This week is a week for us to follow our dreams and engage the possibilities. We may have to do the dance akin to the 1960s dance of the twist due to the twists and turns we might encounter in our week’s journeying.
The week begins with us in an upbeat mood. We may feel confident, supported by our best friends, and willing to consider any thing and every thing. The world is our oyster on which we can sup delightedly, or so we might assume. This thrust of energy can put us into overdrive as we look to slay fire-breathing dragons, climb the highest summits and ford the deepest streams, or just launch some of our intended projects undeterred by the shoals or impediments that could get in our way.
The Aquarius New Moon on Thursday imprints the next two weeks and accentuates our desire for freedom and expressing our individuality. We may call it from the highest rooftop that we are free to be and willing to take the path less traveled. We may have a myriad of possibilities we are considering and we are willing to consider all options and any alternatives. We want change, even just for the sake of change, but we do need to avoid a tendency towards overreach and a liability to fall into a fog of illusions and delusions. We may have our head in the clouds, but it would be wise for us to keep our feet on the ground. Our enthusiasms and intentions may be wonder-filled, but we also need to be aware of our resources and use them sparingly with the long-term in mind.
The weekend could allow for a little [little?] indulgence. In the US, this weekend is Super Bowl weekend, a real blowout of parties and pleasures, the finality of the football season and a Super Bowl that has been given the nicknames of Stoner Bowl and Pot Bowl due to the two teams coming from the only two US states that to date have legalized marijuana. Whether we are toking or not, the weekend could allow for excesses, misty moods and a sense of tuning out from our ordinary, daily realities.
All in all, this week can be a fun week, an opportunity to step off the track of our everyday obligations, put the pedal to the metal of our deepest desires and engage the limitless possibilities of these times.
Monday, January 27th – Imagine the Possibilities – Mars, Mercury. Monday starts the week in an upbeat mood thanks to the Moon transiting Sagittarius and the Moon sextile Mars and the Moon sextile Mercury. Nothing may seem impossible, everything plausible. We are likely to be feeling expansive and optimistic, our attitude enhanced both by our advocates and by the conceptual being far easier to realize in our mind’s eye than in daily practical reality. No parade rainers for us today, for we are confident and entertaining only that which supports our cause. We are interested in engaging only those who form our mutual admiration society. We can lavish encouragement on someone else’s dreams just as we can savor their championing our dreams. This is a day for us to imagine how our future can be in a perfect world. And why not? There are times in our daily existence when we need to step off the track, assume a Walter Mitty-like quality of our ability to conquer any invincible situation, and see ourselves successful and joyful in every aspect of our lives. This Monday is one of those days. We might even step into a fantasy land today, but we shall have lots of company and, besides, we are living in magical times when conditions and circumstances can change dramatically in a nanosecond and more often than not without our interference. This Monday is a day to en joy.
Tuesday, January 28th – Off to See the Wizard – Neptune, Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Pluto, Jupiter, Venus. From the thrust of energy we might have instilled from yesterday’s upbeat and optimistic flavoring, we could set off in the direction of our goals and ambitions on this Tuesday. We may feel as though we have our own personal manifest destiny and one that we can reach with easy sledding, no rocks or bumps to upset our fast movement forward. Isn’t life grand? This Tuesday has the Moon in Capricorn and the Moon today sextiles Neptune. If we will take the time to strategize and plan our day’s actions, all with an understanding of the law of unintended consequences, then we can be far more effective than just venturing forth on a wing and a prayer and a belief that everything will go right in our favor. For while we can engage both our intuitive foresight and a strategic approach, we may find that certain impediments and unexpected situations get in our way as we proceed. For this Tuesday also has the Capricorn Moon triggering the Uranus Pluto square which has been daunting us for a couple of years and with which we should be familiar by now. The Capricorn Moon today conjuncts both Pluto and Venus and the Moon squares Uranus and the Moon opposes Jupiter. No matter how good we might be at the twists and turns in dealing with unanticipated variables, this is a day for us to focus on the truly important and not engage in overreach. From yesterday’s feel good attitude, we might have taken on a sense of irrational self-confidence to the point of believing that we can move mountains and even change the direction of spin of the earth on its axis. Today is a day for us to channel our enthusiasm and concentrate on the most meaningful projects we wish to accomplish. If we plan our day, all with the appreciation that various curve balls could be headed our way during this day, then not only will we be prepared to encounter anything that comes our way but we can also do so effectively and with grace and charm. A little forethought will go a long way towards successful completion of our projects and a winning presentation of our goals. Who needs the wizard when we have our own elements of wizardry?
Wednesday, January 29th – Champing at the Bit – Saturn, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Uranus. We could be in full regalia today but with nowhere to go. The Capricorn Moon today sextiles Saturn and the Moon squares Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for close to twelve hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before entering Aquarius late today, early tomorrow. We are also on the dark side of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s New Moon. The Sun sextiles Uranus, which could give us a preview of the next two weeks. We are looking more towards our future than our past or even our present. We are interested in our being more independent, more autonomous and engaging the most streamlined methods to accomplish as much as possible. This Wednesday is a good day to deal with the details, those little matters that we need to complete in order to avoid tripping over them and over ourselves in the days ahead. Relationships could be a little dicey today. We are not looking for anyone to get in our way or to rain on our parade. We want to do our own thing, spread our wings and have no one clipping our wings as we look to soar into the stratosphere. Even those people who could be our strongest advocates might discourage us from some of our high-flying notions. We are unlikely to hear any of it. We are ready for takeoff. Fortunately for our greater good, some of our best laid plans might not come to fruition, at least today. We may be champing at the bit, wanting to get on with it, but we also have to check ourselves and see whether we are once again trying to control situations or if instead we are willing to be open to the magic of the universe, the miracles during these times. I would suggest opting for the latter, for being a co-creator with the universal unfolding may prove far more successful than our trying to push the envelope and making things happen.
Thursday, January 30th – Off to the Races – Uranus, Aquarius New Moon. Happy New Year! Today is the Chinese New Year, and this new year is the year of the Wood Horse. Yes, we may be off to the races, as the Aquarius New Moon in the Gemini decanate sextiles Uranus and begins a year that like a racehorse can be swift and covering a great deal of ground. We may find that we are exploring and discovering new pathways for ourselves. We might have many activities going on, a willingness and agility to juggle any number of projects. Our activities will have to speak to us, reflect a new characteristic of ourselves with which we have recently become aware, and allow us to do on our own terms and in our own times. This can be an exciting day, fortnight and year for us. We just have to be wary of spreading ourselves too thin. Talk may be much in vogue, although some of the talk might prove idle chatter. And the question could arise as to whether the talk the talk can manifest into walking the talk. Words and thoughts are cheap but the follow through more difficult. We could spend our time in lofty discussions today, pontificating on the what could be, the what ifs and the idyllic situation in an ideal world. Let’s not waste this day, for this is a day when we can lay down the foundation stones of our future, and a future that is far more reflective of whom we are becoming rather than where we have been.
Friday, January 31st – To the Max and Beyond – Saturn, Mars, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Jupiter, Pluto, Mercury Pisces, Venus direct. Friday can be one high energy day. It’s the start of the weekend, and in the US possibly a self-determined long weekend for many, as they prepare [?] for the Super Bowl, which this year is also being referred to as the Stoner Bowl and the Pot Bowl since both teams hail from the only two US states that have legalized marijuana to date. And, for good measure, there is talk as I write that a major snowstorm could impact the date or locale of this year’s Super Bowl. Friday has the Moon in Aquarius square Saturn and the Moon trine Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eleven hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before entering Pisces late today, early tomorrow. In addition, this Friday has Jupiter opposed Pluto, Mercury exiting Aquarius to enter Pisces where Mercury is in Detriment and not comfortable, and Venus turning direct. As the Moon comes into Pisces, the Moon conjuncts Mercury. A great deal can be happening today, and much of it done in starts and stops. We might be looking to impress someone today, generous to a fault and liable to fall into excessive expenditures. The more we can be resourceful, the better it would be. Such advice might go unheeded, for this is a day when we are likely to want to go to the max and ever beyond. Due diligence is suggested, also likely unheeded. There can be a tendency to engage a ‘live for the day’ attitude to this Friday, and we could easily put additional dents into our credit card balances and ratchet up our debt load. Clarity may be lacking, and we might be led by our emotions than our reason. Let’s be wary of those images and appearances that seduce us into indulgence and foggy thinking. If we dance to the music, we may have to pay to the piper, so moderation is called for today, although also likely unheeded.
Saturday, February 1st – Good Times – Neptune, Jupiter, Pluto, Venus. While we may be all fiddling as the Uranus Pluto square continues its helter skelter impacts of various conflagrations around the globe, our euphoria might not be dampened. This Saturday allows us to be in a world of our own, even if that world turns out to be illusional or downright delusional. In the larger realm, it may seem as though people are dancing on the Titanic, but in our personal worlds we can find those healthy escapes of indulgences and good times. Saturday has the Pisces Moon conjunct Neptune, the Moon trine Jupiter, the Moon sextile both Pluto and Venus. In the US, this weekend is Super Bowl weekend and whether we engage the festivities around the game or not, we are certainly looking to be festive, party on and have us some good times. We can be highly moody today, but we might also use the day to focus on home and family matters, straightening things up and quite possibly shoring up our personal fortifications against the howling winds of radical change outside our four walls. The funny thing is that we are looking for change, personal change, a willingness and even desire to take machete in hand and carve our own personal pathway of creativity and self-expression. We have become somewhat accustomed to the zaniness of the powers-that-be, and we have come to terms with the reality that there is no functional engineer on the runaway train of the traditional societal institutions of government, finance, commerce, law, religion and all the other old institutional models that seem to be creaking under the weight of their dysfunctionality during this paradigm shift. This Saturday and this weekend may afford us the opportunity to play out the lyrics of the classic Peggy Lee song with its refrain:
“If that’s all there is my friends, then let’s keep dancing
Let’s break out the booze and have a ball”
Sunday, February 2nd – The Stoner Bowl or Not – Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course. Sunday is the day scheduled for the Super Bowl in the US. I write scheduled, for there is talk of changing day or locale due to the chance of a snowstorm. Nice foresight in planning, nice machismo in playing the game under possible adverse conditions [sarcasm indicated]. Super Bowl Sunday is often a blow-out for sports-observing aficionados, that day when people spend lavishly to party and enjoy the festivities, whether in person or at their local pub. After this Sunday, the winter blues hit hard and a veil of depression often falls upon the land. One would think that with all the hoop-la around this Sunday, the day should be highly energetic planet-wise. Not so much today! This Sunday has the Pisces Moon trine Saturn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over twelve hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before entering Aries late today, early Monday. This day allows us to continue our long weekend journey into escapism, to tuning out to our everyday realities and engage in a long partying of good times with good friends. We might even be toking in observance of the two Super Bowl teams being from the only two states that have legalized marijuana, which has given this Super Bowl the nicknames of the Stoner Bowl and the Pot Bowl. Escapism, we gotta love it. For those of us with recall of historical conditions, these times often seem reminiscent of the roaring ‘20s. For those who do not engage in the bread and circus of these times, we may find ourselves straightening up, tidying up and putting our house in order.
