September 9th – 15th, 2013

Impetuous actions to begin the week could have us scattering our energies and stretching beyond reasonable limits. We may feel confident about our prospects, even to the point of assuming that we can squeeze blood out of a stone. Any tendency to overreach this week could have things boomeranging back on us over the weekend.

These times, and this week, call for us to put the brakes on, engage due diligence, and be ever mindful of the liability of unintended consequences. These are times when haste not only makes waste. Haste nowadays can create a spiraling downwards with all sorts of collateral damage, much of which we cannot even imagine. Yes, it’s wild and wooly times in which we find ourselves.

We may be frustrated by delays, by people’s dysfunctionalities and by the curveballs thrown our way. How we react will determine whether we slalom past the impediments or find ourselves crashing headlong over one ravine or another.

While we might start the week energized and a little hot under the collar, the mid-week period can have us broadening our scope and widening our involvements. Let’s be especially clear as to where we place our energies. From a sense of frustration and feeling blocked to begin the week, we can boomerang into an irrational exuberance and just overdo everything in which we are involved.

The end of the week can have us making significant contacts, those people that can assist us in our endeavors and our future plans.

But the weekend could prove dicey. We may have set ourselves up to do more than we can possibly handle. Or we could be inundated by the backlash from any impetuous actions taken earlier in the week.

A sense of balance and patience and an appreciation that we are no longer masters of the universe as much as willing participants in an interesting, albeit sometimes bizarre, unfolding of situations, events, circumstances and conditions needs to be our focus and given full attention. As Bette Davis famously said in All About Eve: “Fasten your seat belts, it’s going to be a bumpy night.”

Monday, September 9th – Another Manic Monday – Neptune, Saturn, Mars, Pluto, Mercury Libra. The week starts with frenzied activity. We may have a goal in mind, but the question as to how we get there and at what expense looms large. We might feel that ‘if only’ this, that or the other, we could succeed at our planned intentions. Monday has the Scorpio Moon trine Neptune, the Moon conjunct Saturn, the Moon square Mars and the Moon sextile Pluto. Mars squares Saturn and Mercury exits its own Sign of Virgo to enter Libra. This is one of those days when we could engage the sentiment of ‘the pathway to hell is paved with good intentions.’ We may feel called upon to do something today, virtually impelled as though our intuitive sense knows right action, but our resources might be limited. No matter what our limitations could be, we may push ahead nonetheless. Our decisions can be impulsive, our actions impetuous, and there lies the rub. If we do not evaluate and re-evaluate our actions today, we could go full speed ahead and create heaps of trouble for all concerned. If we get stuck on what we want and the way we want it, we could start down a slippery slope of further problems and increased trouble. Let’s not go there, but instead apply braking action both on our decisions and our actions today.

Tuesday, September 10th – Gung Ho To Nowhere – Jupiter, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course. Having come through what might have been a highly convoluted Monday, Tuesday can have us still in turbodrive. The day begins with Scorpio Moon trine Jupiter, and the Moon sextile the Sun. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over twenty-one hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit and before entering Sagittarius tomorrow. We may start the day energized, confident and ready to take on the world, but like a transmission stuck in neutral with us pushing down on the accelerator, there may be a great deal of roar but little movement. This day may be better served by our evaluating what we did yesterday. We might consider if we overshot the mark, engaged impetuous actions and might need to reconsider whatever we set into motion. We might not be able to repair any damage we might have caused, but we can at the very least consider our reparations. We may give thought as to how to trim our sails as far as activities or expenditures. Reconsider what we have done and what we are doing would be a good use of this day, especially since we could easily move back into expansionary mode tomorrow.

Wednesday, September 11th – Wide Open Space – Neptune, Mercury, Lunar Grand Trine, Mars, Uranus, Venus Scorpio. Hopefully, we used some of yesterday to take an accounting of our involvements and our plans, for it would have been wise for us to pare down our activities and our expenses. These times are like a wild metronome swing, often going from one extreme to the other. This Wednesday has the Moon moving into Sagittarius and today the Moon squares Neptune, the Moon sextiles Mercury and the Moon creates a Fire Grand Trine with the Moon trine Mars in Leo and the Moon trine Uranus in Aries. Venus exits its own Sign of Libra to enter Scorpio. We had better be on the right track as we start this day. Otherwise, things could go incredibly wrong. Once set into motion, there may be no stopping us. If we have done our due diligence and are committed to our ventures, we can virtually move mountains today in a streamlined and innovative manner. Today is a day when we can present our interests with passion, intrigue and a sense of serendipity. We may find that things work out in a most magical and mysterious way today, just so long as we start the day on the right foot, on the right track. We are likely to be confident and self-assured and such an attitude goes far towards winning our way. One can only hope that this day is not used in an arrogant or self-justifying manner for some bad behavior.

Thursday, September 12th – Sun, Moon Void-of-Course. The Moon continues through Sagittarius today and the Moon squares the Sun before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost seventeen hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before entering Capricorn tomorrow. With some of the pumped-up attitude we might have instilled in ourselves yesterday, we have to be wary on this Thursday that we do not make some bone-headed decisions based upon confidence without checking things out. Our tendency could be to gloss over the details, neglect some of the specifics with an assumption that our ‘feel good’ attitude will carry us through. Whoa! Talk about a prescription for banging our heads against the wall. The tendency today is reminiscent of Einstein’s definition of insanity: ‘Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.’ This week is prone to impetuous actions but once burned, let’s hope we are twice shy. This week can have us over-reaching, over-expanding, all with the belief that our pontificating can make things right, when in truth we could actually be wrong. It would be wise for us to let some of the helium out of our balloon, since we may be intoxicated by our own desires.

Friday, September 13th – Recalibrating – Venus, Neptune, Mercury, Saturn, Pluto. Today allows us to reconfigure and recalibrate some of our decisions and actions over the past few days. The Moon enters Capricorn, and today the Moon sextiles Venus, the Moon sextiles Neptune, the Moon squares Mercury, the Moon sextiles Saturn and the Moon conjuncts Pluto. This day can be a highly productive day by focusing on the details of our projects, on the best utilization of our resources and on a best practices approach to realize our goals. While the proverb ‘all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’ may be true in the largest sense, it is not valid for this Friday. On the contrary, this day is far better for nose to grindstone and concentrating on our work and responsibilities and putting play off to another day. We do have to avoid getting so involved with our tasks at hand that we either choose to blow off steam in one huge fun incident or we decide to skip over the specifics just to get a lot done. Let’s take care of situations so that they don’t come up and haunt us over the weekend or in the days ahead. If we have overstepped our bounds earlier in the week, today is a day to make amends. Let’s not leave it for tomorrow since this weekend could be explosive.

Saturday, September 14th – Tai Chi Moves – Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Jupiter, Sun, Venus, Neptune, Mercury, Pluto, Mars. Saturday is a day when we may not know whether we are coming or going. We do know that we are likely to be in constant movement. This day could prove one intense time and really needs us to do the tai chi moves, to work with the energy, skirt any significant problems, all the while juggling, juggling, juggling. Saturday continues with the Capricorn Moon, and today the Moon triggers a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Moon square Uranus and the Moon opposed Jupiter. The Moon also trines the Sun. Venus trines Neptune, Mercury squares Pluto, and Mars trines Uranus. This Saturday can be one highly active day. Our plans may change suddenly. We may feel called upon to take care of home and family issues. We could easily buy into presentations without considering all the ramifications of our involvement. And we may feel as though there is no stopping us now, which could be true but might also have us akin to a runaway train. This is a day for us to keep our eyes wide open, be nimble and quick, and avoid any arguments. Discussions with other people could ratchet up into arguments and severely affect our relationship with someone. Everybody may be on edge, and it would be wise for us to consider taking time to step off the track, do something totally unplanned and something that puts a smile on our face. It is important that we not get seduced by images today but rather use severe judgment to evaluate what is really going on. This is a day to employ our tai chi moves, to be fully aware of the energies operating, energies that may seem paradoxical at best, and to work with the energies to our advantage and not get stung by the wide swings of motions today.

Sunday, September 15th – No Rest for the Weary – Venus, Saturn. Sunday has the Moon exiting Capricorn to enter Aquarius where today the Moon squares both Venus and Saturn. This is a day for social get-togethers and interesting new activities. Yesterday could have been a humdinger of a whack job, throwing us one way then the other, all the while that we were in constant movement. Exhausting perhaps, but today allows us a brief reprieve from yesterday’s intensity. Although we might want to embark on grand adventures for a day trip today, we do have to keep aware of our resources. Believing that we need a treat and need to be good to ourselves after the caroming of this past week, we might decide to allow ourselves some fun adventure, no matter the cost. And the cost could prove to be where the problem lies. We could easily justify spending more than would be appropriate as a reward for getting through the week. If we are participating in activities with other people, let’s be sure that everyone is paying their fair share. We would not want to be involved with deadbeats that could put a crimp on our activities and on our friendship with them. The end of the day could have us concerned about our resources and how they could impact our future goals. Let’s not lose ourselves to worrying but rather take the time to consider our plans for the forthcoming week and the weeks ahead, devise a focused strategy and budget our time and finances. There may be no rest for the weary but we can snatch brief reprieves by stepping off the track, enjoying new interests, all the while that we keep attentive to the costs involved.
