Despite the spirit of Christmas holidays, this week could trigger an intense two-week period. This intensity may not all be associated with the holiday rush of shopping and celebrating and family get-togethers and social gatherings.
The week begins with us in preparation mode — preparing for Christmas, preparing for holiday events, and preparing various matters that we need to get out of the way in order to fully participate in the festivities. We can tie up various loose ends and straighten things out at the beginning of the week.
The mid-week has us getting together with friends, neighbors and relatives. We do have to be wary of impetuous actions for we may be trying to cover so many bases that we trip ourselves up and become accident-prone.
Much is going on Christmas Day itself, and various incidents could occur while we are not looking, engaged in our holiday revelries. This is also the day that begins an intense two-week period when we have to have our eyes wide open and be nimble and quick to avoid any serious mishaps.
The end of the week and the weekend could be a time of regrouping. We may feel exhausted by the run-up to the holidays and the holidays themselves with us now peering at new year’s celebrations coming up this next week.
The weekend could be a time for us to recharge briefly before we are at it again, priming for more festivities, more holiday celebrations.
This week can have various curve balls thrown at us — unexpected situations that force us to be nimble and quick to avoid risky behavior with unintended consequences.
Monday, December 23rd – Elves at Work – Pluto. No matter how we deal with holidays, they often throw a monkey wrench into our daily scheduled routine. Whether we have already taken our ‘time out’ for Christmas or are finishing routine matters before this Wednesday, we may feel called upon to be highly productive today, finishing up various matters and taking care of routine chores before Christmas day on Wednesday. The Virgo Moon today trines Pluto. If we focus on the most important matters to deal with, we can get more done in a shorter period of time than usual. This is a highly productive day, a day when we can utilize a best practices approach to do what needs to be done. We can strip away many of the superfluous activities, engage effective time management techniques and accomplish a great deal. Even if we feel that we are on overload, our persistence and determination today can virtually move mountains. Even if we were primarily concerned about our holiday time today, it would still be wise for us to give thought to our personal ambitions and the ways by which we can achieve our goals.
Tuesday, December 24th – In the Still of the Night – Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Sun, Neptune, Mercury Capricorn. There is something about Christmas Eve that supersedes even Christmas Day itself. After all the thrust of energy spent in the earlier few weeks, this day often seems like finishing a marathon with the sprint run and now a sense of elation over what we have done. I have always found Christmas Eve to be a magical time, a time when the dimensions truly break down, and we feel a sense of greater connection to other dimensions. A sense of peace comes over us, and this Tuesday may be no different. We may feel as though all the preparations we have made and can make for tomorrow’s gatherings are done. Even if we feel exhausted to the run-up to tomorrow, today gives us those moments of ‘grace’ when we have the ability to touch base with our spiritual side. This Tuesday contines with the Virgo Moon, and today the Moon sextiles Jupiter, the Moon sextiles Saturn and the Moon trines Venus. The Sun sextiles Neptune and Mercury exits Sagittarius to enter Capricorn. We can put the finishing touches to our holiday preparations, but we may also find that in our getting together with family and friends, there is truly a sense of good will and a sense of spiritual connectedness with other people. No matter how the commercialists try to make Christmas all about shopping, spending and gorging, often to excess, there is something about this day when we can touch base with our inner self, that spiritual aspect of ourselves that we often lose track of during our everyday involvements. We are usually too busy doing life to connect with our inner purpose of living. Today is a day when we can reacquaint ourselves with that inner being of ourselves.
Wednesday, December 25th – Twists and Turns with a Distinct Flavor – Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Sun, Uranus, Mars, Pluto. Merry Christmas! Even though today is Christmas, a day when we normally assume the ability to step off the track, engage friends and family in social get-togethers, and relax around home fires burning, this Wednesday could prove less than placid. On the contrary, the energy today ratchets up the intensity and begins a ten day to two week period that could be exaggerated with extreme actions and possible accidents sprinkled along the way. The Moon in Libra today triggers the Cardinal Sign Grand Cross with a T-Square by means of the Libra Moon conjunct Mars, the Moon opposed Uranus in Aries and the Moon square the Capricorn-transiting planets of Mercury, the Sun and Pluto. Added to this flare-up of energies, Mars opposes Uranus. While we are engaged in our merry-making, things on the world stage could get heated up, with various attacks and unexpected incidents throwing a damper on the day. In our personal worlds, we have to be wary that someone does not become belligerent, obstreperous and a nuisance to our festive times. With the emphasis on Cardinal Signs, there can be a great deal of movement, action, and beginnings. We just have to watch with ratcheting the energy up to avoid accidents and irrational behavior. No matter how aggravated the day may be, let’s bear in mind the spirit of the day — celebrating the birth of light in the darkness, the coming Christos. Merry Christmas!
Thursday, December 26th – Back At It – Jupiter, Mercury, Neptune. Even if we stepped off the track yesterday, we might have found ourselves in a blender being stirred, chopped and liquefied — maybe not literally, more likely figuratively. Yesterday had a great deal of energy operating, much of it coming about in the most unexpected ways. Yesterday also kicked off a ten day period when we might not know whether we are coming or going, knowing only that we are in deed in continual process. This Thursday continues the triggering of the Cardinal Sign Grand Cross with the Libra Moon today square Jupiter in Cancer. Mercury sextiles Neptune. This is a day when many people may hit the stores and the malls looking for those after-Christmas sales bargains. We could also find ourselves engaging some slight indulgences. The holidays seem to offer us license to indulge in sweets, spirits and copious food, even to the point of excess. If we do not get caught up in the frenzy of keeping on with holiday celebrations, this day can be one when our intuitive sense is strong. We may have a feeling of the right approach to attaining our goals. Conversations with other people can give us hints as to how we can best fashion some of our plans. This Thursday can be a highly pleasant day so long as we do not overdo it.
Friday, December 27th – Clearing the Debris – Venus, Neptune, Mercury, Sun. Friday begins with the Libra Moon square Venus. The Moon then enters Scorpio, where today the Moon trines Neptune, the Moon sextiles Mercury and the Moon sextiles the Sun. We might begin the day slightly irritated with someone. Perhaps our Christmas plans did not go according to our wishes. We might feel that someone rained on our parade, or stomped on our feelings. Any way we slice it, we could find ourselves seeking some alone time, time to reflect on what has gone on and make plans for our days ahead. Getting out into nature, down by the water can be soothing to our soul. We may have had enough of all the sparkly glitz of these holiday times. And we might want to straighten up things, get rid of the clutter and get back to a semblance of focused intent. Friday could be a day when we hold our cards close to our chest, do things without public broadcast and take care of simplifying our lives. Let’s keep in mind the metronome of these times, when we can swing from excess and too much to sparse and less. We are coming toward the end of the year. Today and tomorrow would be good days to get our house in order and tie up loose ends of this passing year that we would prefer not to bring into 2014. Even if we have social obligations, we might choose to keep them short and brief. This is a day for us to reflect, contemplate and clear away.
Saturday, December 28th – Clean Up Continues – Pluto, Jupiter, Saturn. Friday and Saturday are days when we might choose to rid ourselves of the extraneous stuff that only blocks our way. Even if we keep our holiday decorations up, we are likely to be getting rid of paper, boxes and superfluous stuff that we just don’t want. Some people may use this Friday and Saturday to go back to the malls and return items that they just have no use for. This Saturday has the Scorpio Moon sextile Pluto, the Moon trine Jupiter and the Moon conjunct Saturn. If we have put aside some of our responsibilities in order to participate in holiday celebrations, this Saturday could be a day of catch-up with our ‘to do’ list. If we would plan out our day, we could accomplish a great deal. We can reconfigure our home, putting things back in place, getting rid of the garbage and enjoying some quiet moments by the home fires burning. Our moods can swing from exuberance to disappointment today. Let’s be wary of whipsaws of emotion. Planning our day and focusing on what we feel we need to get done will help clear the path for new adventures to bring in the new year.
Sunday, December 29th – It Ain’t What it Should Be – Venus, Neptune, Sun, Mercury, Uranus. Sunday could have us feeling out of sorts. The day begins with the Scorpio Moon sextile Venus. The Moon then goes into Sagittarius where today the Moon squares Neptune. The Sun conjuncts Mercury and Mercury squares Uranus. Even if we have plans for this day, our plans may go awry. Screwy things can occur on this Sunday. There can be communication problems, travel difficulties and misunderstandings and mishaps occurring today. The early part of the day can be far more pleasant. We may deal with necessary obligations, take care of what needs to be done. We then might feel that we have accounted for everything that we had to do, only to find that a blank slate of what to do next becomes both convoluted and a trying process of miscues. This day has an energy configuration that is my least favorite for travel, especially air travel – Mercury square Uranus. Either there can be misunderstandings and misreads, or we might find ourselves going in one direction when we intended to go in some other direction. This is a day for us to slow things down, not get too expansive in regard to what we want to do, and allow for the vagaries of these times to be operational. Even if we are clear regarding what we want to do today, unanticipated variables could arise that lead us astray. This is a day for us to maintain awareness and be mindful and in the process be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstance and information.
