This week can be a week when we are in preparation mode of getting back on track with our normal daily affairs. We might still have one foot in summertime escapes, but increasingly we may be feeling that it’s time to ready ourselves for the autumn ahead. Even in my travels to Canada two weeks ago, I could smell in the air the sense of impending autumnal weather.
This week could be slow starting. Our plans can be thwarted by long Void-of-Course Moons, those times when the energy dies down and there is stillness amidst the frenzy of these times. If we have enjoyed the company of that special person, or people, over the past weekend, we might choose to continue our pleasant interchanges to begin the week. Such interactions could be short-lived, for the energy shifts dramatically as we turn inward, focus more on eliminating the superfluous from our lives and engage an intense passion to be off in a world of our own.
Our emotions may be heightened to begin the week with a desire to enjoy moments of solitude, even if we are in the midst of groups of people or making our way through large crowds. Whittling down the extraneous, clearing our path from needless debris and concentrating on the most meaningful aspects of our lives can have us devising the ways of circumnavigating our path in the most expeditious and resourceful manner possible. We are not interested in excess but rather sterling qualities.
The mid-part of the week can offer a respite from intensity. We could easily choose to step off the track, venture into unfamiliar terrain and engage activities that are foreign to our experience. The mid-week is a time for us to have our antennae up, work with peripheral vision and be open to the serendipity of wonderful surprises. Magic is in the air in the mid-week period, and it would be wise for us to heed and follow news and opportunities that might come up out of the blue. Asequential reality could be at work, and it would be wise for us to unlock ourselves from any scheduled plans in order to take advantage of the gifts from the universe.
Our foray into expansive possibilities and new environments may be brief, for as we come to the weekend we seem focused on doing what needs to be done. Refreshed and renewed and aware of possibilities that might solely be glimmers at the moment, we can take care of what needs to be done over the weekend. We may address various responsibilities and obligations, all with the push of getting things done in order to create space for the universe to fill the vacuum with some of the marvelous prospects we heard about in the mid-week period.
Monday, August 12th – Me and My Monkey – Moon Void-of-Course. Monday begins the week with the Moon Void-of-Course making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before entering Scorpio later in the day. We may prefer to laze around on this Monday, juggle various interests but without any real passion or interest in any of them. We might even feel that we are running in place, although the running could actually be a slow crawl. We might question why we are not feeling the energy, and it would be wise for us to keep in mind the side effects of the alchemical process that all of us have been experiencing during these times of major transformations and personal shapeshifting. This alchemical process is turning base mettle into gold but might feel more like a baptism by fire. I am staggered by the number of people I have heard about who have gone through dramatic and sudden changes in their lives over the past few months, changes that were largely inexplicable but evidently necessary for them to move on to new horizons. As the day progresses, the energy shifts when the Moon exits Libra to enter Scorpio. We may turn more inward, more focused on our internal processing. We could seem to others as if we have closed down and removed ourselves from social interaction. Even if we still engage other people, our attention has turned more to processing what has been going on in our lives with an inclination to rid ourselves of the outmoded and outworn.
Tuesday, August 13th – Divine Guidance or a World of Our Own – Saturn, Mercury, Venus, Lunar Grand Trine, Neptune, Jupiter. Tuesday reinforces the Water Grand Trine in effect through next Spring of 2014. Today, the Moon in Scorpio conjuncts Saturn, the Moon squares Mercury and the Moon sextiles Pluto. The Moon triggers the Water Grand Trine with the Scorpio Moon conjunct Saturn, the Moon trine Neptune in Pisces and the Moon trine Jupiter in Cancer. We may be in a world of our own today. We might not be fun-loving today, but we are likely to be focused and attentive to getting rid of the extraneous from our lives. Our emotions can be heightened, and our actions determined more by our moods than our reasoning. This is a day when we might feel impelled to look beyond appearance, to scratch the surface and see what is really going on. Judgments can get in the way, so the more we can suspend judgment, let go of our opinions and be guided by our inner voice of knowing; the better the outcome would be. We might not be the life of the party today but rather deep in consideration of our lives and how we can best streamline situations in order to focus on the truly important and not get tripped up by the superfluous. This is a day for cleaning up and clearing out all the useless involvements and outmoded stuff in our lives. We want to cut to the core and concentrate on the true purpose of our lives.
Wednesday, August 14th – Emptying and Filling the Cup – Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Uranus. Wednesday continues with the Scorpio Moon. Today, the Moon trines Mars, the Moon squares the Sun and the Moon sextiles Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course briefly, for three and a half hours, making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Scorpio and before entering Sagittarius late today, early tomorrow. Mercury trines Uranus late today, early tomorrow. Wednesday is a day for us to tie up loose ends, strip away the non-functional and prepare for a couple of days where we can expand our interests, take advantage of wonderful opportunities and engage situations spontaneously, even impulsively. As the wise saying states: ‘the cup must be emptied before it can be filled.’ The more we can empty the cup today by straightening things up, bringing closure to various issues and clearing the decks, the more attuned we shall be to exciting new possibilities. Late today and on into Friday, we may step off the track of our daily grind, look to get out of Dodge or at least get away from our mundane routine, and take on the role of the great adventurer. We do not have to know what new adventures to engage, but we do need to be freed from tasks and obligations that would prevent us from taking advantage of surprising unexpected opportunities. It will be important for us to have our antennae up, be ready to receive, and accept the fact that we no longer have to make things happen. On the contrary, magic is in the air. We could find ourselves being in the right place at the right time.
Thursday, August 15th – Soaring with the Eagles – Neptune, Lunar Grand Trine, Uranus, Mercury. Yesterday and early today, Mercury trines Uranus. Today, that energy configuration is reinforced by the Sagittarius Moon creating a Fire Grand Trine with the Moon in Sagittarius trine Uranus in Aries and the Moon trine Mercury in Leo. This is a day of magic and mini-miracles, so long as we do not get in our own way. Our way could be a result of the Moon square Neptune today. Although due diligence is necessary today, it is also essential that we not try and force issues. This is a day of greased wheels when things can go incredibly smoothly, so long as we do not try and direct the movement, try to regulate the pace or try to determine the direction. Serendipity and synchronicity are in force. We may hear some startling and inspiring news. We could become aware of options and alternatives we had never considered. We could find ourselves in a phenomenal landscape of even the seemingly impossible not only becoming possible but even probable. This is a day when we can soar with the eagles. Let’s not try to figure it out. Let’s not judge it. Let’s not try to control it. The universe is at play and providing us some most interesting situations and occasions for us to engage.
Friday, August 16th – Taking the Edge Off – Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus Libra. Friday begins with the Moon in Sagittarius, where today the Moon trines the Sun before going Void-of-Course for close to ten hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before entering Capricorn late today, early tomorrow. Venus exits Virgo to enter its own Sign of Libra. This is a day when we are looking to enjoy both ourselves and the company of others. Some of the edge on that we might have had regarding our relationships over the past few weeks can come off. We are far more interested in cooperating with other people and appreciating their qualities. We are not so much focused on their flaws and frailties but instead looking at the good aspects of their character. We may be gearing up for a productive, nose-to-grindstone type of weekend, but this Friday we are more interested in luxuriating in the good times with good friends. Leisurely lunches and communal events can put smiles on our faces today.
Saturday, August 17th – Focused Intent – Neptune, Saturn, Lunar Grand Cross, Venus, Pluto, Jupiter, Uranus. Saturday has the Moon in Capricorn. Today, the Moon sextiles Neptune and the Moon sextiles Saturn. The Moon conjuncts Pluto and triggers a Grand Cross in the Cardinal Signs with the Moon square Venus in Libra, the Moon opposed Jupiter in Cancer, and the Moon square Uranus in Aries. We may be operating on all cylinders today, ready, willing and able. We can virtually move mountains today. This is a day of new beginnings, launching our projects and focusing our intentions. Although we are ambitious and goal-oriented today, we have to be wary of stepping on other people’s toes. We may just be a little too much for some people today. Although we have a renewed interest in the lives of other people, today we are not looking for anyone to get in our way. We have much to do and we could be like a steamroller pushing ahead no matter what obstacles might lie in our way. This Saturday can be a highly productive day. We can tend to errands, take care of our responsibilities and deal with any number of issues. Not everyone will applaud our efforts, but those that do not appreciate our determination and our concentration may be more needy of our time than would be appropriate. Let’s not get sidetracked by other people’s demands or whining. If we do offend someone today, we can make amends some other time. Today, there is no time to waste.
Sunday, August 18th – Details at Home – Mars, Moon Void-of-Course. The Moon continues through Capricorn, and today the Moon opposes Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost fifteen hours making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before entering Aquarius tomorrow. We may put finishing touches on the projects we engaged yesterday. We can attend to the details and the specifics, take care of family matters and address home projects. The energy then dies down, and we might find ourselves falling into relaxation mode. Even if there are still more things to do, we may have expended all the energy we could yesterday with finishing details today. Enough already, we might feel, as we affirm Sunday, at least part of this Sunday, as a day to rest. We may have made preparations for our return to being on the track and getting back into familiar routine. We might have also dealt with pressing needs in order to allow some space and time to have some fun and enjoyable activities as we come into this next week. The summer is coming to closure. People are getting back on track. School orientations, even the beginning of school, are starting or about to begin. We are preparing for the days ahead but unwilling to let the summer go. Where did this summer go?
