Let the games begin, although as many of us were reminded when we were children and roughhousing: “it’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt.” Let’s hope the movers and shakers don’t decide to play high stakes games of Risk or Monopoly this week or next week.
I would write this week is topsy-turvy but that would seem to lessen the impact of the early part of this week. There are some downright intense energies in the first half of this week, but they could serve as but a prelude to what we might experience the following week. The Monday through Wednesday of this week and also next week can ratchet the energies up severalfold with some devastating consequences.
I don’t want to put on a costume of Mister Doom and Gloom, but I do want to suggest and even emphasize that the beginnings of these two weeks necessitate, virtually demand, that we be extremely careful in all that we do. It will be important for us to engage our awareness and mindfulness and be ever vigilant to whatever is going on in the world at large and in our own personal realm.
The Cardinal Grand Cross is engaged both weeks. Communications and actions taken can be belligerent, impetuous and possibly ill-conceived. There is a great deal of energy in the first half of this week, and the question is whether we can surf the tsunami-like waves skillfully or whether we are body-slammed by circumstances happening.
The beginning of the week can be highly explosive. There can be bomb blasts and severe actings out. People may promise more than they can deliver. We could experience geophysical phenomena of earthquakes and volcanic activity. Travel could be disrupted, especially air travel, and communications compromised with major glitches in computer systems. Relationships might be dicey as people engage impulsive actions and knee-jerk reactions. Welcome to a world of chaotic unfolding as the pace accelerates exponentially.
If only we could keep up with the curveballs thrown at us and harness this energy, then we could accomplish a great deal in moving things along, getting things going. But harnessing these tornado-like energies is a tall order, and we would have to be highly adept at being flexible and adaptable as situations change in a nanosecond of time.
If we get through the first three days of this week unscathed, the latter part of the week seems far kinder and gentler. This would be a good time for us to cherish those important people in our lives, acknowledge that we have made it through the night, and recognize that we can meet any challenges that might come our way. We may feel buoyed by our resilience, but it would be wise for us not to let our guard down.
The latter part of this week may allow us to catch our breath, but it could prove only a respite before the energies ratchet up again late on this coming Sunday and the early part of next week, the Monday through Wednesday scenario, once again.
Monday, April 14th – Bombastic and Bombs Bursting – Cardinal Grand Cross, Lunar Grand Cross, Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto, Mars, Pluto retrograde. Composed by Prince, ‘Manic Monday’ was a popular song for The Bangles in 1986. Manic Monday is a condition we all often feel as we start the work week or school week. This Monday and next Monday can be the epitome of Manic Mondays, for the energies are so intense that we might feel as though we are caught in the manic-depressive cycle of supreme highs followed by extreme lows. This Monday has the Cardinal Grand Cross highlighted. The Libra Moon triggers the Grand Cross with the Libra Moon conjunct Mars, the Moon opposed both Mercury and Uranus in Aries, the Moon square Jupiter in Cancer and the Moon square Pluto in Capricorn. That would be more than enough to trigger a Manic Monday… but there’s more. Mercury also triggers the Cardinal Grand Cross and does so today and over the next two days. Today, Mercury conjuncts Uranus and Mercury squares Jupiter. That would be more than enough… but there’s more. Pluto turns retrograde today. This can be one highly intense and unforgiving day, and it precedes tomorrow’s Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse. Today, tomorrow and Wednesday might be days when we could choose to meet the world clothed in elbow pads, knee pads and full body armor. We need to be astute and highly aware as to what we are doing, what is going on around us and our interactions with other people. People could shoot from the lip saying whatever they choose to say impulsively and without any editor whatsoever. Actions taken can be impetuous with a tendency to prove the belief that ‘might makes right’. Communications can be off, both in what is being said and what is being heard. Selective listening could be strong with many people unable to be receptive listeners but rather aggressively expressing their own feelings and ideas. If issues have arisen in relationships, today and tomorrow could see explosive temperaments and ill-advised statements. There could be issues with travel today, and I, for one, would avoid air travel, since the energies could impact delays, disruptions and accidents along the way. Finally, Pluto turning retrograde late in the day, early tomorrow could have a significant impact. There can be explosive actions, including earthquake and volcanic activity. Bombings could occur and we might find another traditional institution weakening or crumbling as the transformation from the old into the new becomes ever more evident. This is a day for us to be careful, very careful, and certainly not to push the envelope.
Tuesday, April 15th – Taxing in Many Ways – Libra Full Moon, Lunar Eclipse, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Pluto. This Tuesday, the 15th, is Tax Day in the US, the day when we are obliged to hand over to the Federal Government a good portion of our daily wages. Today is also Passover, and we can only hope that the figurative Angel of Death passes over us without much consternation to our lives. Today has the Libra Full Moon, a Lunar Eclipse, before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost nine hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before entering Scorpio. In addition, we continue with the Mercury-triggered Cardinal Grand Cross as Mercury today squares Pluto, and tomorrow Mercury opposes Mars. Words can be sharp, even brutal. People may say hurtful things, and relationships can be highly problematic. This is a day when we might need to bite our tongue and be wary of explosive comments that we might come to later regret. We are in the middle of a three-day period that could prove taxing at best, downright disastrous at worst. Our mind can be incisive, and it would be hard for people to put one over on us but if they try, we could be reading them the Riot Act. Everybody may be scurrying around, on edge and playing the blame game whereby we refuse to accept responsibility or accountability for our words or actions but instead pin our frustrations on someone else. Let’s just hope the powers-that-be don’t get into some kind of pissing match where we wind up as collateral damage. I won’t suggest that we all hide under the covers this Monday through Wednesday, but I shall suggest that we tread lightly and avoid confrontations.
Wednesday, April 16th – Lightening Up – Lunar Grand Trine, Neptune, Venus, Jupiter, Pluto, Mercury, Mars. Wednesday continues and finishes with the Mercury-triggered Cardinal Grand Cross as Mercury opposes Mars today. We could have a tug-of-war with someone due to what may have transpired over the past two days. We all need to see situations from not only our own perspective but also other people’s viewpoints as well. Let’s not imitate the Washington bread and circus and be locked into solely wanting what we want and how we want it with little regard for other people’s ideals, feelings or opinions. Fortunately, the day tends to lighten up, thanks to the Scorpio Moon and its creation of a Water Grand Trine as the Moon trines both Neptune and Venus in Pisces and the Moon trines Jupiter in Cancer. The Moon sextiles Pluto. This Wednesday we could start to make amends for any outlandish actions or off-the-charts statements. We might choose to step away from the hurly-burly of agitated activities and choose some quiet time to reflect, contemplate and consider what has gone on. We might find ourselves feathering our nest by straightening things up around our home. We could also consider what is truly important in our lives and what are mere diversions and distractions that keep us running at an accelerated pace but in a race to nowhere. This is a day for us to regroup. Wednesday may be considered ‘hump day’ of the workweek, but we might be relieved that we have gotten this far in the week. It could be a comfortable slide from here into the weekend, but these next few days are best served recharging our batteries, refocusing and preparing for the next wave.
Thursday, April 17th – Après le Deluge – Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Jupiter. Thursday begins with the Scorpio Moon conjunct Saturn. We might feel compelled to address our responsibilities, take care of our mundane obligations. After a hairy and harried few days when various curveballs could have been thrown our way, Thursday allows us to get back on board of our daily routine. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for fifteen and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before entering Sagittarius. This is a day when the energy dies down. We get a respite and we can take care of whatever needs to get done. If we can clear out the clutter, clean up the mess, then we would have room for exciting new things to enter our lives. Venus trines Jupiter, and we could be looking at adding some interesting touches to our home, making our home ever more a sanctuary and enjoying the comforts of our home base. While we might have felt we dodged a bullet from the antics of the past few days, we have to be careful not to be extravagant or go overboard in giving ourselves some well-deserved desserts. Let’s enjoy ourselves, indulge our appetites but avoid any excesses that could leave us with a nasty hangover or heartburn.
Friday, April 18th – Grass Being Greener – Neptune, Uranus, Venus, Mars, Pluto. Friday has the Sagittarius Moon with the Moon today square both Neptune and Venus in Pisces, the Moon trine Uranus in Aries and the Moon sextile Mars in Libra. Venus sextiles Pluto. There are times when we assume that life could be so much better… somewhere other than where we are. This could be one of those days. We might fantasize about how wonderful things could be in a different locale with us doing something different than what we are used to doing. Ah, illusions and delusions! Even if we are feeling somewhat malcontent today, the answer may lie in spreading our wings and exploring new engagements. We do not have to throw the baby out with the bath water. We can step away from our usual routine and investigate new possibilities. We want to feel freedom of movement and not as though we are in lock step with some regimented routine. Our reworking some of our statements and actions earlier in the week can continue on this Friday, as we look to focus on those people that are the most important in our lives and who let us stretch and grow into new facets of character for ourselves. This is a day to expand our options without overly committing to any one thing.
Saturday, April 19th – Getting a Second Wind – Mercury, Sun, Sun Taurus. Saturday continues with the Sagittarius Moon with the Moon today trine both Mercury and the Sun in Aries. The Moon later moves into Capricorn and the Sun exits Aries to enter Taurus late today, early tomorrow morning. Like a breath of fresh air, we may feel that this Saturday is a day for us to re-create, relax and reinvigorate. And it would be wise for us to do so in light of the fact that late tomorrow and especially the early part of this coming week has us back at it with the Cardinal Grand Cross. This Saturday is a day for us to feel upbeat, optimistic and as though the world is our oyster. No matter what our plans might be, we are looking to stretch beyond our usual parameters. If we can get out of Dodge, air out, participate in fun pursuits, it is all the better. We are not looking to be tied to our errands or our obligations today. We want to roam the four corners of the world and get a second wind. With the Sun exiting Aries to enter Taurus, the Stellium of three planets in Aries ends. We may find ourselves slightly more patient and willing to take things step by step rather than the sometimes impetuous and impulsive giant leaps we might have taken over the past month. We may become less reactive to situations and more willing to allow the dust to settle before we respond to unexpected situations.
Sunday, April 20th – Back at It – Cardinal Grand Cross, Neptune, Lunar Grand Cross, Uranus, Pluto, Jupiter, Mars. During these volatile times, times when we might feel swept up in tsunami-like conditions, our respites could be brief and short-lived. But respites are necessary disengagements from some of the craziness and crazy-making circumstances that seem to be occurring ever more frequently in the world at large. The past three and a half days might have proven such a respite and disengagement from the intense energies of these times. Today, Easter Sunday, might be the prelude to the next three days of intensified and extreme volatilities. This Sunday has the Moon in Capricorn sextile Neptune and the Moon triggering the Cardinal Grand Cross with the Moon conjunct Pluto, the Moon square Uranus in Aries, the Moon opposed Jupiter in Cancer and the Moon square Mars in Libra. Added to this conundrum, Jupiter triggers the Cardinal Grand Cross with a T-Square today as Jupiter squares Uranus and Jupiter opposes Pluto. The next few days has the Grand Cross further engaged with the Uranus Pluto square exact and Mars triggering the Grand Cross as well. We may have a great deal going on today. Our lives may not seem to be our own but rather determined by someone else’s actions, by circumstances beyond our control and by the speed-up of the accelerated processes of these times. We may find ourselves all over the place today — physically and emotionally. The liability to excess and overdoing cannot be discounted, so it would be wise for us to pick and choose what we might engage on this Easter Sunday. We do have to be wary of indulgences. For many people, this Easter Sunday ranks up there as one of those days of social get-togethers with good and plenteous food and a fair amount of sweets in the form candy and chocolate. Let’s keep in mind that like a prized fighter we do need to maintain our conditioning, our awareness and our strength to effectively engage the vicissitudes of these times. It would be wise for us to be vigilant, for as the little girl says in the 1986 movie Poltergeist II: The Other Side: “They’re back.”
