Here we go again. The lack of civility and inability to follow through on commitments that we might have witnessed last week can ratchet up during this week. Ill-conceived actions can trigger accidents and severe overreaches.
Last week, we had the Cardinal Grand Cross triggered by Mercury early in the week. Communications could have been harsh with people doing whatever they wanted based upon their personal interests and with little consideration for other people’s concerns. The 17th Century poet John Donne wrote “no man is an island, entire of itself”, but last week might have contested that sentiment as people tended to be so self-absorbed that they assumed the world revolved around themselves alone. Even if the grievances were smoothed over later in the week, the initial bitings may have left nasty stings.
While Monday through Wednesday of last week had the Cardinal Grand Cross triggered by Mercury along with the Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse, the Monday through Wednesday of this week has the Cardinal Grand Cross triggered by Mars along with the Uranus Pluto square exact. While our brain and calm reasoning abilities might have been disengaged last week, the early part of this week could have our brawn and actions disconnected from well-conceived plans and intentions. Early this week, we may engage brawn over brain.
Our ability to rein in our passions and to avoid knee-jerk reactions might be sorely tested at the beginning of the week. We might choose a fight instead of flight stance, even if such a stance seems to pit David against Goliath. Bullying in its various forms could be severe this week.
With the intensity of the energies, this early part of the week could see various blowouts occurring – on a personal level in our engagements with other people and even our closest intimates, on a geopolitical level as conflicting national interests play a tug-of-war, on a geophysical level with possible earthquakes and volcanic activity occurring, and on a societal level as the interests of the individual conflict with the wishes of the powers-that-be.
This is a week when it is essential that we count to ten before we take any action and especially any reaction to irritating situations.
The first three days of this week could be exhausting, and we might seek the latter part of the week and the weekend as a downtime, time for us to relax, re-create and get our energy back on line.
This week is one of extremes, with the intensity ratcheted up at the beginning of the week and a softening and smoothing out as we come towards the latter part of the week.
Monday, April 21st – Unexpected Dissolutions – Venus, Saturn, Mercury, Uranus, Pluto. Monday continues with the Moon in Capricorn with the Moon today sextile Venus, the Moon sextile Saturn and the Moon square Mercury. The Uranus Pluto square that has dogged us for the past two years and will continue to do so for another year is EXACT today. This Monday, we could go pleasantly along dealing with our daily responsibilities, addressing the details of our lives. Then suddenly, it might seem as if the floor has opened up beneath us and the earth has shaken us to its core. The conditions and circumstances that we assumed were operational and that seemed solid could dramatically shift and change. Let’s keep in mind that we are living through transformational times, times of sharp transitions akin to the shapeshifting phenomena spoken of by first nations peoples. Old structures, patterns, institutions and the like may teeter, crumble and fall. We have seen such occurrences already, but we may still have more such scenarios unfolding. This is a day that demands that we not have blinders on to what is going on around us, but rather for us to be aware and mindful of changing circumstances. We might want to continue to put one foot in front of the other, but we might be forced to sidestep in order to avoid various pitfalls. This is a day for us to expect the unexpected. Any shifts today can be sudden and drastic. Let’s be careful out there.
Tuesday, April 22nd – Pedal to the Metal – Sun, Uranus, Mars, Cardinal Grand Cross, Jupiter. Tuesday is the 22nd, in numerology the Master Number of the Master Builder. But it is only a Master Number if we can rise to the occasion. Otherwise, the 22 falls down into the 4, no longer the Master Builder but more likely the Worker Bee. The Moon is in Aquarius on this Tuesday, and the Moon today squares the Sun, the Moon sextiles Uranus, and the Moon trines Mars. Whereas last week we had Mercury triggering the Cardinal Grand Cross, this week Mars triggers the Cardinal Grand Cross starting today with Mars square Jupiter, followed tomorrow with the Mars T-Square as Mars opposes Uranus and Mars squares Pluto. This day could be a day of overreach. We may be so enamored with the prospects for our future that we throw caution to the winds and in the process look to leap ahead into new directions no matter the costs in time, monies or focused concentration. This Tuesday is a day when we may want what we want and are unwilling to take ‘no’ to our desires. The liability to excess is strong, and this is a day for us to try and rein in our passions, appetites and supreme confidence. I write try since such moderation might be hard to come by. If we rush ahead based upon our wants, we could wind up like lemmings racing for the cliffs. Let’s try to slow things down and consider our actions before proceeding impulsively.
Wednesday, April 23rd – Bang, Crash, Boom – Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Cardinal Grand Cross, Mars, Uranus, Pluto, Mercury Taurus. The last two days may have been challenging for us to maintain a semblance of balance and a modicum of effectiveness. Today could provide the crescendo. The Aquarius Moon squares Saturn before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over fourteen and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before entering Pisces late today, early tomorrow. Mercury exits Aries to enter Taurus. But the kicker for today is the continuation of the Mars triggered Cardinal Grand Cross where today Mars triggers a T-Square with Mars opposed Uranus and Mars square Pluto. This could prove one intense day — explosive, bombastic with people banging and crashing about and accidents likely to occur. The liability to people acting out cannot be understated. Many people have been on edge recently and on edge for a while, and energies like those today could be the detonator for extreme releases. This is a day for us to slow things down, maintain constant vigilance and to be on our toes. Defensive driving and defensive actions might be necessary to successfully circumnavigate some of the intensities of today. This type of energy could also coincide with earthquakes and volcanic activity, with war-like posturing between nation states, and a general aggressiveness that may be sudden and unexpected but powerful nonetheless.
Thursday, April 24th – Spiritual Reveries – Mercury, Sun, Neptune. Thursday can offer us a breather from the intensity of the past few days, and we might use this day to consider, contemplate and reflect on all that has gone on earlier this week and the early part of last week. Conversations and actions could have been crazy-making, and this Thursday might be a good time for us to take stock regarding all that has been going on. Today, the Moon is in Pisces and the Moon sextiles both Mercury and the Sun in Taurus and the Moon conjuncts Neptune. We may have an otherworldly sense about ourselves and about our lives today. We may want to give ourselves some special treats for having made it through the past few days. Certainly, we are likely to slow things down today. From the intense rush and bumpy rides of the past few days, this Thursday allows us to enjoy a smoother and gentler ride. We might seek out those idyllic places where we can gather our strength, nurture our spirit and get in touch with our soulful essence. Getting out into nature, down by the water or just in the comforts of our own home can all prove restorative and necessary measures. No matter how much we might have felt banged up recently, we may also come to realize and appreciate how resilient we truly are. Even if only in our mind’s eye, we can step into our safe, happy place today and recognize that we are all right and the truth in the wisdom saying that ‘we never get more than we can handle.’
Friday, April 25th – Let’s Have a Party – Pluto, Lunar Grand Trine, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Sun, Mercury. While our attention is often drawn to the intensities of the Cardinal Grand Cross operating during these times, we tend to forget that we also have a Water Grand Trine operational with Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces. The Grand Trine is accentuated on this Friday, as the Pisces Moon trines Jupiter in Cancer and the Moon trines Saturn in Scorpio. The Moon also sextiles Pluto and the Moon conjuncts Venus. Venus trines Saturn and the Sun conjuncts Mercury. This can be a highly pleasant day, a day when we seek to get together with friends and reconnect with people we might not have been in touch with for a while. We are feeling far more compassionate about life and about our interactions with people. Everyone may seem far more considerate than what we might have experienced earlier this week and at the beginning of last week. If we have stepped, or tromped, on toes recently, this is a good day for us to make amends. We do not have to justify our previous actions or comments, only say that we’re sorry. All of us understand how intense these times are and it is essential that we cut other people, as well as ourselves, a good deal of slack in dealing with the anxieties of these times. We may find that people are opening their house and their heart to each other. The beauty of adversity is that it builds character and allows the true spirit of human nature to be expressed. We might be surprised by the outpouring of love, warmth and appreciation today.
Saturday, April 26th – Doing What Needs to Be Done – Mercury, Neptune. Part of our challenge and our opportunity during these frenetic times is engaging the behavior of being more effective with less expenditure of energy. This Saturday may give us a second wind. The Moon enters Aries, and we might be looking again at start-ups, initiations and new beginnings. The key to the day is to work smarter rather than harder, and we could find that attitude reinforced thanks to today’s Mercury sextile Neptune. One of the lessons for us to come to learn during these times is to not take anything at face value. During these times of claimed transparency that in truth is foggy at best, or delusional and downright falsehoods at its worst; we need to draw upon that inner voice of knowing that supersedes empirical evidence or passionate claims. The tricksters are at play and we neither get full disclosure nor accurate information from them. We are living during times of a kaleidoscope of images, presentations, promises and appearances that do not always mesh with true reality. Fortunately, our higher sensibilities are being attuned. Our intuitive sense and revelatory insights are being fully developed. We might not know how to justify or clearly explain our senses of things, but our feeling nature provides an honest guide as to what is really going on. This Saturday has our intuitive faculties fully aware. We are unlikely to be fooled today, for we can see through any mirage or assertions that just don’t ring true for us. Today is a day when we can do what needs to be done expeditiously. We can also start new projects and do so with an intuitive sense as to how best to go about them. Let’s value our sense of things, that feeling nature that in years past was cast off derogatorily as ‘women’s intuition’. Such intuition is a gift and sense faculty that we all have, is being developed and could prove the saving grace from our falling into pitfalls of illusions.
Sunday, April 27th – Anxieties on the Dark Side of the Moon – Lunar Grand Cross, Mars, Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Neptune. Late Saturday, early Sunday could have us feeling on edge again. The Cardinal Grand Cross is triggered by the Aries Moon with the Moon today opposed Mars, the Moon square Pluto, the Moon conjunct Uranus and the Moon square Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost twenty-seven and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before entering Taurus tomorrow. We are on the dark side of the Moon prior to the Taurus New Moon late on Monday, early Tuesday. Our sleep state might be agitated late Saturday, early Sunday. We might feel as though our plans for Sunday will be compromised by unexpected situations arising. Our obligations and commitments and plans made for us could interfere with our freewheeling desires. Sometimes, our imaginations can run rampant and this could be one of those days. The Sun sextiles Neptune on this Sunday, and we might consider using this day as a time to relax and just enjoy ourselves. Even if we wish to proceed with new projects, let’s keep in mind that initiations and start-ups are usually more productive with the waxing Moon. This is a day for us to take time for ourselves and not feel pressured by our own expectations or other people’s expectations.
