September 16th – 22nd, 2013

We may be closing some doors, opening some new ones as we head through this week. But the process of completions and initiations may not be a smooth one. There can be some hiccups this week, as we continue to ride a roller coaster of ups and downs.

No matter what we have scheduled for this last ‘official’ week of summer, we may start the week with unexpected news greeting us and demanding that we adjust our plans and adapt to changing conditions.

The early part of the week can have us looking forward and also looking back. This week is the last ‘official’ week of summer with autumn entering with the Sun moving into the Cardinal Air Sign of Libra on Sunday.

The mid-part of the week can have us highly moody. We may ‘feel’ other people’s pain, but especially feeling our own pain. We might question what we have done with our lives and where we are going. Our tendency could be to see the warts, flaws and frailties more so than the benefits, blessings and accomplishments.

The Full Moon on Thursday can have us focusing on what is truly essential in our lives but also wondering how we can manage through what feels like a compression of our resources. We could be going through an alchemical process where the dross is burned away and we are asked, even forced, to pay attention to the truly meaningful aspects of our lives.

As though having the sense of being like the emperor with no clothes, we may choose the weekend to spruce up our homes and our personal appearance. We might prefer to fill in spaces created by our late summer cleanup and clear out.

The week ends with us crossing into the autumn season as the Sun moves into Libra. Summer is over, and we might be wistful of its ending and wondering what the days ahead may bring. We are all becoming aware of the dramatic shifts and radical changes occurring in our lives and all around us and we might question what comes next.

Monday, September 16th – Another Manic Monday? – Uranus, Mercury, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course. The week begins with the Moon continuing its transit of Aquarius with the Moon today sextile Uranus, the Moon trine Mercury and the Moon opposed Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over twenty-nine and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before entering Pisces tomorrow. Mercury, which squared Pluto this past Saturday, finishes its hit to the Uranus Pluto square by Mercury opposing Uranus today. Mercury in adverse aspect [square or opposition] is my least favorite aspect for airline travel. This day may ask us to be nimble and quick and might reflect the well-known saying ‘if you want to make god laugh, tell god your plans.’ This Monday could have various curveballs thrown at us and we need to be sharp, alert and on our toes to deal with unexpected variables and unanticipated news. Communications could be off and there could be problems with high technology. This day is certainly a day to back up, back up, and back up our files and documents just in case of computer glitches. While we might have to have our antennae up and be fully aware of what is going on around us, we can deal with whatever is thrown at us. We just have to think outside the box, be willing to do things differently and not get exhausted by the process. By the end of the day, we might be ready to collapse into exhaustion, so let’s be mindful that the day starts with a high energy roar that diminishes over time.

Tuesday, September 17th – Clarity, Persuasion and Win-Wins – Neptune, Venus, Mercury, Mars. Tuesday can be a pleasant day, so long as we start with a focused intent on what we wish to accomplish today. The day may be slow starting due to the long Void-of-Course Moon from yesterday as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius without making further connections to the planets before entering Pisces today. The Moon in Pisces conjuncts Neptune and the Moon trines Venus. Mercury sextiles Mars. While we might have been thrown some curve balls yesterday, today allows us to straighten things out, get a handle on what is going on and blend both our intuitive sense with a well-polished presentation of our ideas. We may feel like a magnet drawing to us people who are appreciative of our efforts and who acknowledge our capabilities. We may be foisted into a leadership position today, and we have the foresight not only to know how to conceptualize our plans but to also draw upon other people for their support. This can be one of those mutual admiration days when everybody is more collaborative and more accommodating. Much can be accomplished through cooperation. Our emotions can be especially strong as we move towards Thursday’s Pisces Full Moon so we do have to watch for our moodiness. If we can embrace the magic and the miracles of these times, then we could find ourselves walking on the sunny side of the street with helpful and friendly companions. Nice day, this one.

Wednesday, September 18th – Reach Out of the Dark Now – Lunar Grand Trine, Saturn, Jupiter, Pluto, Venus. Tuesday and Wednesday could be the high points of this week. So much for the idea that Wednesday is a ‘hump’ day, which we just have to get over to slide towards the weekend. Not on this Wednesday! This Wednesday can be a gift from the gods, but let’s not get too maudlin with our sentimentality. There is a great deal of emotion during this mid-week period. The Moon continues through Pisces, and today the Moon triggers the Water Element Grand Trine with the Moon trine Saturn in Scorpio and the Moon trine Jupiter in Cancer. The Moon also sextiles Pluto. Venus conjuncts Saturn and Venus sextiles Pluto. This is a day to ‘let go, and let god’ and to be fully open to the possibilities from the universe. Things may fit neatly together and we could find ourselves in the flow of events unfolding that help bring about the realization of our goals. There can be some interesting reconnections today, but some of these people may be there to say ‘hello, goodbye’ as a parade of our past goes by. While we might feel challenged by the resources available to us, we could engage our resourcefulness and find that we have enough and more to achieve our aims. While we might feel ‘divinely’ guided today, we need to engage the opportunities and not merely watch the river flow by.

Thursday, September 19th – Shine on, Silvery Moon – Pisces Full Moon, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Jupiter. Thursday has the Pisces Full Moon with the Moon opposed the Sun. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over five and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before entering Aries. Mercury squares Jupiter. From Tuesday on we may have been on a roll and assuming that nothing could go wrong, and that everything could only go right. We may continue with that ‘feel good’ attitude today. Everything may be a little over the top on this Thursday. Our emotions are heightened and we might choose to see only the good stuff. Our enthusiasm and exuberance may know no limits, and we could easily be excessive and indulgent today. Tuesday through Thursday can be highly pleasant days. Let’s enjoy them without going overboard on our expenditures and without assuming that we have turned the corner and that there are no more hard times ahead. Tomorrow could be a different story, so let’s enjoy the day, dance in the light of the silvery moon, but recognize that we live during times when things can change dramatically in a nanosecond.

Friday, September 20th – Bang, Crash, Boom – Lunar Grand Cross, Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Pluto direct. Hopefully we rested up during this mid-week period when the energies were bubbly and scintillating. Friday, not so much. Things may not merely go bump in the night, for on this day things can go bang, crash, boom. This can be an explosive day. There could be earthquakes, volcanic action, intense storms and actings out with bombings and explosive devices and people raging at… whatever. The Moon in Aries triggers a Cardinal Sign Grand Cross with the Moon conjunct Uranus, the Moon square Pluto in Capricorn, the Moon square Jupiter in Cancer and the Moon opposed Mercury in Libra. The Moon also trines Mars and Pluto turns direct. There is a great deal of thrust to this day with various beginnings, initiations and start-ups. Unfortunately, some of these new ventures could literally, or figuratively, blow up in our face. After several days of everything seemingly going our way, we might have great expectations for this Friday. Expectations might not be met, but we could be in overdrive nonetheless. Let’s try and slow things down, not get caught up in the frenzy, and recognize that the more energy we expend spinning our wheels today, the more wiped out we will be tomorrow. Late in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over twenty-one hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before entering Taurus tomorrow.

Saturday, September 21st – Catching Our Breath, Straightening Our Mess – Moon Void-of-Course, Saturn, Pluto. The Moon continues Void-of-Course for much of the day as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries without making any further connections to the planets and before entering Taurus late in the day. Saturn sextiles Pluto. Yesterday could have knocked us for a loop. We may have been dodging bullets, going here, there and everywhere, and leaving us totally wiped out and exhausted. We could be slow starting on this Saturday, not that we don’t want to be engaged. We may just not have the energy to get up and going. The Moon makes no connections to the planets today, and Saturn sextiles Pluto. This is a good day to slow things down, put on the brakes, and recalibrate what we are doing and how we are doing it. If we were impetuous yesterday and overly enthusiastic over the past few days buying into a belief that nothing could go wrong, this Saturday allows us time and space to catch our breath and straighten our mess. We can be resourceful and expeditious today. Even if we took on more than would be feasible during this week, this Saturday allows us to pick and choose and to sift through what we have done to ourselves. We can then focus on the most meaningful activities and discern a best practices approach to realize our goals. We can do our due diligence, do more with less and be highly effective. We are less swayed and seduced by the glittery and sparkling as we might have been earlier this week. Errands can be accomplished quickly. As this is the last full ‘official’ day of summer, we may find ourselves doing a pre-autumn clean up. There’s nothing wrong with getting the superfluous out of the way. Clearing out for autumn can keep us from tripping over things that serve no purpose as we come into the Fall.

Sunday, September 22nd – Autumn Leaves – Neptune, Pluto, Saturn, Venus, Autumn Equinox, Sun Libra. Sunday has the Moon in Taurus with the Moon sextile Neptune, the Moon trine Pluto and the Moon opposed both Saturn and Venus. The Sun exits Virgo leaving behind the summer months, and the Sun enters Libra beginning the autumn season. We may want to go shopping, have a personal makeover and add to the accoutrements of our lives. While we can focus on what we ‘need’, we do have to keep track of our expenditures. We could easily overspend all with the justification that we need to prepare for the autumn season and the likelihood of cooling temperatures. Even if we stick to our necessities, we still have to be wary of the costs involved. We could easily rack up significant additions to our credit card balances. The Sun moving into Libra will accentuate the search for balance in our lives. We may be more considerate of other people, appreciative of what they bring to our lives. While we are looking for peace and serenity, we might decide to create a sanctuary in our living space, focusing more on moving indoors from all the time spent out of doors during the summer months. We might even decide to search out fall festivals and the wonderful smells of pies baking, the crispness of the autumn air and the landscape starting to dot with the changing colors of autumn leaves.
