This week can be a week of creative celebrations and a cleanup of winter in anticipation of our coming into Spring.
This week is the last full week of winter and, boy, are we ready to see this winter go. Not only has the weather been daunting for many. The energies during this winter have contributed to lethargy, frustrations and simmering anger below the surface, although the anger rising at times with intense explosions.
The week begins like many manic Mondays with curveballs of unexpected situations demanding our attention and getting in the way of our planned activities. We might want to hightail it to our homeland or, at least, to the sanctity of our home base where we can maintain some semblance of control over our circumstances.
Despite the early part of the week having various screwballs tossed our way, let’s not fall into feeling that we are behind the eight ball unable to do anything but react to situations. Even if we feel that our resources are not being fully utilized or our talents are wasted on mundane affairs, we can offer comfort and support to someone who might be having an ever more difficult time than ourselves and make them aware of the process of these times — transformation, where we have to let go of elements of our past in order to have a clear trajectory for new and exciting opportunities to come forward. This is a time for us to let go and let the universe provide new doors for us to walk through. First, we must clear the way of outmoded interests, outdated involvements and obstacles we have created that stand in our way.
The mid-part of this week can get the creative juices flowing. We might feel as if we had awakened from a long winter’s nap or hibernation. We may feel as if we have gained a second wind and desirous of putting our best foot forward and putting our imprint on various projects and different activities than those we are used to.
The end of the week and the weekend may call for straightening up, tidying up and taking care of the details of both our past engagements and setting the foundation stones of creative involvements that have just recently sparked our interest. The weekend comes to closure with the Virgo Full Moon on the day of Purim, a time in Judaism for celebration, to focus on joy and a willingness to give to others less fortunate than ourselves.
Monday, March 10th – Twist and Shout – Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto. Monday starts the week with the Cancer Moon triggering the Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Moon conjuncts Jupiter, the Moon squares Uranus and the Moon opposes Pluto. Whatever our plans for this Monday might be, we may have a few unexpected situations arise that demand our attention. We might prefer to stay by the home fires today, for events in the world could be a little crazy-making. People may be highly emotional today with some real whipsaws, feeling high and mighty and totally confident one moment, then slip, sliding from some of the incidents that could arise taking us down a few notches in our moods. This is a day for us to maintain balance, garner a sense of detachment, do what needs to be done without resenting any curve balls thrown at us and have a sense of bemusement regarding the wackiness in the world that seeps into our personal lives.
Tuesday, March 11th – Getting Out of Our Own Way – Lunar Grand Trine, Sun, Saturn, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury. Yesterday could have had us spinning. On the fast track, we might have felt the twists and turns of yesterday’s frenetic activity led us in circles to the point of exhaustion. Tuesday could prove to be a day of greater reflection, a day when things slow down to the point of the crawl. The Cancer Moon today triggers the Water Grand Trine with the Moon trine the Sun in Pisces and the Moon trine Saturn in Scorpio. The Moon squares Mars before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over six hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer and before entering Leo late today, early Wednesday. Mercury squares Saturn. This is a day for us to take off the blinders, not get locked into our belief systems or our assumptions as to how life works. If we would take a meditative, contemplative approach to this Tuesday, we might come up with some interesting answers as to what is going on in our lives. Just like nature itself being on the threshold of the ending of one yearly cycle and the beginning of a new year, we too are in a mode of letting go of our past to cross into new terrain, much of which could prove unfamiliar to us. We could be frustrated that situations are not moving as fast as we would like. But it would be wise to keep in mind that delays often allow a tempering process, a honing and gestating phase of development prior to manifestation. The universe works, and it works quite well for us, and especially when we get out of our own way. Even if we try to force issues today, we might experience a pushback indicating that those issues just are not ready for further movement. Let’s use this day to trust in the universe and not shoot ourselves in the foot.
Wednesday, March 12th – Doing Our Thing – Venus, Uranus. If someone is relying on us to follow through on our commitments today, they could be sorely disappointed. Wednesday has the Moon in Leo and today the Moon opposes Venus and the Moon trines Uranus. Even if we have scheduled plans for today, we might find that we are far more interested in surprising incidents that grab our attention. We may have gotten a second wind and are looking to present ourselves in a dramatic manner with a great deal of flair. That’s all well and good if the audience were an audience of one, our individual selves. Interactions today could be dicey, for everyone wants to be a star, showcasing their abilities, emphasizing their individuality and doing so without much regard as to how it is received by anyone else. Diplomacy can fly out the window as we focus on our individual wants and interests. Even if we have to go it alone, we do not want to be tethered by other people’s expectations. This is a day when it would be wise for us to cut everyone, including ourselves, some slack, not have heavy expectations but to be flexible and adaptable to surprising conditions. The magic of these times lies in our willingness to be open to receive, to let go of how we perceive the world to be and to always engage the awe and wonder of unexpected developments. We are all transitioning, shapeshifting and transforming, and it is essential that we allow ourselves, and others, to change in accord with the unique natural process.
Thursday, March 13th – Understanding Without Knowing – Saturn, Sun. One of the beauties of these times is the recognition that understanding moves beyond empirical evidence. There are times when we know without knowing, as though our sixth sense is highly attuned to what is really going on, even when the apparent evidence indicates otherwise. Thursday is one of those days when we may feel secure within our understanding yet present an image of not being able to back up or explain what we have come to realize. Today, the Leo Moon squares Saturn and the Sun trines Saturn. We could experience some of those ah-ha moments today, moments when we get it, really get it, as to what is going on and where we are headed. We might not be able to convince other people of our understanding but deep within ourselves we could feel far more solid in regard to our intentions. We do have to watch for trying to win adherents to our cause today, for this is a day when we could project an overbearing tendency. It would be wise for us to keep our cards close to our chest, go about our business and not be concerned about how other people perceive our undertakings.
Friday, March 14th – Gift of Gab – Mercury, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune. Friday has the Leo Moon opposed Mercury and the Moon sextile Mars. Mercury trines Mars. The Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost seven hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before entering Virgo where today the Moon opposes Neptune. This is a day when we could have microphone in hand, polish on our shoes and a passion to impress and win the admiration of someone. Our enthusiasm may know no bounds as we seek to persuade someone of our talents, abilities and devotion. “Enough already” can be heard from those who are overwhelmed by the intensity of persuasion. So much for gentle persuasion, for this day people could be banging each other over the head with supercilious expressions of interest and concern for the other person, when the intent is actually to win one’s way. People can be banging the drum loudly today, but might not realize that the drumbeat is more cacophony than alluring. Everyone may seem to have the gift of gab and especially a length of gab that goes on and on and on.
Saturday, March 15th – Tidying Up – Jupiter, Pluto. Saturday can be a pleasant day to putter around our home, straightening things up and doing a winter cleanout in preparation of Spring. We might consider cleaning our summer lawn furniture, start to put away our heavy winter clothing and gear, all in anticipation of the coming Spring. The Virgo Moon today sextiles Jupiter and the Moon trines Pluto. We can attend to various details that we might have put off until now. This weekend is a good time to attend to errands and to address matters that we do not bring into the next season. Let’s keep in mind that next week with the Vernal Equinox is the beginning of the astrological new year. The more we can clean things up today and tomorrow, the less baggage we have to bring into the new year. This is a day when we can accomplish a great deal, focus on the most meaningful projects and tie up loose ends. New beginnings, and many start this coming week, are best served without a great deal of outdated, past extraneous matters getting in our way.
Sunday, March 16th – Tying Loose Ends with a Pretty Bow – Saturn, Virgo Full Moon, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course. Sunday continues with the Virgo Moon and the weekend clean-up. The Moon sextiles Saturn, and the Moon opposes the Sun at the time of the Virgo Full Moon. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for seven and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before entering Libra later in the day. We can deal with outstanding matters today, but let’s be careful that we don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. Our underlying impulse to move beyond our past and start anew fresh and unencumbered could lead us to getting rid of virtually anything and everything. We may do a strict inventory-taking today to see what we can eliminate from our lives and that which we wish to keep. We may all be feeling the incipient impulse of Spring forthcoming, but let’s be judicious in our clean up and clear out. A hypercritical attitude could pervade our day. We might see things like a half glass of water as half empty rather than half full. We may want to move on from where we have been, move into new terrain, but let’s be wary of the collateral damage we could cause in the process. This is a day for us to curb any liability towards extremism – extreme actions, extreme decisions, extreme feelings. We can tie up loose ends today. Let’s not forget a pretty bow of diplomacy, charm and good intentions.
