We could feel as though we have gained a second wind this week. Our physical energy may be increased, and we might be looking at spreading our wings. While we might be in something of an upbeat attitude, we just have to avoid spreading ourselves too thin.
There are two Grand Trines this week, one in Air to begin the week, the other in Water towards the latter part of the week. While this occurrence is fairly frequent, there are three other significant energy configurations this week.
Mars turns direct in Libra, ending the retrograde cycle that has gone on since the beginning of March, and a retrograde cycle that might have put a damper on our physical energy and on our relationships. The Sun exits Taurus to enter Gemini impelling us to greater activity, even if our actions are only momentary involvements and a tendency to engage many projects albeit with a gloss-over of each. And Jupiter trines Saturn over the weekend, instilling in us a desire to expand our interests in a structured and resourceful manner.
What’s not to like about this week? I could mention a few and shall do so in detail when I come to the daily energy patterns, but why rain on anyone’s parade? Atmospheric conditions might do so by extremes, both in extreme precipitation with consequent flash flooding and the extreme lack of precipitation that prolongs drought conditions.
The week begins with us looking at the far horizons — the what could bes, the possibilities and our prospects. We may be future-oriented as we start the week and enjoying the social interactions with those people we know and even those we encounter along the way. We may be feeling chipper, and our relationships can seem so much better than some of the disagreements or undercurrents of discord that might have prevailed over recent weeks. We may still be looking out for number 1, ourselves, but we might not be quite so belligerent towards other people or willing to throw them under the bus as when we sought immediate results and the most expedient means to get what we wanted.
Civility, that long lost art of social interaction, could be back in vogue.
The mid-part of the week can find us highly emotional. Our compassionate sense may be triggered as we might choose to participate in some universal outpouring of concern, care and assistance to those less fortunate than ourselves. We may want to make the world a better place than it is, no small order, but it would be wise for us not to go overboard by entangling ourselves in other people’s emotional dramas.
The weekend can have us on the fast track. We have the energy and the drive, but let’s not take on those quixotic journeys and try and prove ourselves by taking on more and more and more. If we would take the time to consider what we can do effectively and strategically, then we can both prioritize our involvements and devise a best practices approach to achieve positive results. Without that planning, we could find ourselves going round in circles, grabbing at this, entranced by that, but only adding to our activities list.
All in all, this can be a high energy week and one when we can accomplish a great deal. It is essential for us not race off without considering our direction and important for us to take our Google maps to find the best trajectories along our way.
Monday, May 19th – Back on the Right Track – Sun, Mars, Mars direct. The early morning hours of Monday has the Capricorn Moon trine the Sun. The Moon then moves into Aquarius where today the Moon trines Mars. Mars turns direct. We may start the week with our plans in hand and our commitment to achieve our goals. We can deal with the necessary details, devise the best structure for our projects and present our plans in an appealing package. We might even win adherents to our case and we could find that our intentions are helped along by the support of someone else. This is a day when we can have one foot in the productive realization of our dreams, and our other foot in the future of prospects and possibilities. Like a suspension bridge between where we are and where we want to go, we can effectively go back and forth between our present involvements and our future goals encouraged and assisted by someone who can virtually move mountains for us.
Tuesday, May 20th – Seduced by Possibilities – Uranus, Saturn, Venus, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun Gemini. Although we could have maintained an effective and productive balancing act between our daily obligations and our future prospects, this Tuesday could have us far more interested in futurevision than our daily responsibilities. The Aquarius Moon sextiles both Uranus and Venus in Aries, the Moon squares Saturn and the Moon trines Mercury. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for fourteen and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before entering Pisces tomorrow. Late today, early tomorrow the Sun exits Taurus to enter Gemini. This Tuesday is a day when we might give ourselves over to exploring new ventures that truly speak to us, allow us greater autonomy and freedom of movement, and scenarios that are exciting and not overly time-consuming. We may want it easy today, to have things come together without much effort. Certain matters could come up unexpectedly. This can be an exciting, enlivening day but in the process we could easily negate our daily responsibilities. We could lose our concentrated focus and be more entranced by the kaleidoscope of sights, sounds, possibilities and brief activities. In our quest for thrilling adventures, we have to be certain that we don’t step off the planet and totally step away from our everyday world.
Wednesday, May 21st – A Land of Make Believe – Sun, Neptune. Wednesday is ‘hump’ day, the mid-part of the week, but this ‘hump’ could catapult us into the stratosphere. The Pisces Moon squares the Sun and the Moon conjuncts Neptune. We could have so many ideas, so many possibilities that we lose our groundedness and fly high into a world of fantasy and make believe. They say that ‘the road to hell is paved with good intentions’, and we might find ourselves journeying that road today. With the myriad of possibilities and prospects and good intentions that we devised or became aware of yesterday, today could have us flying high, assuming that whatever we can conceive we could easily achieve. While there is much truth to that belief, we need to recognize and appreciate that there are times when we want more and more and even want it all. This is a day when we can be like a kid in a candy shop, wanting one of these, taking two of those, and just adding more and more to our plate. Due diligence may fly out the window today, for we are enamored more by our appetites and desires than realistic goals. Even if we step off the planet into la-la-land today, it would be wise for us to have our inner monitor engaged in braking action in order that our flings of fancy don’t cost us a huge amount in time, monies, or eventual aggravations.
Thursday, May 22nd – Saint and Savior – Pluto, Lunar Grand Trine, Jupiter, Saturn. Thursday is the 22nd, the day of the ‘master builder’ in numerology. And in deed we can be highly effective and get more things done today than on many other days. Not only can we focus on the truly meaningful, be expeditious in our approach and concentrate on getting things done. We also have the passion and determination to virtually move mountains in order to make the world a better place than the way we have found it. Our empathy and compassion are engaged today. We want to help other people, especially those who do not have the same tools and resources that we have. We can effectively address their problems. The Pisces Moon today sextiles Pluto and the Moon triggers the Water Grand Trine with the Moon today trine Jupiter in Cancer and the Moon trine Saturn in Scorpio. One of the beauties of today and through the weekend is the harmonious connection between two planetary energies that are diametrically opposed — Jupiter and Saturn. Our tendency to broaden our reach and expand our interests can be done in a well-defined structure and a resourceful format. We have it going on, and today we can enlist our soul and spirit to be the savior to other people and act saint-like to make the lives of someone or other people better than they are.
Friday, May 23rd – Spirit in Action – Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun. Friday begins with the Pisces Moon square Mercury. The ease with which we were able to accomplish so much yesterday, as if divinely guided, could allow us to assume that we have a magic wand with the ability to change anything and everything and remedy all the ills of the world. Nice concept, but the vagaries of life’s unfolding do not always work that way. We could, however, start this Friday with the assumption that whatever we want to fix we can fix it. The challenge is an egocentric one, falling back into the old paradigm mindset of our own omnipotence and the belief that if we want something just so we have the power to make it just so. On the contrary, the paradigm shift asks us to let go of our control, or our conditioned belief that we can master all things around us, and accept our position in life as being co-creators with the universal unfolding. There are times when we can be highly effective, and those times are when we are in synch with the natural unfolding. There are other times when we can take body slams, and those are the times when we are acting in opposition to the universal unfolding. As the Serenity prayer composed by theologian Reinhold Niebuhr instructs us:
“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.”
Although we start the day with a long list of what we want to do, and a list so long that it causes us great confusion, the energy shifts as the Moon goes Void-of-Course for nine and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before entering Aries, where today the Aries Moon sextiles the Sun. We might question our intentions, our goals and our plans as we begin this Friday, but as the day proceeds we gain a second wind, have the energy and stamina and the self-affirmative drive to take on the world once again. Let’s just keep track of the weather vane in order to be aware of whichever way the wind blows. We might stumble at the start of this day, but as the day progresses we find our rhythm, gain our pace and can move swiftly and effectively in handling various matters.
Saturday, May 24th – Call Me Thor – Lunar Grand Cross, Mars, Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter, Saturn. This Saturday could have us wielding our sword, taking on every situation that comes our away and meeting any obstacles swiftly and successfully. We are dealing with the Cardinal Grand Cross today triggered by the Aries Moon conjunct Uranus, the Moon opposed Mars and the Moon square Pluto and the Moon square Jupiter. Jupiter trines Saturn. This could be one highly active day. Not only are we dealing with our scheduled activities, commitments made weeks or months ago, but we have various unexpected situations that arise which could keep us on our toes. No matter, for this day can have us effectively juggling any and all things thrown at us today. We can expand our activities and in so doing we could develop the most expeditious and resourceful means to take care of the many scenarios that come up. We may have to work the tai chi moves, but we are aware of the energies operating, adept at handling the many varied issues we are asked to address and can successfully navigate the rapid currents of this day. It is important that we keep in mind the ‘how’ of what we are doing. We can take on more than usual today, bit it is essential that we utilize a best practices approach in carrying out the various matters we engage.
Sunday, May 25th – Take Five, Time Out – Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury. The Aries Moon today conjuncts Venus and the Moon sextiles Mercury before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for five and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before entering Taurus later today. We may start the day with a flurry of activity, either getting together with someone or communicating with them by phone, text, or email. After a fairly hectic Saturday, we might want to touch base with someone, but we might not be up for intense social activity. Getting out of Dodge, taking a drive, spreading our wings may be some fun activities to consider. We don’t want to be hemmed in and would prefer not having our day determined by previously made commitments. Yesterday was the day of dealing with our commitments, our obligations, unexpected adventures and racing to the max. This Sunday, not so much. On the contrary, this Sunday is a day to enjoy springtime, to take things any way we want them and not feel pressured to do any thing or meet other people’s expectations. We might soar with the eagles today and just enjoy riding the air currents, letting them take us wherever they take us. This Sunday is a day for a ‘time out’, for us to take five and just luxuriate in spare time.
