today can be incredibly solid in content. Our appearance can be well put together. We seem upbeat and highly capable. This is not a day to let slip by, for we can be operating at our optimum, and the fates can conspire to assist us in doing what we want to get done. After a highly productive day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course later in the day for over nineteen hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before entering Libra later on Saturday.
Saturday, May 10th – Wiped Out – Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Saturn. The Void-of-Course Moon that began yesterday with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before entering Libra continues today. Even as the Moon moves into Libra, the Moon makes no aspects to the planets today. There is no real energy today except for the Sun opposed Saturn. Perhaps we spent a great deal of energy yesterday ‘making hay while the sun shines’. Yesterday could have been a highly productive day and a most effective one at that. This Saturday may best be served spending time with that special someone or our favorite people. We might feel a little wiped out today without much desire to push the envelope or to accomplish a great deal. This may be something of a lazy day, hanging out with friends, or just spending time taking it easy. And that might not be such a bad idea when we consider the energy of yesterday where things could have been happening easily and effectively and tomorrow when the energy may be ratcheted up severalfold and we might feel as though we are participating in a mad hatter’s tea party.
Sunday, May 11th – Whacked Out – Mercury, Lunar Grand Cross, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune. Sunday is Mother’s Day but we could find ourselves dealing with various mothers other than just our Mom. This could prove to be one intense day with a great deal occurring. We may try to keep up with everything that is going on, but it could prove quite a challenge. The Libra Moon trines Mercury and the Moon triggers the Cardinal Sign Grand Cross with the Moon conjunct Mars, the Moon opposed both Venus and Uranus in Aries, the Moon square Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon square Jupiter in Cancer. Late in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for twenty-four hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before entering Scorpio late on Monday. Venus opposes Mars and Mercury squares Neptune. We might try to be considerate of other people’s need, but their demands could be daunting. We may be all over the place, both literally and figuratively. We could have several places to go to, various people to interact with and the liability to miscommunications, misunderstandings and unintended slights cannot be underestimated. The high anxiety and lack of clarity today might create not only confusion but also a dose of chaos. Issues of the past, best forgotten, could be dredged up and related in varying degrees of reality based upon the perspective. Let’s try to be as diplomatic as possible and not personalize any verbal slings that might fly towards us. This is a day to walk softly and forget the big stick.
