This week can provide us with some interesting insights into new directions we might consider for future expansionary plans.
Not only are we feeling enthusiastic about our prospects. We are also willing to think outside the box and take into account variables and possibilities we might not normally entertain. We are interested in developing new trajectories for ourselves, trajectories that provide us greater freedom in our movement, greater autonomy in our actions. We are not looking at rushing the river. On the contrary, we are excited but not foolhardy.
Similar to a mountain climber, we are willing to establish our base camp, secure our position and then start the trek up the mountainside towards the summit. We might not even engage our journey until after the first of the year, but the scintillating thoughts of what we could do in our future can contribute to our thought processes and our planning stages.
One thing we may have learned during the topsy-turvy times that we have all been going through is the fact that things can change radically and dramatically in a nanosecond of time. And the changes, while perhaps disconcerting, do not have to be negative unfoldings but rather positive circumstances.
As the week progresses, we may take our enthusiasm and channel it into expressions of appreciation and gratitude to the people who grace our lives. Holiday wishes and social get-togethers are fun parts of this time of year. Even if we choose not to engage the consumer-driven holiday spending and gift-giving, we can still share our loving spirits with those we encounter on a daily basis and those with whom we touch base only occasionally.
The weekend may be a mix of shopping and round robin get-togethers. We may not stay in any one place too long, but we are fully engaged in the kaleidoscope of sights and sounds of these holiday times.
This week can be an enjoyable week, especially if we will hold in thought some of the ideas and thoughts that can spring into our minds. We may discover, once again, that we do not have to do it all, but it is suggested that we work with peripheral vision and keep our antennae up for those magical moments and auspicious wonders of these times.
Monday, December 9th – Quietly Persevering – Sun, Lunar Grand Trine, Saturn, Jupiter. Monday begins the week with the Moon in Pisces. The Moon squares the Sun and the Moon triggers the Water Grand Trine with the Moon trine Saturn in Scorpio and the Moon trine Jupiter in Cancer. While much of our inner drive now is towards expanding our projects and broadening our reach, today is a day when we might allow ourselves to go gently forward, proceeding with enthusiasm and due diligence but without banging the drum loudly. Much can be accomplished on this Monday and ever more so by our doing what needs to be done without fanfare, without seeking adulation. We might prefer to move beyond our present parameters, but this Monday is better served by dealing with our responsibilities, fine-tuning our approach and recognizing that the realizations of our goals is done one step at a time. Today is a day for step by step instead of gigantic leaps. We may have a subtle confidence in our abilities and proceed with determination and enthusiasm towards the realization of our dreams. We might even notice that the way is being paved and made easy for us by the universe clearing obstacles in our way and greasing the wheels of our efforts.
Tuesday, December 10th – Eureka, Archimedes – Venus, Mars, Mercury, Uranus. Tuesday begins with the Pisces Moon sextile Venus. If we would step back from our active, hectic lives, we might see how much we have been able to accomplish, with a little help from our friends of universal unfoldings. We could appreciate the fact that various things are fitting neatly into place, all without much strain or even much effort. The Moon moves into Aries where today the Moon opposes Mars and later the Moon conjuncts Uranus. Mercury trines Uranus. Even though we might see things falling neatly into place, we have to be wary that we don’t try to ‘rush the river’ or move things ahead too far, too fast. One of the great challenges for all of us during these times is falling back into the old mindset of being in control of our circumstances, being the master of our world. An old habit pattern for many of us is the tendency to push further ahead than appropriate when things are going our way. Too often, we get into our own way and flummox all the good that has been developing in our own lives. The sense of balance between our personal involvement and the natural unfolding in our lives is a hard one to maintain, especially since we have all been conditioned into the belief that to have things happen we have to make them happen. If we go there today and focus on our pride of control and mastery, we might lose sight of some of the real opportunities that arise unexpectedly today. This is a day when we might receive some of those ‘Eureka!’ moments, those times of remarkable insight and extraordinary understanding. If we would not get too absorbed in our self-congratulations, we could perceive new doors opening to us, new opportunities coming forward. There is magic in the air today, and we need to be open to see and receive. We can witness evidence of the new paradigm, replete with magic and mini-miracles. As Dorothy says to Toto in The Wizard of Oz: ‘I’ve a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore.’
Wednesday, December 11th – Avoiding the Headstrong – Mercury, Sun, Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Jupiter. One of the beauties of astrology is the recognition and appreciation of cycles, those swings between highs and lows, the ebbs and flows of universal tides. Yesterday, could have had us experiencing some serendipitous moments, times of wondrous situations coming out of the blue and a sense that the tide has turned with us able to surf the crest of the waves, indefinitely. Like any surfer though, the crest lasts only so long until the wave crashes onto the shore. Building upon yesterday’s tweaks of magic and mini-miracles, we might assume that we can continue unobstructed and with no obstacles in our way. The Aries Moon today trines both Mercury and the Sun. We may really go for it, assume that the force is with us and that we can move easily and quickly ahead with no pushback. Nice concept, which may play in our mind’s eye and our enhanced enthusiasm and confidence, but such a concept may not be fully functional in today’s energy patterns. While we have this sense of exuberance spurring us on, we also have the Aries Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Aries Moon square Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon square Jupiter in Cancer. If we do not ride the wave with us being fully conscious of the patterns and the signs along the way, we could experience a nasty wipeout. Although we might have had a sense that we could push forward with no resistance, we may find ourselves banging up against restraints and restrictions that can pull out the rug from under us. Family responsibilities and our daily obligations could get in the way of our advancing into new directions today. It would be far better for us to attend to outstanding matters rather than just putting them on the back burner, for whether we deal with them today or allow them to fester until we have to deal with them in the days ahead, there is no getting around addressing matters that need to be resolved before we can proceed unencumbered. Let’s envision where we want to go while taking care of impediments that could otherwise stand in our way.
Thursday, December 12th – Expansion and Compression Neatly Combined – Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune, Jupiter, Saturn. Thursday begins with the Aries Moon square Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for five hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before entering Taurus where today the Moon sextiles Neptune. Jupiter trines Saturn. We may start the day having to hear from a naysayer. Someone might be stepping on our toes by raising issues with our plans. If we do not personalize criticism and take what is said to us on a more detached and objective level, we could find that the person’s comments might prove valid critiques with solid suggestions. The energy of the day then quiets down for a brief interlude, during which we can consider what step to take next. The interesting aspect to this day is that if we don’t rush headlong forward and can utilize constructive criticism, we can temper our enthusiasm and come up with a best practices approach by which we can expand our activities without overdoing and also draw upon an intuitive sense regarding the most effective direction. This is a day when we can broaden our reach in the most resourceful manner possible. It is all a question of balance and trusting the process.
Friday, December 13th – Strong Foundations – Pluto. Friday the 13th may recall memories of the killing rampages of Jason in all the various Friday the 13th horror movies franchise. But this Friday the 13th seems quite sedate in comparison. The Taurus Moon trines Pluto. Even those afflicted with paraskevidekatriaphobia [the fear of Friday the 13th] may have little to fear on this particular Friday the 13th. On the contrary, we may be focused and determined, looking to put down solid foundations and establishing a best practices approach to our most important interests. We can see the big picture without losing sight of the specifics. This is a good day for us to concentrate on our holiday shopping, tie up loose ends of outstanding matters that we would like to complete before year’s end and give thought to our plans for the new year. We are not interested in the shallow or superficial today. We are devoted to the most meaningful aspects of our lives and those involvements that provide us a real sense of purpose. We can accomplish a great deal today and have the weekend for merry-making.
Saturday, December 14th – Be Wary of Extravagance – Jupiter, Saturn, Venus. We are fast approaching Christmas, eleven days away. With today’s Taurus Moon sextile Jupiter, Moon opposed Saturn and Moon trine Venus, we could be looking at hitting the stores and the malls for those presents intended to impress. Let’s avoid being mauled by extravagance and overspending. With a desire to spread cheer, all the while seeking appreciation for what we may purchase someone as a holiday gift, we might bend our budget and find ourselves entangled in a holiday shopping spree. Seduced by sparkling decorations, upbeat holiday background music and the rush of bargain shopping crowds, we could get caught in the frenzy and find ourselves swept along in the consumer spending madness. This is a day for us to use braking action, avoid impulse purchases and budget our time and monies. This time of year has stores and malls akin to Las Vegas casinos where we lose track of time and space to the lights and sounds hypnotizing us to plunk down our hard-earned monies just a little bit more. If can maintain resourcefulness, we can make things look pretty and appealing without breaking the bank.
Sunday, December 15th – Touching Base – Neptune, Mars, Uranus. Sunday has the Moon in Gemini, and today the Moon squares Neptune, the Moon trines Mars and the Moon sextiles Uranus. We might be in high gear today, although like wrong way Corrigan we might not be clear about our direction. As we start the day, we could feel a little overwhelmed, on overload, with all that we perceive we need and want to get done. Even if we are slow starting as we begin the day, spinning our wheels or darting in this direction then that direction, once we get going there may be no stopping us. This is a day that is better utilized with a full list of activities and intentions. It is also a day when we need to spread ourselves wide but with little time spent on each activity or involvement. This Sunday is not a day to linger. We may be rushing around today, but we can cover many bases by going from one thing to another, alighting briefly, before we are off to the next thing, alighting again briefly, then on our way again. We might touch base with a great number of people today, but our conversations and interactions may be brief but significant nonetheless. Even if we have a full plate of plans for this day, there can be some interesting serendipitous, synchronistic happenings, where wonderful surprises come up out of the blue. An exciting day, this Sunday, and one when we may be highly energized. So much for Sunday being a day of rest, not this Sunday.
