The first full week of autumn, this week can have us scurrying around, juggling various activities and preparing for various home projects and personal makeovers.
We might be slow starting as we begin the week. Perhaps it’s the seasonal change, the shift from summer into autumn, with us trying to make the adjustment. I’m writing this from Toronto where two days ago there was sunny weather and temperatures in the high 70’s. Yesterday, the rains came, dropping the temperatures slightly. This morning, I awoke to temperatures in the 40’s. Autumn is upon us with warm days and cool nights to begin the season. Changes with the seasons are often difficult for us mentally, emotionally and physically, and this week we may get into our autumnal gear.
After a slow start to the week, the early week can have us dealing with many different activities, those of our own personal interests and those of other people, as well. We can be here, there and everywhere.
As the week progresses, we may have greater involvement with home and family matters. We might be using the days to take care of errands and spend time on home projects.
With the seasonal change as justification, we might spend time shopping for our fall wardrobe or decide on a personal makeover. We do have to be wary of spending too much and fueling our desires for creature comforts.
All in all, this can be a truly pleasant week. But what’s not to like about the sense of balance that Libra often provides us. Of course, to reach that balance we often have to tip the scales one way, then the other to find equilibrium. So too may it be for us this first week of autumn.
Monday, September 23rd – Far From a Manic Monday – Mars, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course. This is the first full day of autumn, the first full day of the Sun transiting Libra. Although it’s a gross mischaracterization, Libra is sometimes referred to as ‘lazy Libra’. Librans are not lazy, only indecisive, weighing all sides of an issue, before they come to a decision, which then becomes definitive and virtually carved in stone. This Monday begins with the Moon in Taurus square Mars and the Moon sextile Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for twenty-four hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Taurus and before entering Gemini tomorrow. We might have difficulty getting out of bed on this Monday morning. Even if we rouse ourselves from the bed, we might have difficulty getting out the door. Even if we get out the door and attend to our scheduled matters for this Monday, we are unlikely to have much verve or zest in getting things done. This Monday can be a plodding day, but there are days like this. No worries, for the Gemini Moon over the next three days can have us moving at a rapid pace.
Tuesday, September 24th – Friends, Lovers & Tricksters – Sun, Neptune. We may have a spring in our step as we start this Tuesday. The Moon is in Gemini, and today the Moon trines the Sun and the Moon squares Neptune. We may be feeling upbeat, confident, full of life and full of love for our fellow beings. While our interactions with other people can be quite pleasant, it would be wise for us not to assume that everything being told to us is the gospel truth. We may be engaged with someone who may be glad-handing us but with an ulterior motive. Even though conversations and discussions can be the highlight of this day, we need to read between the lines rather than accepting presentations at face value. Rather than making major commitments today, it would be wise to hear what is being said and take the time reflect on the implications and the long-term effects, keeping in mind the law of unintended consequences. If something sounds too good to be true, it likely is. Spinmeisters and hypesters may be out in full force, and we need to take things said with a grain of salt. Marketing presents the best attributes. We are the ones who need the time to discover and consider the frailties and flaws in their argument.
Wednesday, September 25th – Striking Out in New Directions – Uranus, Mars. Although Wednesday is often referred to as ‘hump’ day to get us to slide through the rest of the week, this Wednesday could prove a primo day for us to explore, investigate and see where we can advance in new directions. The Gemini Moon today sextiles Uranus, and the Moon sextiles Mars. We are looking for something that excites us, grabs our passion and allows us to put our imprint on some new activity. We can be feeling inspired, and confident that whatever we take on we can be both successful at it and enjoy the process. This is a day for us to keep our antennae up for we could hear about something that tantalizes our interest. We may find today is a case when we are in the right place at the right time. Our energy can be indefatigable and we can accomplish more than most other times. We are not looking to engage routine matters but rather projects and activities that are cutting edge, innovative and certainly new to us.
Thursday, September 26th – The Comfort of Good Friends – Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune, Sun, Venus, Jupiter. Thursday begins with the Gemini Moon trine Mercury. We may ring someone up or may have made plans yesterday to get together with a good friend. We might use a trusted someone as a sounding board for our plans. We enjoy the company of that special person in our lives, and we are likely to tell them so today. The Moon goes Void-of-Course for eight hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini and before entering Cancer where today the Moon trines Neptune and the Moon squares the Sun. Venus trines Jupiter. We could start this Thursday deep in conversation with someone, thankful for their time and their friendship. Our love and gratitude can show, and we might even go a little overboard with our generosity today. We want to make people feel comfortable, loved and appreciated. While we might be in a ‘feel good’ attitude today, we do have to be wary that we are not doing more for someone else than we are giving to ourselves or getting back in return. We can be warm, comforting and highly emotional today, but we might also want some of that touchy, feely warmth in return.
Friday, September 27th – Maintaining an Even Keel – Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Uranus, Saturn. After several days when we might have seemed to embrace a ‘devil may care’ attitude, and with most things going our way, Friday through Sunday could be slightly different, and a little more dicey. Today, the Cancer Moon trines Saturn but the Moon also triggers the Uranus Pluto square with the Cancer Moon opposed Pluto and the Moon square Uranus. If we can maintain our balance as various curve balls are thrown our way, then all the better we can be to move forward. Although unexpected situations could crop up and we may find some of our intentions blocked, by holding steady and doing the necessary twists and turns, we can continue ahead without being devastated or defeated. Let’s keep in mind that we are never given more than we can handle. And let’s remember that the craziness in the world can only be crazy-making if we engage it. Often, things occur that may seem upsetting, but in true reality have very little effect on our personal lives. It is important that we stay centered and grounded to successfully address unanticipated situations or attempts at blockages.
Saturday, September 28th – Keeping It Real – Jupiter, Venus, Mars. Saturday has the Cancer Moon conjunct Jupiter and the Moon trine Venus. Venus squares Mars. This Saturday is a day when we could easily over — overspend, overindulge, overexert… all the overs that would be overly much. It would be wise for us to budget our finances today before we go out hunting and gathering at the malls, box stores and other depositories for our hard-earned monies. We may want what we want, and we could easily justify our desires today by reason of the seasonal changes. Even if the weather is still warm, we might insist that we need additions to our wardrobe, touch ups to our hair style, accoutrements to our home and any other manner of shopping that verges on, or dives deep into, excessive spending. We could be enamored with our fall home projects, decide to buy the necessary materials, but let’s not consider an entire home renovation instead of project by project. We are looking for the comforts of home and the comforts of living, but it would be wise for us to keep a handle on our expenses. Too much is still… too much.
Sunday, September 29th – Fun, Fun, Fun, Til – Mercury, Sun, Saturn, Mercury Scorpio. Sunday continues with a desire to enjoy ourselves. While it may not be the t-bird being taken away that the Beach Boys sang about in their song ‘Fun, Fun, Fun’, we do have to watch our finances. We are still looking for more good times on this Sunday. The day starts with the Cancer Moon square Mercury, just before Mercury exits Libra to enter Scorpio and before the Moon exits Cancer to enter Leo. The Moon in Leo today sextiles the Sun and the Moon squares Saturn. We may be looking for good times and re-creational adventures on this Sunday, but it would be wise for us to consider the costs of our enjoyment before the expense. With Mercury moving into Scorpio, we now have a Stellium of three or more planets in the Fixed Water Sign, fueling the Water Grand Trine and aggravating the Water Element with five planets now in Water. Our emotions are turned up severalfold and we do need to watch for negative impacts of so much water — intense precipitation, flash floods, mudslides, and heavy mood swings. Scorpio can also have an impact on us having to do more with less, so let’s be as resourceful as we possibly can.
