October 28th – November 3rd, 2013

This week may be slow starting. The energy is likely to pick up as we head into the weekend. Much of our focus this week will be attending to the details of our lives — our tasks, our obligations, our responsibilities. We have the opportunity of putting things in their right order, at least during the earlier part of this week.

If we would stay focused on what needs to be done, we can accomplish a great deal. We might have to put some of our plans for our future to the side as we deal with what is right in front of us. We might take advice from Emily Dickinson who wrote: “If you take care of the small things, the big things take care of themselves.”

This week also has us moving from October into November. As we come into November, the energy of the week shifts dramatically. The pleasantries and effectiveness of earlier in the week drops away with great intensity engaged.

The Uranus Pluto square that has dogged us since 2012 and will continue to challenge us into 2015 is exact on the 1st of November, this Friday. Change is in the air, as aspects of our lives go through the crash and burns of transformational times. Earthquakes, whether physical or emotional or a combination of the two, can wreak havoc at this time. We may feel as though the rug is being pulled out from under us. With Mercury retrograde, however, we might not be fully clear about what is really going on. What we may come to recognize is the world, our world, is not the way it has been and is unlikely ever to be the same.

The weekend comes to a close with a Solar Eclipse at the time of the Scorpio New Moon, within orb of a conjunction to Saturn. This can kick off a two-week period when we may feel helpless against the vagaries of these times. We might feel victim to the vicissitudes of changing times, unable to comprehend what is really happening but realizing that the earth is moving under our feet. We could come to know that stability and security are no longer a stasis but rather a dynamic whereby we have to be secure within ourselves while the world goes whirling out of our control.

We may witness the key aspect of this paradigm shift: we are no longer in control of circumstances [as if we ever truly were] and that life is changing in an asequential manner, no longer the assumed belief of linear progression with its beginnings, middles and ends, all neatly tied up in conclusions and resolutions. Those times are past. We have entered the continuum of process where there are no beginnings, no endings, just shapeshiftings, transitions and transformations, all going on and on.

We may want to use the early part of the week to attend to what we need to get done, spend quality time with those special people in our lives and then as we approach the weekend fasten our seat belts for the bumpy ride of inexplicable incidents and extraordinary events.

Monday, October 28th – The Big Easy – Venus, Moon Void-of-Course. We might have chosen a weekend of fun, good times and indulgences. No matter what we did over the weekend, we might find ourselves getting a slow start on this Monday morning. We might far prefer to let the good times roll, for the day begins with the Leo Moon trine Venus. If we can engage people far afield or foreign to our experience, it would give added luster to our lives. We want excitement and to feel enlivened. Often, we assume the grass to be far greener somewhere other than under our own two feet. This Monday could give us that sense. Even if we have things to do on this Monday, our thoughts may be somewhere else. We would far prefer to imagine idyllic getaways rather than our everyday conditions. As the day progresses, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over fifteen hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before entering Virgo late today, early Tuesday. This Monday is best suited for a ‘big easy’, taking our time, giving our imagination full rein and just enjoying ourselves. We do not want to put pressure on ourselves today, but that does not mean that our ‘to do’ list isn’t going to increase in number while we dream the day away.

Tuesday, October 29th – Once in Gear, Focused Resourcefulness – Neptune, Sun, Mars, Mercury, Saturn, Pluto. The day begins with the Moon in Virgo opposed Neptune. We may be slightly confused as to how to start this day. We might have some grand plans, but we could also be distracted by the many possibilities. It would be wise for us to take our time, determine what we want to do today and how we want to do it and then proceed in a calculated and determined manner. Once in gear, we can be incredibly focused. The Moon sextiles the Sun, the Moon conjuncts Mars and the Moon trines Pluto. Mercury conjuncts Saturn. If we don’t get depressed by circumstances or have our desires too grandiose today, we could be highly resourceful. We can accomplish a great amount in the most expeditious manner. This is a day for us not to be run by our emotions but rather our determination. Tuesday through Thursday can be highly productive days, and we could get more done on these three days than usual. We may want to put on blinders and concentrate on our most pressing demands. We might come up with the most streamlined ways of getting things done.

Wednesday, October 30th – More with Less – Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter, Venus. Wednesday continues with our ability to accomplish much in a relatively short period of time and to do more with less resources. Today, the Virgo Moon sextiles Mercury, the Moon sextiles Saturn, the Moon sextiles Jupiter and the Moon squares Venus. To some people, we might seem parsimonious but in fact we are likely to be wise stewards of our resources. This is one of those days when we can virtually squeeze blood out of a stone. We can be highly productive and fully effective with little expenditure of energy, finances or time. We have it going on during this Tuesday through Thursday. We might even surprise ourselves how we can achieve so much with what we might have considered limited resources. If we are shopping today, we are likely to find bargains. Our mind is focused and we might even enjoy the idea that we can create incredible extravaganzas without breaking the bank. This is a day when less is more and we can get more done with less. Let’s keep in mind how successful we are on these three days, record it and draw upon it in the days ahead. We do not have to show boat or grandstand but can be spot on by engaging our talents and limiting our outlays.

Thursday, October 31st – Treats Today, Tricks Tomorrow – Mars, Pluto. The Moon exits Virgo and enters Libra today. Mars trines Pluto. This Thursday is Halloween, a day when children of all ages go out and ‘trick or treat’. There are likely no tricks today, only treats. We may see evidence of our past two days and how effective we have been. This is a day for social get-togethers, enjoying the company of those special people in our lives and winning the accolades from those impressed by how well we have done under our present circumstances. The past two days could have had us focused on dealing with our necessities, concentrating on the details but effectively handling the various responsibilities in our lives. Both our own witness to our accomplishments and the admiration from other people can power our determination and passion to reach for the stars. We may feel impelled to put our energy towards our greatest goals, our heartfelt ambitions. We may have a sense of power and drive that seems unstoppable. We are not looking to best other people, rather we are looking at expressing our personal best. This mid-week period is a time to ‘make hay while the sun shines’. Not only can we achieve a great deal and do so successfully. We might also find that the greased wheels and our own elbow grease have been highly effective in getting so much done. The next three days may prove less so.

Friday, November 1st – Bait and Switch – Lunar Grand Cross, Pluto, Uranus, Mercury, Mars, Sun, Jupiter. Over the past three days, we might have found ourselves humming ‘everything’s coming up roses’. Things could have happened easily. We may have accomplished a lot. We might even have felt as though we could do no wrong. But, as Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote in his poem The Rainy Day: ‘Into each life some rain must fall’. This Friday could be one of those rainy days, a day when we need to embrace flexibility and adaptability. This Friday and this weekend, with intermittent respites on Saturday, could prove an intense time. Friday has the Uranus Pluto square EXACT. This square has vexed us since 2012 and will continue to do so into 2015. Its influence has brought unexpected changes, various crashes and burns, and certainly challenges through high technology where the advantages are seen in the abstract and in concept but often with severe problems in the execution and in the practical application. Today, the Libra Moon also triggers the Uranus Pluto square with the Moon creating a Cardinal Sign Grand Cross as the Libra Moon squares Pluto in Capricorn, the Moon opposes Uranus in Aries and the Moon squares Jupiter in Cancer. Mercury sextiles Mars and Mercury sextiles Pluto. The Sun sextiles Pluto, and the Sun conjuncts Mercury. This is a day when we could be hopping, trying to figure out what is going on, all the while that curveballs may be thrown at us. If we can duck, dodge and dive and keep up with the pace, then we could find that this high-energy day is one when we can cut to the core, concentrate on the truly important and significantly advance our interests. We do have to recognize that things may shift and change without a moment’s notice, so we’ll have to keep on our toes and not get caught off guard. We shall have to keep our eye on the ball, even with it moving, sometimes seen, other times not seen, but without any specific rhythm that we can fully comprehend. By the end of the day we could feel quite exhausted.

Saturday, November 2nd – No Time Like the Present – Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune. After a hectic, maybe even frantic, yesterday, we might be slow to get the day going on this Saturday. The day begins with the Libra Moon sextile Venus. As though we have come back from the wars, we could seek solace in someone who is uplifting, inspiring and comforting. We may better appreciate those special people in our lives, reach out and show our gratitude to them. Despite pleasantries to begin the day, we are not looking at moving mountains today. We might have done that yesterday. And, if we didn’t move mountains yesterday, we might have at least scaled a few or in the worst case scenario been run over by the moving mountain. Whatever went on yesterday, and it is likely that quite a bit occurred, this Saturday is a day for us to catch our breath, enjoy a respite and luxuriate in relaxations and re-creations. The Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost five hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before entering Scorpio where today the Moon trines Neptune. We may seek out some entertaining distractions like taking in a movie, hanging out at home and watching the television, or just downing a couple of beers or dry martinis. This is not a day when we are looking to accomplish a lot. We would prefer to catch our breath. If we have been living in accord with the energies unfolding, we could have gotten a lot done during the week, been thrown a few monkey wrenches yesterday and just need the time today to recharge and reinvigorate ourselves. Besides, we are in the dark side of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s New Moon and Solar Eclipse, one that could be quite an influence over the next two weeks.

Sunday, Novembers 3rd – Excavating the Essence, Expressing the Soul – Mercury, Pluto, Mars, Scorpio New Moon, Solar Eclipse, Sun, Saturn, Jupiter. Sunday is one powerful day and triggers a truly powerful fortnight. This Sunday has the Scorpio New Moon, a Solar Eclipse, with the Moon conjunct the Sun, the Moon conjunct Saturn, the Moon conjunct Mercury, the Moon sextile Pluto, the Moon sextile Mars and the Moon trine Jupiter. The Sun sextiles Mars. We may feel as though the starting gun has fired, and we are ready to spring out of the starting gate. We may be focused on what we want to do, but we could also be reminded that we have some old baggage to look through and deal with. This is a day and begins a fortnight when we may be like Charles Dickens’ Scrooge confronted with the ghosts of our past, present and the yet to come. One of the aspects of the paradigm shift in which we are moving into is the collapse of space-time into the NOW, a dimension where past, present, future are all NOW. We might become aware of this phenomenon on this Sunday and over the next two weeks. Elements of our past may step forward, as we are trying to deal with the new normalcy of our present with its rapidly changing coordinates, all the while that we are contemplating our future, although a future that is veiled in haze due to the ever-changing landscape that we have become so acutely aware of. While it would be wise for us to sort through the remnants of our past to see what to let go of and what to bring into this next phase, it is essential that we not feel limited or restricted by our past or our present or any anxiety we might hold regarding our future. It is important that we not buy into a victim mode or play the blame game. Instead, it is suggested that we be detached, objective and recognize that the game of life has changed. Although our reflections may be focused on linear progressions of our lives, life has changed. We are moving into the asequential reality where things occur apparently randomly, where magic and miracles are afoot. We can make our plans for our future, but we might consider doing so in pencil with a large eraser, appreciating the new reality that things are occurring not so much by our control over situations as by a natural unfolding that we need to dance with. The most important factor for us to consider is what projects, activities, interests speak to us on a very deep level. Involvements that have meaningful substance and reflect our essence, express our soul.
