This week may be a highly emotional week with mood swings going between extremes. We can feel up, down and spun all around.
The week may be off to a fast start with our eyes focused more on our future plans than the responsibilities at hand. We might be here, there and everywhere, juggling various activities but without getting much done. Our thoughts could be elsewhere, lost in our own neverland and not wanting to be disturbed by any one or by our routine obligations.
Often, after the winter holidays, there is a certain letdown, an existential sense of despair. And we could be feeling it this week, punctuated by the Cancer Full Moon on Wednesday-Thursday.
The early part of the week can have us performing busy work and seeking the safety of our home base.
Towards the end of the week, we might be looking for some funny and healthy diversions. If we get off the track of our daily normal route, we might gain a fresh perspective and even be able to get some insights and understandings that being locked into our usual patterns might not allow for. Whatever distraction we can engage towards the end of the week, the better it would be, for it may be in those new and different environments that we can garner some ‘ah-ha’ moments and come to realize options that we do not normally consider for ourselves.
The weekend may have us dealing with errands and tasks that we have put aside. We could have gained a second wind, able to diminish our emotional despair.
The weekend ends with the Sun exiting Capricorn to enter Aquarius. We are moving into a time when we can celebrate limitless possibilities.
Monday, January 13th – Run Around – Moon Void-of-Course. Monday begins with the Gemini Moon being Void-of-Course. This Void-of-Course Moon that began yesterday with the Gemini Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini and before entering Cancer late on this Monday is almost twenty-seven hours long. We may feel harried with a sense of things to be done but a liability to juggling various matters without getting a whole lot done. We could exhaust ourselves by running in place today. Whatever we take on today, it would be wise for us to be certain that we are covering all the bases and not merely glossing over our activities. This is a day when we could involve ourselves with busy work, feeling that we have to do some thing, any thing just to have a so-called sense of purpose. Let’s not wear ourselves out by justifying actions that may eventually lead nowhere. Telephone calls, plans for the future might be the best use of today’s energy.
Tuesday, January 14th – Paved with Good Intentions – Neptune, Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Pluto. Tuesday has the Moon in Cancer with the Moon trine Neptune and the Moon triggering the Uranus Pluto square with the Moon creating a T-Square by the Moon square Uranus and the Moon opposed Pluto. The old saying that ‘the pathway to hell is paved with good intentions’ could be evidenced on this Tuesday. We might begin this day inspired and devoted to good causes, or what we assume to be a good cause. Unfortunately, there are times when what we see in our mind’s eye as justifiable right actions turn out to be anything but in practical reality. We could start this day intent on doing certain projects, engaging particular activities and all with a good motive. No matter how well planned our day might be, we could find ourselves running into various impediments along the way. Other people may not see our plans as being quite so admirable and instead might even consider us delusional. We could find that we are running into various roadblocks as we proceed through this day. Tuesday is a day to keep in mind that these times demand that we be nimble and quick and able to circumnavigate any obstacles in our way. We do not always have to confront direct blockages. We can often find a way around them. Today is a day for us to be adept and astute in finding ways around anything that might stand in our way.
Wednesday, January 15th – Wringing Our Hands – Cancer Full Moon, Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Mars, Venus, Sun, Saturn. We bumped up against a Lunar T-Square yesterday and may have found unexpected situations slowing us down at best, blocking our forward movement at worst. This Wednesday raises the bar of emotion even higher. Today has the Cancer Full Moon and the Moon triggering another Lunar T-Square with the Cancer Moon conjunct Jupiter, the Moon square Mars, the Moon opposed both the Sun and Venus, and the Moon trine Saturn. Our moods can go through a real whipsaw today, from a sense of exuberance and manifest destiny to a feeling of advocates turning to adversaries. This is a day when we can carom between a belief in being the savior to being the martyr. We have to be wary that our emotions don’t get out of hand. Not only can we exhaust ourselves by the wide swings in our feelings today, but we could also create consternation for those we care about and who care about us. More than once today, we might be telling ourselves or someone else to ‘get a grip’. This is a highly emotional day when reason and focused intent can go out the window. We might find the best course of action today would be to rely upon the ‘tried and true’, even if our fall back is on actions that have been tried but no longer true.
Thursday, January 16th – We Gotta Get Out of this Place – Venus, Mars. The Moon moves into Leo today and Venus squares Mars. After the past two days when we might have felt like the camel trying to squeeze through the eye of the needle without much effect or great success, this Thursday is a day when we might be looking for some healthy diversions, distractions that are engaging, fun activities and can enliven us once again. The past two days may have been an intense emotional vortex that had few happy outcomes. We might have felt as though we were prey to circumstances beyond our control. Thursday allows us to get a handle on things, although the things we might be looking towards are more pleasurable pursuits. A ‘time out’ could be called for on this Thursday, seeking out fun activities. Even if we are looking for others to join in with us, we might have to go it alone. Some people will be more involved with their routine activities, even if those routine activities seem like Sisyphus rolling a boulder up the mountain. Other people could be a little critical, even hypercritical today, so let’s be aware that relationships today can be a little dicey. Too many people may be seeing the half glass of water as half empty rather than half full. Someone could make judgmental pronouncements today, so it might be wise for us to get off the beaten path and take our walk alone. Today is a day for us to recharge our batteries, regroup and not be subject to someone else’s judgments.
Friday, January 17th – Startling Opportunities – Uranus, Mercury, Mars. The Leo Moon today trines Uranus, the Moon opposes Mercury and the Moon sextiles Mars. Mercury sextiles Uranus. This day is a day when we can put our best foot forward, present ourselves in a dramatic and creative manner and be open to some surprising developments. Our mind is insightful, able to think outside the box and come up with a streamlined means to reach some interesting goal. Solutions to perplexing problems can come easily, and we might find that things fall neatly into place with little effort on our part. Magic is in the air today, so it would be wise for us to have our antennae up, work with peripheral vision and be open to the possibilities, even those that are seemingly impossible. We might have some intriguing encounters today. We just have to avoid getting in our own way. This is a day for us to be flexible and adaptable, willing to change our course at a moment’s notice and in favor of whatever whim might catch our fancy. This is not a time for us to be fixed or rigid or assume that we know best. Let’s engage this day with the awe and wonder of a small child. We might be pleasantly amazed by what can come forward unexpectedly.
Saturday, January 18th – Waiting for Godot – Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course. Saturday begins with the Leo Moon square Saturn. We might have blown our good fortune yesterday, but what a day Friday might have been. As long as we did not have our blinders on, looking only at what was straight ahead of us and focused solely on our having control over our schedule; Friday could have been quite a walk in the park, a journeying through magical times with various mini-miracles popping up. We might assume that everyday can be like Friday, but that’s just not the way the universe works. Universal unfolding has cycles, phases like the tides of ebbs and flows, times where things develop as though on greased wheels, other times when the way is hard going and other times when things are delayed, stagnant with little movement whatsoever. After what might have been a thrilling Friday for us, this Saturday seems a lot less eventful. After the Moon squares Saturn early in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for sixteen and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before entering Virgo late in the day. While there is not quite the high energy of yesterday on this Saturday, we can get back in our groove of scheduled events, enjoy ourselves but without the magic popping all around us. This Saturday can be a fun day but there just is not a great deal of energy today. We might take in a film, visit a museum or go to the mall today. We are not looking at pushing ourselves and even if we are expectant of some of yesterday’s magic, we might find ourselves hanging out and waiting for Godot.
Sunday, January 19th – Attending to the Details – Neptune, Pluto, Jupiter, Sun Aquarius. Sunday closes out the week with the Moon in Virgo and the Moon today opposes Neptune, the Moon trines Pluto and the Moon sextiles Jupiter. The Sun ends its transit of Capricorn and enters Aquarius. This is a day when we can focus on the most important details of our lives and bring resolution to various matters. We may need a game plan to avoid going on overwhelm today. We can be highly productive today, getting rid of the extraneous in our lives, straightening things up and clearing things out. The more we can rid ourselves of matters that we do not want hanging over our heads, the more space for new interests to develop. The universe does not like a vacuum. When space is open, new things can come forward to fill that space. We are looking more towards our future now, wanting to tie up loose ends of our past. This can be a highly effective day to do what needs to be done in order to provide the room for us to explore the possibilities for our future.
