March 3rd – 9th, 2014

If we get stuck in the rigidity of our being right even when proven wrong, an attitude of self-absorption could lead us down the brambled path of bad decisions and inappropriate actions this week.

A sense of belligerence and willingness to proceed no matter the number of cautionary flags or red alerts that point to the errors of our ways can be strong as we start this week. We could easily proceed on a quixotic journey tilting at windmills, dodging curve balls and negating evidence that our direction and itinerary are heading us into dangerous waters.

Even if we see the errors of our ways, we may be a little too pig-headed to acknowledge them and turn back from our scheduled rendezvous with hardship, fateful consequences and even unintended consequences. Or we could find ourselves having to follow someone else’s direction, a direction that may not have been carefully considered before engaged.

This is a week when we need to get over ourselves, get out of our own way and embrace a little humility, a quality severely lacking in today’s atmosphere of narcissism and entitlement.

We start the week energized and willing to do battle. We may feel as though we have the strength of a hundred lions, but much of our strength may seem more like mental fantasies than the strength of our position.

Let’s keep in mind that the past weekend shifted various energies. Last Friday had Mercury turning direct from its three-week retrograde cycle. Saturday had Mars turning retrograde, followed on Sunday with Saturn turning retrograde. The focus of energy may be far more internal than external, but we could be straining to prove ourselves, put our imprint upon new projects and move forward more from brawn than brain.

If we dig ourselves a large enough hole from impetuousness and recklessness, we might have a difficult time pulling ourselves out.

This is a week that demands that we slow things down, avoid impulse decisions but also that we embrace the reality of the paradigm shift where we can let go of attempting total control over our circumstances and accept the natural unfolding of serendipity and synchronicity.

While the beginning of the week could have us tripping over ourselves, we can straighten things out in the mid-week period and be far more effective and productive. We do need to adhere to the tenets of these times: adaptability and flexibility.

The latter part of the week and the weekend allows for greater flexibility and less rigidity than we might experience in the first part of the week. We may be far lighter and interested in scoping out various possibilities rather than fixated on just one, self-serving activity. The singular focus earlier in the week gives way to a smorgasbord of pleasant delights over the weekend.

Monday, March 3rd – My Way – Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto, Mercury, Sun. Monday begins the week with the Aries Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Moon conjuncts Uranus, the Moon squares Jupiter in Cancer and the Moon squares Pluto in Capricorn. The Moon sextiles Mercury, and the Sun sextiles Pluto. We are coming off this past weekend of various energy switches — Mercury turning direct last Friday, Mars turning retrograde on Saturday and Saturn turning retrograde yesterday. We are also under the influence of this past Saturday’s New Moon, which contributes to a possible overreach with a whole lot of confusion going on. This Monday could have each of us pushing our agenda, and as I often suggest, ‘check the source and check their agenda’. We could easily be willing to go it alone today, focused on our plans with a determination that nothing is going to stand in our way. We may have to deal with unexpected incidents arising, either throwing us off course or making us ever more determined to get what we want no matter the obstacles. While we might have to take various twists and turns today, we can navigate the swirling currents. We have an indomitable will and a desire to concentrate solely on those things that truly speak to us. We might feel as if we have a manifest destiny, that no matter what occurs, we are destined to achieve our goals. We are looking to stand out and not merely fit in. In such a disposition, we may rock someone’s world and even push the envelope against accepted behavior. No matter, for we want to be free, express our uniqueness and do our thing. By strategizing our moves, we can deal with anything that comes up.

Tuesday, March 4th – Socially Unacceptable – Lunar T-Square, Mars, Venus, Neptune. The blunderbuss of yesterday with people forging intrepidly ahead despite cautionary indications to the contrary can continue on into this Tuesday. The Aries Moon triggers the Cardinal Sign T-Square again but with different players engaged. Today, the Moon opposes Mars and the Moon squares Venus. Later in the day, the Moon exits Aries to enter Taurus where the Moon sextiles Neptune. We may continue to proceed through what some might consider the Valley of Death or at least wrong, even socially unacceptable, actions. People could be acting out, stepping on other people’s toes and creating ill will. Relationships today can be dicey, as they were yesterday. We might feel that someone is only interested in themselves and willing to do whatever it takes to win their way no matter the amount of dismay or discord they generate in their wake. Initiations might move into maintenance as the day proceeds. A less impetuous attitude provides the chance to employ public relations and put the right spin on things. Actions taken earlier today, yesterday and even this past weekend can now be presented in a more reasonable manner, with enticing explanations taking the place of aggressive behavior. We can start to make amends for any flagrant actions.

Wednesday, March 5th – Back in the Saddle – Jupiter, Pluto, Sun, Venus Aquarius. Wednesday is a horse of a different color when compared to Monday and Tuesday of this week. This can be a primo day when we can clean up the messes we might have created over the past few days. We may be highly effective and productive today. Whatever we have started recently, we can fashion into a functional and well-running machine. The Taurus Moon today sextiles Jupiter, the Moon trines Pluto, and the Moon sextiles the Sun. Venus exits Capricorn to enter Aquarius. We may feel that we have won the day. No matter the bumps and bruises we might have experienced recently, it may all seem worth it. We are feeling good about things today with a sense of moving in the right direction. Even if we have had to jettison certain interests, situations and people, we could find that some new, interesting and quirky scenarios have opened up that are far more appealing. This is a day when we can accomplish a great deal. The frenetic and frantic energies of the past few days quiet down. The pieces are in place, and we can now move forward our goals in a highly effective manner. In advancing our interests, not only can we please ourselves but we can show both our resilience and our determination to those that are impressed by our passion and capabilities.

Thursday, March 6th – Fine Tuning Amidst Resistance – Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Jupiter direct. Yesterday could have been a highly effective day. We could have virtually been able to move mountains. Thursday, however, seems to slow down the solid movement of our projects forward. The Taurus Moon today triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Mercury and the Moon opposes Saturn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over twelve and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Taurus and before entering Gemini where the Moon trines Venus. Jupiter turns from retrograde to direct motion. Delays and frustrations can create resistance to our plans. Things may take longer than we like today, but we could also find that we haven’t fully explained ourselves and that our resources are being strained. Whenever we start something, we see it so easily completed in our mind’s eye, in the abstract. The actual manifestation is often not as easy with various delays, cost overruns and reconsiderations during the process from breaking ground to completion. While we would prefer clear sailing in all of our activities, any hiccups along the way do allow for a honing and fine tuning. Instead of getting totally enmeshed in our plans and our concepts, we do need to honor the reality that projects and activities have a life of their own, unfolding in their own natural way despite what we might consider the fastest and easiest ways of doing things. We may have to take longer on certain activities than we like. While we could get stymied today, let’s not despair. As part of the paradigm shift, we may be coming more aware of the fact that things can change rapidly and dramatically in a very short period of time. Let’s try and deal with any problems today, address outstanding matters and rework those areas that need attention. As the day progresses, we might feel lighter and happier and we may choose to engage the company of someone who has a different spin on things.

Friday, March 7th – Living for the Weekend – Neptune, Uranus. After a volatile week of ups and downs and being spun all around, this Friday has us looking toward the weekend. We could even say that we are living for the weekend, and it could prove a nice respite from the various twists and turns that have gone on recently. Friday has the Gemini Moon square Neptune, and the Moon sextile Uranus. We may have a multitude of choices for things to do, things that need to be done, as we start this Friday. Either confusion could be rampant, or we could go from one thing to another looking for something to focus on yet finding nothing truly satisfactory to concentrate on. We may be so caught up in activity that we miss some of the clues along the way. Not to worry though, for after a spin through all sorts of possibilities we may settle on something totally new and unique to our experience for the evening hours. Even if we have certain tasks to attend to, we might gloss over them or put them aside for another time. This is a day when we may be more living for the weekend than being present to the needs of this Friday. Even if we do skip about today, we can always justify our actions, and inactions, by affirming that there’s always tomorrow.

Saturday, March 8th – The World is Our Apple – Sun, Mercury. Saturday continues with the Gemini Moon and today the Moon squares the Sun and the Moon trines Mercury. We may be slow starting on this Saturday. We might have encountered new ideas, people or possibilities last evening, and we might feel on this Saturday morning pulled in different directions. If plans have already been made for the day, we might have a tinge of resentment that we cannot engage the impulsive and spur-of-the-moment qualities. We may consider all the things that we could do with our time and in our future. Someone could prove a healthy sounding board regarding our infinite list of possibilities. Often we get greater clarity from discussing our ideas and thoughts with someone who can see our situation from an objective perspective, detached and neutral to our mental meanderings. Get-togethers with friends can be a great deal of fun today, and we might find ourselves enjoying the suggestions of other people who may widen our experience and make us aware of alternatives we have not considered for ourselves.

Sunday, March 9th – Good Friends, Good Times – Mars, Neptune. Our lives are made all that much better when shared with a special someone. Relationships may have been dicey over the past few months. Our personal needs vs. the needs of someone else could have created friction or disappointment in our interactions. Perhaps we have been too demanding that other people be more like us than being themselves. Yesterday and today could give us greater appreciation for the unique characteristics of the people in our lives. Sunday has the Gemini Moon trine Mars. The Moon then moves into Cancer where the Moon today trines Neptune. Sunday can be an especially pleasant day. We may look to have some fun times with that special someone in our lives. We want to show them our deep appreciation for who they are and how much they contribute to making our lives worth living. An attitude of gratitude can create a joyful time for all those involved. As the day progresses, we may seek some quiet time to reflect on what has been going on in our lives, the richness of our lives and also to recharge our batteries. Aloneness does not have to mean loneliness, for in the quiet of our own thoughts we can see the rich palette that makes up the masterpiece of our lives.
